((Continued from Lack of Will)) Once they reached the city, Coryn stopped, and turned around to look at Satsue, "Well, we're at Zedrin. Is there anything specific you'll need to get before we sail to Ashoka, or are you fine? I have just a couple of things I need to do before I leave." He paused, "Either way, I think you should stay close. This city is NOT a good place, and likely the only reason I don't get attacked is because people are afraid of me." If Satsue didn't have anything else to say, Coryn would simply go do what he needed to, and if she took his advice and stayed close, he'd make sure nothing happened to her.. Specifically, gather some basic supplies for their journey, and get the hole in where he'd put the pendant earlier fixed. |

Hearing her footsteps change from grass to sediment to stone, Satsue was very careful about monitoring her surroundings. They appeared to have reached the city, for she could hear the chattering of people, and the footsteps of many busy citizens. She kept a very, very firm grip on her harp; not oly was it made of gold, but if anyone else plucked it, Satsuyo would instantly take over. Not only that, but they would lose control between transformations. She was also afraid of the slave market, which she could hear from afar; the slave's number, their description and starting price, and then the merchants and rich citizens that were bidding on them. She shuddered at the thought of being one of those slaves, and knew that because of her blindness, she would be an easy capture. Of course, it wasn't as if she was very useful, and probably wouldn't sell for much anyway. Coryn asked her if she needed anything in town, and she said simply, "Um, no, I don't." She was a very low-maitenence person, anyway. Being of small stature, she didn't eat much, and couldn't carry a very large amount of things, thus she didn't really need to buy much. "Please, get what you need to." |

"Alright then." Coryn responded simply, before he walked through the city. He noticed a few people looking at Satsue, possibly wondering just how much her harp could sell for... Or, perhaps, other things... However, they quickly went back to minding their own business when Coryn glared coldly at them. Between his eyes themselves, which were a bit eerie on their own, his reputation as a somewhat skilled fighter, and just that for some reason, he radiated an aura of "Don't try anything," there were no problems. Once Coryn had bought the supplies (mostly just rations) and gotten his clothes fixed, he said to Satsue, "Alright, I think everything's done. Let's head to the docks and-" Suddenly, a man interrupted them. "The docks? Are you leaving Angkar?" Coryn turned around to look at the owner of the voice. It was a young man, most likely in his twenties. "What business is it of yours?" Coryn asked curtly. The young man was obviously somewhat nervous, "I-um... Well, you see... I work at the docks, keeping track of what cargo goes into which ships. You're the Scaled Shadow, right?" Coryn simply responded, "Yes, get on with it." The man stuttered, "Erm... Anyway... There's a ship that's leaving today for Soto, it's docked at the eastern edge of the port. For the past few days, it seems to have been getting more cargo over time, far more than I was told it was originally planned to carry. A few of the crates they took seemed to move on their own..." "And?" Coryn said, as the man trailed off. He looked startled, and then he stuttered out, "U-um, sorry. Anyway, I was wondering if you could try and investigate what they're doing? They also carry passengers as well as cargo... I can pay you! If you're willing to at least try, I'll give you this" He took out a bag that obviously had money in it, more than most citizens of Zedrin saw in their entire lives. Somehow Coryn doubted that someone from one of the wealthy families would work at the docks, and he seriously doubted that the man's salary would allow for it... Something else must be going on. However, Coryn merely grabbed the money, and said, "Deal. I'll look into what they're doing... Assuming that this money is real." The man's eyes widened in what appeared to be panic as Coryn opened the bag, and saw that every single coin in there was golden. Coryn took a few out, and scratched each one slightly. No... There didn't seem to be any other metal underneath. "However, tell me this, why are you willing to pay this much? And how do you even have this much money?" The man panicked, apparently trying to fabricate a satisfactory answer. "Nevermind." Coryn said, "It has no effect on this particular job. We'll see in the future though~" The man's eyes widened, and he ran out the door. Coryn laughed, before turning to Satsue. "Well, I suppose we should be careful, shouldn't we? Let's go." Coryn then walked out without waiting for Satsue to speak, before heading to the docks. It turned out, the ship in question was about to leave as they got there. Coryn paid for both himself and Satsue to get on, and then they left... |

