SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    Name – Anna Chronos
Age – Appears 27, actually 35 (slowed aging)
    Gender – Female
Alignment – Chaotic, Good (though fiercely loyal)
Social Class – Literally not from around here, Street Rat?
Occupation – None Currently. Formerly a (failed) time traveler and Soldier
    Race – Scion(see below)
Equipment – Tangat (large kukri), Bastard Sword, Buckler, Breastplate, Silk Clothing

Physical Appearance – Anna stands at a surprising 6’3; tall for a woman, with a lithe, yet muscular build. She has long blonde hair, and blue eyes, with flowing garments. Her overall color scheme seems to be blue, silver and white. She wears a breastplate, probably made out of Mithril, along with legplates and a shoulderguard of the same material. She also wears mithril-plate gloves to protect her hands during combat, as any intelligent swordsman knows is required.

She carries at her side a rather large sword, with yet another crossing her back. She wears, on her right hand, a buckler. She has pierced cartilage on both ears, upon close examination, plain silver studs. She talks with a rather unusual accent.

Personality – Anna can be snarky, and witty, usually choosing to follow intuition over judgment. She tends to be exceptionally knowledgable, though given where she's from, a sizable portion of her knowledge no longer applies. Anna greatly enjoys company, and would prefer to chat to being silent. She is brash and often taunts opponents during combat.

In addition to all these things, Anna is fiercely against slavery, having been a slave herself... though she's not stupid, she'll find a way to fight the system, without getting herself killed, if possible. She also sees being locked up as being the equivalent to one of the worst fates imaginable... her punishment for breaking orders was generally being locked up until she was bored to tears. She has mild Claustrophobia and does -not- do well with being bound, as a result.

History – Anna Chronos hails from a land called Runeterra, it is there where she was born... cloned from an alternate reality's version of herself, with the purpose of one day being given a spark of divinity to help to reforge the ranks of the Pantheon and help to reforge the world away from the broken plane of existence that it had become.

It was there that she studied her abilities, something slightly beyond human to begin with, though with a dash of paradox, and an intimate familiarity with time magic. Due to the lack of available resources on her magic of choice, she took to learning about the other magics, tuning their patterns to use with her temporal energy to create effects where and when she could.

Growing up, she also trained under a man named Tekun, who used massively oversized weapons... she likewise learned to use oversized onehanded weapons from him, as she grew. She fought alongside the Preservers of Valoran to defend her world from an outside threat known as the void... and later to defend against an inside threat known as the one-masked demon. The One-masked Demon nearly spelled her demise, were it not for her fate, who stepped in, allowing her to escape.

Due to this overstep of her Fate's abilities, the god of Fate sentenced it to death... which would spell the end of Anna Chronos. Areia, a master strategist, moved her pawn into place... sacrificing Anna's freedom as an Avatar of Fate to put the young woman into the hands of Fate. He would protect her, until she was needed, and she would be of use to him until that time.

After countless years of slavery, tying up Fate's loose ends, Anna was selected to complete a duty she had already completed once: Go back in time and give vital information to help prevent the Preservers from losing any largescale battles... and more importantly, make the heads of their enemy question each other's abilities and motives.

That's where everything went wrong. Anna took the device in hand which had been designed to send her to the exact time and place she would be needed... and immediately vanished in a spark of void lightning... she was ripped away to a different time and place. She was deposited into a land called Soare.

Soare is vitally different from Runeterra... basic laws of physics are different. Gravity is heavier, magic doesn't work the same way... even time flows in a different pattern, and thus Anna, a seasoned warrior, is forced to relearn all of her old tricks, from the ground up. Assuming she even can. And she so badly needs to go home to complete her mission... and so she will learn, and grow, and adapt, until she can leave this world behind.

Race: Anna's Race is effectively a modified human. She ages slowly, by comparison, and also carries a bit of paradox in her body(she's missing a bit of divine spark), along with her 'mana' being raw temporal energy. She is literally a clone of herself from an alternate timeline.

    First Five Abilities
    • Temporal Magic I – Anna is able to haste herself, or slow a target at a short range. Her supply of magical energy -is- temporal energy, for better or worse. She cannot cast any spell that cannot operate as temporal energy. This is effectively manipulating the time energy into or from a specific area.
      Examples:
Her Haste can only be applied to herself at this level.
Her Slow is limited to a range of 15 feet and can only affect one target per cast.
The relative speed of the target is changed by 20%, good or ill for approximately 1 minute.
    • Paradox Essence – Similar to a Curse, Anna's very existence is Paradox to complex devices. When she comes into contact with a complex device(see below), she has a 50/50 chance of either causing it to cease function, or causing it to cease to need mundane wear-and-tear repairs for as long as a day. Should this be a trap, as an example, it might gain a bonus, or simply fail. She cannot turn this effect off. Examples include difficult locks, trap mechanisms, siege engines, any device with a significant amount of moving parts. Clockwork especially. ((Roll a DX, on even: Like clockwork. On odd: Slay Machine.))
    • Speed of Body I – Anna is faster than the average human, she wields her weapons with precision, rather than strength, aiming her blows at vital points, rather than overpowering her foes. She also has a higher-than-normal metabolism, and an athletic repertoire. She moves at 10 meters per second in a dead sprint, and can cover 40 feet with ease in a six second span. Her overland movement in favorable conditions is 4 miles per hour without fatigue, though a forced march still has repercussions. Along with Speed of Thought she can generally outmaneuver a single person in close-quarters combat, allowing her a minor benefit to evasion as well. Anyone with combat experience will only find this character's speed to be a bit of a nuisance, while those who have very little or none will find them passingly difficult to follow.
    • Speed of Thought I – Anna has increased reaction time, allowing her to keep up with the battlefield around herself more readily, though this also has more mundane effects, not least of which is speed reading.
    • Enchantment-Mithril Armor – Anna's breastplate is enchanted to resist voidtaint (a metamorphic disease) and is made of a material lighter than steel, though just as sturdy. In this way, it completely negates the negative interactions it could normally have on her body, becoming a second skin made of sturdier stuff.

