SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

"So" the dwarf spoke, his voice harsh as a result of too much sea air "This be the place?" he kicked something next to the wheel and the steamer began to crawl to a halt and his partner nodded.

He was with a human man, tall and gaunt with grey hair. Like the first his voice was harsh, he was a man of the sea, although his ship had been lost recently. However, he had both the contacts to sell shark meat at a good price and the knowledge to find a good spot. The dwarf had a working ship and had bought him a drink, so they were partners. Both now knew where they were taking their catch, all they needed to do was get as much as they could.

Of course, good bait was vital. "Did you bring something to bring 'em here?" asked the human, walking over to the edge and looking into the blue depths.

Behind him the dwarf slowly picked up his blunderbuss and took aim. His left hand moved from the cigar in his mouth to support the weapon in preparation for the recoil. "Aye" he responded, dreadlocks moving slightly in the breeze with his clothes, a dark red shirt with only two buttons done up and a pair of dark black trousers with black boots. In addition to his eyepatch he wore several gaudy gold rings and necklaces. "I brought something".

His finger squeezed on the trigger and there was a roar like thunder as the weapon unleashed its payload. The recoil almost moved the dwarf backwards but he held still as the human was thrown overboard, his torso a bloody pulp.

Then he threw his head back and laughed loudly, before throwing the weapon aside and running to the edge to peer over at the struggling, mangled man who thought they had a deal. THAT would certainly bring any sharks right here. Of course, what quite he needed to do when they got here he wasn't sure. Should of asked.

"How do I pull 'em in?" he shouted overboard. The only reply sounded like it might have been an insult if it had been spoken properly. The dwarf merely raised a middle finger in reply and wandered back to the deck, and after a moments thought began pushing a cannon round, aiming it into the water. He followed that up by finding an old harpoon he used when he wanted to board another vessel. It might work. Finally he grabbed his blunderbuss from where he had tossed it aside, and leaned on the edge stuffing it full cutlery and the human's possessions for ammo.

"Sorry Alt" he patted the ship "Just you and ol' Gozrik now". He didn't begrudge someone else being on board, quite the opposite, company was nice. But the man had touched the wheel. And NOBODY did that but Gozrik, the Alteisen was his ship, and she responded to him.

Anyway, he had forgotten to get bait like he was meant to whilst he was buying his (mighty fine) smokes. They were some good ones. He paused reloading to take another drag on his cigar, exhaling heavily. That hit the spot.

Watching the sea dragons dance a courtly waltz across the sandy bed, she had watched them with admiration for their slow and majestic courtship, their bright colors and the way they drifted as the currents tugged at them. The light came down in delicate shafts of glistening blue, deeper than the sky with all of its pure life-giving air. Fascinating. They would dance like this well into the twilight before they coupled and separated, the male bearing the young. Strange. Two tiny dancers dressed for their aquatic festival that only they attend. Sad.
Rolling over in the water, her eyes as dark as droplets of ink, she blinked once, twice at them, hiding low behind the rocks, swaying with the weeds to soundless music, fins rippling and twitching in the water as they were moved by the tides. Sinking lower until her stomach was almost flat she tilted her face upwards as the shadow of something large on the surface glided past, delightful patterns in the wake of it's disturbance. Foamy. Light. Attention on the little creatures lost, Pandora dug her fingers into the seabed, pressing palms down with elbows bent, before launching herself upwards with a push, rapidly followed with a powerful beat of her tail.
What was it? It didn't look like a ship. And she'd seen more than a few..killed more than a few, puncturing their wooden bellies and stealing their soft two-legs children for her own. So what was this? A floating rig, maybe garbage left to float? She followed for a time, slipping in and out of it's shadow, once, reaching out to touch the hull before darting away again, only to be lured back, curiosity winning over all else. Eventually she decided it must be some sort of craft, to be moving so earnestly in one direction with no weaving about or being dragged along by the rip. The fact it stopped only added to her inclination to believe against all the odds, it was a ship. Of a sort.

Voices! Two-legs, so sweet, so fresh? Come down and stay with us, lie on a bed of shells, in an underwater grotto, covet you until your bones turn to sand...

