SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

She got to her feet, a little clumsily, and crossed the room to him. Didn't have far to walk as it wasn't very big, a few steps, to her own surprise the jangling of nerves. She'd not done this with anyone since her exile, and wasn't really sure what to expect. Still, they'd find out, hopefully, what exactly was wrong with him, and hopefully it'd give them some insight as to getting rid of it. She wondered briefly if it was possible to simply take the curse from him and let it rest on herself instead. Her power though was more restricted to physical wounds rather than diseases, curses or poisons.

Shrista stood in front of him, rolled her shoulders and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. Calm.
"Relax. Just try not to think too much, if that's possible."
She moved the loop that held her sleeves in place from her finger, pushing them back and baring her hands, taking his head in her palms, feeling again that odd sensation crawling across her skin. Magic, and strong stuff. Eldritch stuff.
She began the spell, questing tendrils of thought twining with his and binding them together, the gentle flow of images and random information she pushed aside as she began to search. It was like a second skin, a mass of hundreds of tiny threads all woven together, impossible for even the most skilled of healers to unravel. And it..writhed, almost, like they were alive, pulsating with a force that she found nauseating, tainted.
She returned to the flow of thought, easing through the stream of memory until she found what she'd been searching for, the creature himself, grotesque and macabre, his one burning eye fixing the piercing gaze on what she assumed was Tekun, infecting her with dread that made her blood turn to ice in her veins. She'd dealt with demons and summoned entities before but this..this was something else. Shuddering she released it back into the flow, withdrawing until something else caught her curiosity and she went seeking that instead. A spark, tiny, dormant and hidden, just waiting to be fanned into a flame.
Though her eyes were unseeing, her eyebrows shot up in surprise, and she reached for it with the intention of confirming her belief. As she touched it however there came a sudden pain, like a lance of fire in her forehead, her own memories, feelings, everything she was, being dragged out of her roughly. She tried to resist and for a moment it worked, the energy severing suddenly as a build up of force and tossing her across the room to smack into the opposite wall, dazed.

Her head rung like someone had just clashed a loud bell right over it, ears ringing with a high pitched whine.
    "Shah...what was that..?"

He nodded and complied to her request. Her hands against his head as she held it. It felt odd. Then that feeling, invasiveness he welcomed…it was like leaving the door open for a guest. Though the guest dug through everything searching for something…he didn’t mind.

That memory came up…his blood chilled to but he remained firm…resolute. It haunted him…always haunted him. To distract himself…there was a link? Dare he. He grabbed on to what he could. An image of Andromailous with her. A flirtatious smile. Interesting, but it flashed to another. Her running from the house guards in the forest. Another, combat training with the Drow. Her…apparently hallucinating after some sort of drug use.

Suddenly, she was flung across the room. Tekun immediately rushed to her aid. “Shrista!” He cried. Yes. They were going to attract attention. Maybe he over reacted, but he was legitimately concerned for her well being. He tried to steady her. She asked the obvious question.

“That is what haunts my nightmares…and the root of everything.”

It seemed she was okay after all, but still. Worry was worry.

Rubbing the back of her head she gave a sheepish grin. That one with Andromalius, she had forgotten about. Well, no helping it now, if he asked, he asked. She wasn't going to spread his name about, but it had been the first she'd felt dragged away from her. Something familiar.
    "I'm fine."

Noting his concern about the noise, she laughed gently and got to her feet, crossing the room and settling on the edge of the bed.
"I wasn't expecting quite a reaction. If anyone asks about the noise..." she shrugged, flashing a teasing grin, "we'll just tell them things got a little too rough."

"He was pretty gross huh. I'll be honest with you, I've never seen anything like it. Actually that's a lie, I've seen plenty of demons, undead, you name it I've probably had a run in. But that...it was different. Bigger somehow...no, that's not the right word. Just more, in everything."
She frowned down at her knees, thoughtful, before murmuring, "like a deity. I've felt that kind of fear before. Not just fear, awe."
Looking up again, she smiled her fierce grin, cocking her head to one side.
"Don't look so worried! We'll fix him good. We just need to do a bit of...looking around, first."

He nodded reassuringly and took a seat besides her on the bed and then gave a bit of a laugh…rubbing the back of his head. She began talking about that abomination. It was different, but he himself wasn’t sure. She said a deity, and frowned but then her expression changed, a spark in her eyes. She was determined and this made him quite happy.