Satsue followed Coryn blindly, keeping right in pace with his footsteps, and being especially careful not to walk right into his back. He really didn't take very long to get his supplies, which was fairly comforting, considering Satsue was very uncomfortable in this city. As they were beginning to head for their destination, a man had come up to them, and began adressing Coryn in a very nervous tone. Satsue deducted it as a man, much younger than Coyrn but older than herself, who was obviously very terrified of something. Saying something about moving crates and extra cargo. Satsue wondered if that would weigh the ship down too much and make it sink; but then again, she'd never been on a ship. She was fairly excited to be taking the trip because of the experience, but with the man's request for investigation she wasn't so sure anymore. The next thing she heard was the very familliar sound of jingling coins. Gold coins. That was definetly gold; there was no sound like it in the world. She had listened to her father do financial business sometimes on days that he was home, and he commonly sorted gold and specifically instructed her to never forget the sound of gold. "It's definetly gold," she muttered, intending to do it over his shoulder, but he towered over her so and it was difficult. She then heard him turn around, and he offered that they should be on their way. "Yes, of course," she replied lightly, andas the lizardman began walking away, she hurried her steps and followed him. |

As soon as the ship left port, Coryn realized that something else was bugging him... What was it... Wait! Why had the man hired him? This was far from a standard job for a mercenary to make. And really, it would have been better to talk to actual authorities... How was he supposed to investigate this? Coryn had taken the job because he'd figured that it wouldn't be a problem to make a detour by traveling through Soto when he was getting this much gold for a job like this, but the more he thought about it, the more he'd realized that something was wrong. That man... He hadn't even bought anything from the store. And he'd come in a bit after Coryn... He'd been set up! Someone wanted something from Coryn, quite possibly his life... Yes... That might explain why the man had paid so much. He'd probably been given the gold for the specific purpose of handing it to Coryn. Since it was probably about a thousand times more money, of course he'd accepted, if he was given the promise that he'd get the gold after it was taken off of Coryn's corpse... But he wouldn't let that happen. Suddenly, a man came up to them, with a slightly malicious grin on his face, "Ah, Coryn, we were expecting you to come." Coryn nearly facepalmed, Yes, warn the one you're planning to kill... However, he restrained himself, and simply replied, "Expecting me huh?" The man laughed, "Yes. All will be explained in due time. I'll take the two of you to your cabin, there's only the one left." No doubt it had been left specifically for Coryn as well. Coryn followed the man to the cabin, which... Looked surprisingly ordinary. He'd almost expected to be taken to the brig. "Now, wait here," said the man, "The captain will be coming to explain things in a bit." He then closed the door once both Satsue and Coryn were in there... And then locked it. Coryn waited a moment and said calmly to Satsue, "So, do you have any ideas on what to do now? This was obviously a trap... And I fell for it, taking you with me. I'm sorry. If the entire crew is against us, we have a problem..." He sighed, "Even if we can take them all out, I don't know how to sail a ship. The only option would be to see about swimming all the way to Zedrin... And the longer we sit here, the less likely that is to be viable." There certainly was a problem here. On the one hand, he did want to find out what was going on, and running away would be quite difficult to do... They'd have to get out on deck, to the edge of the ship, jump off, and then swim back to land. They still weren't that far out, but that would still be difficult. On the other hand, if he had to fight the entire crew, that would be extremely bad, and he wouldn't be able to sail the ship well at all to get it back to land... And by the time the fighting ended, he wasn't certain that Satsue would be able to swim all that way. |

