Yup, they switched engines. Again. Apparently they switched to the Doom 3 engine. As for the actual game content and stuff? Nada. The only latest screenshots and movie wase made 4-5 years ago. Why can't they stick to the Unreal engine they were working on and get on with the game? sigh, guess we'll never know. However, they did say that it might come out in 2005. I stress the word "might". |

Ha! I remember buying my first PC magazine, in late '97/early '98, with a preview of DNF. It won't ever be released. Simple as that. As soon as it comes out, it'll be Daikatana all over again. |

3D Realms tried to appease the fans by DN: Manhatten Project. Kinda sucked in my op. Your prob right that it mostly be another Daikatana or not get released at all. That or they surprise us completely and release it and its on par with HL2 or even Halo 2. *Gasp! |

Hah, not likely. At least anybody actually working on DN Forever is garuanteed a job for several years. Which of course assumes anybody is actually -working- on it. |

Dunno what your complaining about. C&C Generals is a decent successor to the C&C series in my opinion. Just a different branch of the C&C tree thats all. Never heard of C&C Red Alert: Ivan's Revenge. |

On the subject of Animal Crossing. The game is really huge and has a lot of text. If nintendo were to bring it to the UK they would've had to translate all of that text into several languages. You see NOE stands for Nintendo of EUROPE not Nintendo of Britain. Anyway the point is that they thought the demand wouldn't be worth the hassle but after many demands from Nintendo fans they just decided to cave in and do it. To put in in perspective Animal crossing was out in America jan/feb 2003 (I think), we didn't get it until September 2004. Although that was a one off. The last bad delay we suffered that I can remember was Metroid prime which we didn't get for half a year. But we do get out own back occasionally. We were the first to have the new Mario Kart. |

Funny. We got KOTOR a few weeks after the USA release, which has an equal ammount of text. Nintendo are just lazy shites who couldn't care less about Europe. Simple as that. |

You also realise an English-language PAL version was availible for at least 6 months before UK release, in Austrailia? Whilst it's not a multi-lingual version, it's still a massive chunk of the work done. It doesn't take over a year to translate any game. Nintendo are just lazy fucks too busy trying to milk the Pokemon craze and make yet more sequals to Mario Party, rather than provide decent support to Europe and, indeed, make games that are actually worth a damn after a few days of play. |

Ace Combat 5's been treating me pretty well in my post-Snake Eater days. I'm not terribly far, but I think I'm almost to the point where the shit epicly hits the fan. |

You have a point about them making lame games recently. Nintendo have hardly been on form. Donkey Konga won't last longer than a week and it's the only one I've played so far. Of course I still want Metroid prime 2, Pikmin 2, Legend of Zelda: the minish cap, and Paper Mario 2. In terms of delays though NOE have gotten a lot better since the days where Freeloader was a necessity. Then again Nintendo have been working on the DS. |