“Sounds good…so um…you know Andromailous eh?” Tekun chuckled slightly. “That’s unexpected. I do too…he’s a somewhat prominent figure in the land. Though not for all the right reasons. Sorry if that got intrusive…I panicked and latched on to what I could.” He admitted. “Was there anything at all you wanted to ask about?”

He wondered if she had saw anything of particular note, anything that perhaps he didn’t know about. She was routing through his mind. He had nothing he wanted to particularly ask of either…maybe she felt the same. He shrugged and laid back on the bed. There was a knock on the door.

“Everything okay in there!?” A concerned voice yelled.

“Things just got a bit rough is all!” Tekun yelled back, sticking to the story. There was a pause…an awkward one.

“O…Okay.” It sounded embarrassed, then silence on the other side.

“That worked quite well…glad you thought of it.” He bellowed.

She glanced up at the mention of Andromalius and nodded, remembering those chill eyes, the way the moonlight perfectly highlighted the strong jaw and nose, the shadow that nestled at the corner of his mouth when he smiled like that. She smirked, brushing it aside.

"I met him, though I must admit, he didn't strike me as a bad sort. Charming. But then, my views aren't exactly orthodox." She chuckled, brushing her hair from her eyes, trying to ignore the pressure of the headache pushing behind her skull.
"It happens sometimes, don't worry about it. I've never experienced a reaction quite that strong before, it was quite an experience."

Placing her arms behind her head she flopped back onto the bed, resting against Tekun's knees, but as she opened her mouth to ask, she found herself beginning to chuckle again at the whole awkwardness of the situation. Such things always seemed to embarrass people here so easily, and become a good lever to get out of a proper explanation.

She waited until the sound of footsteps had retreated then turned her face towards the warrior to tell him.
"Actually there was a couple of things. The first being...well, I know what your curse looks like, and I can tell you no ordinary healing will lift it. But you knew that anyway. The second is...related to a theory now I'm thinking about it. It makes more sense but I'm not sure yet. You...do have the aptitude to learn magic."
She scanned his face with a touch of concern, wondering on his thoughts.
"More precisely, sorcery. Eh, more directly...we're more similar than I expected after all. You could, if you wanted to, learn hemomancy."

“He isn’t bad in my book, though I know he tried to off me when we first met. Didn’t recall it. Anyway, that’s water under the bridge.” She rested against his knees, looking up to him after the patron had left. She seemed quite pleased with herself. She wanted to know what the curse looked like. He recalled what he knew.

“Red eyes…insatiable urge to kill…nothing is coherent to me. You’ll know it when you see it. I won’t be me.“ Then that second thing came and it was quite shocking. He could learn magic? More specifically, her kind. He was told…maybe once long ago. He had forgotten perhaps. That he could learn it potentially. It frightened him…to dabble in that. He nodded.

“If I get this curse removed….maybe. But right now that is very risky. Magic has done little and my body is a wreck as it is…I’ll remember your offer and your words though. I’ll keep this in mind.” There was a tinge of fear and concern in his voice. This was clearly a touchy subject, yet he talked about it openly with her. “What are your thoughts though?” He trusted her opinion. She was of the school right? Surely she knew more.

"I'll bear it in mind...and remember the necklace."

He seemed unnerved, perhaps even afraid. Magic was supposed to be a great thing, revered, and feared, she supposed, considering in other lights. Andromalius. He'd used it to conquer half the known world, hadn't he?
She'd seen what Tekun could do without even being in a berserker rage, add magic to that...well, needless to say she wouldn't want to be on the receiving end. It would be...messy. To say the least.

"You don't have to learn if you don't want to. Most magic takes years to master, some people get it quicker than others though."
She removed one hand and pressed the heel of her palm to her forehead, closing her eyes. It hurt to think, but that was all she wanted to do right now.
"Well, my theory is this. Demons as we know are..attracted to carnage, more specifically, chaos. The scale of that in your memory...that may have been a large factor in drawing it there. Why it chose you...I think frankly, that's because of your ability. It's dormant, but it's there. Nothing says you have to wake it up. But you know as much as I do, that type of magic attracts them, and once you do, it'll just cause more trouble until you learn to control it."