Before following Coryn onto the ship, Satsue hesitated as she got ready for her first step onto a ship, floating on the water. She was slightly excited; amused by simple things such as this. Taking the step onto the boat, she felt a flare of thrill inside of her, where Satsuyo was snering his ass off; a rich girl who'd never been on a boat in her life. Wow. While she was off enjoying her little moment, Coryn was speaking with someone, and Satsue wasn't paying attention. She was shifting her weight from one foot to another, feeling the slight, slight sway underneath her. The feeling of the boat ricking on the waves was apparent to her advanced sense of touch, and she would have squealed in delight like a child had the two grown men not been standing right in front of her. Although, she suddenly heard the two men beginning to pace deeper into the ship, and Satsue was forced to abandon her moment of delight and follow, her sightless eyes burning holes into the wooden deck of the ship. Stepping onto a different flor, Satsue could hear that there was a room right below them, unlike on the main deck, where along the sides of the cabins everything was right against the hull. The door closed behind them, and the door locked. "This was obviously a trap... And I fell for it, taking you with me. I'm sorry," Coryn had said, and Satsue suddenly realized the situation. They were trapped, to be executed, stolen from, you name it. The gold that they had just recieved were to be taken away from them, along with their lives. He asked her if she had any ideas; the crew would probably be coming to eliminate them soon. Let me do it, Satsuyo offered. "What?" Satsue replied, whispering to herself. Let me do it. I'll go rough 'em up a bit. It'll be fun. Come on. I get to kill. There's nothing more fun than that, except maybe manipulation bringing upon mass suicides. That's always a fun time. I can sail a ship, too. Come on~ let me do it~ He was fairly convincing. Uncertain, but willing to ask anyway, Satsue lowered her haid, causing her bangs to shroud her eyes. "Satsuyo... he can do it." |

"Satsuyo?!" Coryn repeated back, startled. "Letting him loose... Would that be a good idea? From what you've told me, and how he acted before, that would be a bad thing..." However, suddenly, he paused, thinking, "Although... Is there a way to suppress him? I remember when I struck the harp earlier, he seemed upset, and then he lost his control..." Before Satsue could answer though, he moved toward the door. "Either way, simply waiting here would be a bad idea. The longer we wait, the further from land we get, and the worse the situation will be. I think that instead of waiting for the captain to come to us, we should go to him!" Coryn slipped a lockpick out of where he kept them, and then inserted it into the door's lock. Before long, a click was heard. "Let's go!" he said to Satsue, opening the door. |

Satsue was already down about the idea, and had expected Coryn's reaction. She actually sort of felt for Satsuyo a bit; he was trapped in there, and he never really got to do anything when he was out. And neither of them could work with a boat, and she was really quite bad at fighting... but it was practically Satsuyo's specialty. Although, Coryn seemed especially against it, until he got an idea. "When the second string from the right on the harp is plucked, the dominance of the body switches. It doesn't matter who plucks it... If you take the harp, you can control the dominance." He then used a lockpick to snap open the door, and Satsue nodded when he urged her to go and get to the capitan first. Although, when she made her way out, her will was suddenly torn through by Satsuyo's, forcing her to pluck the harp. I'm not letting you have all the fun! Satsue slumped to the ground again, the demonic energy taking over her body and morphing it, and quickly on his feet was Satsuyo, feeling like he'd just gotten a brand new body. Fairly excited, really, he followed Coryn without a sound... maybe he hadn't noticed that he'd broken through Satsue. The only thing that would've given him away was his footsteps, which were just a bit heavier than Satsue's due to their height difference. |

That was good to know. If Satsuyo ever was a problem again, at least Coryn would know exactly how to stop him. Coryn quietly stepped out of the room, and looked at both ends up the hall he was in. He didn't see anyone else, so he began heading toward the direction opposite from the deck. Most likely, a large portion of the crew would be up top, which meant that he didn't want to go up there. He might be stealthy, but he certainly wasn't invisible. He WOULD be found. And he didn't want to be found by anyone other than the captain, though it was possible that the captain wasn't alone anyway. The door at the end of the hallway did look a bit different from the others... Coryn quickly got out a lockpick again, as he'd already put away the one he'd used before, and once again effortlessly opened the door. What he found... Was clearly a bad thing. A man that he assumed was the captain was sitting calmly at a desk in the center of the room, not surprised at all about Coryn coming in. And there were a number of others in the room as well. Particularly noticeable was a woman wearing a dress that seemed to be mad entirely of feathers... Of many, many colors. It looked outright absurd... "Hello Coryn," the man said, without blinking an eye, "And Satsue. Or is it Satsuyo?" Coryn was honestly surprised, but he managed to avoid showing it, "So, you were expecting me to come back here then? Funny, since you kept your door locked." The man laughed, "What, the Scaled Shadow being stopped by a lock? Or even two? Hah, I hardly would expect that. After all, they've never stopped you before, have they?" Coryn tensed visibly, getting into a combat stance, "What?!" The man laughed, "Yes Coryn, we know about you. We also know about your friend there... It's amazing what can be found out with competent spies. Or even incompetent ones." He glared at the man that had given Coryn the gold earlier. Clearly more was going on here. The captain started speaking again, "Anyway-" However, he was interrupted by the woman in the ridiculous dress. "So, here's how it's gonna be!" she said in an obnoxiously loud voice as she slammed her fist on the captain's desk. It would appear that she was the one who was really in charge here. "Either you get the artifact using that pendant and give it to us, and you get to keep the gold, or you do anything else, and you get cut apart and fed to the sharks! I think the choice should be obvious." Coryn had no idea just what was going on, or how this had happened, but he responded, "Very well. I'll get the artifact, and give it to you." Of course, it was doubtful if he'd actually carry out the second part of the bargain, and he doubted that there would be as much of a problem with them once he was off of the ship. So it would appear that they perhaps weren't in as bad of a situation as they'd thought... But certainly just as confusing, if not more so. Edited by Coryn Lunais, Nov 3 2009, 08:17 PM.