Drawing close until she lingered just below the surface, she watched as a bony human leaned over the side of the craft, apparently searching for something. Lips parted slightly, she inched closer without breaking the barrier of water that separated their worlds, watched as his eyes widened, mouth opened to say something when a terrifying sound, barely muffled this close rent the air, like thunder, if it were being twisted up and poked with sharp things, screaming. Tortured thunder. Clapping her hands over her ears, eyes wide with terror, she almost fled. Almost. Only there was a mist of red and the human jerked, threw himself right off the boat and into her waiting arms.
Blood. Iron-taste. Metallic. Filling her mouth, her lungs, clouding in the water. He struggled and she released him, darting away for a moment, the roar of the blunderbuss still ringing in her ears. If she got close, would it do that again? No ship had ever made a sound like that before. Gills fluttering, she Pandora ran her tongue around the inside of her mouth, trembling with fear and excitement. He was still alive, floundering to keep his head above the waves, the wounds ever-leaking into the water, the scent positively delicious, enticing. Still alive, with pointy shiny things sticking from his flesh. Shiny. Precious. Covet them and steal them away.
But all that blood would draw more than just herself to these waters now. No! She found him first, he should be hers, and hers alone!
Pale arms found the draining human and enfolded him, her head slowly breaking the surface beside the gasping and gurgling man that was fast leaning towards being a corpse. A shame, she much preferred them whole, and not missing half their torso. It had the best squishy-bits inside. Perhaps there were more on board the strange thing, but she didn't want to release her catch. Tied between the decision she clung to the fading man, bobbing shoulders above the water, inky eyes and glistening wet cream skin, dark honey hair, saturated with blood, tongue running over her lips. There was something on board.

It was as he was exhaling, watching the smoke as it gently drifted overboard that he noticed his bait. Or, to be exact he did not notice his bait. The human was still a mess of flesh with cutlery in it with limbs which was exactly what he wanted it to be at the moment, that was perfect. What was less so was the face next to it. An odd, damp looking face. How much had he drank? Not that much, for sure. He blinked and it was still there. He stood up. Still there.

A couple of things clicked and he dropped his half loaded blunderbuss to the floor and ran to the edge with a shout of "Oi!", his face scrunched up in order to keep the cigar in place. He took it in his right hand as he continued to shout "Get your slimy fish hands off my mate!" he shouted as loud as he was able, believing that loudness alone would bring with it obedience "Only thinks I can shoot cannons out can touch my friend" he paused, looked to his left at the cannon he had in place for sharks and turned back to the... Thing. He dropped his cigar into the water and jumped to the side, firing the cannon as quick as he could.

What happened could accurately be described as a whole lot of nothing. There was noise, and smoke and that was about it. Gozrik swore repeatedly. And very loudly before kicking the blasted contraption in anger at its inability to work correctly when he needed. Which caused him to shout and swear more as his foot connected sharply with the cast iron barrel with a resounding thunk which almost caused the dwarf to fall over in pain.

He recovered and walked calmly (limping only a little) back to the side "Lets talk this over" he smiled, his gold tooth gleaming "You don't be wanting him right now, do ya?"

There was a great cacophony as the inhabitant of the boat ran to the side making something of a fuss. Pandora's lips curved into a sly smile which quickly vanished at the sound of the cannon firing, ducking beneath the water and releasing her catch. She surfaced again, eyes narrowed to dark slits in her face, teeth bared and fins raised, hissing to make herself seem bigger and more fearsome.
"How dare you attack me you..you..! ..What are you?"
She could sink this little heap of junk to the bottom of the sea, see its unwieldy shape gurgle as it was swallowed by the waves. Watch as the..whatever he was, floundered like a beached fish. Hissing again she stuck her tongue out at him, then dived, only to come up closer than ever, right below where he was standing.
So he wanted to talk did he? Well it was her catch, and if she didn't know better, he was the one who'd cast it overboard. If she lost her meal to the sharp-tails with many teeth, she might as well just drag him down into the water. He did look rather human, if smaller, stockier. And he was well within her range. Though he did look a bit tough to chew, admittedly.
"Ssome friend, to leave your mate sswimming like a brick, leaking into my ocean. Finderss keepersss...thiss bounty unto the ssea, mine it sshall be!" Pawing at the side of the ship, she wondered if she should simply climb it. There were enough handholds, or there would be after she punched a couple of holes in it. But if she did that she'd surely lose what could be called 'dinner', no doubt the other predators would be moving in now at the scent. Not that she hadn't killed them before, they weren't very smart. But these waters were treacherous and crawling with them, so close to the breeding grounds, they passed this way often. Just one of many places out here that they chose to frequent. Maybe she'd kill and eat the being above, and then kill and eat all the sharp-tails that came for the floating carcass as well. Then sit on the boat and watch the seabirds as they helped pick the corpses clean.
Grinning, Pandora gripped the side of the boat and started feeling out a purchase with her free hand.