Shrista sighed, rolling her head to the side to look at him again and resting her hand on her stomach.
"It's your choice, Tekun. If you want to learn, I'll attempt to teach you. If you don't, then I won't."

That wasn't part of the deal...true she owed him a debt but she didn't have to do that. Yet something had changed a little. A strange little smile graced her lips as the thought came.

    I have a friend.

“It’s a part of me…I’m….curious but terrified….” Tekun thought on it. “And I need to become stronger…magic is strong. This is the only way I’ll ever become strong enough…” He mused outloud. “But it could destroy me…it will destroy me at the moment…if I throw this in with everything else.”

He thought on it a bit more, blood boiled. He didn’t show it, but instead a resolve came over him. Sophia had killed so many of those men and they were in fact a loose end. But even though she stopped a potential disaster. They were still lives. They were still his men.

He looked her in the eye, that smile. He returned it to her. Another he could depend on, there was no doubt in his mind on this. This was no longer about a debt or owing what’s due.

“Thanks Shistra…” It was sincere. “We’ll get me through this…and we’ll get you through whatever comes your way. That I promise.” He reclined back into the bed again. Starring at the ceiling. “Got to plan our next move…where after this little, quiet town.”

He gripped his necklace as he pondered.

Shrista lay for a while in quiet contemplation, letting the gears of her mind turn the problem over.

"We're going to need to do some research."

She had considered the possibility of having to seek out knowledge in this fashion earlier, but not seriously. Finding a library would not be the easiest of things, but it was doable. It was a start. What they really needed were books on summoning, books on the nature and culture of demons, to find what they were looking for. Those sort of things didn't just fall into anyone's lap, who knew what kind of Gate could be opened, what could come through. No, that was...dangerous.

"We may need to find a magister after all," she muttered, chewing her lip.

"Just an idea but I'll throw it at you anyway. We need to find out who he is. Best way we can do that is get information on his kin, see if there's anything that relates to him, or matches up, so we can pin a name to his face. No regular library or collector is going to have that. We might find someone who knows about it though...summoning something that powerful is very dangerous. Not something they'll leave open to public knowledge...sooo..."

She'd only been to a couple of cities in Soto, and wasn't that well learned about Soare itself. Time to ask again.
"We'll need to start by at least finding a library..or someone who collects magical knowledge. Better yet, someone who knows a lot about magic..."
Of course, he snapped back into focus in her mind, and reluctantly she admitted he might know, though these things were touch and go.
    "Maybe..."
His pale face loomed in her mind again, her own visage troubled.

He nodded in agreement with that at least. Problem he primarily had was illiteracy…or the fact he was barely literate still. He knew enough to get by and you would think that for as long as he’s lived he’d find someone to teach him further. Perhaps in time. He turned red at the thought and closed his eyes. A sigh. Reading. Damn it.

“As for a magister. I know a few…I’ll check whose willing to lend a hand. I do have one I can trust and then…well. We both know Andromailous…” He nodded when she mentioned finding out what this thing was. He guess this would require searching dark places…obscure knowledge. He thought maybe travel out far.

“Listen…not much we can do about it right now. What’s going on with our sleeping arrangements? We sharing the bed or am I sleeping on the floor?” He continued looking at the ceiling. He did not want to think about that wretched thing…it only stirred nightmares. Unfortunate dreams. He dreamed happily once and recalled how pleasant it was. But that time had been a few months ago. He missed it dearly.

Investigate Soto…that seemed to be the best idea. But what would that bring. Maybe Sphynx would lend a hand...Andromailous seemed doubtful...but maybe it would stir his interest. What to do?

Curiosity pricked at her as Tekun began to turn red. She wanted to ask, but instead shrugged it off, and pushed herself up off his knees into a sitting position.

"Well if you think you know someone who can help, maybe we should head there first. If you have a better idea in the meantime...well, don't hesitate to say so."

Standing up now she stretched, feeling the muscles in her back pop. She'd lain in that position too long now, and was feeling chilly besides. Unbuckling her boots she kicked them off into the corner in an untidy sprawl and padded across to the little hearth, taking a cut log from the small pile beside the even flat stones that lined it, and tossing it noisily into the grate.

"We can share, if you want. Looks like there's only one blanket anyhow...and don't be silly. If anyone should sleep in the bed it'd be you."

