Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity. But how long will that peace last? The noon day sun shone through the canopy of the forest, giving the area an almost green tinge to it. Animals called out with their various wild cries, calling for food, or just a companion. In the distance the smooth murmuring of the river could be heard as it splashed over and around small rock obstacles eroded with time. A clear path was not quite discernible in this part of the forest, less travelled by wanderers, leaving it open to the mercy of nature. Roots, vines, plants and flowers covered the remnants of the path, most would be lost in such a place. However the silence was serene, not threatening, one could take the time to sit back, and relaxing taking their time as they traversed. Scarlet did not intend to pay attention to the peacefulness that surrounded her. She was hungry. Not the regular kind of hungriness either, for she had already swindled a travelling troupe of dancers for their meals, before leaving them stranded having frightened their horses away purposely. She chuckled to herself at her intelligence, she was so clever, and oh so wicked. Though she was hungry for more wickedness, a hex, a trap, something to tickle her mischievous fancy. This part of the forest, covered in thick undergrowth would be the perfect setting. Those who usually travelled these paths were usually lost, or did not expect to run into the likes of another, nor would anyone be able to see her commit her misdeed, which would allow her to continue her white witch charade. If she was really lucky she would come across a nobleman, she despised them the most. Scheming the various plans she pressed on forward. Sitting precariously on her broom as it putted forward a few feet off of the ground in a general direction Scarlet simply determined as straight ahead. Keeping her eyes and ears peeled for any travellers she might find. |

Tekun sat there hunched over against a tree, his zwei hander firmly planted in the ground and his katana hidden behind him. He was sleeping, unrestfully, his mind located somewhere between a nightmare and deep thought. Events from over three hundred years ago played through in his mind on a loop. The carnage disturbed him to this day. He woke for but a moment before succuming to his wearieness. Before he himself knew it, he fell fast asleep without even so much as a word. |

"Ahh, what's that I hear?" thought Scarlet, while slowing her broom's pace. She could have sworn she heard the gentle breath of sleeping. If her ears were correct she would be elated, a sleeping traveller was even better than one who was awake, they would always panic as soon as they woke up, a moment she relished. She peered forward trying to see if she could spot anything. A small doubt forming in her mind, for the sound of breathing could have easily been the wind, or an animal of some sort. There! She spotted him. A young man, perhaps in his twenties lay asleep against a tree. Easy pickings for the witch, who silently approached on her broom, coming closely very slow, as if she were stalking her prey, and was about to pounce. She was one with the wind, holding her breath, and raising her hand slowly above her head. That glowed an eerie green. Her eyes twinkled as she smacked the boy across the face. She cackled, for the transformation had taken its course. The young man was changing rapidly into a warty toad. She laughed again, it was her second favourite thing to do, aside from lighting things, animals, and people on fire. However she wasn't in the mood for fire, she watched eagerly while on her broom to see how he was going to respond. |

Tekun awoke suddenly and surprised. He found that he was not himself at all. He sat there on the ground, amazingly, his clothes had shrunk with him. He was a toad, a large one at that, and he stared up at what appeared to be a giant witch dressed in all scarlet. There was silence, Tekun was completely dumbfounded. He knew not if he could speak or anything at all. "Guuu-" He let out, surprised. It would appear he could talk, rather nervously at that. "Heeeeh....well....I can assume your the one who did this....pretty.....crafty...." "HOW COULD I BE SO CARLESSS GAH!!" He screamed on the inside. |

"Ohohohoho" Scarlet chuckled raising her hand in front of her mouth to dramatize the laugh. She bent down, peering at the toad which sat before her, she enjoyed how the clothes shrank along with them, it was quite adorable. "Excuse me while I point and laugh at your vulnerability" she said further laughing, now pointing her manicured finger at the pathetic toad. She abruptly stopped laughing and without further warning she whipped out a large potato sack, her eyes glinting with malice. "We shall be going on a little trip, my precious toad" she said coldly. She brought the sack over the toad and tied it up with a rope. She looked at the warrior's weapons, examining them quickly. "Hmm...I wonder how much someone will buy these?" she mused out loud making sure that the toad heard her. It was clear that one of the weapons were going to be too heavy for her to pick up but the katana, she would be able to bring along with her. She'd come back for the other weapon when she had a wagon of some sort. Swinging the bag over her left shoulder, she continued down the trail humming a joyful tune. Tekun struggled in the woman's hands, unable to break free, she attempted to shove him in a potatoe sack. Unfortunently she did, rather successfully at that. She then proceeded to tie the top with a rope. He heard something about selling his weapons off. He only hoped she didn't realize his wanted status. The next thing he knew, he was thrown about the bag as it was flung over her shoulder. Desperatly, Tekun tried to work his way up to the bag's entrance. Miraculously, he managed to fit his head through where she tied the rope. "Hey!" He shouted angrily, louder then what one would think for being a toad. "It's one thing to turn me into a toad, try and sell my weapons off and then throw me into a sack. But it's another thing to slam that sack into your shoulder blade!! I'm small now! Things like that can KILL me!" |

