Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

The sun was just beginning to set, and the wind was calm. The young seraph was wandering aimlessly, as if he was running from something. He let that woman kiss him earlier, the woman thief..he let her take him off of his destructive path. What was he thinking? He just knew..just knew that his father would come back to earth any minute and punish him again. Maybe he'd become fallen, did his father have the power to do that? One things was for sure, however..

He did not want to find out. If he ever became fallen, there'd be no point in even living, for him. So he had to pick..his friends, or himself. This mental war he waged within himself was eating him alive, and doing more damage to him than good. It would only be so long before he lost control, and he would have to pick one side or the other. A house divided cannot stand, and neither can a divided mind function properly.

This was the first time it happened, he felt his legs grow weak and he fell to his knees. He was sweating heavily, and hyperventilating. The more he thought about the path he would take, the more he felt himself losing control..this had to end soon.

This world is so different than my home; but wherever the light is with me is my home. If this is where is where the light has led me, this is where i shall be. The angel with no name strolled through the forest, her bare feet enjoying the soft grass carpet of this place. It was nicer than the harsh sands of the desert she had emerged from. The blue sky above, the birds, and smaller creatures scampering all about were all elements of life around her that made the angel feel the majesty of this forest.

Even far away from Chromiel, the light was with this place too. Somehow, having walked upon this world for a time, she seemed to grow a greater appreciation for the light and it's mercy. For the life she was blessed with as one of it's servants. She had both known the true face of evil, and been able to stay away from it. Amidst a strong brethren of followers, in a place where there was little hardship. Here in this world, those bound by this mortal coil were deceived, downtrodden, and lost. It had begun to wear on here in the villages of the desert, which is why she had come to the forest. To get away and reflect. To feel the peace within nature.

Here the sun and sky and peaceful quiet allowed her to calm, the sun shining on her face, despite her hood, made her smile. It soothed her heart, and so she chose to share the happiness with the world around her. With a voice that belonged in the chiors of heavens, she began to sing a peaceful, lyricless melody, passing through the trees of the fores on her stroll. The song drifting and weaving through the trees, the soothing sound being carried on the wind.

But when would this torment end? When would this mental anguish stop? Sure, when he was fighting, things seemed to be quite alright. But there would be times when he just did not want to fight anymore...but how could he stop if that is all that he knew? Others may see light as appreciation or as a soothing energy, but he always saw it as a power, a force..something that was always tied into anger..

..Tied into fighting. The voice of the another in the area seemed to travel into his ears. Yes, it was a very pleasant voice..maybe it was the voice of another female angel. However when he looked up, he saw that it was but a mere human. This must have been a trick..he must have been seeing things..his anger may have forced him to the brink of insanity. Or maybe it was a demon trying to play a trick on him!

He slowly rose onto his feet, even though he probably would have preferred to just stay on the ground. His eyes flashed at the woman..she had an alignment similar to his own, but not quite. There was something about her that was different from an ordinary human. And this did not help him with his confusion. He took a step toward her, his wings relaxed, showing he does not mean to be violent in any way. He cleared his throat before he spoke.

"...There is something familiar about you."

She noticed it just before the person moved to make himself known. She looked upon the other with a smile in her gray eyes. The looked the other creature over. His pale skin and white hair, and the many wings, gave a good impression that he was an angel. Though it was possible that the one she now looked upon was a cleverly disguised demon. She had yet to awaken any power to distinguish between the two beyond the obvious. However, something about his face did indeed seem familiar to her as well.

"Perhaps it is because you and I both do work in the name of light?" She offered to this six winged being. "Anything more than that, I am lost as well as you. However, I do not object to allowing us to get to know one another. All creatures are welcome in my presence." The nameless angel grew silent, a gentle grin upon her face as she looked into his sky blue eyes.

She gave a slight bow of apologies, explaining "I would offer you my name; but I do not have one to offer." She stood silently waiting for his answer to her polite introduction.

They both worked in the light, she claimed? This must have been true..the alignment scan was never wrong thus far, and her claim and alignment matched. She spoke very softly to him, and so her softness would be returned with Shien-Zen's more friendly side. He took a step toward her when she finished her sentence, and he allowed a small smile to reach his lips. One thing he could not agree on with her, though, is that they were lost in the same light..

As far as he was concerned, there was no way she could have had it worse. Between a wrathful father, and being angry at all times, Shien-Zen indeed had a tough life to live. Her presence seemed to ease his mind a little, it was almost an..angelic presence. She did not have a name to offer him, and this he did not understand quite well. Was she nameless at birth?

"You do not have a name? Well, I do..it is Shien-Zen." With that, he took a quick bow to her. "How do you work in the name of light...uhh.." He would have said her name, but she apparently did not have one.

The nameless angel chuckled softly and keeping her smile on the other heavenly being. "You may give me a name as you wish. I will answer to whatever you find appropriate, as long as it truly is." She paused letting him think that over before adding, "Shien-zen, your name is an interesting one, I am a child of the light. I know I don't look it, but it is the truth. I heal the wounded and sick, protect those who need it, lend the troubled an ear, and offer advice to those who seek the wisdom of the light, and know not how to find it themselves."

It was true this was how she served the Light now. This was her place in the world, and she did what she could to share the grace of the Light with all of this material plane. As she spoke this, something about the eyes of the one before her, seemed to whisper to the angel. She felt that perhaps even this fellow being of Light might be in need of what she had to offer as well. After all, he did look rather young to be about this plane if he truly was an angel like herself. Continuing her warm smile she asked, "Child, is there, perhaps, something I may help you with?"

