SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

Unter friedlichen Umständen fällt der kriegerische Mensch über sich selber her.

For a time, his mind drifted, until he forgot what he was trying to do and instead, he was lost in the sensation of hot water on his skin, the smell of the orange blossoms. No thoughts, no worries about the affairs of the state, just the flood of his senses coming in like the tide.
Her hand on his skin surprised him. His eyes flew open and he drew in breath suddenly, then smiled, slowly righting himself so he stood in the water. They were close- he could hear her breathing better than he could see her. His toes bumped against hers in the water; he laughed a little at this, delicately, quietly, and left his foot there so they touched, slippery in the water. His eyes searched for hers in the dim light, his hand rising from the water, fingers reaching out for her arm-
The bell by the door rang, jarring him out of the moment and stopping his laughter. He looked to the door and stepped away, making his way through the water as he called out with a note of annoyance in his voice, "Yes, come in."
The door opened, light shone through, and a servant bearing a platter came in, silently placed it by the edge of the bath, bowed and left. "Breakfast!" Aniketos said with a smile, looking back at the drow. Nevermind, this at least allowed him to test the water- he smiled at his little pun- and in any case he was hungry.
He went over to see the offering- warm bread topped with poached eggs and, on the side sweet dates, figs and summer berries. "Ah, how I adore my cook," he said, picking up a raspberry and slipping it into his mouth.

Her eyes opened a little at the touch of his toes, sliding on hers. Half lidded, breathing through her mouth she could almost taste the orange blossom, close to overwhelming the fragrance of the water itself, the faint musky scents of both masculine and feminine flesh, and a different heat, exuded by the body, flesh so close to touching. Her eyes shot open as a light merry jingle rang loudly through the dim interior, pulling away from Aniketos and staring about wildly, trying to discern where the sound had come from when he called for the servant to enter with the promised food.
"Indeed," she murmured, running her tongue over her lips, feeling somewhat dry.
She should have thought as much, her senses seemed oddly dulled since this morning, and the growing lethargy that had begun to make her limbs feel like lead disturbed her. She had not shown such weakness before, even when bathing and tiredness combined. Still a worry niggled at the back of her mind, not fully buried, still trying to ring its own subtle bells.
Instead she followed Aniketos to the shallower end of the bath, shivering a little as the cool air hit her exposed skin. Eyeing the food speculatively she plucked a date from the platter and bit into it, nibbling delicately when the slightest movement caught her eye. Dropping the fruit onto the platter she glided towards the man with a husky murmur of "Do not move," her face set with grim determination, pressing against him, one arm reaching around his back and with a deft movement, flicked the little beast into her cupped palm. She shuddered at the feeling of the tiny hairy legs creeping on her skin, and was suddenly vividly aware of how this must look. Scowling she made a hasty retreat, flinging the spider onto the tiles, then lifting the platter and bringing it down none too gently on top of it. Shrista released the edges of the platter, hands shaking slightly as she examined the palm that she had held the creature in for bites, and finding none proceeded to examine her host with a complete lack of subtlety, gently touching and prodding along his shoulder then moving to check behind him, all the while murmuring apologies.
"I am so sorry...it must've been hiding in the folds of my cloak. You don't appear to have been bitten, thankfully. I am sorry...I should have considered..." She felt almost drunk, the room lazily spinning, and whether it was the heat from the skin to skin contact or what she now suspected, her face flushed with color.

I must have been bitten earlier by it. How could I have missed it? Why am I so careless? And it could have bitten a damned noble, and one of the council at that. The humans might be right, my kind are trouble!

    "Fuck."
The expletive rolled off her tongue before she even considered, and mentally caused more of them for her lack of thought. Or was it muzziness? Her hand rubbed at her shoulder as her thoughts careened first this way, then that.
"Sorry. I normally at least have the manners to use curse words less understood."

    And now we've ruined breakfast.

