"My Lord! We have a situation that needs your personal attention!" a soldier, his uniform stained with the blood of his and his comrades, came stumbling quickly into the tent. Andromalius's head snapped up in the man's direction, away from the book he'd been lost in. It was a rude awakening and an unwelcome disturbance. "Send Orion. He needs to get used to ruling this place without my help." Dark eyes narrowed dangerously. He'd never seen this man before, or if he had, he possessed a very forgettable place. For someone to come barging in to his personal quarters without warning was not to be tolerated. "I would, Sire, but we can't find him. We're losing a lot of men out there." He was holding his arm, where blood was seeping freely from a large gash, possibly made by animal claws, and it was dripping onto his floor. So, with a heavily annoyed sigh, he stood and tossed the book onto the unmade bed. "You realize, this won't work if I have to hold your hands all the gods damned time," he muttered bitterly as he passed, a white hand darting out to clutch the man's head in the palm of his hand, talons digging into the soldier's scalp to further his loss of life fluid. Directly proceeding, his hand took on a violet glow for a split second as the man's head splattered into a million wet, soggy pieces. Leaving the tent, he ordered the nearest platoon to clean up the mess he'd just made before lifting off into the air to follow the stench of death and the trail of red mud. Gaining on the spot of interest, the trail of red grew thick and sloppy, the sand along the ground twisted into designs that gave the notion of a scuffle comprised of many bodies. The mage landed, stalking on until the scene revealed itself. Picking up his robes daintily, he stepped over a cleaved body to enter the fray. It seemed a single person was taking on a handful of his city guards. More were rushing in for backup, but none seemed able to stand for too long in front of this unfamiliar fighter. "Please..." he said, interrupting. The soldiers, for the most part, halted directly and took many steps away from the demon in the center of the blood bath, for they knew exactly what was about to happen as Andromalius's arm rose, the palm of his hand opened out towards the offender. "...Please, convince me not to kill you. I would love to see you try." |

The demon was giddy with excitement as he began to make his move towards a small unit of patrolling guards. He had been decidedly quiet and placid since the day the city had been taken over, his mind switching to a sort of reconnaissance setting. He’d been everywhere; watching, waiting, thinking, and planning. One would be surprised at how calculating and methodical the normally chaotic entity could be when he really wanted something. Everything was right for him to strike. With Orion MIA, and the emperor’s lover elsewhere as well, Mirix knew exactly what the guards would do. Once overwhelmed, they’d go for a superior to save themselves and since the aforementioned leaders were unavailable, that left only the object of the demon’s desires. And so, unceremoniously he dropped from his hiding spot, springing into action and almost instantly taking out two of the guardsmen. Before they could even realize what had just happened, their entrails were splayed along the ground and their attacker had already moved to tearing apart what was rest and bludgeoning their companions with his gains… After a while, when the ground was littered with blood and strewn body parts, things were beginning to take far too long to reach Mirix’s desired outcome. He was being impatient and was well aware of it, but the soldiers weren’t very entertaining to him. They were like a stream of mindless lemmings and he was the cliff they threw themselves over. They were fairly well trained, but most were predicable, the reinforcements that showed up to help doing little to stop the onslaught. The same battle plan was used over and over, slight yet obvious indications that they were simply repeating techniques they had been taught along with the tell-tale pause when they tried to mix it up slightly. Finally, when the soldiers began to step away from him and a voice interrupted, he knew his goal had been reached. “Oh, you finally noticed?” He asked the new arrival, his tone slightly teasing as he raised a brow and turned to face him, the limp ankle of a captured soldier in his grasp. “Sheesh! It’s about time!” He exclaimed. The demon’s light eyes then roved slowly over the form of the banshee emperor as he took him in, unaffected by the outstretched arm and rapidly retreating soldiers. “Mmmhmm…” He purred at his observation before his tongue ran wetly over his lips. “I’ve been waiting for you...” Mirix used his free hand to slick back his silver hair, the action leaving a smear of blood among the natural crimson tips. ”Do know that I meant no real harm, Andromalius… I simply wanted your attention for a bit.” The demon couldn’t contain his giggling and his shoulders rumbled with the slightly crazed sound coming from his throat. ”I think I could be of much more use to you alive than dead… The question is simply, will you have me?” |

