Goggles? Check! Frankly amazing codpiece inspired by people with octopus heads complete with real wriggling action (trademarked by himself, about ten minutes ago) Check! He snapped the goggles back into place and gave a thumbs up to the assembled crowd. "I am Gozrik Krauswich, and when this works you owe me two silver pieces, a small donkey and a hat!" he yelled. He had to be quite loud for everyone to hear him, after all he was halfway up a lighthouse. The lighthouse was on a hill. The bet had been quite simple. He would not be able to knock over the lighthouse and ride it down the hill, hitting an archery target they had set up. If he proved the statement incorrect, well, he won the items described. If he lost then he had to pay for a round of drinks. As in, actually pay and not steal, blackmail, murder, cheat, bamboozle or gain through an argument carried out entirely in interpretive dance. He also was not allowed to offer his firstborn son in exchange, especially as he had no idea who that could be, And denied responsibility. There must be hundreds of black, dwarven men who owned ships and frequented all the ports he did. He took the cigar from his mouth and raised it salute, and then lit the fuse and began preparing to climb out the window and onto the saddle he had tied into place. Silence. The gentle hiss as the flame worked its way... And then a boom loud enough to shake animals from their trees. Which was not a metaphor, as many suddenly ground bound squirrels discovered. Slowly the building collapsed, pointing downhill, at the harbour, with Gozrik pulling himself into position, and the codpiece just holding up. There was a creak as it began moving. Gozrik placed his cigar to the second fuse, inside the window. A few moments later a series of explosions propelled the tower into motion. The cigar flew from his mouth as he clung onto the rocking horse head he had attached in front of him, screaming and wooping as the lighthouse smashed trees and cute little critters aside. "I AM THE AWESOMEST AWESOME OF ALL AWESOME!" he began, enjoying the taste of like, five million bugs as the tower cleared the improvised ramp and shot above water. For a few moments he was flying, and he reached and raised his stetson into the air in classic cowboy style. It was thrown from his hand as the building landed in the water, skimming slightly as it rapidly lost speed. It suddenly came to a halt as it hit the mouth of one of the Reine dockyards, throwing Gozrik from his saddle into a large cart of pomegranates. Everything span for a few moments. And tasted funny. It tasted... Non alcoholic. He immediately jumped out of the cart and shook himself loose. Luckily he still had his goggles on. And his codpiece. And his cowboy boots. His duster was in pretty good shape too, although had been made a little fruity. And otherwise he was naked, so no worries. Just as he was noticing how amazing he was he saw something else. Right next to him. Standing, perfectly fine, was an archery target. Huh. He knocked it over whilst whistling innocently and grinned. Success! He ran over to the harbour, looking down onto the now trapped ships within. A lot of people looked really angry. He wondered how long it would take them to realise that seeing as him and his fellows from the top of the hill had been in town the night before all the explosives had been stolen for some silly dare involving a lighthouse. Then he giggled because he was awesome, and pulled another cigar as well as his pistol from his codpiece. |

The Councilor had always been one for punctuality but one too many unexpected, last second affairs had caused enough delays to make her notably late for her arrival in Reine. Three days behind schedule meant she would miss the ship to Angkar but she was confident. She immediately drew a mental list of who she knew and thought about just how many strings she could pull to find a last second voyage to the island nation. Her former guild once more pulled through for her and she managed to find passage on mercantile ship that schedule to leave that day. The Providence was a spectacular vessel. Rhia paced toward the ship, moving to board now. The Councilor’s belongings were already stowed on board. Nothing more could go wrong…until she heard a sound not unlike the one she heard on the fateful day her alchemy lab had detonated. Eyes shot wide to the source and watched. A stout figure rocketed over the pay and then…was that the lighthouse? Rhia scrambled away, turning on heel and stumbling before the building plummeted into the bay. Rhia’s gazed silently at the bay. So much for arriving in time for the party. Her eyes fell upon the figure in that emerged from the cart and seemed to be preoccupied with the cigar in their mouth, some makeshift target and the growing crowd of people. There was going to be quite the mob; where was the guard when you needed them? Her experiences in Ashoka told her to walk away, but she had half a mind to wonder how this happened and half a mind to scream at the one responsible for this. For now, Rhia merged with the crowd and watched. Now that she was closer she could see that the stout man was clearly a dwarf and he was brandishing something she barely knew about. For now she supposed she’s wait and see how this played out. |