She leaned over the hearth, balancing herself with one hand from her crouch, and coaxed a small white flame from her hand to the wood, encouraging it to catch. Some tinder would have been better, now she thought on it, but it was a bit late now. The flame took suddenly with a loud snap and began chewing hungrily at the wood, reminding her only too clearly of the mishap back in the woods.

I'll remember to put this one out this time.

As heat began to bloom over her limbs she sat back on her heels, swiveling to look at Tekun. He looked...tired. She knew from the delving that he didn't sleep well, if at all most nights. Yes, better he try and she would sit, and think. Perhaps even try to fall into Reverie. The trance that was half as effective again as sleep for resting, that the elven folk could slip into. Not that she'd been able to for months, finding that inner peace had become more and more elusive.

He nodded at that suggestion, start with his compatriot Scarlet. He felt her leave his knees and stand up. Uncaringly kicking them off and then starting up a fire. One blanket, one bed. And he was not going to make her sleep on the floor. Tekun was uncomfortable in civilization. She insisted on him having it. Regardless of having culture, human or not. He wasn’t about to make her sleep on the floor.

“Let’s remember to put this one out…I heard death by fire is most unpleasant.” He joked. “But…this one shouldn’t be too bad. It’s secured by the grate.”

He picked himself up to look at her. Despite looking tired, Tekun had an unusual amount of energy. The man fought his entire life and never for an instance stopped fighting.

“I’m not about to let you sleep on that floor. Either we share or I rough it like I always do.” It sounded nonnegotiable. It seemed the two were going to be stubborn about this matter. Ironic, you’d think both wanted the floor but neither particularly didn’t. In both minds. It was like the bed was a punishment. His eyes drifted to the flickering flames. Things felt okay right now, secured. It hadn’t been like this for a while. Last time it had he had a spell, an enchantment protecting him even though he was in no real harm.

“We’ll look for a friend of mine in the morning. She’s a witch of sorts. We split way a while ago. Sure she’s around somewhere…”

    "Read my mind."

She grabbed the poker, prodding the log further back into the alcove as the fire began to turn its regular orange self, and replaced it again in the rack. Her stomach growled.

Always seem to be trying to keep you full...I swear when I have better control of myself I'll find a way to not have to bloody do it.

It was almost as if they were deliberately avoiding the subject of sleeping. Dancing around it but neither really willing to broach the subject of when. Ans she wasn't about to make it any easier on them. At least not yet.
Sighing the woman got to her feet, and made for the door, but stopped as she did so.

"At this rate, we'll both be kipping on the floor. I'm going to ask if they've got any supper left...don't know about you but I'm bloody hungry."
She pulled the door open, and closed it quietly behind her, padding down the hall and the stairs, creaking with each step. She could still smell the aroma of roasted beef and something else, so they couldn't have served that long ago. Honestly it was surprising no one had come up to find out if they would be taking supper, but then, maybe they had, and had been warned off by the..awkwardness of the situation.

She had to keep herself from chuckling as she stepped into the main room occupying the ground floor, several customers were in, nursing their drinks as she approached the innkeeper, scrubbing a cloth over the bar, dismissing the looks she got. Both curiosity, lecherous and in some parts, hateful.
"Do you have any food left from the supper rounds?"
"Ah..um..yes mistress, just give me a moment."
She narrowed her eyes, trying to make contact with the innkeeper who was doing his best not avoid just that, scuttling off to the kitchens where she saw a young maid peer around the corner, and on flashing her a fiendish grin, the girl squeaked and retreated quickly.

    How foolish.

By the looks she was still getting, and the hesitant shuffling manner of the innkeeper, they probably thought she was a whore. Her lip curled in disgust and she snatched up the tray of food, carefully balancing the mugs on it.
    "Thank you."
Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea. People talk too much, and now she was going to get an awful reputation to boot. Then again, who cared? It wasn't like she would ever have to come back here again anyway. Let them think on that, it was probably more exciting for them to dream about the battle-scarred mercenary and his exotic dark skinned whore than thinking about potatoes and when to plant next seasons crop.

Stalking back up the stairs she knocked lightly then nudged the door open with her hip, setting the tray of meat, butter and bread on the little table, nearly spilling the two mugs brimming with cider, the pitcher rattling, and kicking the chair out of the way in the process.
    "Food. Come and eat."
Her tone was hard, icy, and commanding, before she caught herself and her face softened, lowering her head a little in shame.

