SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

    Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

    Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

    Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

    Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    - Type 36M Blaster -- "Magazine" Holds a number of small magical orbs charged with energy. Can't be fired without some magical input from the user, though -- overheats fairly quickly due to the nature of the weapon, but each shot is powerful.
    - Shoulder-Mounted Magic Missiles -- A bevy of containers used to deal heavy damage to larger/more armored targets. Fires magical missiles from each one. One shot per tube before having to "reload".
    - Personal Explosives -- Small ceramic containers filled with gunpowder. Simple, but effective.
    - Electrical Bursts -- Her suit is capable of expelling magical electric energy in a sphere around her. It's used to disable personnel if they get too close.

    Physical Appearance – Yggdra is an odd-looking sight, if she were to approach you without her armor -- which might be more often than not, these days. Her hair is snow-white, her skin is pale, and her eyes are a reddish color -- all results of experimentation done with her body to make her into the "perfect soldier". Most of her body shows obvious signs of muscle and conflict -- scars abound. She's quite tall at 6 feet exactly, and with her suit of armor on, she towers in at 6'6". What she chooses to wear around is actually quite simple -- a piece of black cloth tied around her chest to preserve her modesty and a pair of trousers with many pockets and containers. They're quite baggy, but are held up by a belt with two rows of holes. Her skin is quite smooth-looking, despite the already-talked-about scars and whatnot.

    Personality – Yggdra had been a ruthless and efficient soldier -- feeling truly alive during battle. However, she was not designed to be a killing machine, and knows how to interact with people. She's not very tuned in to her emotions, and therefore, can have difficulty trying to explain them. She may appear cold, but those she sees as a comrade or an ally will have the best protection they can possibly imagine -- maybe even too much! She's known for her unusually clean language, for a soldier, and quiet nature. She's definitely not ashamed of her body -- but doesn't quite view it as a sexual object. She likes children more than most other people, and won't tolerate violence towards them. Her speech is usually short and straight-to-the-point as well, and usually, she won't speak unless spoken to. She's got a good heart at her core, though.

    History – Yggdra was a normal girl who lived in a city unmarked on any map -- the mages who ruled over it were suspicious and paranoid outsiders would come to take its secrets. Its past had been rife with conflict, though, and she'd been chosen out of a lottery to serve as part of a defense force. This lottery would soon determine her fate -- she had been young at the time, and was given extensive and rigorous training. The powerful mages that resided in the city had chosen her as a prime candidate for a new type of experiment to create the 'perfect soldier', even building a huge suit of magical armor to outfit her with. The experiments aimed to change her physical state, mixing her blood with that of giants, fae, elves, dwarves -- trying to create a 'perfect' human. These experiments were often painful -- the magical infusion of blood often was. Runes were inscribed on the inside of the armor, painstaking care taken to make sure she was the only one who would or could wear the hulking piece of armor. Weapons were made for her -- she had been chosen to defend the city.

    Soon after many skirmishes, she grew tired. Tired of defending the same old place every day, and so in the dead of night she took off, trying to pursue some kind of purpose beyond fighting for paranoid mages that could surely defend a city without subjecting any more children to experiments. She took the armor with her -- She deemed it much too valuable to leave behind, and after all, it was hers, wasn't it? Now she wanders the world, trying desperately to find a place where someone who knows only war can fit in.


    First Five Abilities
    • Charge – Allows her to use her own magical energy to charge the mechanism and fire her Blaster and use the suit's other abilities. Takes a lot out of her, physically, and if she's spent, she can't use any of its abilities or fire her blaster. Takes a day to recharge, and she must be in the suit to control any of these. She can also deflect up to five simple spells using a charge -- using any of these in combination wears her out faster. She has a maximum of 20 charges.
    • Armor-Wearing – Allows her to don and use her suit of armor, due to the runes inscribed on the inside of it. She's very slow inside of it, but the armor is thick and very tough. It can turn away most sharp melee weapons and up to five simple spells, but each spell takes a charge to deflect.
    • Enhanced Strength – Due to the experiments performed on her, she's quite strong - about 1.5x stronger than your average human.
    • Enhanced Reflexes – Experimentation made her react faster in situations that demand it. She's about 1.5x faster at reacting than an average human.
    • Enhanced Speed – Experimentation has her moving even faster than an average human, too, outside of the suit. She's about 1.5x faster than your average human.
