Mjor settled down his tankard, letting the dark liquid slosh around. Tonight was not a good night, he had come back from a job, ready to celebrate, have a few drinks, find some servant girl, and bring her around with sweet lies, fake smiles and false compliments. Alas, but none of them caught his fancy, what few there were. And he was not in the mood to find another tavern. He downed his second drink, and ordered another, leaning on the bar, exchanging small talk, talking about his latest mission, a simple bodyguard, escorting a young lady from one town to here... The employer did not know his mistake, but Mjor had reveled in her young naivety, he soft touch... It still made him shiver. If he were the type to settle down, he would have put her on his shortlist as to who with. But, he wasn't, and his list was rather different in nature. Boring of the bartender, a wizened old man with a scar on his jaw (not entirely fitting with the name on the tavern... Thought the mercenary), whose stories were interesting, but stale at the same time, Mjor took a seat, and looked into his fresh ale, wondering what made this happen. He had money, a free night, and he was alone. And this was Madrid, a town full of pretty faces for him to charm. Sometimes, things just didnt go as planned. |

Agnar walked into the bar and immediately, the whole entire area fell silent, people's lips moved, but no sound was produced. Some paniked immediately, other's remained calm and kept their composure. After thirty seconds, the old man with his staff made his way to the actual bar and took a seat next to Mjor, smiling the whole way there. After about another thirty seconds passed, the silence spell wore off. Agnar then spoke up. "Why this is in fact the most silent tavern i've evah beeeeeen in. Wassdamattah, you all mutes or somethin?" Agnar questioned in a rather serious non satiracle manner. "Anyways." He turned to the bartender. "I'd like ta ordah your strongest alcoholic beverage." |

As he was not speaking at the time, Mjor did not notice that he had been muted. However, he saw that everyone else had, and responded with mild amusement, panic was such a funny thing to watch, sometimes. Mjor worked out he was probably muted as well just as he noticed the newcomer... He left an impression, although not one which Mjor thought much of. Something was... There though, he could not say what it was, but he noticed something deeper, something the eye couldn't see. The newcomer sat down next to him, and slurred a question, and ordered a drink "Not your first, by the sound of it" Mjor smirked as the man ordered "Altough, I have to admit, I like your style. Drink until you drop" he took a large gulp of his own, and began to question whether this man caused the silence. It certainly fitted... But in reality, he did not really care, it was not exactly going to affect him. "So, my I ask what brings you to this fine and oh so quiet establishment?" inquired the glaive weilder, still noting that the place was a little... Too quiet, although some noise had returned. |

"Oh, I'm just going here and there, out and around, round and about, hither and fither, to and through, back and forth, up and down, in and out, hippity hoppity, over the river and through the wood, painting the town red!" Agnar said ecstaticly. "Oh, i'm sorry, I got carried away." The bartender came back with the drink and cautiously handed it to Agnar and starred at the strange old hermit as he left for the back room. "Skullsmasher drink. Next morning, your head feels like it's smashed." Agnar said and then began to slowly drink the beverage, as he did, a voice seemed to be coming from his mouth yet, perfectly audible, sounding exactly like Agnar, but with a slight latino accent. "And what brings you to such a place. You a regular here?" |

Mjor just raised his eyebrow at the mans strange manner of speech. He was an odd one, that was sure. Mjor never knew how to act around the odd ones, either it was best they died there and then, before the rot spread, or it was good to keep them around, to revel in the strangness, to see a perspective that was different, which was refreshing, everyone claimed to be a breath of fresh air, but that was almost always a lie, it took the ones who made no sense, like this guy, to actually make the world any different, to have any kind of new effect. He was also very interested to see what kind of devilry this man was using, to speak so... Differently, whilst drinking. It made it obvious it was him who silenced the bar earlier, which begged the question, why reveal that gift? Mjor could not think what could be gained from letting people know you could... Do something with noises. It would be like him showing people his glaive fighting techniques. If he was correct, this man used an unusual type of magic, just like Mjor used an unusual weapon, why diminish the advantage by letting people become familiar with them? "Me, a regular?" Mjor chuckled "My strange speaking friend, I am not a regular anywhere, and at the same time, I am a regular everywhere" he leaned back in his chair "The world is my home, the wind is my family, the soft sound of the morning, the symphony of the night, the smell of morning, the light of the sun, the beauty of the moon, they are my home" he took a swig "I don't believe in tying myself down like a dog, sticking to the same old places, the same old routines. I travel, I do what I can for money, and kiss the girls to make them cry... It is freedom." he sat up "Mjor Orjtarn, a mercanary man chasing after the delicate butterfly we call love, thats me... Of more interest, is who are you?" Mjor wondered aloud, aware he had let his mouth run a little. |

