Basic Info Name: Audrey Elizabeth Catarina Winifreid Stone Nickname: Audrey. Don't try to give her a cutesy nickname or she'll gut you. Age: 34 Star-sign: Capricorn - born 1st January Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight Marital Status: Widowed Race: Human, native to the Soto area Alignment: True Neutral - in the sense that she only follows her own heart. She does what suits her motives at the time. Social Class: In between Pauper and Commoner Occupation: She has come to call herself a Witch. Physical Appearance Skin-tone: Audrey has Caucasian skin, but it's rather tanned and freckled. She has always spent a lot of time outdoors, none of it sensibly covered. Hair: Her hair has been salt-and-pepper for quite some time - which is odd, considering her age. She has naturally black hair, streaked fairly evenly with grey and white. It is dead straight and quite thin, and when it is loose it reaches her mid-back. It is almost always tied up in a tight bun. Eyes: Audrey's eyes are a particular shade of hazel - more green than brown, but too brown to be called green. They have flecks of a light green all the way through them. Shape-wise, they are standard - rather rounded, with short lashes and dark circles underneath. They always have a peculiar gleam of... some kind of mischief within them, however... Build: Audrey is a skinny woman. I say 'skinny' and not 'slim', because it is not an attractive feature. She is bony, and her elbows and knees are remarkably knobbly. Notable Features: She has sharp features - a pointed nose, a slightly pointy chin. It gives her a hard appearance at times, other times it gives her a childish, vulnerable look. Her hands are often odd colours - she works with dyes on a regular basis, so they can be green, blue, red or yellow splotches all up her arms. Day to Day stuff Weapons: Audrey would prefer to use her magic to fend off enemies, should the need arise, but if she needs to take to arms, she has a staff topped with a single, curling antelope's antler that she can use in either a spear-like fashion or as a stave. Clothing: She wears a simple brown dress that reaches the ground, with cap sleeves. Over the top is an off-white apron that is stained with god-knows what. Her shoes are simple leather. Magical Abilities: Audrey has a hereditary memory. That is to say, her memories include those of the women in her family that have passed on before her. More details in the abilities section. Personality & Background Three Words to describe the character: Shrewd, cynical, abrupt. Strengths: Audrey has an excellent memory, probably due to her particular magic. She can put something on a shelf in her house and not touch it for several years, and immediately come to it when she requires it again. She is also very perceptive, and is quick to pick up on other people's moods and attitudes. She's a hard worker, she's very well read, can cook with the best of them, and she can be an absolute angel of a hostess when entertaining. Weaknesses: Her abrupt, cynical nature generally leads to losses of friendships, because people can't stand her perpetual pessimism. She is not afraid to speak her mind, which can easily offend. She is also quite physically weak. How does the character see themselves?: She believes in herself. Because of this, she's truly a picture of a strong woman. She has no doubts about her abilities, and she knows she can be incredibly useful to other people. How is she perceived by others?: Because of her solitary nature and occult interests, she's developed a bit of a reputation as a 'witch'. It's not necessarily a good thing, either. But then, no one has showed up at her house with torches and pitchforks, yet... What motivates her?: She is motivated by her own curiosity and passion for learning. She also has a few decade old gripes to follow up on, and they are her motivation... History: When Audrey was a child, she used to complain to her mother about the noise in her head. It was her hereditary memories, the memories of her forebears that would echo within her for the rest of her life. Her childhood was somewhat marred by this, causing her to grow up very quickly. She was a very sombre, solitary child, with a particularly jaded outlook on life from early on. Her father sent her to a community school when she was very young - being of revolutionary thought, her father believed that every young lady should be educated and taught to appreciate the finer things, such as art and culture. In truth, he hoped that teaching her etiquette would help him find a rich husband for her, so that she may have a better life than the common existence the family had always lead. Fortunately, he was successful. Young, fashionably morbid Audrey was married to a rich merchant, who was taken by her lithe form and peculiar brand of hazel eyes. She wasn't taken with him at all, at first - for starters, he was blonde, and a huge man! Six foot tall and half that as wide, but with muscle, not flab. He was not at all her type. She wanted a slim, dark haired, fair skinned young Vampire to sweep her off her feet and turn her into a child of the night. Of course, she was only sixteen, and she grew out of this phase and into a comfortable, almost-lovelike relationship with her new husband. By the time she was twenty-two, and had not conceived for him a child, she began to dabble in alchemy and mysticism, hoping to find some cure for her apparent barrenness. When no cure was found she went to her husband, weeping, and begging he would not resent her. He was bewildered that she would even think such a thing of him, and in that moment, she realised she truly did love this bear of a man. They spent two more impossibly happy years together before he was unfairly taken from her, claimed by a wasting disease that even Audrey's most powerful magics could not cleanse from his body. Overcome by grief and a peculiar sense of loneliness, she became a hermit. Her time in the woods over the past ten years has been a time of self discovery and research. She channelled her grief into productivity, and built herself a smallish cottage in the middle of the Erth'netora Forest, where she has lived, self sufficiently, for quite some time. From time to time she would make voyages to Rurakenara, or to the Temple of Nature near Madrid, to procure ancient lore books and mysterious scrolls of archaic knowledge. She has made her cottage open to travelers, and any who happen upon it are welcome to stop for a meal or to spend the night. In the last year, Audrey has come out of her shell quite a bit. During her period of hermitism, she lost contact with her family, and it appears they moved from Madrid. She is currently looking to re-establish contact with them.