Gozrik looked at her as she emerged closer to the ship, and seemed to listen to whatever argument she made. His reply was simple, direct and right to the point. He belched loudly, knowing full well the smell emanating from his maw was hardly a pleasant one. Although somehow he doubted that would be enough.

"I put him" he told the sea creature, his voice louder than it needed to be "So anything that come to get him is mine. And I don't want you, so beoff before I find something else to shoot at you."

She touched his ship. That... That wasn't good. People did not touch his ship if he did not want them to. He reached and grabbed a spare fork from by his foot and threw it at her "Leave her alone!" he growled at her "She doesn't need you slime all over her. She is a pretty and delicate flower with a gentle heart" he placed a hand on his heart as he lied through his teeth. The Alteisen was like a stubborn mule that worked when it wanted to and had a nasty tendency to kick people in the groin with bone shattering force just because it could. Of course, he had mastered her, him and Alti were compardre's, but to someone who wanted to use who wasn't... Well, Gozrik would fire cannonballs at them before they got a chance.

"Anyhow. Touch her. Don't, or you'll end up looking like him and I will have two pieces of sharkbait not one. Understand me... Fish woman" he smiled oddly, his head slightly tilted and in a way that was obviously exaggerated and meant his gold teeth (both of them) were very apparent.

((Lol, my god, I LOVE Gozrik. Especially his gun XD))

So he wants a deal, that will probably leave us a floating wreck in the water anyway. They are coming now, I can smell them.
Recoiling from the stink of his breath, strong like spirits, and hot with tobacco and whatever else he had eaten recently, she released the ship, slipping back down into the dark waters, closing over her head like a cold blanket. Strange creature, dirty, foulsome, stinking up her ocean with its junk-heap of a boat, bringing the hungry predators here. It was likely he was going to shoot at her no matter what she did anyway. They usually did, when they weren't entranced, or shrieking as she dragged them below in a crushing grip that forced the air from their lungs.

Rolling over in the water she swam to the other side of the boat where Pandora sat for a moment considering. She didn't really want to have to beat off curious sharks that after feeding on the corpse wondered if she was palatable as well. It wouldn't be the first time and they had tough skins. And sharp teeth. Lots of them. Decision made, she swam away from the boat and about-turned, rocketing forwards and throwing herself from the water, grabbing at the side with a loud thump and making the vessel shiver, before rapidly pulling herself up and over the side.
Out of the water now the scales fell away in a shivering rain of multi-hued brilliance, scattering and rattling across the deck where she crouched, naked and vulnerable for the moment while she was flattened by the gravitational pull. It was always this way. How could they stand it, being anchored all the time to the earth? Being human like this all the time must be such a burden to them. With difficulty she levered herself up, eyes fixing on the Dwarf.
    "What deal?"

She certainly could move very quickly in the water when she wanted to. Gozrik lagged a little behind her, only turning to face her a second after she had gotten onto deck "You don't hang about much" he commented wryly "Usually people only move that quickly away from me" he added, with a slight hint of grumbling.