Following Coryn, Satsuyo was careful to look in all directions as his smooth steps followed the lizard man down the hallways and corridoors of the ship. He got his back when they got to what they had assumed was the capitan's lodging area, where Coryn had quickly and expertly torn apart the lock. He respected the guy for that. As the headed in, Satsuyo had a firm grip on the rim of the harp, ready to string out a song for battle if need be. There were all kinds of rediculous-looking people in the room, including that freaky feather lady. Now, usually Satsuyo would like that sort of thing, but the outfit was just... ... wrong on her. And he wouldn't dare flirt with any woman who hadn't a sense of style. It was practically against the law. The man at the head of the room greeted them--and by name, which was shocking--and a bargain was quickly proposed involving some sort of artifact that could be found because of the pendant--and they wanted it. The woman with the freaky dress had spoken up for most of that, and she had a very loud, obnoxious voice. Get the artifact and shove it thorugh their skulls... that's a great way to give it to them~ he thought to himself, quite amused with the bargain. Even more amused when Coryn accepted it, although it seemed that he had no intention of giving the artifact to them. It's not like they'll be able to know if we get it or not. We could just say that someone killed us on our way there and flee the country. That's always fun. Good times, good times... |

The obnoxious woman in the ridiculous dress stood back, a satisfied smirk on her face, as if it had been by her doing that Coryn had agreed to do what they asked, and she had done some incredible feat worthy of recognition. Clearly she didn't have any lack of arrogance... The captain however, laughed heartily, "Well then Coryn, I guess you're part of the crew then! And since your friend hasn't spoken up, so is she!" Strangely, he seemed nice enough. Actually, it was seeming more like when the other woman was threatening Coryn and Satsue, he hadn't said anything to her because he didn't want a fight... It was obvious who was really in charge here. No doubt she was looking to add a bunch of golden jewelry to go with that tacky feathered outfit. The captain then resumed speaking again, "Well, I suppose some introductions are in order. This is my... Lovely... wife, Ayra," He pointed to the woman in the feathered outfit, who hadn't seemed to notice her husband's difficulty in saying the word "lovely" "And this is my son, Sam." He gestured toward the young man that Coryn had met in the city. "Finally, I'm Victor, but you can just call me Captain if you want." "Well, why don't you both head to the cabin, and you can rest until you reach land?" he finished warmly. Coryn shrugged, and said, "Alright then." As he turned around and walked back to the cabin, he thought about what had happened here. He was actually looking forward to perhaps finding out a bit more about all these people... However, it was already clear to him that his enemy was Ayra. Another interesting note though, was that a good number of the crew members in the room were looking at her with very obvious hate in their eyes when she wasn't looking. Including her own son... It seemed that she was NOT well-liked around here, perhaps not even by her own husband. Coryn would need to find out more about everyone here, especially Ayra. There was clearly more to this situation than met the eye, especially regarding the pendant and this "artifact" it led to. Of course, almost every detail of the situation was a mystery. He'd have to do some asking around... |