"Judeau Golia." Agnar said as after he removed the the alcoholic beverage and slammed it down on the counter. "Street performer." Agnar was lying, but nobody but he knew that. Rarely did he ever come into town, but when he did, it was always a party. Sadly, there was never any Vodka around. As Agnar opened his mouth to speak, a sparrow flew out of his beard, hovered over Mjor's head, darted around the bar and flew out through an open window. "Damn forest animals livin' in meh beard. They should know not ta do that. Such an incovenious ya know?" Agnar said as though Mjor knew exactly what he was talking about. Judging by what Mjor talked about, he was a hopeless flirt, traveling about. Odds are he knew nothing of animals. "Well anyway, I street perform, it's something to do. I enjoy it." |

There was no denying it, this man would prove to be most amusing, perhaps even making up for the otherwise dull bar (to his mind) "Well, a most amusing type of street performer you must be" Mjor commented, "For I wager I have noticed some of your tricks already... Although I would like to see more". It was at this point a small bird flew from the mans beard. Mjor just laughed, guessing this was one of his tricks. He had to say, he liked it, and was curious as to how it worked... He was right, there was more to this man than met the eye. In some ways, this was annoying, Mjor liked it when people were like him, simple, motivated by a few, obvious things, and not caring about the rest. This was the kind of man who hid things, whatever it was Judeau was not speaking the whole truth, or else he was withoholding something of vital importance. He had layers to him, many layers. Mjor had but two, the one people saw, and the one they didn't. And hell, even those two layers shared most of the same parts. There was... Something to this man. Something... Interesting. "So, you travel about a lot too. So we have something in common" Mjor reclined, watching the sparrow fly away... He did have to admit, he knew little of animals, but he was a bg fan of birds, the songs they sang, and above all, he loved their wings. To him, they spoke of freedom, pure, unadulterated freedom. Sure, other things had wings too, but not in the same way. There was a beauty to the small winged songbirds that few could deny or match. "The world is your stage, I guess? Place to place, do what you can for what money you can, and move on... Much like me indeed" At this point he went up to get another drink, he would have offered Judeau one, but he wasn't that interested, and the oddball certainly wasn't worth any money. He made sure to remind the barman that he was paying for nobody but himself. he had been tricked like that before, and now often used it himself... But not tonight. He returned and sat down, taking another swig. |

"I live in the woods." Agnar said. "Movin' all about now." He took another swig of the drink and downed it all. Surprisingly, Agnar did no feel even the slightest thrown off or intoxicated. "Now bout dat stage. World isn't meh stage boy. Everything is." Agnar said with a wide grin, if it could even be seen through his beard and started to form an image in his hand as he extended it. In his hand, materialized a spoon. "Do not try to bend the spoon. That's impossible." He cackled. "Hyuck, Hyuck, Hyuck. There is no spoon you see." He might have came off as intoxicated, but he wasn't. All just part of the act in his little show. |

"Well, I think my point remains valid none the less" Mjor grinned, downing another gulp of his drink "The fact is, nothing should be taken seriously" he stretched a little, and grabbed a cigarette from one of his pouches, which he slowly lit of a candle. He was struggling to work out whether this man was drunk or mad. He was also wondering if he actuallly cared. He decided he didn't, e was just along for the ride, however it may go. "But if there is no spoon, how can we talk of bending it? Even if its just a vision, some of it is real. Maybe the spoon is bent, and we just don't know it yet" Mjor philosphised, not willing to leave all the art of confusion to Judeau "In fact, if we can't bend it, why do we think of bending it? Bend the spoons that you want to bent and that can be bent, leave the rest" be breathed out smoke "And for anything in between... Too much effort. Nobody pays me to deal with spoons" |

