  • The radio is by far and large pants. Only KDST is worth listening to, as the talk radio station is so short. Radio X is pretty poor fare (The host is very amusing though), and everything else is practically shite. The commercials are very good though, such as Hampshire Nannies (You'll only truly appreciate this if you've played GTA 3 and VC) and de Koch Jewellers (Shut that bitch up with ice!). Sadly, the only good show on WCTR is Area 53, as the comments made by the host are solid gold. Sadly, he gets barely 5 minutes of airtime.
Also, Lazlow, Fernando Martinez and Maurice Chavez don't show up. Lazlow gets a few seconds as a caller on WCTR, but really, that's it.
  • Tommy Vercetti is far, far cooler than CJ will ever be. CJ is pretty much a "good guy", whereas Tommy was a self-confessed "convicted, psychopathic, murdering drug-dealer." That and Tommys shirt and wit kicked ass.
  • Sawn-offs are fun. AK-47's are better. Desert Eagles make getting up in the morning worth it.
  • Dual wielding is cool. Duel-wielding sawn-offs is so much fun it should be illegal. It probably is, come to think of it. Master Chief can kiss my arse.
  • OG Loc/Jeff is an annoying twat, Ryder is a bloody moron, Big Smoke is pretty aggrivating and Sweet is thick as a plank it seems.
  • Officer Tenpenny, as voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, is the coolest villain ever. Officer Pulaski, voiced by Chris Penn (Wise Guy Eddie of Reservoir Dogs fame) is pretty cool too.
  • Flying planes is wonderful, though not when you're chased through downtown Los Santos with a Hydra on your tail, and you're roughly a metre above rooftops.
  • Shooting up gangsters is amusing, especially when they loose their bottle and run.
  • Officer Tenpenny really is that cool.
  • Hydrualics are bloody annoying.

Get a bit farther and Laslow (in one of the funniest interviews I've ever heard) and Fernando (less funny, but still funny) will show up.

I love how the radio list actually changes with time. Sometimes I just tune into WCTR just to hear the news lady talk about the latest insanity I just committed.

Gotta agree with you on just about every point there, but to be fair that's just how bad the radio was in the early nineties. Kinda hard to get around that fact.

yep...the radio pretty much bites (except for the exceptional few) but i just drown the lame radio out with the bloody screams and splatting sounds of the people who unfortunately get in the way of my car

Indeed the radio on San Andreas doth suck! When it comes to X-box I'll be putting on my D-12 albums along with some Iron maiden stuffs YAY

Anyways... I like CJ over Tommy simply because CJ has morals...

He's out to help his family Blah blah blah ETC, ETC...
Dual wielding does indeed kick ass, And you look very cool doing it with CJ in a black suit and a fro..

In a game where you play a criminal, in a game named after a crime, in a game where you can murder people in horrific ways...

I'd rather not play a whiny little bitch.

At the end of the day its all don't to personal opinion... If you don't like playing CJ *AKA Whiny Little Bitch* Thats perfectly ok... But I like him O.o That doesn't mean to say I didn't like Mr Vercetti though... The guy in GTA 3 was kinda crappy.... He had no name and no backstory.... he didn't even talk.

The GTA3 Guy is named Claude. Oddly enough, he was in GTA2 as well, though never mentioned... he was just the Guy. Claude never speaks because it's a quasi-throwback to the old-skool GTA when you tended to fill in your side of the conversation in your head, allowing you to develop the character as you saw fit.

Personally, I think Claude kicks ass. Not as much ass as Tommy kicks, but certainly more than CJ. That said, if CJ was just a cold-blooded, wise-cracking killer like Tommy, he'd probably be the coolest of all due to the wonderful duel-wielding of sawn-off shotguns.

Tommy never paled around with Woozie or The Truth (Woozie especially, because Woozie is THE MAN!). Therefore, Tommy < CJ. :D

Tommy wasn't in a game where you had to play a Dance Dance Revolution knock-off to progress. Seriously, that mission is getting on my fucking nerves.

If I wanted to play DDR, I'd buy it. If I wanted to play it in game, a mini-game would be most satisfactory. FORCING me to play it pisses me off. Hell, at least let me steal the van via gunning the DJ down.

Fucking stupid Jeff and his shitty, retarded dancing mission.

You're having problems with that? Man, I cranked those rhythm missions out on the first try. Maybe I'm just good with rhythm. If it helps, remember that you'll want to press the button to the beat.

And it's not Jeff, man. It's OG Loc. He's a straight-up GANGSTA, like Ali G. :)

but those dancing missions are so stupid! there not a challenge at all! im glad they made the game a little more interisting by adding all those little challenges (game systems, pool table, etc) but the dancing thing is just a total waste of time.ANYONE COULD BEAT IT!!!

And yet I'm not anyone.

I've been thinking about the character stuff a bit today.

As a writer, I can actually kinda understand why Rockstar made CJ the way they did. The main thing is I think they wanted to try to take the story in a different direction. I mean, the games would eventually get boring if the story was always the same (for example, Final Fantasy. I have no time for that series anymore because it has this problem).

Really, one of the easiest ways to change how the story flows is to change the personality of the protagonist. Hence why CJ and Tommy have different personalities.

Well, I managed to do OG Loc's first two missions, both of Tenpennys, the penultimate Sweet mission, leaving just two of Loc's, one of Sweet's and Cesars sole mission before I unlock the final missions for Los Santos. GLEE.

Okay, here's a BIG BIG BIG tip for Cesar's race: You don't have to haul ass all the way. Granny-drive the turns and burn it on the straightaways. Once you get in the lead with that tactic, they'll never catch you.

well that works for most of the time.but you have to also watch out for them at the corners.every time i take the turn slow they always end up crashing into me and as a result of that i get my car flipped and i lose the race.stupid computer cars....

So I'm bored, and for shits and giggles I go for a flight, out into the sea, away from everything. About half a game day goes by, and i accidently fly too low and "crash". So I swim back. Two game days later and CJ is still miles away from the shore.

That too.

I was kinda surprised to hear the Claude chappy from GTA3 is in it. Although there are plenty of good examples of having a character with no personality except what you make of it yourself (Quest for Glory series), I didn't reallt think it suited GTA.

It might have been interesting to see the Respect system from GTA2 make an appearence in one of the newer ones. Anyone remember that?