"HE!" Satsuyo hissed at the Capitan, calling him a she. Seriously, he really didn't look like Satsue at all, except for the hair and clothes and whatnot. But he was very obviously male, right? He looked manly, right? The demon was beginning to doubt himself. Tall, muscled, long face... with long hair, practically wearing a dress. Suddenly he was having an identity crisis; DID HE REALLY LOOK LIKE A "SHE"?! His sudden panic caused him to pay absolutely no attention to the rest of the conversation, and he seemed like he was about to faint or something. Although, he noticed that they were then to report back to their cabin, and tried to snap back to his "usual" cool-and-calm composure as they walked out. He then sighed, and put his harp behind his head, sighing and glancing up at the sky. "How boring. There was no battle, no blood no violence. What kind of exciteing duel to the death, to be followed by a heavy drinking celebration was that?" He almost considered letting Satsue out... this was too boring. Of course, a marvelous idea popped into his head, that would still allow him his fight-to-the-death, while taking over the ship and its crew... if they could live through it. He didn't bother even thinking of bringing the idea up with Coryn, because he seemed like the justice kind of guy, and would probably stop him or steal the harp or something. "HE!" Wait, what? Satsuyo was out?! Coryn turned toward Satsuyo, ready to intervene if he tried something. However, unlike what Coryn had feared, Satsuyo didn't attack. He heard the captain speak, "Ah, sorry. I wasn't paying attention, and assumed it was your alter ego. I assure you, I'll be more careful in the future." The guy certainly wasn't what Coryn would have expected given the circumstances, and that he guessed this was probably a ship of pirates, due to the fact that they'd threatened his life for an artifact... Or, Ayra had. Then Satsue had followed Coryn outside, into the hallway, and was saying something about it being boring, no blood or violence... Okay, that was it. Coryn didn't bother responding, he merely took his claws and struck at the harp, specifically toward the area with the string that Satsue had said would change who was dominant with a face that somehow managed to seem a bit bored, (how it did so, no one would really be able to say) before continuing walking toward the cabin. |

Suddenly, Coryn spun around, slashing out at Satsuyo, where he seemed to be aiming for the harp. "WOAH!" he snapped, surprised by the sudden lunge. Attempting to lift the harp out of harm's way before it could be attacked, Coryn struck it right down the side, and an awful string of notes raked out, making Satsuyo's ears want to hurt (since they couldn't). But, to his surprise, there was no twang. He hadn't hit the right string! Ha! Not that anyone but himself and Satsue would be able to tell, but he smirked. He'd hit the second string from the left... not the right. Because he'd been holding the harp behind his head a few moments ago, he was holding it upside down, and thus nothing really happened! Success! Satsuyo tried to moan a bit in a womanly tone, so as to make Coryn think that he'd hit the right string. Looking up at the sky on their way back to the cabin, it was barely breaching more than mid-day. He'd have to wait a bit to have some fun, but being a demon who'd lived many centuries before, time was not an issue. He simply smirked darkly and followed his lizardman accomplice into the cabin. Another amazing plan popped into his mind... deception. |

Coryn blinked. Nothing seemed to be happening. He heard Satsuyo let out a moan that was obviously trying hard to be feminine. Coryn rolled his eyes, and simply yanked the harp out of Satsuyo's hands, "Nice try. But you're not staying." He then plucked the second string from the right again... Making sure of it, by doing it on the left too. In the future, he decided to just either grab the harp like he did now, or rake his claws across the entire harp. He then realized that one of the strings didn't make any sound... That was probably the one. "You alright Satsue?" he asked, "It seems that Satsuyo is rather troublesome, isn't he?" He then offered the harp back to her, before heading back to the cabin. He decided that he'd get some rest... Coryn's eyes snapped open. He'd had some sort of nightmare, but he couldn't remember what it was. He sat up, and cradled his head in his hands, "Why do I have a headache all of a sudden?" And why did he have a feeling that things were about to become even weirder than they already had so far...? |

