Name Zarai – Daughter of the Mighty Oaks Age Hundreds of thousands years old Gender Female Alignment Neutral Social Class Nature Spirit Occupation Guardian of the balance Race Wood Nymph Weapons None – Unarmed combat. Physical Appearance Like most wood nymphs her skin has a very slight greenish hue that in some degree of light almost looks like an aura of green energy emanating from herself. Her hair is long and brown, with oak leaves throughout it, depending on the time of year the leaves change colour, in winter they are not there. She is tall and thin, her legs are long and well toned. Her eyes are an enchantingly bright pink, possibly because she may have bound herself to a rose in a past incarnation. Zarai wears the usual attire of wood nymphs, which primarily consists of plant clothing scantily clad over her body. She personally wears an oak leaf skirt that covers from her waist to the middle of her thigh. On her chest is a wreath consisted of large oak leaves. Faint outlines of leaves run along her ankles, and her stomach. Personality She is generally outspoken, willing to speak her mind without thought of causing offence. She is loyal to her sisters as well as her cousins, and lives to protect the balance. Despite living for many eons, she has not done a lot of travelling outside of the forest. She does not have a lot of experience with societies, and will treat a king equally to his subjects not aware that this could be quite insulting. She cares deeply about all nature, as expected of wood nymphs, but also cares for her friends as well. She is fairly serious for a nymph and is a very businesslike person and focuses on the task at hand though it sometimes clouds her judgement. History Zarai was born one spring morning from the trunk of an oak tree. Unlike the rest of her oak sisters she had startling pink eyes, which meant that she had been bonded to a tree with pink leaves of some sort. Many assumed that she had bonded to a cherry tree in her past lie. However this was not the case at all. Zarai was in fact one of the nymphs who removed most of the Lilies of Sanita off the face of Elenlond. Queen Alamina, her previous name, had to do it in order to preserve the Great Balance. Man was growing too strong and too evil, they were burning the forests in search of the flower which was becoming harder and harder to obtain. Alamina, through the wrath of the burning forest, struck out fiercely against all of humans, however in the process her rose bush was burned and she died. Despite her legend-like legacy she preferred to leave the past alone. She trained in various combat styles including unarmed, archery and staff work. Her determination and fighting prowess led to her becoming a great warrior among wood nymphs. Queen Gardenia, guardian of Amanthos Woods, approached Zarai and invited her to her home to become one of her guards. Many unusual rumours surrounded the queen but she decided to obey the queen’s wishes and went to live in the Amanthos Woods. Gardenia lived a very strange lifestyle indeed. She rarely lived in the forest but in fact lived in the nearby castle as Lady Amanthos and had a fairly human daughter. Zarai not accustomed to such lifestyles was intrigued with the Queen and the quickly became close friends. The daughter, Rosalina, was a very curious individual. She enjoyed playing in the forest with the other nymphs and Zarai served as an older sister to the girl, making sure she never got in too much trouble. She became a regular attendant at the court and was the maid of honour at Rosalina’s wedding once the girl had grown up and inherited the castle. Alyssa who was born under the great spellwood tree would signify the point when Gardenia returned to the woods as did all her nymph attendants except for Zarai. Zarai had been declared the guardian of Alyssa. Ever since that fateful day nymphs have withdrawn from the castle and the surrounding lands making almost a myth of themselves. Zarai never really revealed herself to the girl until Alyssa stumbled upon a nymph moonlight dance. It was then that Alyssa became of the nymph world, it was clear that the girl had nymph blood surging through her veins. When she decided to leave the castle instead of getting married off, Zarai followed her as well. It wasn’t until Alyssa met Andromalius was it then that she decided to let the girl know that she had been with her the entire time. That encounter signified the end of Zarai’s duty as guardian. After meeting Andromalius she knew that the Great Balance was in grave danger and the two had to part ways. First Five Abilities