"Only realize the truth. Then you will find it is only yourself that bends." Agnar said as the spoon he held bent and turned a dark vibrant purple. He gave a wide grin and chuckled. "And boom goes the dynamite." The spoon the exploded unleashing a loud echoing popping sound from where the explosion had been. Soon there was nothing left of the illussion. He turned to the bartender. "Nother drink please." He thought about this man's philosophy and couldn't tell if he was a fool or not. His philosophy on life bothered Agnar but truth be told he didn't care. "We bend the spoon simply because it is there to be bent." |

Mjor raised an eyebrow, showing his mild suprise when the spoon simply... Destroyed itself. Although, considering what he had guessed, as well as the whole 'there is no spoon' thing, it seemed safe to assume that the spoon was a mere vision. Mjor tensed a little. If this man could make people see things, he had to be on his guard, who knows what his objectives could be, he could be aiming to attack someone, which Mjor didn't care about, or be aiming to attack him, in which case he did not care. It could be safe to assume everything this man said was a lie, was his name and appearance even what he thought? "We bend the spoon simply because we have to bend something, and the spoon is there... And if we can't bend the spoon, we just make people think we can" Mjor theorised, his actual meaning obscured. "Or we find something else to bend" he added, which had much less of a hidden meaning, and more of a jovial undertone. "Everyone is searching for something, they loose the joy of the moment" |

"Ahhhh you catch on quick." Agnar said nodding head. "Good, you get it now. Live in the moment, but don't forget why you bend that spoon. Everything has meaning, even if it means we do it because we can." The bartender came back with the drink, with a look of confusion on his face. Deep down he thought about how this man was going to pay for all this alcohol, he looked like he had been living in the woods for years on end. Reluctently, he handed him the drink. Agnar took it and the formed and image of the known world in his hand., a rotating globe of some sort all in black and white. "Look at it. And tell me what you see?" |

Gabriel itched his head, staring at the tavern ahead of him. He took a tiny step, then another, and slowly made his way to the door. Lots of people inside... He thought to himself, not wanting to lose himself in the crowd. "Come on, we haven't eaten..." Whispered a voice next to his ear. He groaned and stepped it. The building was eerily silent, but Gabriel couldn't have been bothered to notice. He inched towards the bartender, his hand fluttering into his robe. He slowly pulled out a tiny, iron flask with what looked like bite marks all around the edges. He sat himself down next to a man with a ridiculous beard and stuttered a request to the bartender. |

Mjor smiled at the bartender as he came back. He had met him many times over the years, although not for a while until now. It was this loose bond between them which made him wonder how Judeau was going to pay for his drinks... He certainly did not have much, and he had bought a lot... Mjor had bought less, and had just completed a big well paying job. He inhaled another lungful of smoke, and finished his final drink, setting the empty tankard down in front of him with a reassuirn clunk. "What do I see?" Mjor pondered "An image, an illusion... An illusion of everything thats up for grabs, if you reach for it, and an image of everything that will try and keep you down, if you let it". Another man sat down with them, and Mjor looked in wonder... From their speech he judged them as another weird one. Not that he could complain, really. Edited by Mjor, Aug 25 2009, 12:07 PM.

Gabriel nervously started chewing on the flask. There was nothing in it. He curled his legs up to his chest, and looked a bit ridiculous on the tiny chair. The bartender returned with a small drink, which Gabriel promptly picked up and laid in his lap, but didn't touch otherwise. His eyes darted around the room, looking for something to land on, and met Mjor's. "What... What?" He asked, his voice sounding indecisive, as if he didn't know whether or not to speak. He looked away quickly and suddenly reached out his hand to touch Agnar's beard. "You have something... In there..." He said lethargically. |

"Yes, it is nothing more then that." Agnar said. "Your views are interesting to say the least." Agnar the noticed a man sit next to him, an odd ball to say the least. He pointed out there was something in his long beard. Wether or not there actually was, it was time to have some fun. "Oh why yes. Yes I do der have something in my beard Youngin. Hyuck Hyuck hyuck." Agnar said as suddenly a giant lizard flew out of the beard, it looked simliar to a dragon, but much smaller. Following the lizard, a hippogryph and then following the hippogryph, a tiny man in an old fashioned suit, top hat and monocle, floating away via umbrella. Each traveled a total distance on 15 feet before vanishing. "My word, there really was something der in dat old beard of mine." |