Sniggering to himself over his victory of staying out, Satsuyo was completely oblivious to Coryn stealing the harp right out of his hands. Only after he heard tloud twang did he realize what happened, and as Satsue's form began to take over his, he hissed through clenched teeth at Coryn, "Damn you!" where he slumped over. A minute or so later, Satsue stood up, feeling a bit dizzy. Coryn asked if she was alright, and she simply replied with a yes. He commented that he was troublesome, and she just smiled a very, very sad smile, and replied, "... Yes." she knew exactly what was to happen next. Ah, the sharp, metallic smell of fresh blood. It was like candy to a demon--his only regret was that he didn't get to feel its sticky, wet substance on his fingers. The feeling of killing was perfectly enough--and it was even more glorious in this body. Kneeling down to his victims, Satsuyo painted his fingers in their blood; a demonic expression was crawling upon his face, the more blood he saw. He'd summoned beasts from the underworld to come and devour the victims under his will, where they had now disappeared until summoned again. Standing back up, his form was silhoetted by the bright moon, the blood on his fingers and the golden harp in his hands and its bloodstained figure glistened against the moonlight. "It's good to be alive!" he laughed, though not particularly loudly. Sure, he'd love to be discovered for the fact that he'd get more victims, but too many at once might overwhelm him; it was his first time killing in Satsue's mirror, and his skills hadn't yet developed. He just wanted to bathe in the blood; he hadn't felt like a demon like this in so long! The glorious feeling! Hearing more victims coming from the connecting deck, All Satsuyo could do was smile as he began to play String of Fire, calling upon the flames to surround and devour the poor, defenceless souls that were to face its undying wrath. As the flesh began to burn away, and the blood began to bubble, the demon couldn't help but usher a menacing, evil laugh of victory that only a demon could truly laugh. |

Coryn soon realized something. Satsue wasn't there! And then he heard the screams... "Oh no!" Coryn shot out of the bed and toward the door, then into the hallway. Once in the hallway, he saw... "Is that fire?!" Coryn quickly rushed toward where it was coming from, and what he saw... "Why do you keep coming loose?!" Coryn shouted, seriously annoyed. Satsuyo was there, burning people to death. This was utterly ridiculous... Coryn charged toward Satsuyo, and struck toward the harp... There was a loud, piercing noise, as every string of the harp was struck at once. At this point, more people came, having heard the screams. They were about to attack Satsue, but then Victor and Ayra pushed their way through. "Just what is going on here?!" asked Victor, "What happened?!" Then, Ayra pointed with a shaking finger at Satsue, "You... You did this! You burnt the floor of my ship!" Coryn could see why the woman wasn't well-liked. Several people had just been killed, and she was more worried about the aesthetic state of the ship. A few charred spots in the hallway were a larger issue than the lives of her men. How could anyone seriously be this... Shallow, and completely uncaring about the lives of others? "That's it!" she said, "Both of you are going to die!" However, then Victor stepped in, "Now sweetiebird," He appeared to be almost gagging as he said it. Not that Coryn could blame him... "Calm down, think this through..." He then whispered some things in her ear. Coryn couldn't hear what they were, but it did seem to be calming her down. "Fine." she said at last, "Throw them in the brig until we reach land! And give me that harp..." Coryn didn't resist as he and Satsue were taken away. After all, it wasn't that bad... He could probably just pick the lock if he really wanted out after all. As he was walked out of the room, he saw Victor's eyes. They were the eyes of a man who was trapped, trapped in hell by a woman he should never have gotten involved with... Hearing an annoyed, snappy little voice from behind him, Satsuyo whipped around, fire reflecting off of his black eyes. "Why do you insist on ruining everything!?" he snapped back in reply, equally annoyed with Coryn. He came in to strike the harp again, and as he rose the harp up to try and beat Coryn about the head with it, the lizardman raked right down every single string, causing the twang and the switch to undergo. "I WILL get you, eventually!" he roared before slumping to the ground. As Satsue felt her senses washing over her, and someone was yelling, and it was very, very hot. The voice of the yelling was very unfamilliar, but something told her that she knew the voice. It was a woman's voice, very loud, deep, and obnoxious. She didn't know she was being pointed at, either, and thought that the lady was yelling at someone else. Also, she wondered where she was, until she heard the crackling of the fire--Satsuyo. That was where the heat was coming from. The lady then prpposed a death sentence, but she didn't know to whom was it aimed at. Satsuyo rolled his eyes inside her head. Suddenly, she was grabbed, which caused her to shriek a little bit. Not very fond of benig touched, due to the fact that it alway scared her because she could never see it coming. The grip was very firm and muscly, so she assumed it to be a male. He had very slimy hands, which made her shudder. As they were brought to somewhere, Satsue heard the slamming of a door, and locking again. Feeling around for some place to sit, her body felt tired, and suddenly she realized that most of her skin felt wet. Stunned, she rubbed her fingers together, and felt her heart rate increase. What... is that? she asked herself, or rather, Satsuyo. Blood. he answered. Isn't it glorious? Suddenly gasping in terror, Satsue began shaking in fear. "Coryn... what... just occured?" As they were tossed into the small, dark room that Coryn assumed was the brig, Satsue asked him what happened. He sighed, "What happened is, Satsuyo took over... He killed several men. We're lucky that Victor is so understanding, and that he was able to calm Ayra down, or we'd likely both be dead right now." Coryn shook his head, though he knew that Satsue couldn't see, "Of course, our chance now still aren't certain. Who knows what they'll do with us once we get to land, and besides... The crew might want to get back at Satsuyo for what he did. Which means killing you." Coryn was getting annoyed at all this. Nothing seemed to be going right at the moment... All because of that stupid pendant... |

