Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

CLOTHES

COMPANIONS
  • Quinn - long-tailed weasel
    • Often found on Griffin's shoulders or nestled up inside his bag is his familiar, a long-tailed weasel named Quinn. Like others of his species, Quinn has a tawny brown coat and a creamy yellow underbelly, with a tail tipped in black. In the wintery months, his fur will change to a snowy white, but with his tail still possessing a black tip.

Being the source of his magic power, Quinn is very important to Griffin, and he would do just about anything to keep the weasel safe. This contradicts Quinn's nature, however, as the mustelid enjoys running off almost as much as he loves getting fed. Quinn's knack for wandering is a liability to Griffin, as the bond they share includes the sharing of pain; all harm inflicted to Quinn affects Griffin, as all harm inflicted to Griffin does Quinn.

MISCELLANEOUS
  • Mage's Staff

  • Travelling Bag
    • Always strapped over a shoulder across his chest is Griffin's travelling bag, a fairly large back made of tanned animal leather. In it are his spare clothes and Gullinbursti's tusk, as well as whatever other objects that don't fit in his pockets or within any of the various pouches carried around his waist. Also often found curled up inside is Griffin's familiar, Quinn, as every inch of his person is free range for the weasel, even in among his personal belongings.

  • Summoning Items
    • Unlike his normal spells, Griffin's summons require objects to call their subjects to the physical plane. Each is often a part or likeness of the creature in question, acting as an attachment for the creature's spirit during its stay. For this reason, Griffin carries parts of several animals on his person, in whatever places he finds most convenient, depending on the nature of the summon.

      • Raven Feathers (Hugin and Munin)
        • The most delicate of Griffin's collection, the raven feathers to summon Hugin and Munin are kept within an old dagger sheath strapped to his waist. He takes the most care to preserve these feathers, as it took a great deal of effort to find such perfect specimens in their specifically colored sheen; a green-tinted feather for Hugin, and a blue-tinted one for Munin. Without these, he could never call the birds to his side.

      • Squirrel Foot (Ratatoskr)
        • In the pocket of Griffin's coat is a small bottle containing the dried foot of a red squirrel. It is the most disturbing of his items, but one of good use. With the foot, he can call upon Ratatoskr, the golden-horned red squirrel. Having both messenger and partial fighting capabilities, it is kept where it is most convenient and within reach.

      • Boar's Tusk (Gullinbursti)
        • Kept at the bottom of his travelling bag is the tusk of an old boar, from which he may summon Gullinbursti, a boar with glowing bristles. Due to its redundance amidst Griffin's available spells, he has little use for the tusk, and as such keeps it in a place of little importance, as it demands neither necessity nor emergence.

      • Wolf Fang (Fenrir)
        • Worn around Griffin's neck is wolf's fang hanging on a single string, knotted at the opposite end where it slips beneath his hair. Looking to be little more than a necklace to show off a prized find, this is actually Griffin's greatest weapon, as from it he can summon Fenrir, the great wolf. For this reason, he keeps it around his neck where it is the most easily accessable, and most difficult to lose.