(Minor godmode, hope you don't mind dear. <3)

She came through the water and he watched her advance, coming clearer through the dark. He reached for a fig, ate it, relished in the flavour, when she suddenly pressed against him. Their wet skin slid deliciously, he could feel her hand gripping at his waist. "Oh!" was his surprised reply, and he reached out for her shoulder, but his hand fell on empty air because she was gone just as soon as she'd come.
Confused, he watched her crush something small with the platter- a few fruits rolled off onto the tiles. A spider- she'd saved him, if not from death then at least from a fair bit of suffering.
"Oh...my," he managed to say, though the way in which she searched him for bites was highly distracting, "I don't know how to repay you, Shrista, I- are you alright?" He reached out to steady her, ignoring the expletive. "It's bitten you." It wasn't a question. "Come on now, we can't have you fainting in the bath."
He advanced and scooped her up unceremoniously, lifting her out of the water and ascending the steps out of the pool. He grabbed a towel, narrowly avoiding dropping the drow, and he awkwardly managed to drape it over her body. For such a graceful creature, she certainly was an armful. He held back a sigh- what an inconvenience this was, things had been going so well...

The Drow gasped as she was lifted off her feet, flinging her arms around his shoulders, eyes widening.
"That's not really necess..nec..nesseseess..." She slurred softly. "I'm sure it'll be fiiiiine." She began to laugh as the room spun gently and he draped the towel over her wet skin. Relishing the touch of his wet hands around her back and under her knees, she grinned, waving her feet and flicking water across the tiles.
"We're not finished with breakfassst...where are we going? Won't your servants flee like they have the fire ants in their undergarments?"
A spider that young probably wouldn't kill, but it would leave the victim dizzy, nauseous and intoxicated. She hadn't been sure on its age however and couldn't tell whether it would eventually cause her to lapse into a comatose state where her body would begin shutting down. Probably not. It was rather small after all. And the thought of Aniketos prancing through his house in the nude while his servants fled his presence bought on a bout of laughing, her body quivering as she tried to suppress it. She didn't quite understand how he could walk so calmly across a floor that was heaving and pitching like a stormtossed ship, still spinning lazily.
"Ahh..Aniketttooooossss..." She rolled his name off her tongue, one hand trailing fingers across the back of his neck while the other played with his soaking curls, her glazed eyes drifting searchingly across his face and to the ceiling beyond with curiosity befitting of a child. Everything seemed brighter, more pronounced but fuzzy.

"Yes, of course you'll be fine, I just don't want you trying to drown again," he teased her, nudging the door open with his foot and awkwardly flailing to turn out the light. It took several tries- it was so much easier when he wasn't carrying someone- but the hall fell into darkness again. He grinned as she spoke- this had happened to him before, when he was a teenager. He'd been bitten by a spider and had ridden the effects like a pleasant wave.
He made his way down the hall and, exactly as Shrista had predicted, a servant girl opened a door, looked at him, took a moment to realize what she was seeing, and then fled back into the room. He laughed, throwing his head back and nearly losing his grip on the drow, as her skin was still delightfully slippery. The towel he had used to cover her fell to the ground- oh well, modesty be damned. Another servant peeked out to see what the commotion was about, let out a squeak of embarrassment and was gone. He couldn't see who was who in the dark, but he was sure he'd receive a lot of strange looks for a long time.
Through another door and up the stairs they went. She was quite the distraction in this state- the purr in her voice, the swirlings of her fingers made his skin rise in goosebumps. He found himself laughing again, quite different from all the tinkling little laughs he used in conversation. No, this was lower, rising from his core. He nearly tripped when he looked back into her eyes- "Ah, Shrista! I must focus on walking."
Into another hall, then into his bedroom, which was large and lavishly furnished with red chairs, ebony tables and a bed that was rather like an ocean of pillows and blankets. On this bed, Aniketos laid Shrista, and then busied himself with the task of closing the curtains to block out the light, which took a minute because he had so many windows in this room. He then went to the bedside and crouched down, resting his chin on the blankets and looking Shrista in the face. "Should I call a healer? Or will you be fine?"

