Name – Anselma Justine Rossariadhwen, prefers to be called Selma Age – 27 Gender – Female Alignment – Neutral Evil Social Class – Nobility Occupation – Travelling Scholar Race – Animagus [Can shift into a black panther] Weapons – Ythethïl - The decorated saber is her main weapon whenever she's forced to battle someone. It's clear that the sword is her most prized possession. Not only does it have intricate carvings and several embedded gemstones, but it's also a symbolic object to Selma, who stole the sword from her own brother and considers it as a lucky charm. Sillys & Kasha - Two daggers, both short blades decorated with carvings. Sillys has a black panther with eyes made from onyx while Kasha's blade has been illustrated by a dragon with jade gemstone eyes. Sillys and Kasha are more often used by Selma due to their small size and easy handling. The daggers were a birthday gift from a suitor. Quite ironically, that said suitor died by these daggers. Physical Appearance – Selma has a certain touch of nobility in her and it's rather difficult to miss it, even if she's no longer fully embracing her noble lifestyle due to her constant travels. High cheek bones, small delicate lips and almond-shaped eyes give off a strange royalty, which is also apparent in the way she walks, talks and moves her hands during speech. She's by no means a posh, even if she likes to drink with her pinkie held up, as she doesn't need fancy clothes or accessories to please herself. She's a relatively short woman. Standing at 5'5'', Selma has a slim and athletic body with a light latte tan and several freckles staining the bridge of her nose and the apples of her cheeks. A pair of vivid jade green eyes, shadowed by long dark lashes are constantly observing, taking in and registering every detail in her surroundings. Her tanned complexion is framed by shoulder length ebony black hair, cascading down in playful curls that tickle her jawline and the back of her neck. Selma's trademark dimples are revealed whenever a smile happens to cross her lips. Considering herself more as 'runaway nobility', she no longer feels the need to wear fancy clothing. The things she does wear nowadays, however, she wears with pride and elegance. White tunics with puffed sleeves, leather pants, buttoned form-fitting jackets and leather gloves are good examples of what you'll most likely see on Selma. Leather boots and a thick leather belt are also part of her small wardrobe, not to mention a moss green cloak that allows better camouflage. She's not exactly a fan of accessories, but does have five small golden ear hoops: two in her left ear and three in her right. Personality – Selma is a complex and peculiar woman indeed and to describe her in a couple of paragraphs is simply impossible. Behind sharp, contemplating eyes and a slight smile lies a both frightening and interesting personality that has a tendency of puzzling many. Those who have attempted to give a simple and brief description of the half-demon have often struggled with the right choice of words. What do you call a person like Selma? A dissident? A genius? A sociopath? All three are probably more or less correct. A woman who chooses her words carefully but quickly and whose mind moves at the speed of light is rare to come by, yet many realize they just may have found one upon meeting Selma. With an opinion on everything and unique philosophies, lifestyle or heck even beliefs, she's truly an eccentric person. On one hand it is believed that a lot can be learned from her words and on the other hand some of the things she says can be seen as completely insane or absurd. In the end the only person who decides about those is the listener, hence why opinions on Selma are diverse and rather unclear, raising suspicion right from the start in a person who has heard of her. It is not wrong to say that Selma would be a sociopath. In fact, it may not be very far away from the truth. She's outwardly an inviting person and almost constantly holds a small knowing smile on her lips. However, the words that come out of her mouth oftentimes burn and cut deep like a knife soaked in acid. She will say what is on her mind and she will always say it without remorse, regardless of what she needs to say. Empathy is something she cannot feel or at least hasn't learned to feel just yet. If one were to burst in tears in front of her, she would most likely just smile and tilt her head, as if she wouldn't understand the gravity of things. And really, she doesn't. She simply doesn't and it has always been like that, since the very first breath she took when she was born. Of course, just because she doesn't understand human emotions doesn't mean she wouldn't know what they are. Selma is unable to sympathize with other people, but does know in raw theory what 'love' and 'sorrow' mean. Emotions and being able to relate to people have little meaning to her and she's not exactly interested in learning how to do it anyway. Most of the time she considers emotions fascinating in a scientific way and will with great curiosity examine others when they happen to manifest a certain mood in front of her. The inability to sympathize, to regret and to understand if people are hurt by her words or by something else has caused many to think of her as a cold and detached sociopath. And perhaps it is true, as without apprehension nothing can stop her from hurting other mentally and physically for 'research' or for simple entertainment. Opinions and philosophy are very important for her and she's quite unique with her views. She's cynical and believes that there's a narcissist in every creature out there, as everyone does things solely for their own good. To justify this argument, she likes to use the example of love. In the end, lovers will only love each other so that they wouldn't be left alone and would have someone who would show affection to them. That basically means that love exists for selfish reasons, for each creature's own benefit. And why? Because everyone seeks to survive and to have the best possible life. Because in the end the only thing that matters is yourself. Therefore, all creatures are narcissists, who only love themselves with passion – not each other. This means that Selma herself is a narcissist. She brings out the bad things in others and would never step between a sword and someone else, simply because she knows that she herself is everything she has and therefore would never compromise herself. She thinks of herself as the only one who knows the 'truth' about a creature's way of thinking and tends to treat others as if they have been brainwashed and she was talking to a bunch of puppets with no mind of their