He smirked, she liked it and then her answer. He knew all about drow and she was willing to admit a few things. That in itself was comforting. He made direct eye contact and looked. She warned him fairly. He could risk it and then talk of trouble. “Offer remains on the table. I’m not fimiliar with blood magic and I’ve already gone through about maybe…300 years of strife like this and worse…my life ain’t pretty Shrista. I’ll place my trust in you, but I’ll stay wary. But I’ll give you fair warning. The Immortal Soldier walks the path of war and carnage. Unavoidable. I’ve been compared to drow and then some. Worse even. I’m not like that…but if I ever loose this pendent. I’m going to count on you to keep me sane.” He stated flatly. “You might want to tell me a bit of blood magic and I’ll tell you of my own condition. I tend to stay away from the arts considering things, but if you’re with me I may as well know right?” It was a sound thing. Tekun feared no danger, mostly himself causing havoc. His gaze was leveled as well, equally serious. “We’re both a danger to each other it would seem. I can handle it if you can.” |

"What part of me says I'm not attracted to the crazy and the dangerous?" She spread her arms with a low throaty chuckle and shook her head. "Whatever you want to know, the few things I can control right now...I can take the wound from someone else unto myself. I can inflict those wounds to another body, or draw it's life force. I..can torture. That I've been doing a long time. I built most of my career on the pain of others." She wetted her lips, considering her next words. "My abilities aren't all restricted to blood magic. I can detect living entities for a distance, it makes it hard to catch me off guard...I'm still not sure how you slipped in." Shrista grinned sheepishly. "I have a little air magic, and I can delve people. That is, I can find out exactly what's wrong with someone, be it poison, disease...or something else. Honestly it's been a long time since I used a blade properly but I can stick someone in a fight as well as the next man. I'm better with my whip." She trailed off, thinking about Tekun's curse and what he'd said, likely to snap at any moment. Well if that wasn't living on the edge after seeing what he could do... "How exactly do you expect me to keep you sane if you wig out? I know I'm not without my charm, but I couldn't see that stopping you from, how do you say, separating my spine from my pelvis." Grinning, she drained the rest of the bowl and set it beside her, danging her hands over her knees. The sun was up now, and the sky had changed to a clear blue, the shadows around the camp lifting to lighter shades and revealing them both more clearly. Three hundred...and yet you look so young. |

He gave a laugh at the first part and then immediately listened. It sounded more like the use of actual life force than anything else. She was hesitant on the torture aspect of it. A conscience and regret perhaps? He pondered it briefly and then moved away from the horrid topic, at least it was horrid in her eyes he supposed. She talked of detecting life and spoke of how he was elusive. He knew full well how…it could have been anyone. She slipped up in her sleep. But it was interesting to let her think he was special in that regard. “Heh…a whip too? I’d like to see that…you were decent with that blade.” ‘Though a whip may be just a tad too…heh…’ He mused the thought. She had more then a bit of a mean streak. “As for keeping me sane…see this pendent. Make sure it doesn’t come off. It prevents emotional extremes. I can’t get ecstatically happy, but I also won’t enter a blood fuel nigh unstoppable range that would put me at the top of your reasons I can’t sleep at night list.” He made a somewhat lighthearted joke. But then that serious look entered his eyes. “I have some control. But I -need- this crutch right now. It comes off. Get it back on. I’ll try not to hurt you…but know I won’t think twice about it. Especially if you look especially worth killing. Besides…I don’t want to remove your spine from your pelvis. I like it right where it is.” He laughed again and looked to the sun rise. “So…food and bath…one of us should stay on watch. I don’t particularly like surprises. Nor do I particularly smelling like…rancid meat and doubt you do either.” |

Inflicting pain on others had been her best skill back then. She'd thought nothing of it at the time, delighting in both causing it, and receiving to an extent. She still did, but something had changed since coming topside in the last few years. She felt more reluctant to speak of it, perhaps simply because it was in the past, and for her, what was in the past should stay there. It was a new life, a fresh start, a chance to do something different. If it meant utilizing that skill somewhere along the lines to get people to talk, well, it wouldn't be the first time, and she doubted it'd be the last. She would do it too, as much for the pleasure it caused her as for the necessity. Pain was an art. "A tad too..?" Shrista raised her eyebrow again, smirking. She tried to wipe that smirk off her face but it wouldn't leave, and noted the uncertainty, perhaps embarrassment there? "I'll do what I can to try to prevent your losing it. If it does happen though, what then? Is there no way to stop the rage?" At the mention of a bath, she nodded, quickly picking up the bowl and returning it to the fireside. She couldn't sense anything close now except a rabbit scurrying back into the undergrowth, but she didn't want to take the chance now either. Having something dead sneak up on you while you were sleeping was one thing, at least you had a weapon to hand then. Bathing...well where would you keep it? "Honestly if I bathed any more than usual I'd turn into a mermaid. I hate feeling filthy. So, want me to stand watch first? Promise I won't peek." |

