Fluff the magic dragon~
|
How had he come to be here? The young dragon stood, pausing as he contemplated the past months. Nothing seemed to make sense. He didn't know why he was here, truly, in any respect. He didn't know why he was here, standing in the rain, staring at a distant light obscured almost entirely by the storm. He didn't know why he was even in this world, or the body he now inhabited, much as he was grateful for a change from the old ones. This body felt more in line with what he felt he was, though it was foreign to him... Yet even so, questions of mystery upon mystery nagged at him. There were things he could not remember. He could not clearly say when his human life had ended, nor could he remember at all what had happened afterward, up to the time he'd crashed into Madrid. There was simply nothing there, yet even after memory resumed, there was a strange haze in his thoughts. He didn't remember how he left that town, nor did he remember much of his life he'd had in the forest. It all blurred together; even though some prominent things stood out in his memory, so many things relating to them were beyond his grasp. He knew not what had befallen the fox woman and the fire mage after the encounter with the burning insects in the forest, nor did he recall how he and Lorialette had escaped the vampire's curse, how they parted, nearly anything. Nor did he recall when he had left the cabin in the woods that had held the hated fugitive and the dying woman. All he knew was that he was going somewhere, on a whim or some stranger's fell desire, he couldn't say. He'd found himself wandering without reason, leaving the forest that he'd hunted in for months for unknown territory. He couldn't say for sure that he was drawn by any outside force; though it seemed likely, it also could simply be something akin to the strange wanderlust that had urged him to wander aimlessly through storms years ago. He had never heeded the call, anxiety overcoming the potentially self-destructive desire to fling himself into the unknown, but here he had something akin to it again, that he was listening to. Perhaps it was simply because he had nothing to lose- Regardless of whether what he felt now was the same in the past, or if both were a call by some unknown entity, here he was, and he would follow it to the end. There was nothing left that this madness could take from him. He was alone. With a sigh, he continued his journey. His eyes were sharp, but through the rain and darkness he only barely saw the flickering lights of torches miles away from him. As he walked, mud squelched through his paws, and he found it odd that he felt no distaste for the filth. In his old life, he had always hated dirtying himself or his clothes such. Yet, perhaps that had been only because he dreaded the cleanup, and now, with his magic, removing it from himself was nigh unto effortless. Slowly, the light in his vision grew brighter, clearer. He was nearing his destination, or perhaps merely a step along the way. Anxiety grew within him, a worry of what was to come, but also an impatience. He knew for certain now that he was searching for something, though he still didn't understand what. His pace quickened more and more as he approached the city, heedless of the thunder which assaulted his ears and the lightning which struck around him again and again, almost seeming to him in his nearing frenzied state as if it were following him, growing closer and more frequent as he approached the city. When he was but a hundred meters from the city edge, Seian saw lightning strike within the city, three times in rapid succession, less than a mile away from him. He hesitated for a brief moment, before breaking out in a run despite himself. He dashed through the city gates, leaving the guards posted by the open doorway to scratch their heads, wondering if the dark streak that had just run through had even been real. Seian ran through street and alley to a destination he could not begin to fathom, until finally he reached an open place where he saw a lot that was covered in ash. The dragon's steps slowed, and finally he stopped, only a few feet away from where he knew a building had stood not long ago. The embers were still hot, perhaps only hours ago there had been life here, in what Seian guessed had been a tavern before the flames had taken it, judging by the sign that sat forgotten on the ground. Certainly there was not life here now, or at least not in a strict sense. Something was here though, and he felt emotions emanating from the embers, rage and sorrow at all that had turned to ash. There was a spirit here that had clung desperately to life even though all was lost, and Seian was suddenly aware of what seemed like a faint, haunting melody of anguish that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once. Why was he here? And what could he do about it? |

A storm was brewing in Reine a massive raining stormy piece of mess. In other parts of Soto the rain hit as well. The rain hit his mansion with an iron thud. As the drops of rain pounded on his steel mixture of iron and silverish brick roof. Mammon stood looking out the window in his purple clothing and purple pointed shoes."Such a mess. I wanted to go to a tavern that dished out a good Clam Chowder." He said slowly towards himself. The big man moved from the window and simply walked towards his wardrobe. He got dressed in a thick blue and orange clothing and put on black boots. He took his massive bear fur coat, his sword, staff, and five hundred coins. He would open the door as the wind blew against his face hard Mammon begun to move out after shutting the door. As Mammon moved past the city and made his way towards the Lands of Reine. The storm itself heaved and there thunder. And something went into flame. Mammon eyes blinked once or twice as the smoke arise from afar. Mammon quickly made his way towards the smoke haze. Only to arrive at the tavern being nothing. Simply nothing it was now Ash. He would look shocked at whatever just happened. It was so fast. (Apologizes for the small post.)