own. Needless to say, it angers many to hear that her harsh words are ‘just meant to enlighten' others. So, who exactly can tolerate her company? Not many. One has to be strong-willed to be able to withstand her criticism and nearly sadistic personality. The reward might be worth the effort, since it really is possible to learn from her. She has seen many things during her travels and has devoted her life to analyzing her environments and the creatures living around her. The few who have managed to ignore her lack of empathy and cynical straightforwardness have occasionally come to realize positive and useful things through her as well, such as the fact that a creature's mind is constantly under great changes, or that it is virtually impossible to be truly free of all rules and guidelines - but that in the end, we are the ones who make the decisions and affect a greater ensemble that, in turn, affects our lives in a way we cannot predict. Countless moments can be spent having interesting conversations with Selma, who can and in the end will be extremely good company, depending on how far into life and philosophy she can go with whoever she speaks. She often attempts to match the level of the one she's having a discussion with, but will get bored if the other person has nothing to give to her. New opinions and views are not ignored by her, but instead she seeks to find the good – but most of all – the bad sides in them. Sometimes she might even alter her own opinions if someone manages to justify his or her views in a way that satisfies her. Observant. Cold. Calculative. Clever. Curious. Detached. Thoughtful. Yet an excellent conversationalist and quick in debates. Truly, she has captured both the anger and the interest of those she has socialized with. Getting along with very few and earning enemies daily, it's surprising how the lack of love hasn't made her collapse. But why would one need love in the first place? Love is such a selfish thing, after all. So many stress over love in her opinion, while the only thing that matters to her is physical pleasure and attraction. If a man looks good and shows similar interest in her, Selma has absolutely no issues in sleeping with the said person. Of course, no strings attached, since that would just be absurd and she doesn't want to 'compromise herself'. Enjoying the present moments and the happy times is what she believes in, instead of having great future plans or living in the past. Because of this philosophy she cannot marry, cannot settle down or have a serious relationship or a close friendship. There’s also the issue of her getting bored with people quite fast. Time will tell, however, whether things will changes for her and if she will be able to make some true friends in a world where it is necessary to have them. History – While very little is known by for sure by anyone of Anselma Justine Rossariadhwen's past, there are plenty of rumors among the nobility of Eldahar, the city in which she was born and raised. Then again, who wouldn't be the subject of rumors when it comes to nobles? Everyone has their dirty secrets and the Rossariadhwen family has had to work hard in order to cover theirs. Selma was an exceptional child to begin with, showing great intelligence but also a great lack of empathy. Perhaps something had gone wrong during the pregnancy, perhaps it was the will of nature, no one ever knew for sure why the child with sweet curls and sparkling green eyes was so fascinated with things that didn't seem natural for a child. It wasn't bad parenting either, nor the consequence of a traumatic childhood, no. Selma was able to live a very happy life and was very much loved by her parents and her older brother, despite her peculiar personality. As her brother left Eldahar behind to discover the world, she became an only child and was given all the attention in the world. Nothing in her childhood could have possibly contributed to her present ruthlessness. An incident which marked the family's life with a deep scar took place only after she had grown up into a young lady. A suitor came to visit her on her birthday and spent the week with her in order to get to know her better. Selma, however, was not interested. She didn't rebel, nor did she complain about having to keep company to someone who didn't peak her interest. Instead, she just couldn't care. She would ignore him most of the time, until he came to her one day with a birthday present. It was known that Selma enjoyed beautiful carvings on weapons, hence why he had specially bought her two daggers, Sillys and Kasha. He was hoping it would be enough to melt her heart a little. When he opened the wooden box to show her what he had bought her, Selma's face was as blank as ever. She took Kasha in her hands, observed it for a good while before sticking it straight into her suitors neck. It was an enormous shock to her family, who never understood why she had done that. Her mother did everything to cover up the death, her love for Selma overcoming everything else. But it wasn't long before some began to wonder where the man had disappeared all of a sudden. Soon after this incident Selma's father informed her that she needed to leave the house and that she wouldn't be welcome to come back anytime soon. 'I'm sure you understand why.' He told her with a dark tone, before sending her off to her brother. Selma never said anything to this. She packed the few belongings she believed she needed and met up with her brother outside Eldahar. He had become a travelling scholar, having visited many places during his absence. The things he had learned interested Selma, who had always had a thing for books and knowledge. It was her dream to actually see things instead of just reading about them. At first they travelled together in peace, but slowly the subject on her suitor came up and Selma admitted what she had done. Her brother was horrified. He was the only person who ever heard her explanation: 'I just wanted to try it. I wanted to see if there were any emotions in me. There weren't and now he's gone. I don't miss him.' Her brother insisted on returning to Eldahar the next day and said he wouldn't take any 'no's from her. Since that was his decision, Selma left their camp that night after stealing his sword and some of his supplies in order to stay alive. Since that day she has travelled all around Soare, learning, contemplating and experimenting. The only place where she absolutely refuses to go, however, is Eldahar. Not only does she know what awaits her there, but her views and opinions clash too much with those of the Moghul. There are even times when she goes as far as denying her relations to Ashoka.