“Oh….nothing.” He retorted with a coy smile on his face and proceeded with addressing the rest. “You fail. You run…stop for nothing. It‘ll end once I stop finding things to kill or come to my senses.” A whip, a sharp tongue. Torturing. All too…odd to him. Exotic perhaps. Then she offered to stand watch first. Tekun shrugged. “Peak if you want, I don’t give a damn.” He was rather blunt about it. “Just make sure there are no surprises Shrista. I’ll keep an eye on you but I trust the lady wants her privacy.” He sounded professional about it at least. He looked about yet. “First off. I think we need to find a river or something….cold bath…” Tekun looked about again, trying to find his baring. “I thought I saw one before I got here….a bit south maybe? I’m not sure though.” He removed his flask drank deep from it and then poured himself more stew. There was plenty of it. |

"I'm not that bad a watch that I'll get too distracted." Run and hope to god he doesn't catch you then, or you'll be in pieces. I doubt pulling puppy-dog eyes would work in that sort of situation. Shrista snorted at the thought of privacy. People swaddled themselves like newborns that could catch cold, turning the color of strawberries if so much as an ankle was revealed. She thoroughly enjoyed prowling about with near enough scandalous clothing. By their standards anyway. It was amusing to watch them gawp and change color so quickly. Not that she had no modesty, she simply didn't give a damn. Where she was from, everyone bathed together, even slaves, and there was small chance you'd ever be alone in those circumstances when most societies were comprised of two parts slaves and one part drow. "You think I care about..privacy? Strange ideas you people have. The falls are nearby, that way." She stuck a thumb over her shoulder, towards where the rushing sound of falling water came from. "You better not take too long or I'll jump in with you." She offered a sly grin, then spun on her heel and started in the direction she'd motioned. "I'll go find out how far they are from here. Back in a moment." |

“Distracted eh? And yeah…general assumption is people want privacy. But I’ll remember to be intrusive. You told me off earlier when I asked so I figured keep it in mind.” She was an odd sort, but the way she dressed. He figured he should have known better. He looked to where she pointed…the sound of rushing water. He hadn’t noticed before, her hearing must have been better. He took a seat and watched as she moved, that last comment he smirked just as slyly. “Do what you want Shrista. Probably the safer idea anyway.” It was sound and when it came to it…Tekun didn’t care much for that type of deal, even if she did have a bit of a body to her. He watched as she moved to leave. “Wind to your back Shrista. Be careful.” He knew it was just a simple scouting job, but still. One could never be too careful with these sorts of things. All you had to do was let your guard down for maybe a minute for something horrible to happen. She seemed keen but overconfidence was many a person's undoing. Edited by Tekun, Nov 11 2011, 03:28 PM.

Branches attempted to slap at her face but she pushed them away, twigs and leaves crackling underfoot. Her ears pricked, and she stopped, listening. Birdsong, a single trilling chatter through the trees. Stop, repeat. It was quiet, but not so much that the birds had all silenced or taken off. Simply peaceful then. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy the company, though she herself could be moody enough. Having a hangover didn't help that any of course but, what could you do about it? If she didn't drink so much, it might not happen, but then, where was the fun with that? The roar of the falls grew as she sauntered through the trees, making no attempts to be quiet or hide herself. Most of her kind were good at that sort of thing anyway, but she figured, if something was out there waiting, it'd know she was coming by now anyway, and trying to be quiet would only make it more curious. It was near deafening when she finally reached it, an enormous torrent of water cascading down to the rock below, at where she stood peering up at it. Serene, she supposed, if you could shut out the roar inside your head. The water at the pool at the bottom was clear enough, a few stray leaves whirling on the surface, before they were stolen away by the current. She thought she noticed the silver flash of a fish out there too, though it was fairly deep even here on the bank, and caused an uneasiness as she hunkered down, peering in. Not being able to swim she found the water unnerving, and wouldn't be the first time she'd recalled nightmares as a child of the water closing over her head, swallowing her whole. Perhaps if her father had not bodily thrown her into the underground river, she wouldn't have been so put off. With a sigh she straightened and began to head back. Nothing had leapt out as overly abnormal, or tried to tear her to little bits, so it was probably fine. Stepping back into camp and letting her arms hang loosely at her sides, she stretched, glancing towards Tekun, eating his stew. Maybe she should grab another bowl too. "Water is that way, leads right to the falls. I didn't realize how close I was to them. It's a bit deep but the bank is alright, it's shallower there." |