He was going to go and talk about a potential deal they could make, but he was distracted by one thing. Well, to be honest it was more than one thing, but they could all be put underneath the heading of 'naked girl', something which was very effective in making him forget quite what it was he was going to say. "Nice tits" he commented "Maybe we could sort out a different deal entirely". He took a step back, mentally, to where he was meant to be "Let me catch a couple of sharks, then you can have me mate and then how about I show that, whilst I am shorter than most I am not proportional, if you get my meaning" he winked and smiled at her in a way which, despite the obvious romance in his words came across as sleazy and lustful.

"So, whadda ya say? We shoot some things, pull them on board, and then you can pull something else" he licked his lips, taking a few steps to her "Sound good to you?"

Well, suffice to say this was not what she had expected. The vantage point was much better up here, and she could see him clearly now, not half a head leaning over the deck and bellowing.
"I have to be fast or I'd be the one luring the sharks."
Pacing unsteadily back and forth to get accustomed to the sensation of having legs for the time being, Pan regarded the dwarf warily, noting his roving eyes, then peering at the blunderbuss with curiosity. It was just a tube, how could it make such a noise, and all the shiny things embedded in the corpse?
Glancing down at herself at his comment, she didn't know quite whether to take it as a compliment. It wasn't that she didn't understand why humans and their like coupled so frequently, but she herself had never engaged in the act and for a moment stood, confused. He wasn't making any sense, as far as she could tell. He looked relatively proportional to...well, himself at least, on the surface. And why was he leering at her like that? Most disconcerting.
    "You catch sharks? Why?"
It wasn't that she hated sharks as such, she just found them to be greedy and vicious when it came to anything that bled in the water. She wouldn't be surprised if there were one or two closing in now.
"I don't know what you mean with all your tugging and- ...oh."
Realization dawning on exactly what he was implying, her cheeks colored, flooding her face crimson. Sometimes, being in this state and it's more cognitive thought could be as much a burden as a blessing, and she found herself wondering as she stared at him with a faintly chagrined expression.
"And here I thought you didn't my my slimy fish hands on anything, let alone your...your...um..."

A wicked grin crossed his face as all her blood seemed to go to her cheeks. It was kind of fitting, in a way, seeing as all his blood had already gone somewhere else. The sharks had, for now, been quite forgotten. He could always come back another time, it wasn't as if there was a pre arranged deal, it was just somewhere you could get a good price. Some things were worth much more. That and he wasn't thinking with his head anymore, and even if by catching a single shark he would have gotten all the booze and the finest of smokes money could buy there would have been a chance he might not have paid too much attention.

"Look" he explained to her "You can either analyse things I said before I knew you looked damn fine or" he raised his one eyebrow "you can lay down and take one red hot serving of Gozrik lovin'" he began walking to her, sliding his left arm from his sleeve as he did so, and then dropped his blunderbuss to the deck with a clang. That thing took a lot of punishment, mostly from Gozrik dropping it because he was drunk, distracted, lustful, or all of the above. Currently he could claim two and a half of three. If he stopped to analyse this he would realise this was a much better place to begin taking his clothes of last time. Nobody here was going to threaten to arrest him for a start, and the chance of his trousers going missing was much, much lower.

"I believe the naval term if 'prepare to be boarded', if that does it for you" he offered as he drew closer to her. The idea that she might not be up for it didn't seem to have crossed his mind. Or if it had he had decided that if she was naked he probably should be too. And was rapidly closing on joining her in that state.

If Pandora hadn't got the gist of his words before, she did now. Face burning she took a step back for every one that he took forward until her back bumped against the rail, and began sidling along it, trying to keep the dwarf at a safe distance. perhaps boarding his ship hadn't been a good idea. It was not as if he were the first to make such an offer, usually it wasn't so much as an offer as a lunge and a short skip down the beach while they gave chase. Not that they ever caught her.
Unsure whether to be flattered by his rather coarse idea of romance, or furious, indignant and repulsed, she continued to sidle away, undecided on a course of action. Running had always served well before, but there wasn't a whole lot of room on board, and she got the impression he wasn't one to run so much as shoot.
    Interesting creature.
He also seemed to be intent on shedding his clothing, which amused her no end. It was warm out, but not so warm that stripping off would be necessary, and she tilted her head on one side, smirking slightly.
"You're wading into deep water, I do hope you can swim."
And with that she laughed, darting sideways, neatly stepping through a coil of rope and out again, bare feet pattering on the deck as she slunk around the wheel, easily putting it between them.
If things turned out badly, well, there was always the water. She could flee there, whether he could swim or not, the sharks wouldn't care. They knew well enough to leave her alone.
Pandora peered between the spokes and grinned, using one finger to gently push the wheel first one way, then the other, liquid eyes dark, unfathomable depths, he face mischievous and even gleeful.

