So. My laptop charger broke today. The little metal part that inserts into the laptop broke off somehow. I can still get it to work (barely) if I stick it back in and carefully hold the charger cord in place so that the pretty blue light goes on, but it's not going to stay in place by itself. The parents won't be home until late tomorrow evening, and even then, we probably won't be able to do anything about it until after the massive people party tomorrow. (Val has 17 people sleeping over at her house, none of whom she knows. She is not pleased.) I think I might end up getting a new laptop in the end, since my battery/fan is kind of fried on this one too. The battery lasts all of twenty minutes, and the computer tends to overheat alarmingly fast. Was gonna buy a portable fan, but at this rate, a new laptop just might be easier. I can still use the desktop, but it's slow and cranky and I hate it. Not to mention it's still partially infested with viruses. So yeah. Not sure when I'm getting replacement charger/battery/laptop, but...it probably won't be for another week, if that. Don't know what my parents' thoughts on this are. We'll see. In the meantime...I'll try and reply on the desktop, but I can't guarantee anything. Sigh. |

XP Pfft macs. You could glue the cord in. One of the teachers at the highschool did that with hers and it worked fine (after the systems class fixed what was wrong with it). |

My dad hates Macs. >> And I could glue the cord in, but it's not so much that it falls out as it is that it needs to be in one specific position, which means I have to twist the cord this way and that until the charging light goes on. |
