"Alright, Emperor and Empress in Morrim... Puppeteer in Ashoka Desert... Council in Soto..." she nods. "Who rules in Angkar, and are there any particular laws that cross all borders? What sort of 'genocide' for lack of a better term? Think I should just tell people I hit my head, and don't remember much about life here?" she grinned. Be so much easier than learning -everything-. "Why was Morrim targeted, specifically, and by whom?" she continued. "Kaadian way is basically the 'no one owns us' section? What sort of structure does it utilize, for government, protection, and the like?" |

“Kaadin is completely undisputed territory that is simply not owned. I don’t think they have a government and I wouldn’t know. Angkar is a kingdom, ruled now by Hemlock LeFleur whom is speculated to have played a hand in the assassination of former ruler Razarod Evermore. His wife and daughter fled the country afterwards. Probably out of fear.” Tekun covered point after point. “As for genocide. Hunger. War. Cruelty. Starvation. Utter chaos. I don’t know the entire detail by Andromailous took the throne from Isra by force. Isra disappeared for the longest time, leaving The Banshee King in charge. He waged a war and then just like that. abandoned throne for no sensible reason. Meanwhile, the land suffered for unknown reasons. I still don’t know the entire details of that. But it caused widespread famine. With no one on the throne. Nero tried to take hold, keeping things how they were, or trying to in case the Empress returned.” He took a breath. “I got caught up in it due to personal loyalties to the leader of my land. Call it patriotism. Anyway, revolution occurred, squabbling. And then…She returned and the famine stopped. The revolutions stopped. She is how she was. Not some false replacement. You worry about these things. After all this, it’s time to rebuild. Before Orion starts a war due to his insanity. Morrim can’t afford to be hit hard again.” |

Anna nods, narrowing her eyes. A lot to take in. She didn't like this Banshee King fellow. "Any idea where she'd gone, or why she returned when she did..?" she yawned, covering her mouth with her hand. "I think I rather like the Kaadian Way, so far, as far as places to be go." she thought for a moment. "And again, major overarching laws? I assume murder, thievery, and arson are all considered illegal everywhere, but anything else?" She sighed. There was certainly a lot to learn, and she really did enjoy the prospect of learning... but these were all pop culture things. Something she'd never really been interested in. She was a name-face-magic-type type of person, and her homeland had always been simple enough to fill her head with nothing but. She was hopeful that his ally could get her home, even if he was the one that spread war and famine about the land. She was equally hopeful that Tekun didn't plan to fight the man, though she would likely back him, if he did, having heard the particular story she'd just been told. |

“I didn‘t ask and it‘s not my place to ask her. Things are kept secret for a reason. I can‘t say but it is the Empress and yeah, the typical crap like that. Common sense stuff. Nothing you’ll accidentally get in trouble for. Just stay out of Ashoka and you should be fine.” He emphasized staying out of there. Him going there meant everything would be for naught. He leaned back and then through Anna a pillow. “Listen at least use something. Roughing it right now might not be the best. Get a good rest while you can because it could be a while before you get the opportunity to actually sleep in and be comfortable. I don’t know how things were, but I’m sure even they understood the value of a good night’s rest.” Tekun mentioned. “Oh…one more thing. I have chronic nightmares and sometime have a habit of waking up screaming. I don’t sleep, been doing it more. I remember why. Maybe night will be good though.” He let his head hit his own pillow. “Anything else Anna? Like, personal vendettas? Plans for the future? Preferences of travel?” |