"Oh? Really? You meant no harm?" Red light enveloped his white hand before an electrical ray shot out at the demon, a spell of pain to lower him onto his knees and potentially beg for forgiveness. "You start a fight in my city," his feet began to move, carrying him closer to the demon while the red light arched upwards in an attempt to deal with the shorter distance. "And then you kill... how many of my men?" His boot knocked some spilled entrails out of his path. "Men, which I might add, are right now more useful than you are." His free hand became a fist at his side, glowing with the tell-all black light. "You have one last chance to save your own life before I extinguish it," he cooed softly upon his arrival directly in front of the fellow monstrosity, gazing down at him with cold, dark, unemotional eyes. He wouldn't be so angry, except that his rest had been disturbed. He was angry that Orion wasn't handling this, he was angry Sphynx wasn't here, he was angry that the unholy Emperor, himself, had to solve one of the easiest, most tedious problems of breaking up a street fight in order to maintain his control over the city. What an absolute pain. "What is it you sought from gaining my attention? And why do you think you are worthy enough to join my New Order?" His tone was soft, but icy, as he tilted his head at Mirix, looking him over as the beam of pain continued relentlessly. "I don't even know why I'm talking to you. I should fry your ass right now for making such a scene." |

When the hue of red caught his attention, the figure gave a barely visible smirk, eyes narrowing in just slightest of pleased reactions. He had anticipated this from the start; what with the gratuitous amount of time he had spent trailing the subject before him. This spell of pain thing seemed to be one of the emperor’s favorites, a testament to his personality. Though he knew his current thoughts were a bit presumptuous of him at this point, he was fairly certain he could dictate the banshee’s actions before he did them to a T. The ray of electricity came streaking towards him, but failed to hit its intended target; the demon was much wilier than the emperor was giving him credit for. Just as the ray would have struck him, the demon flung his arm forward, the suddenly conscious body of the captured soldier flying forward to intercept the pain inducing spell. Before he could do anything, the human was overwhelmed by the emperor’s attack, collapsing to the ground to all but writhe in pain as he was made into the demon’s meat shield. Mirix then wagged his finger, clicking his tongue in time with the motion as an amused expression crossed his features. “Now now, Andromalius…” He turned his head and cut the banshee a sly look out the corner of his eye. “You won’t see me on my knees until at least our second date.” A feline grin crossed the creature’s face as eyelashes were batted. Then he laughed, thoroughly amused with the entire situation at hand though vaguely aware that there was probably no one around who was finding it as hilarious as he was. Andromalius’ demeanor and anger seemed to go completely unnoticed by the demonic figure. So aloof was his attitude that a person would be hard pressed to make a case for his actual strategic cunning and knack for foresight. Mirix was already prepared for what could possibly happen next and though threatened, he let the emperor's words slide down back until something really drew his attention. There were so many different ways to answer the questions posed to him that for a moment, Mirix was at a lost for words. He refrained from just blurting out the first thing that came to mind. Though he knew it would be good for laughs and possibly goading the emperor into reacting violently, it wasn’t something that would help to advance his aims. “Well…” He began almost softly. “Clearly you are in need of someone a little more reliable than your current set of generals. From the outside looking in, they seem flaky as best. Of course, when you leave a human and a fallen goddess to do your dirty work, things are bound to be neglected.” Mirix paused for a moment to let that sink in. “You could use someone like me, ya see? And vice versa.” Mirix hoped that the emperor would see things as he did; even he wasn’t completely clear about what he wanted. After all, just by looking at what had happened to the guards, the banshee should see that this one had potential. Either to be well worth it ally, or an extremely bothersome thorn in one’s side. |

The re-direction of his spell was fairly ingenious. Most just stood there panicking and, in doing so, took the hit. Never has someone used a meat shield to bypass it. Mirix won some points for creative fighting, but it still wouldn't be enough. Were the Banshee in a better mood, he would likely have allowed Mirix to join without further interview. "And you're not flaky?" Seeing that the pain spell had not worked, his free hand shot forward, red light replaced by violet as a dark matter ray shot out, as thick as the length of his hand. This one had an impact, so even if he were to use another meat shield, it wouldn't keep him completely safe. Just as the light diminished, shadows came from all corners of the square to swallow him up, and in an instant, he was gone. He reappeared a moment later directly at the demon's side, performing a disciplined high kick, the flat of his foot charging towards the other's throat. "And just what is someone like you? Will you do absolutely anything I tell you to? Do you live without a moral compass? Are you capable? Useful? And what, exactly, are you getting out of it all?" It's always more difficult to recruit later in the game. A rebellion would be rising any minute, so he could very well be some sort of spy. "You remind me of Orion, and look where he is now. Not here." |