Strange thing. It spins around and around, but does nothing. No purpose? Curious. Like he.

She reached out, gripping the wheel in one hand, nibbling the nails of the other as she considered, rubbing her thumb against the grain of the wood. Then she hauled on the wheel and jumped as the ship moved beneath her feet, a thrill prickling through her, both exhilaration and panic.

It is angry with us! It growls to spin the thing!

Hesitantly she prodded it again, watching it rock from side to side, gaze flickering back to the dwarf.

He had stripped down to the waist by the time he got to chasing after her, leaving just his eyepatch and a gaudy gold necklace on his upper body. She wanted a chase? "You want to play games?"he laughed, chasing after her with playfulness in his eyes. "That just suits me perfectly" a wicked and lustful grin adorned his face as he jumped and ran after her.

"I can swim alright" he laughed when she taunted him "I have certainly sailed a few oceans in my time, if you get my meaning" he seemed to take it as all part of whatever game she was, to his eyes, evidently playing.

Of course, this all changed when she touched the wheel. He stopped in his tracks and pointed directly at the woman "Get. You. Hands. Off. Her" he spluttered, anger distorting his face "She isn't yours to touch! Get away from her, harlot" he gritted his teeth and advanced on the helm where Pandora stood, maintaining his course and footing even when she veered the ship to the side, being used to how his beloved Alteisen moved. This did cause him, however, to dive forwards and place a strong grip on on of the spokes, holding it in place so it couldn't be turned anymore.

"I have shot people for less" he growled. His ship, pawed over by... Anyone else, it didn't matter, Altie was his, and nobody else's. Touching her wheel was akin to rutting with his sister. Maybe, he didn't have one but he guessed. In fact, he was sure it would be worse, because it didn't matter if he knew or not, he did not want anyone else touching his girl.

"So how about you back up and thank whatever it is you worship that I don't have my gun on me right now"

A wide smile had curved over her full lips as the dwarf bounded after her, clearly assuming this was some game, and only deepened at his anger, dimpling her cheeks until she began laughing, delicate and flute-like.

"Such anger. Fine. We'll not touch."

She lifted her bare hands in a mock surrender, waggling her fingers before turning in place and began treading lightly, leaving little wet footprints behind her along the deck.

Why so angry? Just a spinny thing. How possessive.

Back where she had started, she crouched and began picking up the tiny opalescent scales, flicking them off into the water in a bored fashion, then swept the remainder with her bare foot over the edge with a hiss as they hit the surface. Bored now, she wandered to the other side and leaned over, watching the single shark that had arrived tearing at the carcass, her nose wrinkling in distaste.

    What's a harlot?

"We don't worship anything. No point worshipping something that won't acknowledge us. Waste of time."

Like sharks. All they do is eat and breed, eat and breed. Like humans.

As she left Gozrik gently stroked the wheel as if he were comforting it, reminding it that he was there and that it was safe after all. As long as Pandora was over away from it he qas quite happy for her to do whatever whilst he calmed Altie down and made her happy again.

By the time he was done Pandora was looking at the shark, which caused him swiftly to notice it also. Now he was no longer so lustful towards his passenger, he fond himself perfectly willing and able to return to his blunderbuss, finish reloading and take aim.

""Well, we can agree on that at least. Then again, worship don't suit me. All that time on your knees... Sounds more like a womans thing than a man's, if you ask me" he shrugged a little, winked at the woman and pulled the trigger. Once more there was a roar like thunder and he slid slightly backwards with the force of the recoil. Where once there was a shark there was now a bloody mess. And the bait was now barley recognizable as being human, having took a second round, again at close range and again without any measure of defense at all. The tiny bits of metal glimmered in the sunshine and Gozrik let out a hearty laugh, pleased at the shot. "That's how we do it you toothy bastards!" he called out as began to reload once more.