Scarlet looked back over her shoulder with an amused smile. This toad had an interesting attitude. Normally her victims would quiver at the bottom of the sack, not even uttering a croak. This toad had managed to climb up the sack, stick its head out and on top of that spoken to her with complaint. She admired him for that, though he could very well be just blatantly unaware of the current situation he was in. This toad however didn't seem to be a complete full, despite how easy it had been to transform him. Scarlet shrugged "I suppose you're right" she said, continuing her walk down the path. "I suppose I shouldn't bruise the merchandise" She sat down on her broom which putted away in the direction she was walking. It was rather silent, she supposed it would be a good idea to get to know her toad. The customer would be much more aware of what he or she was buying. Hopefully she had captured a prince of some sort, that would be a jackpot and live a life of luxury. Though his apparel did not appear to be one of a prince. Perhaps he was a merchant's son, that would also provide her with a large wad of money, if she found the right people. "So." she started casually in a friendly manner "Where are you from Mr...toad?" she asked while keeping a firm grip on her sack. She didn't want to lose her prize before finding how much it was worth. |

"I'm not going to answer a damn thing from you ma'am." Tekun spoke rather harshly, glaring if he could. He wasn't about to let his pride go along with his physical appearance. "You will however find that having me around can lead to some pretty....unpleasent attraction. Tell me, how well can you defend yourself in an actual fight? You only managed to change me because I had just gone four days without sleep. I'd recomend changing me back before you get in over your head." |

"How...kind" said Scarlet with her eyes narrowed slightly in almost a glare, she definitely did not trust that young man. How dumb did he think she was? It was clear that he was a scheming little planner, despite the toad-sized brain he had. She firmly believed that as soon as she reverted him to his former form he would attack her, most likely ending either in her death, or her flight to safety. Neither of those options led her to any gain in money what so ever. She wasn't entirely in the mood for concocting potions to sell either. It was quite a dreary job, standing behind a stall all day, selling foolish potions for love, luck, riches, etc. All the while smiling sweetly at anyone who passed by, and basking in the heat of the sun all day. She shuddered at the thought. "I'm touched by your forethought" she said to the toad. Patting it's cool and slightly moist head. "However, I am quite capable of taking care of myself" she said, urging her broom to pick up its pace and raise in elevation as it flew through the forest. "You have also told me that people are looking for you" she said with a smirk. "People maybe...with money. People I would gladly sell you to" |

"You dream of making a fortune by selling me, but you are mistaken. The people who look for me are not going to simply buy me off of you. These are the kind of people who would rape and murder you hun." Tekun said rather bluntly ignoring the stare and the pat on his head. Though he had to admit it felt good. "After they were done with you, they'd move on to me. I don't think any of us want that." There was a long pause. Tekun thought for a moment. He did not need this on top of everything else that was going on. "I won't hold anything against you if you change me back. We can both leave here, part ways. Act as though nothing happened." |

Scarlet halted the flight of her broom, pondering what to do next. Rape usually meant mess, and she had no intention of sweeping up the charred remains of a mysterious rapist in the near future. She looked at the toad, once again, could she really trust him? He had after all, let his guard down currently putting him in this situation. Would it be wise for her to let her own guard down? "On one hand" she said out loud physically raising her right hand and looking at it "You could be telling the truth, saving me from unknown perils...and rape" she raised her other the hand, the sack landing on the straw part of the broom, while she balanced precariously on the broom stick. "On the other hand, you could be telling a lie, waiting to murder me brutally when I transform you back into your original form." Scarlet stared at the toad, leaning closely to it. "Ok, how about this" she said "How about, I make you promise on a magical fire?" she said still tentatively going forth with her latest idea. "That way, you won't be able to kill me, without being killed by the fires of judgement yourself" She nodded content with her plan. "How about that?" |