The demon hummed. “I may be a lot of things….” He started; a watchful eye locked onto the emperor, one foot already a half a step behind him. Something was already in the works of being prepared while the demon waited for the emperor’s next move. The ray of dark matter shot forward as did the demon’s foot. The pitiful soldier who was still being afflicted by the pain spell never knew what hit him. Mirrix’s boot collided hard with his limp form, the force of which sent him flying forwards at an upward angle, once more becoming the demon’s means of protection. When the man and ray collided however, the results were quite a bit different than the pain spell. The poor male ricocheted away from the physical properties of the beam and Mirix had to skirt off to the side to avoid an impending collision. He turned his head to watch as the guy, who was probably dead at this point, tumbled along the ground. “But flaky just isn’t one of them...” When Mirix then turned back to face the banshee, he was gone, much to the demon’s disappointment. Mirix didn’t see Andromalius reappear right beside him and as such the kick made full contact with its target. With a surprised, choked sound that was probably closest to a laugh and denotation of his masochistic desires, the demon fell away from the kick. He hit the ground unceremoniously, but almost instantly corrected himself, bouncing back up to a mostly steady stand. “You’re pretty good, you know that?” He asked after several moments for which he used to catch his breath and work the newly formed chink out of his neck. Mirix seemed to take no real offense to the attack and he made no attempt towards a counter, instead simply continuing to converse as if nothing had happened. “You should know that there is no such thing as a capable mindless zombie, Andromalius. I won’t do absolutely anything you tell me.” He grins devilishly before adding on, “Unless that’s a come on; then I’ll see what I can do.” Mirix winked; his fang-filled grin widening as he took a moment to completely straighten out his thoughts before continuing. “As to what I’m getting out of all this….” The demon kicked absently at an unidentifiable piece of meat along the ground. “An acting role in the greatest show the world has ever seen of course! It was your actions which drew my attention to this land in the first place after all.” Mirix nodded affirmatively at his last statement. When told that he reminded the banshee of Orion, the demon’s grin faded to a thin line to show his displeasure with the comparison. “Hmph. From what I gather, I am not nearly as moody as he. Or crazy. Or pathetically, irreversibly human.” He shakes his head while idly playing with one of his thin silver locks. “You should dock his pay for abandoning his post by the way. Hit him where it hurts.” |

He grinned once his foot connected with the demon's throat, satisfied that he'd finally managed to land a hit. The fact that he could feel the impact, too, was all the more enticing. "Yes, yes I do know," he responded casually to his compliment. "I'd have to be fairly capable to be the Emperor of the world, right?" Physical activity was an adequate vent for his moody ways. Throughout the course of what he would now call nothing but a sparring match, he was feeling much better, almost glad he was the one to come and fix this problem. Mirix was gaining his interest quickly, and he already knew he wanted him for his army. "No, it's not a come on. I do not find you attractive in any way, shape, or form, and never will." He folded his arms across his chest, shifting his weight onto the opposite foot as he gave the demon a slight head tilt of consideration. "And there is such a thing as a capable mindless zombie. I see Sphynx make them all the time." He chuckled at his own terrible joke, then took a few steps forward to arrive just in front of Mirix. "Orion doesn't get paid. He's more like a volunteer, once again, similarly to you," he grinned again. By now, he was simply playing with the other. Mirix's playful demeanor was probably bringing it out in him. "Were you seeking a particular position in the New Order? Or would you rather I choose? I have my most creative fighter fixed here, it would be nice to have you on the fields with me." |

“I suppose.” He answered nonchalantly in regards to Andromalius’ question. If the aspiring emperor of the world hadn’t been capable, it wouldn’t have been too much of a surprise to the demon. History was filled with the weak and feeble somehow coming into possession of great power. Of course, if that had been the case, the banshee likely wouldn’t have been of as much interest as he currently was to the cat eared demon. He sucked his teeth at the emperor’s next few words, his face falling somewhat when told that the man would never find any interest in him. Of course, he wasn’t really hurt and his feelings hadn’t changed in the least. Usually he took rejection as an invitation to forcibly take whatever it was that he desired. Given the subject of his infatuation though, that would be a lot easier said than done. He always did like a challenge however. “Don’t be so absolute in your judgments, Andro… I’m sure in time you’ll warm up to me plenty.” A slightly crooked grin appeared on his face after that and again he winked. Though he still dismissed the possibility of a capable mindless zombie, Mirix’s eyes lit up when the emperor mentioned his chosen queen. “Sphynx…” He purred huskily, mostly to himself, but in a tone that did nothing to hide his affection for the one spoken of. “About that…” He started when asked about what kind of position he was looking for. “Something along the lines of what you just suggested… I need the action and excitement, or at least the changing scenery to keep me busy else I’ll get… Antsy.” What exactly that meant he didn’t say, but basically, if the banshee were to put Mirix in a governing position over a city, more likely than not after about a week there wouldn’t be anything left to come back to. The demon’s lips then curled upwards into a feline smile as he suddenly offered a thought which had just come to him. ”Perhaps something alongside Sphynx, then? I think we quite enjoyed each other’s company last time our paths crossed.” |

