Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity. But how long will that peace last? Mjor just grinned as Alyssa ran her finger along his cheek. "Well... When you put it like that" he half said, half purred "I am half hoping it doesn't happen today" he kissed her cheek lighty as she slinked away to the water. He watched her spash her face, her hair... He imagined what it would feel like to run his fingers through that same hair, he wondered if her skin could be so perfect across the rest of her body, he longed to kiss her, not quickly like he had, but passionatly, deeply... He found that he could not look away, even if he had wanted to. It was mesmerising, he had seen a fair few tricksters, conjurers, hypnotists and the like in his time, and none of them had the ability to keep his attention like she did. Then again, he never loved any of them. There it was again, the word which kept popping up in his thoughts every time he let them flow freely. Love. he half chuckled at that, again unsure of how everything fit together to lead him to the here and now, he was just glad it did. Alyssa finished her washing routine, and began to walk back to him. Suddenly Mjor realised how little control her had in his facial muscles, and quickly changed his expression from the dreamy (and slightly foolish looking) content, to a soft, relaxed smile. He found that there were few other expressions he could even imagine doing... everything was just too perfect. She took the cloth from his hand, and cheerfully informed him that her poder had worked, "Of course its better" he told her, gazing once more into those deep, beautiful, unfathomable eyes "It was seen to by the best". As he said this, on the rockface just by the waterfall, the first few dots of light began to appear. For now they were plain white, but in a few brief minutes, they would be all the colours of the rainbow, and cover the rockface in their splendour. "Its starting, my love" was all Mjor could say as he saw it. |

Alyssa smiled, as she placed the cloth into her bag. Many people had told her she was the best one thing or another, but she liked it best when Mjor told her she was worth value, that she was special. His attention was called by the rock face by the waterfall, she turned to see what he had spotted. The sun's rays had risen above the height of the trees and was beginning to shine on the stone. She watched patiently waiting for the sun to continue its pursuit through the sky. Seconds passed, and then a minute, suddenly she was temporarily blinded by a flash of light. Her eyes were directly concentrated on the angle of light. She looked away, rubbing her eyes then opened them again, she was shocked to find herself standing in a living rainbow. Hues of reds, blues, oranges, yellows, greens and various other colours in between covered the entire glade, giving it an ethereal feeling as if they were on another world. She didn't know what to say, it was breathtaking, all she could do was lean her head on Mjor's shoulder and enjoy what she saw. Finally the climax, she thought to herself, the sole reason that she had come to this glade. The reason she had not missed the chance to be with such a man as Mjor, her love. She was thankful for everything that had happened to her. "You're welcome" whispered a soothing voice from out of nowhere. She turned her head to look up at Mjor, he had not shown any sign of having noticed the voice, so she assumed that it had all been in her head. In a surge of happiness she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek "Thank you" she whispered in his ear, as if a shout could ruin the beauty within the glade. |

Mjor watched as the light slowly crept down the rockface... It seemed like it would be a distinctly average display, or so he thought. And then he was proved to be oh so wrong. He had never seen it quite this special, quite this amazing before, it illuminated the whole glade in its ethereal display of colour and beautiful. Or maybe it just appeaered to be so much better, because for the first time he was sharing it with somone. No, not just with someone. He was sharing it with the someone, the first person since his Uncle's passing he had trusted with anything, this first one who he felt he wanted to spend time with, the first person he cared about. And the very first person he truly loved. With joy he felt her wrap her arms around his neck, and then he felt her lips place and oh so perfect kiss on his cheek. "Thank you" she whispered to him. Mjor placed one arm around her waist, and kept the other by her shoulders "Thank you" he whispered back "For showing me the one thing more beautiful than this" he looked at her... She truly was... And then, he could not help himself, he leaned forwards and locked lips with her, kissing her softly, but deeply. Despite only knowing her a short while, to do that, whilst surronded by the dawn light show of this place, it was what he wanted most in the world. |