    Simple Abilities
    • Tempus Sight I – Anna is able to see whether another person is 'stronger' or 'weaker' than herself OR detect the relative age of an object. She does so by viewing the Tempus (effectively, experience) that has gathered around them. This ability is wildly inaccurate at this stage, lending to a 50%-150%(d100 + 50) estimate as to their age and their 'post count'. This ability requires both concentration, and a small amount of mana to utilize. Anna outwardly appears to focus on a specific person or object, as if studying it, but otherwise does not change in appearance unless someone can detect magic, whereupon her eyes show that magical enhancement.

Due to unreliability, it may land Anna over her head, or make her overestimate a target at this stage.

    • Enhanced Metabolism – Anna's body hastens the effects of toxins and other effects that rely on her metabolism. Anna's metabolism requires that she eat approximately half again the calories of an average human, based on equivalent activity levels. Toxins, and other effects that rely on the subject's metabolism burn through half again as quickly (2/3 duration), as a result. This will generally cause the effects to compound more quickly, but also be dealt with more quickly. I.E. sleeping gas that should knock out a person for an hour will only last forty minutes on Anna. Black Lotus poison, likewise, burns through faster, but also still applies all of its effects. (Onset happens faster to match the new duration of the effect.). Poisons, diseases, chemically induced emotions, even adrenaline highs are sped up.

She is also able to metabolize some things that aren't quite food without adverse effects, usually day old foods or things that would give minor food poisoning. Anna -never- blames the food. This is a very low-powered 'incidental' resistance to toxins and foodborne diseases.

    Name – Byzan
Age – Appears 27, Actually 35 (fancy that!)
    Gender – Female
    Alignment – Chaotic Good
    Social Class – N/A
    Occupation – Familiar
    Race – Fate, Vampire-Snake-Pixie
Weapons – Teeth/Blood Sucking/Tangat/Bastard Sword... that is, nothing that could actually hurt anyone larger than a cat.

Physical Appearance – Byzan stands at approximately six inches tall. She is otherwise a strange amalgamation of creatures.

From a constrictor snake, she has scaly green skin, and a long tail, but no legs. The tail, on its own, is approximately six inches long (making her twelve inches long, in total.).

From a vampire bat, Byzan has wings and fangs(that slightly protrude from her mouth), though the wings are effectively those of a dragon due to the combined appearances.

From her 'pixie' side, she has blonde hair, and glowing blue eyes, a humanoid upper body, and four arms. Her upper body effectively reflects precisely what Anna Chronos's body looks like, save for the skin color.

Byzan wears armor that precisely matches Anna's in looks, aside from slots for her wings. Unlike Anna, she also wears four shackles, the chains do not seem to exist (Anna's contract doesn't exist here, thus the shackles don't actually do anything, aside from look interesting. Anna might, however, in the future, wish to enable them of her own accord.)

She likewise carries weapons identical to Anna's... though at 1/12 the scale, the danger of said weapons is not something to take seriously.

Personality – Byzan is an interesting young lady-pixie-thing. As her and Anna's lives are effectively entwined (If Anna dies, Byzan disappears forever.) Byzan has taken it upon herself to protect her 'big sister'. Aside from this one, major duty, Byzan is mostly carefree.

Byzan is unique in that she uses scent as a form of echolocation, rather than sound. As a result, she tends to give people nicknames based on their 'scent', rather than going by their given name. You can generally barter with her to get her to use your given name rather than your nickname.

Byzan has three levels of attitude: Sated, interested, and hungry. As 'vampiric pixie' implies, she drinks blood. She doesn't need a -lot- and a small amount can generally last a week or weeks, depending on the source and how active she is. When she's hungry, she tends to talk in a lissssp, being unable to force herself to correct for her overbite. When she's sated, she's generally bordering on hibernation. Most of the time, you'll find her somewhere in between, if you're lucky.

History – Byzan and Anna first met when Anna was seventeen. Everyone where Anna is from has a Fate and Byzan is hers. Unlike most people, Anna's fate was willing to violate the inviolable rule of the Fateverse: No one leaves without permission from the God of Fate. While it is true that had it not been for Byzan's actions, Anna would be dead, that does not excuse her from breaking that law. As a result, the God of Fate was going to remove Byzan from existence, which would require the ultimate destruction of Anna.

Fortunately for Anna, the Goddess of Tactics and Wisdom had a use for her, and bartered with the God of Fate: Twenty-three years of service from Anna, as an Avatar of Fate, in exchange for her life. Given Fate's inability to garner much strength in the physical realm, he accepted... and became responsible for Anna; the Goddess of Tactics had placed one of her most important charges in the hands of another god, freeing herself to fill more important roles in the battlefields to come.

Byzan was bound with four shackles, linked together by chains of energy, that did not actually bind, but rather fulfilled a purpose. Each shackle has a rune: Protect, Pain, Exile, and Ward. Each chain signified an effect that was placed upon the two in exchange for accepting their Geasa.

The two have similar personalities, but diverge in some instances. For now, neither can directly influence the other, though that was not the case back home, where they could enforce their wills and bind together in order to strengthen their ability to fight. When Anna crossed the boundary between existences, Byzan was one of the few who could ferret her way through into the other universe, unaided... the magic of Protect-Ward ensuring it.

Byzan now finds herself in a realm without a God of Fate, or rather, without one who yet wears that mantle. As a result, she cannot find her ward, and is forced to look for her 'Cinnamon'.
