SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

    Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

    Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

    Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

    Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    Weapons – None that he carries with him, but he is already skilled in many weapon types

    Physical Appearance – He is five foot six, lean and pale. His hair is a very dark brown, straight and a little past shoulder length - often in a ponytail. Eyes are a light green. His face is a little gaunt but not too thin, with a little bit of stubble on his chin and along the sides of his face. His nose is thin and a little long, and his eyebrows are thick but a little lighter than his hair.
    He tends to wear nice, "noble" or "highborn" clothes either stolen, bought or conjured. These are often silk shirts and dress pants or dark, ornately designed robes.

    Weaknesses and ways to kill (as a vampire):

    Abilities

    • Natural Healing V - He heals himself as quickly as vampires can, really. Shallow cuts/abrasions/so on are healed instantly, anything deeper tends to take several seconds. Broken bones and internal bleeding may take as much as a few minutes, and dislocated joints and such can be relocated with ease.
    • Enhanced Senses V - Everything is intensified about 4x most of the time. With the aid of both vampiric abilities and a little magic, he can make his senses more or less sensitive. The highest sensitivity he can achieve without the help of magic is 6x, sometimes 7x (depending on a variety of factors). With magic he can temporarily (temporarily because he chooses to, partially out of common sense and partially out of not wanting his magic drained so much - but temporarily generally refers to a few minutes as that's all the time he normally needs it for) sensitize himself up to 10x that of the average human. So long as there is little to no interference, this means being able to hear for miles and smell months old odours, as examples.
    • Vampiric Speed V - At his fastest speed, he is a blur (or can appear to "teleport" except for wind from passing and the like) to all but those with comparable speed or highly magically enhanced comprehension.
    • Vampiric Strength V - He can easily throw/kick people far distances. Not much presents a problem to him; obviously he cannot pick up mountains or the like, but trees aren't usually too hard.
    • Compelling V - Eye contact has to be made, but this is about the only thing keeping him from successfully compelling anyone. You must have an extremely powerful mind protection of some sort. That, or if you can outrun him...



    • Magic Resistance VII - He has 50% resistance to all magics, so 150% resistance to any sort of undead oriented (like controlling) magic, light (as in very very bright) magic, and fire magic.
    • Invisibility IX - Can cloak himself and as many others as he wishes. Effect is immediate for him and any others. For others, it comes with "controls" of a sort. The invisibility shield becomes it's own power source if they're going to part ways, with a small thread of connection back to Beinv that can be switched on or off (he can deny an incoming connection or cut off a still-existing one). The cloak can also be turned off and used later; it converts into a small clear cylinder with a silvery substance inside and a black lid that must be opened facing the user. If it's opened facing someone else it will give it to that being, and if it's opened facing nothing it simply will not come out. If the cylinder is broken, the power remaining goes back to Beinv.
    • Blood Manipulation V - With his affinity for and need of blood comes an ability to manipulate it. This is not limited to actual, physical blood. He can draw blood out through an existing cut, albeit slowly - no faster than if he was sucking it through his mouth. He can control as many as five people, but this will drain him of his magic if he goes beyond a few minutes. He can also control blood "vines" - their hold is as strong as the average human, perhaps a little weaker, and if broken will splash blood over the victim.
    • Telepathy III - He can send you words or images regardless of resistance (though you won't receive them since you have a shield up unless you set it up differently), but can not actually get into your mind if you have good enough of a barrier (which means anything more than 75% or similar level).
    • Summoning I - Can summon normal and mythical animals. Humanoids as well (humans, elves, anthros, dwarves, hobbits, orcs, so on...) and often half human types (like mermaids and half elves). Demons, chimera, fae, angels, constructs and spirits are out of his range. This requires either the name of the creature (and no resistance to this type of thing), or a true name. True names are nearly impossible to get, since most will not even know their's.
    • Weapon Proficiency V - He can learn how to handle a new weapon very quickly, and a few hours with him in constant practice will render him what you could call, at the very least, masterful or expertly skilled with it. He has mastered almost any weapon you could name by this point in his life.
    • Conjuration III - Similar to summoning for obvious reasons, but these are items created rather than summoned (therefore already existing). This is mostly used for coins or clothes but he's trained to conjure larger, heavier things such as weapons, armour, furniture, and even living things (but this is very difficult to do correctly as the life will often be snuffed out in the process of conjuration).