The fleeing, squeaking servants only proved to make her chuckle each time she spotted one peeking around a door, a stunned expression on their faces. Waving at them and even winking she laughed as she was carried through the house, past ornately furnished and elaborate rooms, up a flight of stairs and finally though he laid her down gently on the bed and departed to close the curtains, she felt as those she were tumbling through the air, drowning in sunlight and sinking in the soft blankets. For a moment she twitched, flailed and grabbed at the covers as if she might be sucked into the bed, one hand finding a cushion she pulled it to her breast and hugged it, rubbing the material against her cheek. Eyes widening, showing her dilated pupils she gasped with wonderment. "It's soooo soft. No...really...ahhhh...how does it do that?! Is that even..is that possible?! It's amazing!"
Rolling onto her side she shimmied closer to the edge of the bed and ran her hand along the smooth dark wood of the supporting post, marvelling, a wide lazy smile creeping across her face. "So..smooth...ahhhhh....." Removing her palm from the cool wood Shrista flopped backwards, once again feeling as if she were falling into the softness of the bed, watching the canopy overhead and laughing softly in her throat, swimming in euphoria as the poison ran through her blood. So this was why they bought the spiders young. She could see the appeal.
Hearing his voice as if coming through a long tunnel, the Drow turned her head and smiled at Aniketos, catching the sharp scent of raspberry on his breath, and orange blossoms. Drowning in orange blossoms. Was that him, or her? Or both of them? Could she smell the bath through all these walls?
"A healer...? But you are not sick, and I am certainly not...no..no no no. Or are you? Oh you aren't sick are you? I thought I checked you for bites, maybe I imagined it...maybe this is all a dream. Aha! That must be it, a dream! I caught you this time, sssneaking into my sleeping head. Oh yes!" Scrambling upright she swayed as the bed seemed to roll like a jelly and waving one arm fell back into the coverlet, laughing into the soft material and producing a muffled groan as she clutched her aching sides.

Aniketos watched her with a wide smile- she certainly made him appreciate the softness of his blankets. Let her believe it was a dream- he didn't think he could dissuade her from the idea in any case. He climbed onto the bed, trying to feel the cloth the way she did now, and laughed.
She straightened herself and swayed- Aniketos reached out to catch her but missed entirely, overextended and lost his balance, falling clumsily ontop of her, his cheek on her stomach, his arms splayed out. "Oof." The laughter returned, and he propped himself up, chin on fist. He was disoriented in the darkness, did not see quite where he was going, but he found himself lying alongside her body, their only point of contact being the soft press of his knee against her thigh. His face was close to hers, and he paused, struggling with a strange sort of worry. Should he really try to take advantage of her in such a state? It was much like drunkenness, and he hadn't really had qualms about that before, so why now?
Seized by impulse, he bumped his nose against hers, and couldn't suppress a giggle at the absurdity of it, and did it again.

Shrista followed the sinuous designs on her skin with her fingertips, jumping when the humans ear met her stomach, and then bewilderment following when he removed himself and fell beside her again, close enough to be touching, laughing. The euphoria was mixed again with the drowsiness from earlier, enveloping her in a warm fog and muzziness. Dimly she wondered if this would leave a hangover.
Then his face was close enough that she could feel his breath, sweetened from the fruit, touching noses rather clumsily, giggling, then colliding again. Was this some strange game she didn't know of? Her own people didn't show much physical contact in public, to touch one's hand was the equivalent of a kiss in full view, of course with the surfacers so fond of hand-shaking and various touching all the time, though more used to it than originally, it was still faintly embarrassing to her. So what was this nose-touching? Unless...
Eyes squinting and crinkling a little at the corners she laughed throatily, craning her neck she nuzzled back, then tilted her face and nudged his nose aside, brushing soft lips together, running her tongue over his before withdrawing with a satisfied smirk.
"Is that what you wanted man-slave? A little affection?" She patted his cheek gently, chuckling as her eyes wandered him from head toe, lips curving in a delighted smile. "You know, for a noble, you are not as soft as you seem hmmm?" She poked at his bellybutton and made a thoughtful noise, a light husky rumbling in the back of her throat, eyes half lidded, for all the world like a cat regarding a mouse.

Her skin, her lips, felt wonderful, spectacular. It had been a while since he'd gotten any- he was too preoccupied with plans to visit Ashoka, and now she came along and she seemed better than any human, otherworldly. He wasn't sure how much was truth and how much was in his head but right now, who cared really?
He laughed, reaching out a hand to place it on her waist, stroking the still-damp skin there. "You guessed correctly." Why did she call him a slave? He was momentarily confused and then distracted- he ran his hand over her stomach, over her body, drawing in the sensations like heady wine. Intoxicated, he took a moment to understand her joke and then glanced down and laughed. "You'd be surprised my dear." His hand came to her cheek and he kissed her again, tangled his fingers in her hair, brought his body closer until they pressed together deliciously. The smell of orange blossoms wrapped about them like a wreath, the warmth of their bodies guarded against the cool air, and Aniketos felt bright as a star.