Gabriel's eyes bulged and his lip quivered. "You... Uhm..." He hurriedly downed his drink, spilling most of it onto his chin, and again began chewing on the flask. "What's... Uhm," he muttered in between bites. "There's still... Stuff in there... Did that, how did that..." He pulled the flask away from his face and stared at Mjor, pain in his eyes, begging for a response. Lucifer, who was sitting behind Gabriel, snickered. "My, we're seeing things, aren't we?" |

Mjor just grinned, and breathed out smoke through his nose. He could see why the old man did it, it certainly was amusing to the reactions of others to this kind of thing. "This man can do a lot of things, its best you don't think too much" he advised this newcomer "Nothing good can come of it, trust me on that... Just... Enjoy the show". Mjor also noticed how far they travelled. He did not trust this man, and if they had to fight, it was good to know his range, so to speak. Unfortunatly, his glaive was not going to reach 15 metres... He would cross that when and if it came to it. |

"Hm...I dunno. Plenty of things live in dat old beard of mine. There be ancient civilizations in there I hear." Agnar snickered. "Old civilization within Judeau's beard." Agnar grabbed his beverage and drank it and looked back at Mjor. As he sipped it, he noticed it was watered down. Agnar didn't take too kindly to it either. Watering down a drink he was paying good money for. He scanned the room and noticed that everyone had either been staring or trying too hard to not look. "So...hm....Whatever is in meh beard may stay in meh beard because it is meh beard." |

Alyssa, with her hood pulled up over her head, walked down the beautiful roads of Madrid. Despite the hour, the city was quite active, minstrels played ballads, roadside vendors sold roasted chestnuts harvested from the expansive forest surrounding the city, Madrid had an aura that simply screamed life. It was then that she noticed the hanging sign in front of a tavern. "The Smiling Leprechaun Tavern" she read out loud. Glancing in through the window she saw that it appeared to be an interesting place. Shrugging to herself, she walked into the tavern. She took off her hood, pulling her brown hair over her right shoulder. She had expected rowdy people, with belching, drunken singing, and loud shouting. All things she had heard about men in taverns. This was quite the opposite, they were quiet and seemed slight perturbed by something, all of them inconspicuously staring at a small group of men who sat at the bar. Not wanting to tangle herself in whatever was going on at the bar, she sat herself down at one of the farther tables in a darkened corner, it had a candle on it for added light. A barmaid walked to her table, she also seemed to be tense, she balanced a trey stacked with empty tankards. "Do you have any white wine?" asked Alyssa politely while sitting perfectly erect in her chair. The barmaid stared at her with a quizzical look, almost on the verge of disgust. "How about Champagne?... Red Wine? Maybe a....beet root mix?" she felt rather flustered she didn't know what exactly to get, having never really been inside a tavern before. |

Mjor shook his head, this man was evidently either completely unrelated to reality, or purposely trying to weird. To be honest, neither was entirely fun for him "I am sure thats its a possibility" he humoured the drunk, crazy or worse old man "Some things just belong" he agreed "And some things don't" he leaned back in his chair, and glanced around "Never stay in one place, it gets..." His words were stopped as he saw a newcomer enter the tavern... She removed her hood and Mjor entered a kind of stunned silence... She was a pretty one, he had to admit, and was shocked to find he was still looking at her as she ordered a drink, his head snapped back around, although he kept her well within his vision. He shook his head a little, trying to clear her from his mind... He glanced over at her again, and took another swig of his drink. Even one as pretty as her would be the same as all others... He clenched his fist momenterily, before relaxing again, letting his mind clear slightly. He called across a waiter, and in hushed tones (so the others by him would not hear) told him to let the lady know he would buy her all her drinks tonight. He looked back to his group, and tried to gauge where the conversation had gone. As he took another drink he could not hide an expression that was half smirk and half scowl. Women. He loved them all deeply and dearly, and yet he hated them too. |

"What's wrong?" Agnar asked as Mjor stopped midsentence. He looked back at the sight, a brown haired women entering the tavern. Rather attractive, but far too young for Agnar. He looked back to Mjor as he was whispering something in one of the waiter's ears. He could not hear it at all. Too hushed, perhaps another spell idea was in order to fix this. "Well what's wrong? You nevah see a perrty women befer?" |

