SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    Name – Badimo
    Age – Undefined
    Gender – Undefined
    Alignment – Undefined
    Social Class – N/A
    Occupation – N/A
    Race – Undefined
    Weapons – N/A

Physical Appearance – Badimo is a long dark sword made from an otherworldly material which gives off a strange foreboding air that causes slight headaches when approached unattended. The weapon itself does not seem to be made of a metallic substance at all, but instead of some unknown composite that appears a cross between living tissue and some sort of dark reptilian hide. Parts of the hilt and blade flat pulse with the rhythm of a slow heartbeat, while feeling warm and having the texture of moist muscle. Despite this, its functionality as a weapon is unprecedented and it can be used to cut and stab through most anything when swung or thrust hard enough. It has no requirement for repair and has thus far not been shown able to be damaged.

When at rest, not being wielded by its true owner, or when used against a human opponent, the sword is unremarkable; retaining the battle qualities of a normal weapon of its size and build. However, when put to use during any other circumstance the sword comes to its full potential. The physical blade becomes enshrouded by a dark red infernal energy; making it about a foot thicker at the widest span and more like a broadsword.

Personality – Badimo’s personality is hard to detect, let alone describe, being that Badimo is referred to as ‘simply a weapon’. What is detectable is that the sword is sentient, extremely intelligent and very much aware of its surroundings. The sword is probably easiest described as being ‘cold’. There is never any emotion held within the dual voices with which it uses to speak and things like empathy, passion, malice and dislike are seemingly foreign to it. It harbors no true concern or caring towards those who attempt to wield it and will not mourn their loss if they happen to die. Badimo doesn’t appear to fall into any category within the alignment spectrum and all in all comes off just as an animated weapon.

Badimo seems to be able to pick up others wants and desires very quickly and though it appears to want to help others acquire these wants, there’s a distinctly unnerving aura surrounding the way it does so. Badimo gives off an air of mystery in its interactions with others as if it has a hidden agenda that hasn’t been hinted at. It is very curious about the various elements, magics, planes, peoples, and continents that make up the world among other things, though the reason for this curiosity is unknown.

History – Badimo’s history is completely unknown up until this point. It seems to have no knowledge of its origin or anything prior to its sudden, unremarkable appearance on Elenlond.

    First Five Abilities
    • Possession – Badimo has the ability to temporarily possess anyone who grabs its hilt. The possession lasts for only ten seconds, but doesn’t allow the weapon control of the person’s body. What it does allow however, is for the sword to sample, browse and copy all thoughts and knowledge that the person has thought about within the last ten days. During these ten seconds, it will appear as if the victim has blacked out, though they will immediately be able to recover. Depending on the information that Badimo gains from the use of this ability, it will decide whether or not the person in question is worthy of wielding it.

    • Absorption – Badimo possess the ability to absorb both magical essence and emotional energy. This ability has no effect on the source of the magic or emotion; it simply siphons energy from it and stores it within the weapon itself. The reason and use for the energy is currently unknown.

    • Vector Randomization Field – Surrounding Badimo is a small psiconically generated aura which randomly changes the direction of anything caught within it. This ability causes hostile projectiles and weapons, both magical and physical to seemingly deflect off from it or even rebound back to the foe. This ability only affects inorganic materials and can be turned on or off at will.

    • Dreamscape – Badimo has the ability to generate a dreamscape which changes according to the swords will within the minds of others. The dreamscape is extremely realistic, encompassing all of the senses and cannot be freely awoken from. Badimo can project this dreamscape onto anyone within a one mile radius of its current location, though the targets must be asleep to be affected by it. Within the dreamscape, the target is capable of interacting, but has no control over any aspect of the dreamscape itself. Though it is possible to be harmed within the dreamscape, nothing that happens within it transfers back to reality.

    • Astral Projection – Badimo has the ability to project an astral form of any humanoid figure it wills, with which to have limited interaction with the world at large. The astral form cannot physically make contact with any person or object on the material plane with the exception of Badimo itself.
