Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

Kenna
Queen of Angkar

Perched on the ocean cliffs at Fort Mercury, a stone fortress stood watch over a small but comfortable residence. The sun was slowly setting and a lone figure knelt atop the flat roof. Dark hair obscured a woman's face as she carefully pulled errant plants from among the brilliantly colored foliage of a rooftop garden. A light sheen of sweat upon her brow, she looked up towards the sky, wiping the back of her wrist across her forehead.

She had to admit, she liked the feeling of dirt under her fingernails. It reminded her of a simpler time. A time without the weight of a nation on her shoulders. A time when she did not have to worry about the safety of those she loved. At this moment, the woman stood. Her belly was swollen, and her face glowed with the expectation and excitement of life renewing itself.

Kenna brushed her hands together and then placed one over the bulge of her stomach. She closed her eyes briefly then returned her gaze to the sky, smiling.
"At least I am not truly alone, my child. You are here with me." Kenna's eyes flashed with a brief sadness and loneliness. It had only been a few months since Razarod had sent her to Soto for her "safety" and yet she missed him as though it had been years. This was no time for her to be alone and away from her husband.

To complicate the issue further, she knew of that woman - Freya LaShale - had been slinking around her husband. Certainly, Kenna trusted her husband but there was always a part of her that wondered how separate the two souls that had joined in the man she loved actually were. How much did the love Galarod had brought into Razarod could keep Raziel's eye from straying? The thought pierced her heart.

"My lady! It becomes dark, you should come inside." A guard had come up behind her, waiting on the stair that led to the kitchens in the large home Razarod had found for his pregnant wife.

Taking one last look at the sky painted red Kenna descended into her lonely prison, all the while holding a hand over her growing child.

Love Thief

What with Razi available to her so often, the bandit had almost nearly forgotten her little side project: lighting the flame of a dog of a king. Sure, Razarod was intimidating, regal, all of the normal kingly personality traits, but he was her king, of her native land, and she could not respect a man who ignored their animal instincts, who turned away from the stranger side of the world. His little queen was counterproductive. Her, with her normality, her disgusting sweetness, and even now, the way she glowed in her pregnancy - children, something Freya didn't think she'd ever understand. This woman before her acted as if she'd never been touched by the crashing horror that is ugly truth, the misery of reality, the theft of spirit and will. While potentially sharing the same man didn't bother her too much - she had Razi, after all - it was this glaring difference in the way they lived their lives and kept their thoughts that she hated so much, that fueled her to follow this drab, kid-creating creature. Freya wanted to corrupt this goodness, to see the veil of innocence lost, to know the bitch's heart is as withered as her own.

"My lady! It becomes dark, you should come inside." A guard came to collect the little peach, making the bandit scoff silently. As if anyone would ever do the same for her. Eventually, the woman descended back into the fortress, and once again, the bandit was alone.

Her figure rose from the opaque shadows where within she took her refuge. Standing tall, her hair blended in rolling, luscious waves into the sky of twilight, the breeze playing with the bloody tresses. Green eyes glinted viciously, malicious intent poisoning the emerald hues. A gloved hand wrapped tightly around the handle of the falchion blade at her side, turning her knuckles white.

The stronghold was built to stand against armies, but not professional thieves. At least, not this one.

Kenna
Queen of Angkar

Kenna reached the bottom of the stair and looked around the well-stocked kitchen area. She walked to the table and picked up some bread and cheese. Kenna gladly acknowledged that the growing baby in her womb wasn't causing her to waddle... yet.

Candles were quickly being lit around the residence and Kenna quickly took to her study. She pulled a few books from the shelf and some parchment and sat down at the desk beneath the window that looked out over the sea. She was going to pen a letter to her husband. It had been too long since she had seen him and she longed to feel him in her bed beside her. Any bed was far too empty without his massive frame sprawled beside her.

Kenna grinned as she picked up a quill. The thought of a sleeping Razarod always brought a smile to her face. Such a large man in such a harmless, peaceful state seemed so at odds with itself. As she dipped the quill in ink to begin her letter, Kenna winced and looked up.

That baby was getting quite a leg to it... and they still had a few months to share this body. It was going to be a long few months. Kenna again ran over the things in her mind that made time creep at an unbearable pace: Razarod was not near enough to see her every day. Kenna longed to see the face of her child. The guards and servants here at the fort tended to avoid Kenna. She had not spent much time in this area of the kingdom and she felt the unease of those around her. They were not used to her kind and open personality. So Kenna frequently found herself holed up in her study - writing letters and reading books. She hoped Razarod would be able to visit in the next few weeks.