“Staying in the shallow then…” He stood up and made his way over to it. “Can’t float, it’s problematic and embarrassing. Think it has to do with the curse. Sink like a rock.” He rolled his eyes and grumbled. He couldn’t maneuver in water well. He stood up and brought his weapon and equipment with him. It was a stone’s throw away. He was a bit on edge, nothing was wrong…it had him a little paranoid. But he reminded himself he had an ally nearby. He could actually trust her. That helped take the edge off. “You coming? Or…hmmm…if you want bring the stew with you.” he laughed. The stew was that important. Once at the bank of the river, whether she followed him or not he removed his armor. The set. A relief off his shoulders. He lazily threw it to the side as he did with his weapons, though his weapons were treated with far more care than that wretched suit of armor. He took a deep breath and removed his cloak and shirt. His torso looked like a cutting board. Scars riddled his body. “Oi…Bit chilly.” He muttered to himself as he removed his bandana. He would look behind him to see if Shrista had even bothered to follow. An odd sort, she was hard to read. |

After a moments pause to grab the stew and bowls she padded along behind, trying not to drool at the smell. Light that's good stuff. I'll have to learn to do this. All those years with slaves it never occurred to me to learn, maybe then I won't be so bloody hungry all the time. "Can't swim eh? ...Neither can I." She rubbed the back of her neck, then plonked down on the bank while Tekun unrobed, pouring some of the stew and tucking in, and after a thought, pulled out the bottle from her cloak too. "I'm sure the water's just perfect." She knew full bloody well how cold it would be, and raised the bowl to her lips, delighting in the flavor, her eyes straying to the warrior mid swallow. Naturally a brief moment of choking followed as the stew went down the wrong hole. Note to self, do not try to breath and swallow at the same time. Coughing and slapping herself on the chest, she managed to take several clear breaths, shuddering as she realized she'd manage to slop stew over most of her leg. "What a waste." A little disappointed she gazed up at Tekun, and tilted her head to one side. "So, what's the story, how'd you get so many?" |

“Interesting…” He commented on it. Neither could. He made a mental note to stay the hell away from water. He threw the remainder of his clothes to the side and then made himself bare, submerging into the water with a quick plunge. The water immediately turned a grimy color that began drifting away. He stood to his feet, the water up to his waist. He shivered and shook his head. Cold. “Yeah…perfect right?” He dunked his head beneath the calm surface and rinsed out his hair. Shaking his head as he did so. “All my scars come from mercenary work. War. It’s all I’ve ever done or known. How I lived my life as long as I can remember.” She watched as she about half choked and then caught herself. But sadly she spilt what was left of it. It happens he supposed. “Every scar tells a story. Plenty of tales to tell on this body. Some proud…others I rather not speak of. I probably should take better care of myself.” The way he fought was above reckless but it was what he knew. He wouldn’t change it because it worked. He continued to scrub the grime out with little shame. |

"Yes...you really should take more care of yourself, you look like a patchwork quilt." She smiled to show the harmlessness of her comment, only meant in jest, and stooped to the water's edge, rinsing the bowl. Suddenly her whole being seemed to take on a sly cast, like a cat about to pounce, and scooping water into the she flung it at Tekun. "Here, I'll help you wash!" The woman laughed, flinging a torrent of water at him again and again until her arms tired, and she sat back on her haunches, grinning madly. "Clean enough yet? Because there's plenty of water and I can start over." Just then she wobbled, a little off balance and dropped the bowl into the pool, where it bobbed for a moment then sank to the bottom at the edge of the bank. "Oh...well. Maybe not quite as effective now." Falling back onto her backside she began tugging her boots off and placed them neatly beside her, dangling her dark legs with their sinuous golden tattoos into the water, wriggling her toes and gasping at the temperature, then looking across at the soaking mercenary. He should be turning blue by now. It's bloody freezing. |