    Bollocks. I'm doing it again.

"Sorry. I meant, I bought some food, if you're hungry. If not, more for me."

Tekun broke into a fit of laughter once more. Quite a bit of that had been done today, normal socialization or as normal as it could get in this type of scenario. Her voice was oh so commanding. And then lost that edge. He was not offended by it and saw that at the very least Shrista was trying not to be a commanding. More surprising to him, she went out dressed like that. He cared little for talk and if her care of modesty didn’t show now…well it would never.

“Food sounds worthwhile right about now.” Tekun admitted, he didn’t feel hungry but knew he had to eat. And hell, the food smelled good. Probably better than what he would usually eat. Tekun stood up, made his way over to the door. By now he had removed his boots and shirt. Sticking to his pants. A nice warm room with food. The thought sounded like heaven. He closed it and then locked the door. That audible CLICK was music to his ear. It was a defense against any undesirables.

“I can only imagine the looks you got.” He chuckled again and pulled a chair up. Cider, beef, butter and bread. “One second…” He moved to his cloak and dug, pulling out a slightly better looking flask. It was different from the other. “I’ve been saving this one for a special occasion.” Truth be told, that occasion was a grim one. He figured if he was conscience and dying, he’d want his last drink to be among the finest hard liquors in all the land. But dying was such a morbid thing and neither of them were going to be doing that. He dug for cups…two of them. He produced them.

He plopped down on the ground and set the food. Leaning against the bed. Tekun may have looked tired, but he looked quite comfortable. He unscrewed the lid of the flask and poured himself a glass of this liquor. It smelled like a very fine spiced rum. Sweet with that familiar smell of alcohol. But this one had been specially treated and made painstakingly. Tekun had held on to this for sometime.

“Now’s a good a time to drink this than any. Come. Take a seat.” His tone wasn’t so much as commanding as it was inviting.

He didn't seem to mind her momentary slip-up into her old routine. That was good, because she expected that it wouldn't be the first time she'd take on that commanding stance, only, he seemed to find it vastly amusing. She frowned a little, snatching up one of the mugs of cider and taking a long draught, cold enough that it burnt on the way down and made her teeth chatter, though it was pleasing, her eyes following him as he moved to lock the door. Not that she believed it would keep out something if it really wanted to get in.

Replacing the mug on the table, she retrieved the bottle of tequila from her cloak and began unfastening her gloves, tossing them down on top of the boots she'd left behind, quickly followed by her pauldrons, then plonked down opposite after a quick check that the fire was still good, and not needing more fuel.
A warmth was spreading through her now from the cider, and she loosed a contented sigh, grabbing a hunk of bread and tearing off a piece, setting the bottle down with that musical clink that she loved so much.

"Not as good as your stew I think...but it's good."

She popped the piece of bread into her mouth, chewing slowly, thoughtfully.
"You would not believe," she began to laugh, "the looks. Like they've never seen a pair of tits before, or an arse."
She lifted the bottle and uncorked it, but didn't trust herself to drink for fear of it going down the wrong way, still chuckling. It seemed ridiculous now to be annoyed about it, but why should she? It wasn't the first town she'd been to that didn't see travelers regularly. Shrista wondered if they stared at everyone who came through like that, guarded expressions and wary movements. They seemed enthusiastic enough about the peddler.

"So. What've you got?" she motioned to the flask in his hand, then raised the bottle to her lips and took a swallow of the dark liquid.

He bit into the meat as well, savory but she was right. The stew tasted better…maybe he could cook with this. He made a mental note to buy supplies before they left. They had enough coin. She ate and then began to laugh. He worried about her choking again but noticed how she ate. That worry subsided.

    He smirked at the comment.

“It’s taboo really. Just makes people uneasy because it’s not the norm. I remember once after battle I had to trudge through a town with nothing but a cloak in the middle of winter…buy a new set of clothes. More like demand them. They complied at least. But they didn’t fit.” He laughed. “I -almost- got arrested for indecency.”

Tekun too raised his glass and drank from the cup. It burned on the way down but tasted sweet enough. She would know it was a rum…a damn good one at that.