Satsue's head lowered as Coryn described their current situation. Her shoulders turned in, which made it look like she was sitting in almost a fetile position. Her heart kept sinking lower, and lower, because she was taking the burden upon herself. She took the entire burden of being apart of Satsuyo upon herself, due to the fact that she was the one who had plucked the harp in the first place. He then mentioned that the crew would want to get back at Satsuyo for his crime, which would lead to her execution, even though technically she hadn't done anything. Literally. Not only that, but her harp was stolen from her; which meant that anyone who plucked it would trigger the switch... and most people usually had the urge to pluck the clear string, if not only for the reason that it looked different and sounded different from all the others. And sometimes, people would repeatedly pluck it to try and make it make a sound, which was a very painful thing for the two of them, even though Satsuyo couldn't feel anything. Her entire body feeling as if twisted in knots, Satsue replied with a shaky voice, "I'm sorry!" |

Coryn saw as Satsue almost seemed to shrink further, practically going into a fetal position. After a moment, she said, "I'm sorry!" Coryn shook his head, "Don't worry, it's not your fault. I know that you wouldn't deliberately let him out to kill everyone. Hopefully there's a way to remove your curse..." He shook his head. What could they do now? At this point, they were rather far out to sea, and if they broke out and jumped ship, they'd definitely drown. However, things didn't look good if they merely waited either... Of course, it was worse than he thought. He didn't realize that if the trigger string was plucked even from far away, it would affect Satsue... Ayra looked at the harp, admiring its beauty... After all, it was golden, and therefore wonderful. Though the strings were ugly, and black... Except for one. It was clear. "This looks interesting~" Ayra said, as she plucked it. Victor looked toward her as she spoke, and realized what she was doing, "Erm... Sweetiebird..." He was barely able to avoid gagging as he spoke. This woman was utterly abhorrent to him... He'd only married her because he didn't want to abandon their son after he'd been so foolish as a youth... Perhaps he should do something about her. Kick her off the ship, and order the men to kill any colorful birds they saw flying around if she decided to pursue them. ...Of course, he'd never do such a thing. He was too scared of her. Ayra looked toward him, annoyed, "Be quiet!" "But-" he tried to interrupt, but she snapped back at him, "I said quiet!" He shrugged, and hoped that this wouldn't be having any effects on that poor girl... Of course, Ayra was horrible at playing the harp, which she was attempting to do, and it was far from pleasant for him... Not to mention that their son in his bed over in the corner had suddenly began tossing and turning as if he was having nightmares... |

Telling her it wasn't her fault, Coryn seemed to be trying to comfort her. He hoped that there was some way to lift the curse, but Satsue wasn't feeling so hopeful. She'd attempted to go look at up at times when Satsuyo couldn't stop her, because he didn't like her trying to find ways to get rid of him... he so enjoyed her body. But, from what she had found, the only way for her to be freed from the harp was to give up her life. Of course, she hadn't been able to search for very long because of Satsuyo's keen senses and nose for touble. Twang. "Uh-oh," Satsue choked, her eyes suddenly bugging out. The demonic energy began creeping up her arm, until it went limp, and eventually she fell over as it took over her entire body. "Too.. much... stop..." she moaned in plea to whoever had plucked the harp; so many times in one day had they gone back and forth, it was straining her body. The form that got up again was Satsuyo, looking utterly confused. He looked at the surroundings, and then at Coryn, who was probably glaring at him. "Well, this is awkward," he muttered. A demon in a girl's body, covered in blood. Yeah, definetly weird. "Whoever stole the harp must have plucked it!" he laughed, with a fairly light tone. He didn't mind this at all! Sure, he was in a prison cell, but at least he had dominance. And because Coryn cared for Satsue, there was nothing he could do to him but spit harsh words. |