“HEY!” He exclaimed and shivered. “Oi! Tryin’ to drown me eh!” He laughed and wiped his face. “And cold isn’t it. I ‘oughta pull you in.” He rolled his eyes and proceeded to climb out, digging through his supply bag he removed a towel and began to dry himself. He had a common change of clothes. But the current set would need washing. That much was assured. Tekun did turn somewhat blue. But…he seemed largely unaffected. He had dealt with the cold before. This wasn’t new. “Your turn right? My turn to keep watch.” He wiped his face with the cloth, his body shook somewhat due to the cold air. “Something about Autumn. Change. Major change but it’s always alright in the end. Something optimistic to think about right?” He mused alloud to her. He took a seat on the ground and grabbed his Damacus blade and then tenderly began cleaning it. He cared for it like one would a child. Determined to get all the blood and undesirables off the blade. “What are those tattoos on your legs?” |

Shrista was surprised when he didn't take up on what he'd said by pulling her in, and shrugged to herself, only a little disappointed. Her feet were beginning to ache, and she pulled them out again, shuddering as the chill air raised gooseflesh. Autumn, when the world began to go to sleep for the long winter. Trees shedding their color and standing naked against the sky like frail old people, reaching up beseechingly to their gods to release them from torment. "Aye. My turn." Standing as he climbed out, she cast him a sparing, wondering glance, then began unclothing herself, not particularly anticipating the cold water after dipping her toes. "You know, there aren't any seasons really, below ground. Maybe a change in temperature, if you're close enough to the surface, but up here, it's all so colorful. And strange. Rain, winds, sunshine..." She dropped her clothes on top of her boots and stood on the bank, staring at the water with reluctance and desire in equal parts, not even looking up at the question. Her tattoos...stretching all the way from ankle to thigh, curling over hips and up her sides, then along the shoulders to the wrists, as well as her back and neck. Even her palms and soles. She stepped off the bank, gasping as she submerged herself, and instantly began shivering. "Sweet mother!" Her teeth chattered loudly until she clenched her jaw trying to bring the shivering under control. It didn't work so well. "The t-tattoos mark my House, my story, if you l-like. My nobility, my c-c-combat t-training, my initiation into the priesth-hood." She lifted her chin, running a finger down the scar on her throat. "That one was initiation. M-my palms, for a woman who is g-gifted at loosening tongues. My soles...I'm not sure I should tell you that." She laughed, ducking under keeping her hands on the back, and resurfacing with her short hair plastered to her head, pale eyes wide. "F-f-f-fuck. So cold!" |

Tekun could only laugh when her teeth chattered but felt some pity. How could she ever survive the winter. He did pay mind, so tattoos were symbolic, almost like his scars. “Oi…hurry up then. Don’t want you getting all hypothermic.” He continued washing his blade. “Also that’s why I didn’t pull you in. Fucking cold ain’t it? Come now. I’m not that mean. But you can tell me what the ones on your feet are if you really want to.” He finished cleaning off the blade and proceeded to try to maintain the slab of iron he had. Wiping it down. Not so much polishing it or cleaning it. It was more of a tool than anything else. “Also please tell me you have a change of clothes or at least a cloak. Otherwise this could be a pain in the ass.” He prayed she did. If not…wait…he just remembered. The smell of smoke. Oh cripes…they left the fire unattended. Tekun’s face paled just a little. “We left the fire go…” Tekun said suddenly. |

"I might tell you w-what they are later." Gripping the bank she hoisted herself out and shook for a second like an animal, grabbing her damp clothes and beginning to pull them on again, hopping on one foot as she tugged on her boots, then stamped her feet to settle them. "No, no spares. Do I look like I have anywhere I could carry them? I can stand a little chafing, I've had worse." She chuckled lightly, wringing the worst out of her cloak and slinging it around her shoulders, picking up the tiny crystal flower pin and using it to hold the cloth in place. Several things scattered around on the ground, none of any real significance but to her, a pouch of coins, half a bottle of tequila, a stone with a hole through it on a leather thong, a small lumpy velvet pouch and what looked like a handful of salt. All of it got stuffed back into the cloak. Her nose twitched just as he was mentioning smoke and she turned, gazing at the faint light flickering through the trees. "Guess we won't be staying there any longer then." |