"Very well. But you will return me back to where you found me and never turn me into this again. It's not exactly comfortable." Tekun said. "Also, don't keep me on the broom's edge. It's hard for me to exactly hang on." He was unsure if she was exactly able to do that, but seeing as she considered the option, she must have believed him. He gave a sigh of relief, glad that there would be no mess after all. (Ooc: You able to get on msn?) |

Scarlet glanced once more at the toad. "Fine" she said, though she still did not like the idea, it seemed so very risky. She took hold of the sack, making sure that it was safely in her grasp so that the toad wouldn't make an untimely demise. It wasn't that she was really worried about the toad, more of a dislike of cleaning the remains of a battered one. It was quite disgusting. Scarlet grabbed the top of the handle of her broom pulling it into an abrupt stop. She then guided the broom back into the direction they had originally started in. She pulled her body closer to the broom making her more aerodynamic, and the broom accelerated down the remains of the path hidden within the forest. It was then that she spotted the large weapon she had been forced to leave behind. It remained behind the tree where she met the spirited little toad. Lowering her altitude so that her feet almost touched the ground, she hopped off the broom, placing the toad beside the tree. She stepped away from the tree, and raised her hand which glowed a bright red. She drew a star in the air with her hand, leaving a trail of dark red flames. "Fire of darkness listen to me, toad he is, man he'll be. Promise forged with magical flames, if he kills me he'll suffer the same" The fire grew brighter, turning into a ribbon of dark fire which went to the toad. The flames spun around the toad, spinning faster and faster until they were but a blur of light. The flames grew taller continually spinning around him. Scarlet got onto her broom and floated away from the fires cautiously; watching from above. The fire spun higher and higher until they were about the size of the man's original height. There was a flash of light and the fires were gone leaving the man where the toad had once been. "Alright, all is well, remember that promise of yours" she said eyeing him mistrustfully. |

Tekun took a deep breath and then coughed. He had been reverted. He streched out his fingers and then arms. He looked up to see someone in the distance watching, a group of them. He reached for his zwei hander and removed it from the ground. "I'll keep my word." Tekun said looking at the red witch. Suddenly one rushed from the brush brandishing an act charging them both. Without a word, Tekun lifted the blade with two hands and with one quick forceful move. Lifted the blade through the air, slamming it down next to Scarlet. There was an explosion of blood and gore as the bounty hunter was cleaved in two halves. Tekun then changed stances, letting the blade remain on the ground. "Unfortunently, looks like we ran into a few of them." |

Scarlet barely had the chance to utter "Good" when the young man took his rather large sword, and swung it (a feat she thought near impossible for someone of his stature). The sword was swung in her direction, she cursed her luck, it turned out that things were going to get messy after all. In a fit of rage, an aura of intense fire erupted around her, but to her amazement, the sword landed directly beside her, perhaps shaving off a few of the bristles on her broom, and slashed in half some other man who had managed to creep up beside her. Blood splattered everywhere, even on her clothing, much to her dismay. She would have to clean it later, for there appeared to be others. She turned around after the young man had said "Unfortunately, looks like we ran into a few of them." It was clear that they were nothing more than petty barbarians, whose simple minds were key on getting the young man, and killing and or raping her person. She did not like them one bit. She hovered over to the young man's side handing him his katana. "So....I guess you were telling the truth after all" she said while stepping lightly onto the ground, taking her broom in hand. She raised it above her head, and it lit up with fierce dark flames. Swinging the staff in the direction of one of the men who were approaching a ball of swirling dark fire jumped off the broom as if it were possessed and jumped onto the man, lighting him on fire. The man paniked desperately trying to put the flames out, he dropped to the ground and began to roll. The rolling came to an abrupt stop as Tekun raised the blade and slammmed down on him with the blunt end of the sword. There was a loud sickening crunch that seemed to echo for miles. Arrows from a bow shot out from the brush. One planted it self in Tekun's arm. He winced in pain as he tilted the blade and planted it in the ground. "I don't decieve people." Tekun said as he ripped the arrow from his person and slammed it to the ground and used it for cover. He then drew his katana as he watched the enemy circle around. Two were dead now. How many were left? He tried to get a good glimpse. One, two, three...maybe four. Two with a bow. The other two buying their time. "Four of em left." He said to Scarlet. "Draw em out!" |

Scarlet nodded, and placed both her hands close together cupped. A flickering light could be seen forming through the cracks between her fingers. "Swamp fire, lead them to their ends" she whispered to her hands. "Oh, don't lead this guy to his end" she said while raising her hand to the young man's face and quickly drawing it back to herself. Satisfied, she let her hands open up and a small ball of bright green fire flew out from her hands. It floated away, twirling interestingly around the two of them before flying around to the other men. It flashed before their eyes, and it was as if they had slightly lost interest in the young man and the witch. She saw one of the guards attempting to fight the lure of the light which slowly floated away from them. He was closest to them so she conjured another ball of fire and lobbed it on the man, which immediately began to consume him. |

