SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    Legend:
    Magical Items: Light Blue
    Simple Items: Green
    Cursed Items: Black
    Unique Items: Gold

    Weapons

Veritas: This rather innocent-looking Elven longsword carries with it an ancient power. The steel of this blade was forged during the noon hour on the first day of summer. As the weapon was tempered, magical Residuum was rubbed into the steel, allowing the blade to focus the sun's fiery energy. The final result of this forging process is the blade of Truth. This weapon burns with the sun's vicious flames, immolating those it cuts with radiant fury.

Aequitas: This Elven blade was forged in the same manner in which Veritas was. The only difference being that this weapon was tempered at midnight on the first frigid evening of winter. As the Residuum was added to the steel, it absorbed the moon's freezing energies. The blade of Justice is the complement to Veritas in that it radiates with the most bitter of coldness. Those who are cut by this weapon immediately experience a freezing cold pain on the wound, causing instantaneous frostbite.

Fidelitas: This is a simple Yew bow. It is etched with the word "Loyalty" in golden letters. Darrius was given this bow by his father Aric, in the days when they ventured out into the wilderness on hunts. Fidelitas has had a natural tendency to strike true even during the most adverse odds.

    Armor

Demon-Skin Coat: This coat of black leather armor is made in the elven fashion. The hide of this armor is made from the flesh of an ancient and powerful demon named Asmophet. The Demon-Skin Coat forms around the physique of the wearer, providing a light, comfortable armor that does not compromise mobility. This armor has a few flaws, however. Once donned, it is nigh impossible to get the armor off. It attaches to the flesh of the wearer like a second skin. The armor repairs itself, but at a cost. Whenever exposed to light, the armor absorbs the light, converting it into darkness to repair the damaged portion. This comes at a painful cost to the wearer, as it uses his/her life-force as a catalyst for this regeneration.

The demon, Asmophet has a will of his own. He makes efforts to take the soul of the wearer, forcing his will upon those who would try to stop him. When the demon possesses its wearer, his/her eyes turn black, and they feel as if they have fallen asleep. Usually when returning from this unconsciousness, the wearer finds a swath of brutally butchered bodies in his/her wake. While in this state of unconsciousness, the wearer's life force is slowly drained, making it harder and harder to return from this "Stasis".

Asmophet has very few weeknesses, and one of them Darrius has discovered. The touch of one who loves unconditionally has the power to separate the demonic hide from the flesh of the afflicted. However, this touch causes intense pain, similar to razors running over the flesh. Blood pools in the touched areas, making the armor feel heavier. The only way to remedy this situation is to cut open the affected area and drain the excess blood.

    Other Items

The Gold Dragon: This gold ring bears the head of a gold dragon. Embedded in the sockets of the dragon's eyes are two brilliant rubies. The gem stones emit a faint glow when exposed to sunlight. This ring is the symbol of the ancient kingdom of Sythar, a lost and long-forgotten realm. Gold Dragons are symbols of royalty and are considered kings amongst dragon-folk, making this ring a universal symbol of its wearer's status.

Medicinal Herbs: Darrius has limited knowledge as a healer. His training as a ranger has given him an impressive knowledge of Herb Lore. When traveling in the wild, Darrius usually carries five or six packets of specially mixed medicinal herbs. When steeped in hot water, these herbs become a general cure-all for most common ailments.

Skinning Knife: Darrius carries this knife within a secret compartment on the hilt of Veritas. It is razor sharp, and capable of quickly skinning a dead animal. Darrius has been known to also groom his facial hair with this knife.

Leather Waterskin: Darrius carries this leather waterskin on a thin length of Elven Rope. It carries up to one gallon of water, and is stoppered with a cork.