“I left…all my supplies there.” Tekun began rushing back to the spot…in a hurry. His Damascus blade drawn. The fire was getting pretty bad. But luckily! His bag was there yet! With a heavy swing of the blade he unleashed a wave of force from it. Extinguishing the fire! Or at least some of it. He grabbed his supplies and regrouped without all that much harm…he couldn’t stop all of it. “Yeah….can’t take care of it all….best keep going. Not sure if you have any ideas.” He dug through his supply bag and then changed his clothing. Something similar to what he had been wearing, same style. He proceeded to put his boots on once more. They were still good. He grabbed the pot, filled it with water. Dumped the rest of what was left. Refilled it and rinsed his armor off. After which he began to reequipped it. “No idea. I thought it just be right to ask about it.” He shrugged. “I might have a spare…I don’t want you catching cold.” He looked back at the flickering flames. How it was spreading. He could have at least said he tried. “Well…where to and what to do for the current moment?” He looked about. “I’m about out of ideas….I’d say find the next town. Maybe an inn. I’m sure we’d find something.” |

Shrista dithered, unsure whether she should fling herself after him into the fire. It was spreading rapidly and she could already feel the heat of the flames radiating from here, causing a little steam to rise from her cloak. Concern touched her eyes with her lips tightening in a grim line, but was relieved to see him come dashing back out with his bag in tow. It was best she keep an eye on the fire inching towards them as he changed, so she did just that, watching it eat the trees, orange tongues licking hungrily up the dry and brittle bark. A shame to see so many destroyed now but what could they do, it was too big to simply put out, it would have to run its course. "I don't think I'm going to catch cold when I have a whole forest to keep me warm." She gestured at the crackling flames at her back, lighting her from behind like some kind of crazed demon with that grin fixed to her face. "Well we can't stay here, unless you want to be roasted. Civilization sounds good, then maybe we can try to figure out where we're headed next." |

“Right.” He nodded and proceeded away from it. Heading away from the flames. A town…where was one nearby. He kept pace, the warmth of the fire growing further and colder. Tekun shrugged. Somehow it was a memorizing sight. But the destruction it would cause. He regretted it, it was always like this. Metaphorically speaking. “You know if you set yourself on fire you’d never grow cold.” He joked, took a deep breath and sighed. “Oh my. The mess we’ve made.” He closed his eyes for a moment. “Hopefully the damage is contained but this is still…” He rolled his eyes. “Anything on your mind? Idle conversation is always good.” He smiled and somehow managed to stay cheery despite the inferno and everything else. It was eerie. “Was the stew really that good? I always like criticism on the food, even the smallest flaw can be fixed and make an all together better meal. I recently took it up…I’m getting quite good. At least I would hope I am.” He smiled proudly once again. |

"Nothing to be done about it now. Hopefully it'll rain soon and put it out." She glanced at the clouds massing in the distance, already shuffling their way across the sun and beginning to turn the morning overcast. It would probably begin by afternoon if it decided it was going to pour on them, clouds could move swiftly when they wanted to. Turning her back on the flames she followed Tekun, keeping pace at his side though not really paying much attention to what was going on, once again, daydreaming. His joke pulled her out of it though, and she offered a half-hearted laugh in response. "I offered to do that for someone once, he wasn't impressed." They walked together in silence for a time, while he seemed cheery enough she found herself brooding again. "Not much...just, where do we go from here. You know, I'd say we should find some out-of-the-way place once we've found this town, and you should let me scry you. Maybe we can figure out more about this curse. Otherwise we'll have to find someone else who can." And if we can't find out much more about it then we're likely stuck. Without anything to go on we don't have a choice but to hunt someone down who can help, and the more we bring outsiders into this...Light, what I have gotten myself into this time? "Hm? The stew? It was delicious. I can't cook at all, or at least, I know it's cooked when it starts to turn black and crispy." She grinned. It was completely true, she had no skill whatsoever. If it turned black and crunchy then it was probably done. The stew had been a nice change from the taste of charcoal. |