"Don't call me Andro. My name is Andromalius. I won't accept lazy shortenings of it, it's all there for a reason," he commented nonchalantly as he idly adjusted the fastens of his bracers. His head lifted suddenly, his index finger motioning to all the bloody remnants of dead men around him. "Soldiers, clean this mess up and return to your posts. Take the day off if you're injured or mentally unable to continue." As he instructed the remaining men around him, some of them set to work, a pair of men helped drag the injured to a medic, and some of them just about exploded into giggle fits at the phrase 'mentally unable to continue'. Most of Andromalius's men shared the same dark hearts and lack of morals, just not his brain, so they scampered off to their posts. His attention returned to Mirix at the way he said his lover's name. His eye twitched with jealousy before his facade returned to the careless distance it held before. "Action it is then. But know this-" the Banshee King closed the distance between the demon and himself, a painted talon hovering in Mirix's face, it's owner apparently quite serious. "If I see you getting too comfortable with her, I'll put your dick on display." The hand lowered, Andromalius perked up with an eerily happy grin, "Otherwise, welcome to the New Order! I'll be your undead overlord for this conquest!" The mage gripped the demon's arm in a fashion that he may do the same, making the pact official. "My forces will be arriving in full at the Black Tower, my home in Morrim along the mountains. After leaving Ashoka in a few days, Sphynx and I will be headed that direction to move on to what I'm going to do about Soto. If something occurs, you'll be the first to know. Don't disappoint me." The Emperor turned to leave, hesitating before doing so, "Oh, and kudos on getting my attention with the high profile bloodshed of my own men. I might have done the same thing." Mirix almost chuckled at the emperor’s response to his newly given nickname, but held it back. Though he was sure that doing so would eventually either annoy or be ignored by the banshee, the command to say his entire name was mentally ignored. He’d refrain from actually saying the banshee’s name directly for a little while now, but when he did decide to, “Andro” would be the name of choice. The silver haired demon thought it was quite the improvement if he did say so himself. Not that “Andromalius” was a bad name per ce, it was simply in his nature to expect names with as few syllables as possible. “What reason is that?” He asked, suddenly gazing longingly at the one before him with an intense, unblinking stare. The question sounded serious, but in truth the demon’s words, actions and general demeanor was simply him being facetious. Because of his unblinking stare, the little twitch of the eye given off by Andromalius did not go unnoticed by the cat eared creature. Slowly, Mirix’s mouth began to spread into a wide, toothy smile at the show of emotion. Whether the emperor knew it or not, Mirix loved to incite, provoke and tease people and now that he had a slight inkling as to what he could do to Andromalius with those points in mind, he would. His brow rose when the emperor began speaking to him again, closing the distance that stood between them. The talon was mostly ignored as the demon stared at the eyes beyond it; a grin still plastered upon his face. The words that the emperor spoke to him made a shiver run down his spine while the seriousness in his voice caused the little hairs on the back of the demon’s neck to stand on end. “I’m into voyeurism, but that would make the rest of your men feel very self conscious and inadequate.” He responded with an easy tone of voice while tilting his head ever so slightly to the side. “Congrats, boss man!” He exclaimed once it was spoken that he had been welcomed the New Order, as Andromalius called it. Of course the congratulation wasn’t to himself, but to Andromalius and he gripped the other’s arm accordingly. Mirix saw himself as a major asset after all and as such it was only to the emperor’s benefit that the demon is on his team. He then listened closely to what his new boss was telling him, making mental notes as to what he would do in regards to the information and saluting when all was said and done. A silent sigh of satisfaction breezed through him once it was all over and Andromalius turned to go, but his attention was reawakened when a compliment flew his way. A genuine smile then graced Mirix’s lips and he palmed his cheeks while swaying slightly; feigning embarrassment. “Aw shucks! You’re too kind.” |