“This is my favorite…old Morrim Rum. Always been fond of it. It’s the type of thing I don’t drink often otherwise it loses its touch. I carry that flask just incase I think I’m about to bite it.” He stated and drank again. “But it’s good for company…quite good. I forgot how good.”

"Arrested for..indecency? Are you serious? They'd actually lock you up for that!"
She laughed until her stomach ached, and once she finally stopped, a glance at Tekun's face started her off again.
"Oh light...I've never heard anything so absurd."

She shook her head, still chuckling at the thought of being thrown behind bars for walking about in the nude, while it wasn't the norm back home, it wasn't going to get you thrown in a cell for the night.

"This is tequila...well, they call it dark-elven tequila, and it's pretty good, but it certainly didn't come from home. Now, I'll tell you there's one to watch out for, it's Scurrd. Doesn't crop up often but if anyone offers you that, don't drink it."
She tapped her fingers on the side of the bottle creating a light 'plink plink' rythm. She'd been stupid enough to take a Shadar-Kai up on that before and had woken up two days later with no memory after that point.
"Unless you like being flattened by your spirits of course...no one likes to talk about what's in it, let alone know. The meanest, foulest, black bile on the earth. I used to have a bottle...lost it over dice though. My rolls are terrible."
Shrista sighed, lamenting the loss a little. It was enough to make an orc pass out after a single bottle, and would have been good for a laugh.

“Eh. Laws vary but I’m not sure to think of it as absurd or not.” He laughed. “Maybe a bit excessive though. I agree. I don’t give thought on the subject.”

"Scurd eh? Well…I’ve noticed I’ve gotten this alcohol tolerance built up…it’s inhuman. So…it’s hard to actually get intoxicated any more. I may have to find it.” He rolled his eyes at the thought, drinking something that foul for a buzz. No thanks…”Pity about losing it but it was probably for the best.”

He drank and finished off his cup and began eating his roll. Buttering it first and then hastily devoured it as if he hadn’t eaten in weeks. Om. Nom.

“I used to drink to forget…I got over it after a while. But it was never thing. Come to think of it…it was stupid. Caused more harm than good.” He sighed and drank directly from his flask. He had about finished off his portion. Filled and happy, he smiled.

"Drink in moderation or you'll regret it later. Though occassionally. It just felt good to really not give a rat's ass about it. Warmth on the inside. Happy, or at least a false sense of it."

Shrista continued eating as Tekun talked, quieting the monster that was in her stomach. Yes, it was probably for the best she'd lost the Scurrd, finishing her tequila while that was still on her person, she might've resorted to drinking it and light knows what would have happened after that. Really she'd just been keeping it out of sentimentality, that and the fact if someone crossed her sideways she could probably use it somehow as a punishment. Ah well.

"Oh don't worry, I've been piss drunk before but not in a long time. Or, well, not that drunk. I'm careful enough to know if the place isn't right."

She tilted the bottle back, drinking a large measure then slouched, wiping her mouth on the back of her hand.
"So how much does it take before you even start feeling tipsy? Hah, I bet you'd win any drinking contest, even with Scurrd in the mix! Ooh, ohh let's play a game! ..only I don't know many up here."
She thought for a moment, pursing her lips.
"Oh, hows about...I saw someone doing this last week, in Madrid. Take a coin and..flip it into the glass. If you get it in, I have to drink. if you don't, then you have to drink. And we take turns."

She clapped, rubbing her hands together.
"We're going to need more drinks."

“Done! I’m up for so-” The screen faded and the scene opened. Tekun, The Immortal Soldier regained his consciousness on top of the drow. A collar around his neck and stick on cat ears on his head. The table in the corner of the room had been lit on fire, possibly fairy fire as it was green. It produced no smoke. The room was disheveled. For some reason there was a goat in the corner. Baaing. Chained poorly to a table. Additionally the remains of what would assume was a chandelier and a lawn ornatement were smashed in the middle of the room. The blanket barely covered them. The goat made its way over and started pulling on the sheet.

“Mine…” Tekun pulled as he yawned drunkenly. “BAAAA!” The goat retorted and dragged the sheet off of the two before moving back into its corner, eating it. Tekun stirred with one eye. Somehow his pendent was still on, and all his clothing was missing. He smelled nice though, like…perfume? What?! He looked to Shrista who was beneath him. When was the last time this had happened? Tekun didn’t even realize he had the ears on…or that his face had some painted on whiskers. He hadn’t even noticed the collar yet.