Alyssa blushed as Mjor called her even more beautiful than the dancing lights within the glade. Her head felt light, she vaguely caught herself being thankful that she had decided to chew on the piece of mint leave, though slowly her mind began slipping into a daze while Mjor drew closer to her. Her eyes focused on his rich brown ones, so full of love; love solely for her. A feeling which she reciprocated for him, the moment was so perfect. She had forgotten about the coloured lights as they danced around the glade, she forgot about the trees, the flowers, the pool, the entire glade, she only saw Mjor. She leaned towards him as he came towards her, drawn by a force she knew only as instinct. Their lips touched, Mjor didn't pull away and neither did she, his arms pulling her into a close embrace as they passionately kissed. At no other time in her life had she felt so complete, such a mixture of emotions that she could not verbally explain, aside from the fire of passion that burned fiercely within her heart as they kissed. She took no notice of the time that may have passed, her thoughts solely on Mjor. The sun however, pays heed to man or woman, and continued its path through the heavens. The light in the glade grew brighter and the shadows shorter, the colours of light slowly faded away, leaving pure morning sunlight. She would have to return to the glade one day, perhaps for an anniversary, or maybe, if all things went according to plan, and the gods above felt merciful, maybe they would bring their children to the glade. It was rather humorous really, she had originally left her home in order to not get married but here she was with the love of her life, hoping that someday they would get married. However, marriage could wait, now she would relish every moment. |

For the first time since he had brought her here, Mjor found his mind completely and utterly at ease, the last remnants of his old way of life resisting what was happening finally put to rest. He pulled her as close as he could, letting the two of them melt together. Everything about her was perfect, right down to the taste of mint, the way she fit so perfectly in his arms, the way she talked, the way she thought, everything about seemed to be designed in such a way as to make him love her as much as he possibly could. And he no longer cared how or why he thought like that. Around him the morning display drew to a close, fading before vanishing, but he did not notice nor care, it served only as a marker, something to prove that in fact time had continued whilst they kissed, and not stopped completely as he originally believed. Of course, sadly they did have to stop, Mjor pulling ever so slightly away after what felt like days "I love you" he whispered to her, for the first time this had nothing to do with him affirming it to himself, he kissed her again, with just as much passion, but for a shorter time, before he ever so slighlty leaned away, and rested his foreead against hers, looking into her eyes, enthralled by the sound of her breathing. |

Alyssa's hands slid from behind Mjor's neck as she somehow knew that he was going to draw away, resting them on his shoulders. How long had they been kissing? She didn't know, but that didn't matter, the whole experience would last for eternity within her mind. She had never kissed anyone with such passion, nor had she been kissed in such a manner. It was all so romantic. As instinctively guessed, he pulled away from her slightly, his arms still around her in an embrace "I love you" he said before placing his lips on her's once again and kissed her deeply for a second time. She didn't care that she had no chance to tell him she loved him too, she knew that he knew she loved him with all her being. The kiss came to an end sadly soon enough, however it was understandable. As much as she longed to stay in the glade forever with Mjor, their presence was notable within the glade, they would have to leave. She also had a charm that she needed to create as soon as possible, she had the materials and would make it later. He rested his forehead against her's, and stared into her eyes, she stroked his cheek with her hand, gliding her hand over it softly. She felt like she would kiss him again, but they couldn't possibly spend all day in each other's arms. Well, perhaps it was possible, but they had a full day ahead of them, and they were continuing their travels, their separate roads forged into one path. She noted that the birds were singing their morning chorus and the dew was beginning to evaporate. The coolness that had been in the air at dawn changed to a much warmer temperature. "So what are we going to do now?" she asked. |