He got about halfway before he lost interest and looked to Pan once more "Want a smoke?" he asked her "As long as you leave Altie alone" he nodded his head to wheel. He had been angry but he was quick to forgive. Or more accuratly he was quick to forget. Taking a cigar from a small box discarded by his feet, and a match also (which he tried and failed to light off his stubble before settling for the box) he lit it with a long drag which was followed by a pleasured sigh "They are mighty good smokes"

Pandora didn't really know what he meant by spending a lot of time on her knees but she had seen people praying before, dropping into a kneeling position and turning to the heavens. So she assumed that was what he meant. The males did wear those long dresses too that the females liked to wear. Though why they'd want to encumber themselves she couldn't imagine. Perhaps he meant something else though, she got the impression that she was missing something vital.

As he approached the side of the ship with the blunderbuss, she gazed at the long metal pipe with curiosity and a touch of fear, then clapped her hands over her ears as he pulled the trigger. The ringing in her head was easily forgotten though as she rushed to the side, watching the blood blossom in the water with amazement.
He'd killed the shark. Just like that, with his thunder-stick.

"Ahh...is it magic? That was fun! Do it again! Oh, oh there's another, coming this way, see the shadow? Make it burst too!"
Her glee was malicious, and she leaned far over the edge looking for more before the dwarf's words pulled her back, her tongue flicking over her lips at the thought of the blood, so fresh, the colors bleeding into the ocean.
    "A..smoke?"
She watched him draw on the cigar, wrinkling her nose a little at the smell, but undeterred shuffled a little closer.
"We have no interest in your Altie. Just shark killing." She thought for a moment, then grinned. "Toothy-bastard killing. Altie is ship?"

A smile crossed his lips as she seemed fascinated by his mighty weapon. That exact thought caused him to smirk. "It's not magic" he told her as he began to reload, grabbing cutlery from a small bag and stuffing it down the barrel "But genius. I made this cause I am smarter. Same goes for Altie. Alteisen, the ship"

If he was honest he didn't make the ship, he just performed so many modifications on what once was a fairly standard cargo ship that it was no longer recognizable as anything other than itself. Or a heap of junk metal floating for no reason, but a lick of paint would go miles in improving that. And if he decided to redo the riveting whilst sober. They weren't exactly in neat lines... But the forge was all him, and the steam turbine that powered the great waterwheels on either side was all him too. The cannons... Well, he bought them, but again he modified them. Especially the triple barreled bow chasers, which began as three cannons each before he got busy with the welding. Indeed, making this ship had been a mighty effort that was worthy of a montage.

He took another draw on his cigar "Try a puff of this" he offered it to her, seeing as judging from her facial expression it was something alien to her "Usually they are rougher than this, but I have the best. It goes down real smooth" he winked at her with his one eye "After that how about we shoot that toothy git together? I'll be gentle with you, if its your first time handling a weapon like this" he smiled slightly "They don't usually come so big or powerful. Then again, I am an awful lot more awesome than most"

    "You made it?"
The mermaid was impressed. She knew humans could bend and forge metal but not to this extent, it was an off craft but she supposed, it did have a sort of clunky beauty to it. It was fun to watch the waterwheels turn around and around as it moved through the water.
"You must be a very clever..."
She left the sentence hanging, not really knowing what he was, curiosity riddling her face still.

She glanced back to the dark shape under the surface of the water, a gleam entering her eye. It would stay so long as there was blood to lure it, and meat to feast on. Gozrik seemed to be enjoying the 'smoke', and when he offered it, Pan took it carefully, making sure she didn't put the hot end in her mouth. She'd tried to eat coals once, they hadn't tasted very nice and were too hot to chew properly.
Raising the cigar to her lips, she took a small drag, then looked to the dwarf, not really knowing what came next. Her throat felt hot and itchy, and she opened her mouth again, releasing the smoke as she went to take a breath. Her eyes widened in delight at the stream of blue-grey smoke twisting on the air, and she handed it back to him.