The man ran about on fire, unlike his previous cohort, he ran back into the brush as the other two drew closer. Tekun immediatly rushed as fast as he could towards his adversaries. With one swipe of the blade, he lobbed a head off and gutted the other. The two fell and died where they had been. The remaining one stared in absolute horror, looking right into Tekun's eyes. "Demon! Demon!" He screamed alloud. "The Immortal Soldier still lives! That bounty is not worth dying for!" He paniked, dropped his weapon and fled in complete terror. Tekun wiped the blood from his blade and sheathed it. "Lucky us. There's usually bigger groups then this. Lucked out today." He gave a slight grin and turned to Scarlet. |

Scarlet's eyes widened in fright, and confusion. She was completely shocked, and thanked who ever was watching her from above about the whole situation. If she had so much as made a sound earlier, she would most definitely have been slaughtered like those bounty hunters, only one of them surviving a quick and merciless death. Normally she was all for death, confusion and fear, but what the last man had said frightened her for some odd reason. She inched away from the apparently not so young soldier. "So....you're...an immortal soldier?" she said, hoping it was a mistake, or perhaps some sort of charade, maybe they had all planned that together? |

Tekun said looking away. "I'd rather not have you try and sell me off and put yourself at risk. So, you know about me now. How about you tell me about yourself?" |

She crossed her arms stubbornly, though brief flashes of what had happened before reminded her of whom she was dealing with. What if he was crazy? What if this air of calmness was just a trick, a hoax, a lie? Would he snap at her in a second, bringing an end to her life? He wouldn't be so immortal if he was easy to kill. "Well" she said with a dragged on manner "I'm a witch, not immortal like you are...at least not yet. I do, witchy things, most of them not so nice" she glanced at him again "I'm not exactly what you'd call a good guy, which I guess you probably would know, seeing as I turned you into a toad and all that. I'm sorry about that by the way" she stared at her booted feet "Yeah, and thanks for the help with those thugs" she mumbled quickly. |

"Why are you so cruel to others?" Tekun questioned, ignoring the tone of her voice. It mattered little to him, he did not care if she believed him or not. His weapon was now sheathed and held in place at his side. He walked towards the zweihande and removed it from the ground and held on to it yet. He did not feel like dealing with the weight of the weapon yet. "You willing changed me back after my warning though and actually trusted me." |

Scarlet shrugged and leaned against a tree with a sigh. "That's the way the world is Mr. Immortal" she said plainly while looking at her nails "Be cruel to others, before they can be cruel to you. That's the way I live, and I've been fine all these years" She placed her broom out in front of herself and sat upon it while it floated, all this standing around, especially in high heel boots was not good for her feet. She adjusted her belt and her hat before answering the immortal soldier. "I don't even really know why I trusted you." she said looking up at the branches of the trees in an idle manner. "I suppose it's because you've got spunk" she nodded once, as if she were agreeing to herself. "Yeah, unlike all the other toads...who I've sold" she added quickly "You spoke up to me, even told me to treat you gently, even though you were just...a toad. That takes some guts right there" she said. Scarlet raised her other leg over to the other side of the broom "Anyways, it was nice chatting with you Mr. Immortal. I'm Scarlet by the way, you need a hex, give me a summoning. She revved up her broom which shook violently preparing to take off. Scarlet pulled her hat lower over her head, and leaned closer to the shaft. |

"You don't need to be like that though. I've seen the cruelty of men, I myself have been an embodiment of it for sometime." He said. "The name is Tekun, by the way." He began to strap the enormous weapon to his back, he felt there was nothing more to say then to watch the women take off. It had definently been interesting, to say the least. Tekun hoped that he'd neve have to be a toad again. |

Scarlet nodded once having heard what he had to say. She was used to many trying to lead her onto the "path of light". She had walked on its shiny paths many times posing as a white witch, it could never compare to her current lifestyle. No one could change that thought, rooted firmly within her head. "Well, it was nice talking to you Tekun" she said while the broom kicked up a gust of air. It flew up into the air quickly, shaking the branches violently, bringing down a torrent of leaves as it flew through the canopy. She waved below to Tekun. Nice guy, she thought. Now, who shall be my next victim? She chuckled mischievously to herself, flying away. |