Mjor loved the feeling of having her in his arms. Admittedly, it was a little weird, the whole idea of being in love, and he still, shamefully, had to admit he had never spoken to any female in depth, ever, if you discounted the last day. It made everything strange and new. But... The freshest fruit was always the sweetest, and he had found his fruit, he had the individual grape in the vinyard which was so completely and uncompromising perfect. And he would treasure it. He would tend to it, and from this one tiny grape, he would grow his own vinyard, and the vines, like the love between him and Alyssa, would face hardship, maybe at times they may would be forced to be cut back, but they would be growing, always growing to make something... His metaphor collapsed a little. Never mind. And then she asked a worriying question "So what are we going to do now?". Mjor was not quite sure what she meant... Was this her being seductive and forward? If so, Mjor had to admit... No. That was old him. He knew her well enough to know she wasn't that forwards, hell, even with the intense love he was sure she felt just as much as him, she had only initiated the smallest of kisses herself, it didn't mean she didn't love him as much as he her, she just wasn't very forwards. Which meant it was the other, much tougher to answer meaning that the question had. Mjor thought for a moment, although still lost in the sweet music of her breathing, before replying "I guess" he thought aloud "I guess I will follow you" he decided "So what is it you want, my sweet, beautiful flower?" he asked. He had been paid recently (it had been the reason he was in the Tavern yesterday to begin with) so money was not an immediate concern. And when that changed... Well, he would take a job then. The world was full of people not willing to die for a cause, you just had to find them and see how much they were willing to offer someone else to. |

What did she want? There was so much in the world to see, there were the beaches of Sedokai, she had been told the beaches were beautiful, but she had never been to a beach. She knew they were kind of like the bank of a pool of water, except that they had sand and the waves would crash against the shore. It seemed like that would be an interesting experience, it was said to be west of Soto, so the journey wouldn't be too far. To visit the island of Angkar would be nice, though the journey would not be easy. They would have to travel across the ocean to get to the island. Alyssa had never travelled across a vast expanse of water, the mere thought of it was unnerving, she would have no access to any plants while on the sea, her primary means of defence, though she trusted that Mjor would protect her if anything were to happen. Though, why did she expect anything to happen? It would be a fun experience, riding on the waves, the salty wind blowing her hair, an endless horizon of water, and beautiful sunsets. Her grandfather had been to Angkar, he said that there were cities within the dense jungle, he gave her a beautiful necklace adorned with a red stone that shined brilliantly when sunlight hit it. She had left it at home in her jewelry box. She slightly regretted that. The temple of Nature was another option, she had heard so much about it's beauty and splendour. Her mother told her that she had been taken there as a baby to be blessed by the spirits of nature, another wish of her grandmother's. She remembered nothing about the blessing, but her mother told her it was a grand affair. Her grandmother, who supposedly returned to the forest appeared for the ceremony, bathing her in a scented perfume while the priest of earth said the blessing. It was said that while the nymphs sang a song of rebirth that all the flowers bloomed within the room, while she gurgled in her mother's arms. She of course remembered nothing about what had happened but, it would be nice to return there. It was at her blessing that her mother was introduced to the elusive Lily of Sanita which grew within the Earth Sanctuary. Every part of the plant has powerful healing enzymes; the petals and pollen being the least potent and the roots being the strongest. In ancient days the lily was said to have been the reason for longer lasting life for those who drank the tea of its leaves, and curing even the direst of ailments, natural or supernatural. However, the plant had almost died out for reasons unknown to most, it is near impossible to find a wild Lily of Sanita which is why, they did not allow her mother to obtain one of the plants from the temple. Alyssa hoped that if she were to get there she would be able to multiply the flower, courtesy of her powers, and perhaps take some of it for herself, to be used in emergencies. If not, the experience of returning to the temple of nature would be fine for her. Perhaps she would receive another blessing? She would also be able to learn many things from the plants within. Yes, that was where she wanted to go. Together with Mjor she would go to the temple of Nature, it was not too far away, they would still be in Soto. If they left now they could reach the temple perhaps by noon if they made good time. "Speaking of flowers" she said with a smile "I would love to go to the Temple of Nature. They say that it truly is a magnificent place to visit. In fact I've been there once as a baby." She thought fondly of the memories she vaguely had of the temple, the green, the scent of flowers, that and flashes of pictures were all she remembered. |