"Uh-oh" said Satsue in a choked voice. "What's wrong?!" Coryn asked, concerned. Satsue then fell over, and said, "Too... much... stop..." And then Satsuyo took over. "Oh no, it's you..." Coryn groaned. He'd had enough of this guy. At least he'd... Hopefully... Be harmless without the harp. Then Satsuyo commented that this situation was awkward, and then that whoever stole the harp must have plucked it. Coryn guessed that it was that obnoxious woman, Ayra. She had asked for the harp to be brought to her... So now what? Was Coryn going to just have to wait in this place with Satsuyo? He wasn't looking forward to that... Ayra continued attempting to play the harp, oblivious to just how horrible it sounded... She'd occasionally slip and hit the clear string again as she did so, and the silence of that bugged her far more than anything else she was doing did... Eventually, her somewhat random playing reached something that sounded almost deliberate, but it was the most ear-rending thing ever heard! The "song" if you could call it that was so horrible that Victor thought he was going to have nightmares... And then Sam woke up, and shouted in panic, "What the hell is that?!" It certainly did NOT sound like anything that could come from the harp... Ayra somehow had become so caught up in this that she didn't hear Sam's protests. And of course, they didn't see the misty shapes rising up from that water outside and then going onto the decks. They vaguely resembled humans... Covering their ears as they moaned in pain... "YES, IT'S ME," Satsuyo mocked in the same tone of voice that Coryn had used, sticking his tongue out at him. Although, the twang sounded again, and back to the ground he went. Twang it sounded again, and twang, there it went again, and again, and again. What was going on?! What sort of idiot was playing the harp with such... INTENSITY, AND REPETITION?! Back, and forth, back and forth, the two went, their forms straining as they kept having to turn again in mid-transfer. Even for Satsuyo, pain ripped through their conciousness as the harp nearly tore them apart, and in one of Satsuyo's gasps of dominence, he felt something very dagnerous. Trying to get a gasp of warning into Coryn, he called with a strained voice, "IT'S..." then after a minute or so, he got out the second word. "... THE SONG..." after that was a two minute pause. "... that summons the--... ... --UNDEAD!" Now, when one of the two conciouness becomes unconcious, the other automatically gains dominance. And thus, the form is nearly always concious. But at this point, the strain on their bodies had gone so far as to render them both unconcious for the time being, even though the string was plucking continously. Satsue, being the Host Body, had her form out, unconcious. |

Coryn ignored Satsuyo's mocking tone. However, then something seemed to go wrong. Satsuyo fell again, and appeared to remain in agony for some time... QUITE a long time. And so did Satsue, as they were shifting between... Coryn watched helplessly, having no idea what he could possibly do.Then he seemed to be trying to force words out through the pain... Coryn listened closely... It was about a minute or so between words, and if he hadn't been paying attention, he wouldn't have remembered them to string them together. A song that summons the undead? That certainly didn't sound good. ...And then, they were unconscious, in Satsue's form. Coryn tried to think about what to do next... He couldn't just leave Satsue alone, could he? But he needed to stop whoever was playing the harp... Coryn finally decided that it would be best to try and stop the playing of the harp. After all, if it was summoning undead, who knew what would happen... It wouldn't be a good idea to let everything run its course in this case. Coryn decided to at least TRY to wake Satsue up before he went up there. After all, leaving her alone certainly wasn't a good idea considering what was going on. Between undead, and the fact that the crew likely wasn't too happy with her... He bent down, and tried shaking her a bit. "Satsue? Satsue, wake up!" He wasn't so sure if it would work, since she had hardly fallen asleep normally, but... Ayra was getting better at playing the harp... Okay, not really. She still sucked at it epically, and was still somehow distorting reality to make a sound that a harp should NOT have been able to produce. OVER AND OVER AND OVER... However, her finger was no longer slipping and hitting the clear string... For some reason, she seemed to be so utterly lost in her playing that even screams wouldn't get to her. And neither Victor nor Sam wanted to see what she'd do if they tried to yank the harp away... The last man who had tried to take something out of her grip had met a very, VERY painful end. |