Alyssa eventually managed to get some white wine from one of the other waiters. It turned out that they did have the drink and that the other waitress couldn't understand her, something about not understanding human tongue. She shrugged it off for another waiter soon arrived to receive her order and gave her the wine she had asked for originally. It wasn't the highest qualities that she was used to but she didn't care, she considered it part of the adventure of life. While sipping her wine, staring into the depths of the glass, a waiter walked over to her table and lightly tapped her on the shoulder. She looked up at him, and he bent down to her eye level“The young man at the bar” he said nodding his head slightly in the general direction “Has graciously offered to buy all of your drinks tonight” Alyssa smiled cheerfully, what surprisingly luck. “How nice of him” she said cheerily “Umm…I would like to try some of that ale stuff” she said. The waiter nodded and walked away, leaving Alyssa by herself. She spied a look at the man whom the waiter had pointed to. The one sitting beside the old man that everyone still cautiously glanced at. She would thank him afterwards, she thought to herself, it would be the polite thing to do. The waiter soon arrived with the tankard of ale, it was much larger than she expected. She saw how everyone else guzzled it down; she knew she would most definitely not be able to do it like they did. She took a tentative sip, she tasted nothing. She then took a larger sip, her cheeks reddened and she coughed. It must have an acquired taste, she left the drink at the side and quickly ordered some red wine. The wine arrived soon after the waiter had left, she swirled it around and sipped it from a glass. It washed away some of the taste, thankfully. She got up from the secluded corner in which she sat, with wine in hand. She took a wide walk away from the crazy looking old man, and lightly tapped the man, who she hoped the waiter had nodded at. It would be rather embarrassing if it wasn’t. |

Mjor just watched behind the bar and waited. All was a matter of timing, really... He noticed that waiters tended to be walking across to her table a lot... Including the one who had been there when he looked around, he counted four... That girl was going to drink him dry at this rate... Part of him cursed her for that, whilst part of him applauded her. If she was going to get drunk, it made it easier for him, and quite possibly more fun as well. It was at this point the crazy fool Judeau asked him if he had never met a pretty woman before! Inwardly Mjor laughed, if he ever stayed in one place enough to get to know anyone, then there would be people queing up to tell the old freak that the opposite was true... Luckily, this was his first night in the town, so he was good. However, if the old man was to lie, so would Mjor "Never seen? Nah, I've SEEN a good many" he replied to Juduea, conviently not telling him quite HOW much he had seen of a good deal of pretty (and not so pretty sometimes...) women, athough he implied something quite opposite to the truth. It was at this point he felt a light tap at his shoulder. Bingo. He turned around, and put on a carefully practiced slightly shy look, the refusual to look her properly in the eyes. "Ah, hello" he said, looking just over her shoulder "I take it this about the drinks? I hope you don't mind... It's just... Well, you are very pretty, and I wanted to find a way to talk to you... I hope thats okay..." he fidgeted with his hands a little when he complimented her. And then, to finish it off, he flashed the easy smile he had used to melt so many hearts before. Make what you will of that, old codger, he thought to himself as he awaited her reply. Edited by Mjor, Sep 1 2009, 01:44 PM.

The man turned around, he was rather handsome, she admitted within herself. However from past experiences with men throughout her short travels, she had learned that common men, were not like the noblemen. Common men would openly backhand a woman while kissing another, even though you've seen that man shyly offer a dance around a warm fire a short moment ago. Noble men, could be just as cruel, however they were usually more secretive about it, unless they wished to shame their family's name, having slept with everyone aside from close family within the castle. It was wise for her not to judge this book by its cover, he may have seemed polite now, but what was he like behind closed doors, or in dark alleys? Alyssa stopped herself from further travelling down such dark roads. She had yet to experience such a man, so why worry? He explained his reason for buying the drinks, he seemed so shy and kind, so she sat down on one of the stools beside the man. He smiled at her, an almost enchanting quality she had never experienced before. She smiled back at him friendlily. "Thank you very much for your offer to buy my drinks" she said sweetly "You're a handsome man yourself. I'm surprised a woman has yet to call you her own." Alyssa took another sip of her wine, and placed it on the counter. The man seemed to be quite pleasant. Edited by Kiki, Sep 1 2009, 01:36 PM.