"I remember it so vividly...how the sanguine fluid left my shattered body. The feeling...how cold and desolate. The taste of blood and dirt in my mouth as I struggled for breath. That red eye...how that bastard gazed..." Tekun began, shuddering briefly as though he caught cold. "Taller then me....armored. The sheer dread...he pulled the blade from me and gasped. No pain. The world grew dark and I went out with a whimper as did my clan. But on that morning...I did not perish. What came into view was...aweful...horrible. That eye that starred back....horrible.And It whispered horrible things....and forced me back as I am now. I cannot say how long it`s been or how much i`ve aged. I stopped counting." He mused the thought briefly his tone lightening up before speaking once again. "Probably more than 300? 500? Could possibly be more then 800. But I think definently more than 500. Strange, a demon that would take him as he died and give him no choice in the matter, and so young too. A fairly powerful one then, to do such a thing. Shrista nodded at his words, trudging alongside, quiet as she sank back into her thoughts, eyes on the gradually nearing town, though not really registering the low building huddling together, or the people shuffling around their daily activities. The town was not a large one, more a village if anything, half the roofs in tile and half in thatch where newer building, still being modified, had been erected around a small green, currently busy with a peddler's wagon as a small crowd hung around it, all clamoring for the man's news. A smile touched the corner of her mouth. She'd seen a couple before, rare things, men or women who went from town to town trading, selling, repairing, always on the move. She'd heard them called Tinker's too, though she'd rather apply that to the colorful folk who traveled in whole bands of wagons. Romani, gypsy, they were also called. Odd names. She picked out the inn, easy to spot as it was larger than the other buildings around it and there was a stable, a portly man outside stood cleaning one of the windows. It looked respectable enough, and she noted, they were drawing eyes as they walked through. They must not see travelers too often. Probably one or two people in the whole village who know anything about magic and then it'll be healing...a village healer, wise in plants, not in sorcery. Then again I suppose we must look a bit of an odd couple... |

The uneasy looks as a cloaked figure and the warrior passed through. This local inn was entered, Tekun approached the front end counter and placed a bag of coins on the counter, removing about a quarter of it. More than enough to pay for the room. Tekun didn’t bother to count it. The owner, a middle aged black haired man looked at him with a great deal of surprise. “Best room you have…please.” Tekun spoke, his voice coming off a bit more gruff. He made himself out to be a body guard for Shrista. Or at least appeared to be. His mannerisms spoke that much. Maybe this woman was of some significance. Who was really to say. “First door of the right…sir.” He handed Tekun the key and went off. Trudging up the stairs, he unlocked the door. Opened it and moved through. Once both were inside. Tekun began removing his burdensome equipment. This time placing it gently on the ground as to avoid damaging the floor. All in all, it was a nice room. Well maintained, by no means musty or bad. But it was plain and overall ordinary. The Immortal Soldier moved to the bed and plopped down upon it, back first and starred at the ceiling. “So you mentioned scrying?” |

Shrista stayed silent as they entered the inn, allowing Tekun to do the talking, and taking in the surroundings with a casual eye. Well maintained and clearly loved, if not the most aesthetically pleasing. Simple, but clean. Good enough for her, the last thing she wanted was a parasite ridden mattress and a room covered in filth. Once they had climbed the stairs and entered the room she unpinned her cloak, hanging it on the end of the bed and seated herself comfortably on the floor with her back against the door, watching Tekun. "Do you want me to? If I do it, I may learn things about you that you don't want me to. And you may learn a lot about me that you won't like." For a moment she ran through a brief mental list of things she might have some hesitation talking about. There weren't many, little things that niggled at her. Her relationship with the priestess Faelune, for one. There wasn't much else, only the emptiness she sought to fill with alcohol and the constant travel. She didn't take partners on a regular basis simply because...well. They weren't worthy of her. As far as she was concerned her race were superior and nothing was going to change that. She stretched her legs out flat in front of her and rested her hands in her lap, tilting her head back against the door and viewed the ceiling through half-lidded eyes. "It's not painful, really. Just intrusive, having someone able to know everything about you, and you, them. Still, most people don't learn anything about the one doing the scrying unless they're particularly strong in the mind, or have some connection to sorcery." |

"Do you want me to? If I do it, I may learn things about you that you don't want me to. And you may learn a lot about me that you won't like." “My mind is yours.” He stated simply and assuredly. What was he embarrassed about, she knew he was a killer, he openly admitted the insanity. And even then many memories were buried beneath memories. He told her flatly he couldn’t swim. That could be used against him. What shame was there, what regrets? There was plenty of it and too much to admit to. He could try but he would never get it off his chest. “Painful or not. I can tolerate it, though I warn you. I am a bit stronger minded than the average person. I may learn something. As for a connection to sorcery. I cannot say. I do not believe I do. I could be wrong. There are some things about myself I don’t even understand. I’ve nothing to hide if you don’t to me. Begin when you want.” He sat up and made eye contact, a nod to affirm he was ready for whatever may come. |