"Ummm, preferences for travel? I enjoy running... As for vendettas, I don't do hate... unless it's to people who rob others of their freedom. My current plans include being somewhat useful to you, at least to the point of earning my meals, and trust me, I can eat a sizable amount... and going home. If anything steps in the way of going home, then I've already got quite a few things that I believe I'll need to do... primarily, learning how to read." she sighed. "And probably some free high-gravity training, to boot." she nods. She slid the pillow behind her head, while she continued to lean against the wall. "Don't worry, I wake easily, so if you scream, it shouldn't take too long to fall back to sleep." she shrugs. "Hopefully we can get that fixed before I leave, as well." she thought for a moment. "Hopefully your drow, whatever that is, likes me." Anna -was- relatively sleepy. Apparently, time travel, to an alternate reality, along with higher gravity, and the probability of a concussion added up to something wonderful. Most would call them 'sweet dreams'. |

"Understand this. The slave trade does exist in this land. And it is not uncommon. I forget the laws of Morrim and Soto on the matter but understand that live auctions do occur. I don’t like it either but I need to know right here and now if this is going to be a prevalent issue. We can’t simply liberate every single thing we come across. It will only make our problems more difficult. Call it heartless but I need to have my priorities in order. I need your opinion though.” He explained. It also seemed they would still be traveling on foot. Fun. Well, at least that wouldn’t change. “I intended on fixing that soon anyway…and…wait? You have no idea what a Drow is?” Tekun raised an eyebrow with concern. “Oh dear…um. What about Dwarves? Elves? Orcs? Those kinds? Are angels and demons prevalent? I need to know how familiar you are with other races.” How was he suppose to explain to her how this was going to work. Ugh…this wasn’t going to end well. Especially if she had very freedom fighter and goodie goodie tendencies. Trouble was ahead and he knew it. It wasn’t that he didn’t mind doing good. It was just he had a lot on his plate and it caused problems. Especially considering his status. |

"I can reign myself in... I mean, upsetting the status quo does more damage than leaving it be... for now. My first priority is not to break your world... well, my second. I'm not going to get you killed, nor them killed in an attempt to set them free. Given the opportunity where I thought I could get away with it... now that's a different story." she didn't bother to lie. "I do foresee myself buying a few slaves and 'freeing' them, if that's even possible, if I can ever afford it, though. If that's even possible." she shrugs. "And what if I told you that I've been a slave? Would that change your mind, at all? The Presevers treated me well, but some of the immortals thought me more a plaything than I'd like. Fate forced me to kill a few people I cared about. Then, that's slavery of a different color, there was no choice there, he knew I wouldn't do it." she shook her head. "I'll be good, as long as I don't see something I -really- don't like." "I know angels and demons. None of those other things, though." she shook her head with a frown. "We had an awful lot of outsiders, but I've never met any of the other things you mentioned... mostly human with some sentient animals... a furry short animal-human hybrid... things. They called themselves Yordles." |

“I’ve done it more than a few times. Okay. That sounds good and I understand your view and I promise to consider how you feel. But I need to not make my situation or yours any worse for wear. Its harsh and…well. I’m sorry you went through that hell.” Tekun stated. “Immortals treating people like play things….Gods.” It was how he felt. It made him cringe. “All I ask is pull me aside. Talk to me. And not be rash. And I’m going to give you a brief tutorial about Drow.” Tekun took a deep breath. “The Drow are a near ageless ebony skinned, white haired people with pointy ears. They are often called Dark Elves. Their society is matriarchy, men are submissive. They are very traitorous and despise humans. They live in a place called the Underdark. The Underdark is a horrible place, you do not want to go there. Think of an underground complex of tunnels…that go on forever. Filled with predators who adapt and survive. There are other undesirable things like Mind Flayers and well…creepy crawlers in general. I digress. They live in cities in that place. They are a harsh people. I travel with one, a woman by the name of Shrista. She is not like other Drow but has some of their tendencies. Be patient and try to be tolerant of her. All I ask. Don’t need to get along but good help is hard to find Anna and I need all the help I can.” Yordles? Sounded like a snack food. He snickered. “Okay…so little tiny Halfling like people but fuzzy.” He laughed. “That’s…That’s cute.” |

