Eh, I thought the coffee bit was overdone. The hallucinations preceding and the 'Let’s get the hell out of here' aftermath were good though.

Choice excerpts?

Quote:

“The Nnygugu are this region’s largest cult, Undivided or otherwise,” Virus Zuviel said as they were attempting to revive Eastwood in Schaefer’s waiting room (which was, for some reason, being taken apart). “I do remember that… although that was only because my teacher turned out to be one of their high priests. Poor Al. He was a good guy. ‘Cept for the whole heresy thing.”

The opening paragraph, no less. This is funny. And very characterful. Oh yes, Virus is an optimist at heart. Always sees the best in a person. Which is of course completely at odds with his chosen profession.

Lothar Hex had never expected to go to heaven. He was quite convinced that if any part of where he would spend a hypothetical afterlife was based on the morality of his time alive, he was packing asbestos. When he thought of pearly gates, he wondered how much they’d bring in on the black market. And he would definitely suck at the harp.

Heh heh, packing asbestos. This is also a very character-driven sort of funneh.

Cool cool. More plz kthx.

I enjoyed your stories really well. Plus I also like your other projects(The links in your sig.). They were enjoyable, but nontherless I still need to tell you about your story.

It really felt like you entered the mide of a man from the 1800s that was funny, read EN for 6 monthes striat, and made a story that can beat even Captin Kidd in detial. That means it was gooooood!

Man from the 1800's? Odd praise, but I'll go with it. :P

Dire Peril: Part IV added!

After rounding up Blasphemy, the trio head for the port of Dagou... and very quickly through the port of Dagou. Meanwhile, Rogue is learning from Tirzah just why he and his have been singled out for this brutal ritual.

I'm still plugging on this whenever I can. I aim to finish (probably about 2/5 through) so despair ye not, I'm always working whenever I can find a second!

It'd be tons, tons easier if HTML didn't hate me, too. It doesn't ever want to indent, unless I use the more advanced Word at my library to convert into HTML. I have to go do half the indenting manually Word 2003 is SO much better than this ME I'm using. That means a lot of Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V with the words "<p class=MsoBodyTextIndent>" where Word has conviniently forgotten to place them. The price I pay for working on this on a dozen different computers, I guess, shuffling it to and forth through my e-mail.

But enough of that. Go nuts.

I actually read it a few days ago, but wasn't feeling coherent enough to go into any depth commenting at the time. And I haven't been able to read it again to do so properly now. I figure, at this point, at least a brief thumbsup is better than a hypothetical longer comment that will never come.

That's the trouble with procrastination - you always do useless things when avoiding something else. It wouldn't be so bad if I could slack off work by doing something unrelated, but mildly constructive. I always feel that to purposely go sit down and intentionally begin something else when I'm meant to be working on something is a no-no. Instead I lurk forums, surf aimlessly, catch up on webcomics, watch TV, do lots of small, pointless things and never get anything done.

Eh, this is turning into a longer comment just with my griping.

*skimskimskim* Oh yes, nailed Blasphemy. You just keep getting these characters spot on. It was a pleasure to read, as usual (I would read it again, I swear, it's just my brain keeps interrupting to tell me I'm supposed to be working).

I'd like to say more, cuz I know you work hard on this (it shows). But I can't. Not right now.

We also need to stop breaking promises to put it on the site...

... yeah, uh... yeah....

There was another possibility that I know Lothar was tossing around; I don't want to say anything else because I'm not sure whether or not it flew. I'd have to ask Lothar in person.

Thanks for the great comments, everyone. For some reason I've been avoiding posting in this topic unless I had an update--because it's sort of an updates page in that regard--but I did have to say that I really appreciate all the thumbs-up and helpful comments.

More DP will be with you... eventually!

Awesome story Redfox. I'm going to do a fanfiction of my own. But your fic blew me away. I've never, in my whole life-journey ever come across a story so good, and i haven't even finished reading this yet! So, do ypu just post a link up to your fic to submit it?
Thanks :D

Took me long enough. Still, summer's here. That means:

Dire Peril: Part V added!

While the bumbling trio plot their course for Okakir, employing a few simple math tricks and skirting a medium disaster, Rogue is busy pissing off Tirzah... and he likely won't enjoy the results.

By the way, is the spacing and margins working out for everyone? Before it looked fine on my computer, but at my school all the text would be shifted way over to the right. Now it looks okay on my comp as long as it's at full width, but I think it might get really, really squashed on a small monitor. Lemme know how it's working out.

Enjoy!

A cool continuation of the story. Took a while for it too but it was worth it.

Gotta love this bit though.

A fish hit him in the face. Rather, he hit a fish in the face. The fish did not like being hit by Lothar’s face. It actually disliked the experience of the impact to an extent to which it quickly and painfully perished.

It jsut dripped with sarcasm that it was hilarious.

And the premiere EN fanfic does it again.

Good job Redfox!

Personally I felt there was perhaps just a tad slow plot development going on in this one, however it seemed more humour oriented than the others, hence it fitted in well to avoid such a criticism.

The fish thing was, as my friend put it. "Very Hitchhikers." ;)

I suppose it is worth pointing out that there are two machine gods. Fernex is the Dark God of Machines, and Gruss is the Justice God of Machines. Part V read as if there were only Fernex, which is somewhat untrue.

That niggle aside, not a bad read. :)
