It seems that game violence will be the main star in Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit series In the new episode, entitled "Game," Detectives Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Odafin "Fin" Tutola (Ice-T) investigate the rape and murder of a prostitute. They discover that the teenage perpetrators were apparently reenacting scenes from their favorite game. The case winds up in court, where Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak (Diane Neal) must prove the teens were not influenced by the game and should be held accountable for their actions. Apparently, this is also in tune to to some people wanting to ban sales of games to minors. Its supposed to air on NBC, but since UK is (I believe) one series behind we wont be able to see for ourselves. Still, it would prove to be interesting to see whther or not games are the answer or not, even if the case is fictional. |

I don't know why peeps gots to be hatin on video games. Why don't they go get mad at books or something? Leave violent video games alone! Well actually, there are a book burnings and stuff...why not bother...um...uh...TREES!!! Yeah, they have caused many injuries to our youth. And some of them well have sexual writing on it, like HM+JH with a heart around it carved in the tree. |

I'd sooner ban crappy parents. Adult games are rated 18 for a reason. |

And yet they just dont seem to notice that when they look at the coverbox. Or when the sales guy tells them its 18 and actually requires them to pay instead of their kids. Thats life though. |

I think their just thinking of another reason to ban games. They find something that has happened and try to blame games. |

I vote they ban movies. R movies are just as bad, if not sometimes worse, than some of them violent video games out there. Besides, a lot of the violence in video games involves weapons that no one could get access to (or maybe it's just the games I play that gives me that idea.) |

AMEN! Everyone gets mad at the violent games, because kids play them... Well, if the parents were smart enough, they wouldn't let them! The games are rated 'T', 'M', or 'A' for gods sake! Which means 'not sutible for kids', so how's that the kid's fault? |

simple, it ain't, it's just the parents won't blame themselfs, and the goverment find it easier to blame children. |

"Video games make children violent" Well, by that logic, since every murderer has drunk water at some point in their lives... |

sometimes the public is too blind and ignorant to accept the blames on them selves so they use video games as a scape goat too often. from my experience ive seen more violence produced from watching sports than videogames. |

In my humble opinion, there is so much violence in the world that people are getting sick of it. but its the worst kind of drug, and you cant just quit cold turkey. so they made video games with violence as their own personal little nicotine patch. and isnt banning violent videogames the worst thing you can do? for some soldiers its their only training, and for the rest of us, well, we are a very violent species. Say theres a very troubled kid whos parents own a gun. the reason why he doesnt touch it is that he owns GTA. there he can get better guns and do stuff without fear of real police. but then, his parents see it for what it really is and immediately get rid of it. no more GTA. suddenly, that gun in the closet is looking pretty damn tempting. And there seems to be an unusual amount of activity on the sidewalks today...IF you really want violence out of video games, shouldnt you start with a violent society, seeming how video games are mere results of it? Violent videogames make murderers, hmm...then give those murderers every violent game there is and let them kill and kill in them till they dont want to kill anymore. Now theyre sick of it. the thought of killing, makes them retch now. isnt it funny how people see a disease and blame the cure? |

Yay for fun links. Beware, viewing this site is suspected to cause an infection of stupidity in the frontal lobe, possibly killing all of your motor functions as well. So yeah. Video game violence. Sure, I CAN expect it to cause crap from maybe a twelve year old who is very stupid. Believe it or not, I HAVE had little kids think that just because they have a toy gun that looks like Max Payne's, they can cap me and laugh. Sadly for them, BBs do not kill, just piss me off, and cause me to give in to a great desire to smash the toys over their heads. But teenagers, late ones specifically, and anyone older, should know better than that, and be treated as if they know better. It's similiar to insulting someone on the internet so much that they cut themselves-you didn't force them to, only their own retardation did, so they must be held accountable for it. Just that way, I've never played SciHunt and suddenly decided that I HAD to go out and smash scientists with a huge fucking hammer, lest I die a painful death. |

LMFAO Kit, that Mavav site was a HOAX, it was revealed on Penny Arcade four years ago! It was actually made by a college student for a paper he was writing. Penny Arcade reveal it here. Creator reveals project here. |

You know, I never even heard about MAVAV, or at least... never paid much attention to it if I saw the banners. I must say, that's an interesting assignment... as well as an interesting result. XD |

You have no idea how relieved I am to read that, Lothar. Sadly, though, there ARE actually people that stupid out there, so I'm not TOO relieved. And I don't read Penny Arcade. Not that I don't WANT to, but for some reason my computer simply can't view the site. But that's going way off topic. Anyway...there are some morons who feel that because they can do crap in video games, they can do it in the real world. They're usually completely insane, retarded, or little kids, though. So I guess it's all okay, then, since they can either get the crap kicked out of them or locked away. |