“…Um…” He couldn’t even bring himself to ask…what had happened. He closed his eyes for a moment, his ear twitched. “Oi…”

    (Lol xD)

Consciousness was slow to come, and there was something lying on her. Not overly heavy, a comfortable weight, and something else soft at her back. She felt warm, fuzzy, floating on the tide of what she figured would soon turn into a hangover. It hurt to think too much, and groggily she rolled her head to one side. Her legs felt cold, prickling with gooseflesh, and there was that annoying bleating.

I didn't fall asleep in a cowshed, last thing was...

She opened her eyes reluctantly, the light causing them to instantly start tearing up. From her angle she could see the food tray kicked against the wall, a broken glass and several items of clothing, all covered in animal tracks. The fire had gone out and the poker was lying bent into a weird shape on the hearth. There was a handprint in some sort of white paint on the wall.

    "Oi..."

The comfortable weight turned out to be Tekun, looking as groggy as she felt, and wearing what appeared to be cat ears. And a collar. With more of the white paint on his face. Shrista groaned, shutting her eyes again, running her tongue around her mouth to try to find some moisture.
    "Ugh..?"

What the shit happened? Is that a goat?

She covered her face with one hand, which happened to be smeared with a light layer of paint. Like the cosmetic she often wore on her lips.
"F'sarn aluin ulu yaith whol nindol gajak..."

"..." The sound of awkward silence. Tekun let his head slump down. His head really hurt. "Do I want to know what happened?" He asked groggily. Shrista was warm...despite the lack of fire or blanket. He didn`t want to get up. It didn`t help his head hurt and he overall felt gorggy. His eyes scanned the room as the goat Baaaaed again. Tekun sighed. "Am I wearing a colar....and paint...." The answer to that question was a simple yes. he grumbled...not realizing he also had those cute fuzzy ears on his face. (sorry on my phone:p)

The silence stretched on and the drow finally removed her hand from her face, using it instead to shield her eyes from the glare of the newly risen sun streaming in through the window.

    "Nice ears."

Little flickers of memory, fragments from the previous night she assumed, were leaking back in, and only made her groan. Just snippets here and there, and when she rolled her head to the side again the goat stared back with its baleful gaze.

    "Oh piss off."
    "Me-eh-eh-eheh."

Her head felt about to explode, tight and pressurized, like squeezing an inflated bladder. The table appeared to be on fire as well, now her vision was clearing, though still bright and blurred, unfocused around the edges. The goat was eating the bedsheets. She made an awkward lunge, swinging her other hand out and catching it with her fingertips before noticing the cuff on her wrist, chained to Tekun's collar, her eyebrows raising near to her hairline as tug of war with the goat ensued.

"I don't even want to know. Not yet."

Could use a drink...or maybe not. Some willow bark tea would better.

Yanking the sheet back from the animal, which then trotted over to the bed and started trying to eat her hair, she thrust it at Tekun, then began trying to push the goat away.

"Piss off. How did that even get in here?"

She blocked the sun from her face. “Ears?” He felt the top of his head, slowly. He tried to remove them but they were….fasted tightly. He may need to cut his hair to get it out. He sighed and thought to get rid of it…later. Tekun too looked at the goat who was glaring. It had a mind of its own it seems.

She swiped at the goat and Tekun felt his head jerked forward. Moving with her. He looked at her and then the collar. Good god….this was embarrassing. Didn’t drow do this type of stuff. More importantly, who suggested it and why did he comply to this? Oh right…the alcohol.

Tekun smacked the goat away when it was finally thrusted at him. He hit it hard enough that it toppled over unconscious. Or at the very least stunned. Tekun sighed heavily and then looked out the window. “The…hell…” He closed his eyes and then looked to the goat on the floor. More importantly. Where was his clothing? He didn’t really see what he had brought in. Maybe in one of the other rooms. He double took again, looking at the window.

“There’s a lot of goats outside…” He stood up, moving but found himself bound to her. Like a cat. He held his head and gestured for her to follow. Once at the window. There was a passed out robed figure outside, a wizard from the looks of things. Blue robes, gold trim. And goats…so many goats.

    “I don’t even know….”