Anna nods, softly. "Sound interesting... honestly, sounds like the Shuriman people as a whole." she shrugs. "And yeah... fuzzy halflings. Whatever a halfling is. If cute is a proper adjective, then definitely. Except when they're inventing, then definitely not. The little things are crazy." she grins. "The hunk of plastic in the corner, happens to have been made by a genius construct that used to be a yordle. She kept the intellect, but still hasn't succeeded in making any Anna-immune tech." she shrugs. "She -is- trying, though." "Our Shurimans were the ones constantly harassed by the void, they lived in a massive desert, and usually had palaces that dove beneathe the sand... as well as fortress-style cities. Both of which were typically the home of harsh desert-dwellers who had a propensity to assassination and murder... On the other hand, I've actually killed a few Mind Flayers... if those are the same tentacle-headed monsters I think you're talking about. Where I'm from, they were slaves to the void, usually. Had a knack for getting into people's heads and making them think joining was a good idea," she shrugged. "I'll be on my best behavior, but I have problems with being dishonest... unless it's for a joke." she grins slightly. "I'll do my best to talk to you about my problems, or Shrista." she shrugs. "I probably won't dislike her, too much, even if she is like a drow. My mother and father, or what passed for parents, had more than a few Shuriman tendencies." |

“Good. Now if you don’t mind love. I’m going to try to get some sleep. It’s late.” He gave a warm smile and then just let himself collapse on the bed and before he knew it. He had hit the snooze button. He lay limp on the bed, asleep. His mind and thoughts wandering. He’d awake the next morning. Sometime in the late afternoon assuming someone didn’t beat him to it. He slept well but dancing nightmares. Things that should not be lurked in his dreams. Things that taunted. He hadn’t woken, but was not sure what he exactly saw in his sleep now. He certainly did not feel at peace when he did. It was a different kind of restless. It bothered him greatly. When he came to, he looked about. This woman was here yet right? It wasn’t a dream? The pitter of patter of rain. It was a cloudy day. He wasn't aware that a storm had come or was coming. It was depressing somewhat. How sad. Yesterday had been so nice too. He took it as a sign of ill to come. |

Anna sat in front of the window, people-watching. In the gray, dreary light of the passing rain, she could make out the signs better... still gibberish. She heard the movement behind her, and ignored it, for now. He'd tossed and turned all night, might just be more of that. She wanted to look, because she -really- wanted to go outside. The room was starting to feel like a prison. A box. She'd woken up at around noon, and had unsuccessfully, though silently, tested her swordsmanship. The blades were definitely quite heavy in her hands. A shame, she'd grow accustomed to it, though, with time. Pit-a-pat. The rain continued. She'd missed her chance to sneak out, now people would be watching. She stood to move over to the fire for a moment... she'd visited it often in the night, and kept it going. Each time the log split and cracked, she'd poked it back into the proper position, and ensured that it stayed relatively well fed. |

“Feeding the flames?” Tekun asked her as he climbed out of bed with a yawn, he grabbed his shirt and slid it on. Rubbing his eyes. “Fucking…sonuva…” He grumbled beneath his breath and rubbed his forehead. “Bad dream…so odd. Not sure what it was.” He took a deep breath and sighed. Looking for his socks, sliding them on and then his boots. He stood out of the bed and stretched. Anna would note he was slightly shorter than the Tekun she knew. If only slightly. He rubbed his neck. “Howed you sleep. You look more than eager to get out of here.” Tekun moved about the room pacing before moving to the window. He looked outside. “Rain. Yesterday was pleasant too…” He about spoke to himself and yawned again. He gripped his periapt out of instinct and moved to the door. “We’ll get some breakfast.” He sighed. “All that banging and now a pretty lady following me out of the room in some exotic outfit.” He sighed. “This is maybe the second time this has happened. Well. Come along, let’s get some food and prepare for some rather funny looks. Patrons here are at least nice.” He twisted the knob which seemed to not exactly budge at first before he pushed and forced the door open. |