    I am a dragon!

"Itchy." She smacked her lips, grinned, then leaned over the rail again. "Two! You shoot, we will pull them in."
She rubbed one wrist, feeling the slightly raised gland there, her eyes following the two sharks as they circled and attacked the carcasses. So unsuspecting.

    So dumb.

She seemed incredibly impressed that he was the creator. Maybe he just didn't seem the type, but he had worked shaping metal and machinery to his will ever since he was but a lad, and he was pretty skilled at it now. The Alteisen itself had been a learning process, it ended up nothing like his plans, but in the process of building it he learnt a lot, or rather he refined his skills an awful lot. "Well, I don't like to boast" he responded with a grin that flashed his teeth. The idea that she didn't know quite what he did not cross his mind. Then again, he would make the odd comment but it never really occurred to him that he wasn't human, he had never met another dwarf, he didn't overly consider himself one, at heart.

He watched with interest as she took a drag of his cigar, and then took it back, taking one himself. He spluttered slightly when all she could say was that it was itchy, but controlled himself before he made any comment about how much these cost and how such mighty fine smokes as these were, frankly, incredible and worthy of a knighthood in all truth. He wanted to say that, but he didn't.

Instead he busied himself with finishing the reload, taking aim and waiting... Waiting until the to sharks were close together. He squeezed the trigger, and again the recoil, the roar of thunder and the fine red mist where flesh once was. "How wassat then?" he called out, his ears ringing a little, and spread his arms to either side, his face collapsing into a smile.

"Go grab them in then, if ya will. And if your interested maybe you might like to give me a hand in making some other stuff blow up" his eye took on a glint "You see, I have always wanted to own a pub..."

"You don't like to boast, but you do it often?"
Her gaze latched onto his shiny tooth like a magpie to a spoon, eyes widening a little until the smile was gone and the enchantment broken. Pandora shook her head, blinking.
"Is the itchy good? We have not had this 'smoke' before. Things do not burn well in the water."

As he cocked aim at the sharks, she bounded to the side again, crouched, a wide grin creeping across her face, barely flinching from the roar this time.
    "Both! Amazing."
She grinned madly, awestruck, and offered a vague nod at the command to bring them in. She enjoyed this game, blow them up, into a bloody mess, and bring more, then blow them up as well!
    Unsuspecting foolish creatures.

Pandora flicked her wrist towards the water and a fine spun web of tough silk whipped out, entangling the corpses as it draped across the surface, sticking to them. She twisted her wrist and gripped the material, gummy against her damp palms and hoisted hard on it, hoping it wouldn't snap, dragging them closer and hauling the first up on board with a strained noise, until it flopped over the edge, a large hole blown out of its side and oozing onto the deck.
She released the thread, letting the odd silken strands peter out then snapped them off, and began disentangling the dead shark from it, tossing it in thick bloodsoaked coils to one side. Might as well hang onto it, the humans bought mermaid silk for a high price, particularly those that liked to make weird liquids from strange things. That, and she could weave it into some clothes if she was going to stay much longer on board, nighttime would bring with it the cold. Pandora disliked the cold.

"A..pub?" She continued to work at drawing the corpse out of her net, her gaze flicking to the dwarf for a moment, then back to her work.
    "Explain."

"Exactly" Gozrik grinned "Thats me being modest. If I was boasting you would be so impressed you would swoon at my feet. As would the whole world. And I can't be having that now can we? Nobody would get anything done, least of all me, surrounded by every woman in the land" he paused "And a small minority of men." he leaned in as if he had a secret to share "I think them ones go for the strong jawline" he pulled away and nodded, his hand dancing around and twirling the cigar a little.

"This is good" he instructed her "It shows your awesome. Only people who are smoke smokes as mighty fine as these". He waited, leaning on the side as the girl dragged the catch in for him, he let her speak a bit more before he took a long, slow drag, breathing out with a sigh of pure ecstasy before making a proposition.

