Today is a super special day. Today Elly officially turns eight years old! I cannot believe how quickly time has passed by, and it is thanks to the members and the staff that Elly has made it to eight years—a feat you don't really see on forums these days. The dedication that you all have put into Elly is what has made this forum what it is today, and I can't thank any of you enough. I didn't really know what I was getting into when she was created back in 2004 and we sort of just fumbled our way around, but I didn't think she'd make it to eight years. I've learned a lot and I continue to learn, and while I would not jump at the opportunity to be a mod/admin on a forum again (the sheer amount of work involved is actually startling and I don't think people really know what they're getting into when they first start out), I've enjoyed being one here and I'm so glad that I've been able to watch and admin the forum since its inception. You guys are fantastic and I think you're all wonderful people! I'm so, so glad that we've had a place to roleplay together at and I think that Elly will be here for many more years to come. HAPPY EIGHTH BIRTHDAY ELLY! Now, some of you have been here basically from the start, back in 2004 when things were waaaay different than they are now, and some of you have just started your journey here. Regardless, the staff and I thought it would be nice to have a "Share your favourite Elly moments" thread, since this birthday isn't quite a milestone, but is still important nonetheless. These moments can be anything: IC, OOC, from the time when we had IC deities to now when we have sovereigns instead, etc. These moments can be absolutely anything you want them to be! We'd love to hear from you. But before we dive into all of the crazy fun things that have happened here, I just want to say: Thank you so, so, so much everyone for being a part of this forum and for being awesome people. You make running a forum absolutely worthwhile and I have no regrets about anything I've done. <333333 Let's keep the memories going for years to come! EIGHT years? Man! That is impressive, very, very impressive. May it continue for many more years! Posting in the raid was definitely one of my favorite Elly moments, although this upcoming Gozrik thread is also looking very nice. And, of course, chatbox shenanigans and getting to know everyone! |

Ommgggggg elly! Happy birthday! May you have many many many many etc more! I may not have been here for the duration of that, to watch you grow up and all that. But I can certainly say that the people here have made my settling in. wonderful and I will take away many heart-warming memories. Now I don’t have anything RP related, to say is my best memory, but certainly when I told everyone about my illness; the response I got… well it made me cry. Not in a bad way mind you; I’m just sappy like that, I’ve always been a lone wolf type, I don’t have man RL friends and I certainly don’t fit in social situations. I’ve had to pretend to be someone I’m not to get to the places I have been in my life. But getting the response and the support I did, just made me realise that I am not alone anymore and now I have lots of friends who care about me allot. And I don’t need to pretend anymore, I can just be me. I’ve always depended on myself rather than others and its only now that I am learning, that I don’t need to do that anymore, because its hard facing the universe on your own. But here is a bunch of people from all over the world, whom I share a common interest in sharing/writing stories with. And they feel with me. I don’t think there can be anything more rewarding. So thank you elly for being around as long as you have to find these awesome people who have made my world just a little bit brighter. |

Eight years eh? I ent been there for all of it but that is a good run, and it still looks to be going strong to me. I think perhaps one of my favourite moments happened only a couple of months after I arrived. The Dark Conquest plot was going on and I had signed Sophia (at that point a nobody) up for the "good" guys. All well and good. And then I got a PM saying that, having seen my profile, they thought Soph might fit in well with the "evil" dudes. It may not sound like much, but the fact that the effort was made to get a new player involved in something a little more than a "Join up, do nothing for ages" (and ironically probably moved her character more towards the back stabby side switcher she is today at the same time), the fact that someone had looked and thought that Sophia might fit well there... It just spoke a lot of the community here and was a big part in keeping me around at points where I felt doubtful. In the years I have been here that have been a lot of good moments, too many to remember. I hope that others can enjoy and feel as at home here as I do for much time to come. So, happy birthday Elenlond, I raise a glass to you. |

Well I really haven't been here very long, especially after such a lengthy absence, so I haven't really established myself here yet. But, as someone who had been looking for a RP site for (literally) a few years I'm really glad that I had found this place. Everyone here has been incredibly friendly and when I finally finished this semester that's definitely one of the reasons I made sure to venture back. Anyway, congratulations on eight years. As someone who has joined quite a few sites most tended to fizzle out around the one to two year mark. Compared to that, eight years is definitely impressive and something to celebrate. |

Yay, happy birthday Elly! Time really flies when you think about it, it doesn't feel that long but it's almost been a whole year since I joined haha...I still have Ephie to thank for that, and it was lovely breaking the extended uh...five-six year absence from writing? I don't think I could possibly list all my favourite memories. There are so many points I've laughed out loud hard enough to be breathless, and sad, gut wrenching and heart twisting moments in each character's story...not to mention the wonderful company you all provide! :3 I guess I'd have to say cbox/messenger shenanigans are just...yeah. It still amazes me how open and friendly everyone here is. I tried a few other sites on the side and nothing can even come close to the general warmth and involvement you guys give here. So for that...thank you  I hope you keep going for many more years to come Elly, and bring many more people the same, if not greater entertainment that you've given me since joining! *Giant party poppers go here* |

I for one am vary happy and grateful elly has been around so long. It has given me a great deal, from a place to dump my muse, to companionship and friendly ears. I've met some amazing and remarkable people on here. Many who are still running the site (kudos to shadow). I have to thank Red for helping me find this place. So many memories, that are years old because I fell of line for quite literally like two years. Thankfully a few still remember me. I'm looking forward to making many more new and wonderful friends, and getting reacquainted with some of the old ones. So far my fondest memories of Elly is the day I managed to locate the site again and found that it was still here, and running. For that I think the site mods and admin, as well as all the members that have come and gone, some to return again. Deserve big hugs and thanks. I have missed this site more then anyother. Happy B-day Elly! |

Whee! I realised that it's been nearly one year since I joined...crazy!! I'd say my favourite Elly memory is when I had mono/glandular fever and rather than spending my time being miserable, I posted A LOT and I became friends with everyone and it was great. :3 Other than that, Elly was one of the things that helped pull me out of some rather serious depression, so thank you for that. Even now, when things tend to be difficult and inconsistent, Elly helps keep me going, especially since I became moderater. I've definitely improved as a person and a writer and a large part of that is due to being here. I love you guys! : D <3 |
