SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    Name – Aral Magravul
    Age – 115 (Appears around his 20s)
    Gender – Male
    Alignment – Neutral
    Social Class – Commoner
    Occupation – Wanderer
    Race – Half-Elf
Weapons – He has a black and silver halberd. The weapon itself being made of black colored steel, while the hand grip is silver. It's rather long, as halberds tend to be, being at around 6.5 feet in height. The tip of the weapon is the last .75 feet, and the Axe is the .25 feet below that.

Physical Appearance – He has semi-long, red hair bound up in a ponytail. His skin is rather pale in color. His eyes are a dark green, bordering on black in shade. He usually wears a half-mask in the color of dark violet. The mask is also enchanted to stay on until the owner takes it off of their own will, though it serves no purpose but aesthetics. His features are rather feminine, so he can pass as a girl easily, albeit a flat-chested one.

Aral wears a light pair of black robes, which are surprisingly easy to move around in. Underneath, he wears a loose pair of gray leggings, as well as a long-sleeved black shirt. Over the shirt, but beneath the robe is a chain mail vest. Upon the shirt lays a small Crown Imperial flower in dark red thread. Over his robe, he wears a dark purple cloak, usually with the hood pulled down.

His boots are much like Tabi, and are also in the color black. He also wears a belt, though it's used to keep the robe from billowing out and being a hindrance really has no other properties. Oh, and his voice is somewhat feminine in itself, so there's no aid in determining his gender from that regard.

Personality – Aral is a very ambitious person. While his list of desires is few, he does whatever he deems necessary in order to follow through with them, provided such means do not conflict with the rules of his morality mentioned below. This does not, of course, mean he is impulsive. No, he's actually quite calm as well as logical. He's not going to accomplish his goals while being dead, of course.

He can also be rather vengeful. While he has a fairly mild temperament, should you annoy him too much, he will make one of his goals in life to repatriate you with something adequately nasty. Vengeance aside, he's also fairly honorable in how he goes about things. A basic set of rules for him is: 1) No civilian deaths if within reason, 2) No deals with Devils/Genies, and 3) No bringing in family of a foe unless they're non-civilians. He also attempts to be courteous in how he acts, though such courtesy will most likely removed should the one he is interacting with doesn't show a likewise amount.

He also really doesn't mind people mistaking him for female, since he can sometimes use that to his advantage.

History – Aral was born to two archers within a troupe of mercenaries. One of them, his father, being the human. His mother being an elf. Even as a small child, his appearance was rather androgynous, and strangers mistaking him for a girl wasn't exactly uncommon, especially when you take into account his soft spoken speech at the time. While growing up, his mother taught him various things such as arithmetic, as well as spelling and grammar. She also taught him his lightning magic, though as she wasn't a major in the use of magic, he didn't get much of an instruction.

As he grew older, and began to consider what weapon to choose (leaning towards bows, due to his parents), he came upon the company Halberdier/Lancer. He was quite taken with the weapons, and chose to begin practicing those. After his training, though, he chose to stick with the Halberd, as he deemed it more useful. Due to the nature of the company, Aral was able to see many different sights.

It was when the troupe he was a part of was hired in Morrim, that he picked up his 3 basic guidelines, from an old knight who was part of the Lord's castle they were hired to act as a temporary garrison for. His Gravity Magic was picked up after a stint in the City of Oracles, after he observed a Mage trying something there whilst out buying supplies. He also garnered a slight interest in Earth Magic, which has mostly been dabbled in.

Once his father died, around Aral's 50th birthday, he left the troupe to wander. His mother, too, left, but to return to her home town. His vengefulness was inherited from his Mother, who, he heard, had quite the temper when angered as well. Currently, his ambition is to seek out rare artifacts and items, though he's not sure what he'll do with them.

    First Five Abilities
    • Halberd Basics – Aral knows several basic strategies for his halberd. As well as how to wield it without cutting his own limbs off by accident.
    • Gravity Magic 1 – Aral can very slightly alter the gravity of a person for several (2-6 at this point)minutes when he touches them with his hand. The hand he touches them with will usually have a grey-ish aura around it, as that indicates that he has concentrated his gravity magic there. Higher gravity makes them feel heavier, lower gravity makes them feel lighter. Heavier gravity makes a person's attack rate slower, as well as decreasing the height of their jumps, and making flying more of a burden. Lighter gravity is the inverse of that. Not much of an effect of spellcasting.
    • Speed 1 – Aral's rather fast, being able to move 1.5x faster than the norm.
    • Lightning Magic 1 – Aral is able to manipulate lightning, and unleash bolts from his hands. At this stage, all they can do it stun a person for a short amount of time, or break their concentration with little to no harm to their person.
    • Strength 1 – Aral is stronger than he looks, having about 1.25x strength of a grown man