"Tell ya what" he pointed the cigar at her "You stick with me, and I'll take you to shore and use what I get for selling them" he nodded to the sharks "To take you for a night in a pub with booze and smokes and then you'll know. And hey, if you decide that you want to get to grips with the old trouser titan whilst your at it, then I think I can arrange that too." he grinned a devilish grin "After that you will know exactly what I am talking about, and maybe I'll make it explode. I suppose I could throw in some clothes for you as well... Although I am quite enjoying watching you walk about. I suppose if you wore something I might have half a clue what your face looks like though, cause honestly, I have barely looked at it"

He seemed an endless stream of babble, not that she minded. It was quite amusing really, and much better than a dead sailor. They never said much, didn't seem to be capable of breathing underwater. But then, you didn't really tend to want conversation when you were sinking your teeth into his thigh. Or a bicep. Or the throat. Wasn't much meat on that though.

Pandora laughed with delight at his boasting, a little doubtful of the claims but impressed nonetheless. She couldn't find herself wholly believing him but there was much she didn't know or understand about humans and her short experiences usually ended up in a moment of terror surrounded by corpses. She glanced at the dwarf, happily puffing away.
Well. Maybe he could handle himself if it came to that, he did have the big thunder-stick after all.

His comment about her wearing clothes bemused her. She still didn't understand quite the necessity for it on land, people stared and pointed, but if she wasn't cold, there wasn't much point to wrapping herself in them if she was only going to fling herself back into the water anyway. Right?
Plonking down onto the deck, she gathered the long threads that had been used to drag the sharks aboard and began weaving them into something that could be called a shift, adding more silk where it was needed until a gauzy sheath of what appeared to be a complex net had been created, pulling it over her head where it sat on her thighs. You could say it was revealing in all the right places, clinging to her damp skin as she began making another to better it, like a giant spiderweb of many strands making the holes tinier each time, until she pulled that too over her head with come difficulty, her honey colored hair tangling with it.

"Pandora would like this lesson. We are not very good at being human."

In some ways he was disappointed that she listened to him. It was nice having naked girls whose bodies glistened in the sunlight due to the oceans touch about, even if they were freaky fish people. Then again, it wasn't as if Gozrik had standards, and if he did then fish people wasn't something that had much if any influence upon them. Then again, she didn't look half bad in her clothes.

"You sure you don't want me to take you belowdecks and then take you roughly from behind?" he asked her, before holding up his hands "The details are of course negotiable" he smirked and dropped his hands, taking another long drag on his cigar and flicking some ash away. "Its not as if the shore is going anywhere." he stood up and walked to the helm and began to turn the wheel to face the Alt back to land "And we have some time. It won't take long" he suddenly stopped "I don't mean I- It's. Ah, screw it" he grunted "Pretend I didn't say that"

"You just make your clothes, I'll get us to shore. We can sort what I'm or am not giving you then" he walked below decks to get the steam going to power the ship, grumbling slightly.

Pandora was completely confused by the dwarfs burbling stream of words, first suggestive, then dismissive as he paced back and forth, and finally went below decks. She scratched at the back of her neck, gaze flitting back to the wheel.

    Mysterious.

She wasn't about to try touching it again, not after the reaction from both ship and captain. Standing she took a moment to stretch out luxuriously, then began padding around the deck barefoot, examining everything carefully, but not touching, her hands clasped behind her back, hair ornaments tinkling each time she moved.

The thought of him giving her anything filled her with an odd sort of excitement, anticipation. Maybe it would be shiny. Maybe it would be soft and juicy, like a peach. Maybe it was a peach. Although talking about it being rough, maybe it wasn't a peach. And she certainly didn't have a mouth in the back of her head so how was she supposed to eat it from behind?
Shrugging to herself she began to hum an old sea shanty, leaning over to watch the bobbing corpse of the man that had fallen into the sea. She did like the taste of flesh, so fresh and raw. But peaches were better. Maybe they'd get some if they were going ashore. To the humans.
That alone caused her a collision of fear and more excitement. Usually she just ran away from them, they were after all, very strange. But the Gozrik creature had offered to help teach her, with a pub, so it would be alright. She would learn to be more human, eventually.