Mjor could tell she was thinking. It was the little pause, and he could tell by her eyes she was thinking about a great many things. He wondered if he really was reading her right, or just attaching more meaning onto his love than there was. Well, whether he was right or wrong, he was happy, and unless she was really hiding something, he was sure Alyssa was also. That was all that mattered. One thing he knew well, a single, meaningful relationship, be it friend, family or lover, was more than a hundred casual meetings. He had tried both, and every kiss with Alyssa meant more to him than any and everything he had done with any other woman he had been with. "The temple of nature it is then" he announced in a slightly over the top manner "I must admit, I know little of it... But, for now I have no need to take on any work, so I can put all my effort into my most important duty of all. You" he shifted a little on his feet. "But first, I have to do something... Would you wait here, just for five minutes?" he asked, as he picked up his weapons, he strapped them to himself as he walked over to his Uncles Grave. He knelt before it, and spoke quietly, he did not want Alyssa to hear him, not for any reason, it was just... Well, a private conversation with the man he owed everything to "Heya Unc" he whispered to the rock "It's me, Mjor... Not as if we have anyone else, eh? Well... Thats part of what I wanted to tell you." he shifted a little "But first, I need to say again how sorry I am for letting you down, for letting this happen. I am sorry I was weak. I have still been keeping up my training as much as possible, and I am still doing as you told me to... And... Well, I hope you are okay with this, but I think that... Well... I think I finally got told what I needed to hear. For your sake, I am going to move on, and try and be as happy as I can. Which leads me back, I guess. You can see her, right? Over there? It was her who helped me move on, let me... Not leave it behind, but sort of like that. She is great, isn't she? I wish... I wish you were still here to meet her" he closed his eyes "But I promise you, I will never let her down like I did to you, never." he clenched his fists, and looked down. "I may not be back for quite a while again now... So don't wait up". He stood, and after taking a moment to recollect himself, he walked back to Alyssa. "Shall we go, then?" he asked her, holding out a hand to her "We could stop off for breakfast somewhere back in Madrid, have something nice before our journey?" he offered, feeling at peace. |

She was pleased that she would finally be going to visit the Temple of Nature. Mjor, mentioned that he wouldn't have to work for a while. She was happy that he wouldn't have to worry about any finances, though she was also glad because it meant that it postponed the impending argument she was going to have with him when the time came for her to tell him about her wish to follow him to battle. Hopefully she would be able to get that flower that her mother had spoken about, she would be able to use it as a lever in the argument, if its healing properties were truly as miraculous as described. He asked her to wait for a moment, while he walked over to the grave of his uncle. She respected the moment and allowed him to go speak to his uncle. She mentally greeted the flowers cheerfully, who responded in return happily. Walking over to one of the trees on which a small vine was growing, she took it off the tree. It was rather limp and small but she rolled it up and placed into her bag, if she was planning to stay with Mjor she would need a weapon for herself, aside from her spellwood staff. The small vine would make an excellent whip, and had many other possible uses. When Alyssa turned back, Mjor had returned to her side, he gallantly held out his hand to her. She curtsied and smiled taking his hand with her own. "Yes, breakfast would be nice" she said as they began to walk out of the glade. She glanced back behind her at the glade, still in its perfect serenity. Not a blade of grass out of place, the flowers bright, and welcoming, the soothing gurgle of the waterfall. She was reminded of something her grandmother had taught her one night "Be fruitful, and grow. Let no storm bring you harm, nor strange human trample your ground. Serenity forever." A blessing she had been taught to bring prosperity to the plants and all nature. She couldn't wait until she returned to the glade. |