She would answer to a proper name, but he did not have quite the name to describe her accurately. He did not want to give her a name that would be too high, and at the same time, he did not want to give her a name that was too low. He never was good at naming other people, and this is the first..nameless person he ever came across. She spoke of what her supposed purpose was, and a person like her is someone he needed right about now.

But would she be able to handle the weight of what he was about to tell her? He sure did not think she would, but there was something about her voice that..made him want to tell her. It was not quite the voice that commanded fear, but more like the one that commanded respect, from him. His eyes closed for a moment, as he gathered within himself the best way to explain to her what exactly was going on.

"Well, I am a seraph, as you can see. The gripe I am having is with..trying to figure out my purpose in life. My...father taught me that I am to only be angry, and that I am not allowed to have friends, and I am only to destroy evil. But, that cannot be the case, because I have other emotions and I even made a few friends!" His voice sounded uncalm, maybe a bit panicked. "I..I just do not know what to do." He looked at the ground, putting his hands on his waist.

The words that hit the angel's ears were like heavy stones that stabbed at her heart. She gasped sharply and broght one shackled hand to her chest. "Child! Dear child! I mean not to insult your father; but I tell you, what he has taught you is wholly false. Particularly if you are as you appear to be. You are an angel are you not?" The nameless one's gray, tired, eyes were filled with concern and sorrow for the poor creature before her. "You poor child, no wonder you are so distraught within. Anger is not the path of light, it is something that should only be called upon in true times of righteous fury against the dark. Beyond that it is no way to lead ones life, to do such, is more akin to the ways of darkness." She was quick to add to this statement before she worried the creature. "Do not fret though, I have had to give similar advice to another angel long before. As warriors of light, it is easy to loose sight of how we are to live outside of battle, for sake of greater strength." She paused giving him a concerned look of sympathy. "Child, friends and those who love you are important. Without others to help you and hold you up, support and care, the fight against darkness would eventually consume you, surely on such a road you would fall from grace and become a violent beast just like those you are to fight against." her look of sorrow still gazed into his pained eyes as she hoped her words might help his troubled soul. At the least she waited for them to sink in.

Her words were sharp, while her voice was soft and soothing, at the same time, they were bold and somewhat demanding. She referred to him as child..as if he were her own. As she spoke he looked up to her, into her weak gray eyes with his light blue ones. It was true, anger was not the path of the light..maybe..his father was leading him into darkness? But he was an angel too! ..Things just did not make sense. But if anything made sense, it's what she was saying.

Especially about eventually becoming the beasts he fights to destroy. Her knowledge proved to extend even farther than he expected, when she talked about giving advice to a previous angel, and then later talked about how he, if he continued on his wrathful path, fall from grace. The pain was leaving his eyes, and now it was back to being confused again.

Sure she may not be an angel, but she sure did speak like one..and also gave advice to a previous angel before. However, Shien-Zen was not too trusting of that just yet. Surely if there was an angel similar to himself who she spoke with, then he would have at least heard of that angel or something. So he cleared his throat, preparing to speak. Her knowledge alone gained his respect, so he tried to speak as nicely as possible when he asked this next question.

"..Who..is the angel that you had to give advice to? Did he or she have a name?"

Yes, she knew very well the name of the one whom she had told that advice. It was a name from her past. From her earliest days as a Valkyrie of Chromiel. It was a name from her past filled with many memories. For every positive memory of that name, there was bad one paired beside it. Warning signs and regrets paved his path. Still, she had been asked a question and she would give a truthful answer. "He was Tatsu-zen. In his time a young angel with visions of greatness beyond him. I am uncertain if he heeded my words..." A look of distant sadness still reflected in her eyes as she said this. Remembering the man whom she was certain, would have fallen by now.

"But his story doesn't not need to be your story, Shien. You still have a chance to be your own angel. Perhaps by your deeds, you can even show your father the proper way, through your actions." Reaching out to the younger heavenly being, she rested a hand on his cheek looking into his eyes to give him hope for his future. Her belief in his ability to change, having only just met him, shining through. She felt this way towards any person she met of any species. She believed all had the capacity for change.

He was..Tatsu-Zen? The angel she spoke to was his very own father?! That took him by great suprise, it was indeed a curve ball of sorts. And he was not quite sure how to handle it, it was so unexpected. This woman was the real deal, if that was the case. She knew of Tatsu-Zen..just the fact that she knew his name, meant at one point she was in the heavens up above. The rest of the words seem to fade out as she said them, he was still stuck on the fact that she knew his father.

She touched his face, but after a few seconds he took a step back from her. He felt his eyes watering up a little, but he closed them, rubbing them with the backs of his hands. He whipped his arms downward, and he pointed to her with one of his hands. He was not going to take 'nameless angel' for an answer anymore, there was just simply..more to it than that. Something she was hiding from him, or perhaps she did not know it yet. But..but he had a feeling about it.

"...The one you spoke to before..Tatsu-Zen. He is my father. He is the reason I am the way I am..." His hand began to tremble, he almost wanted to drop his arm. But he kept it up, he felt the need to point for some reason. "So, if you knew him that long ago, then who are YOU?!"

The angel looked at the boy, realizing why he seemed familiar. He did resemble his father in some ways. Though, what she heard was troubling news that Tatsu-zen still lived in a heaven plane, but had not changed his ways. This meant he was sill there to cause confusion and trouble with his twisted ways. She would rather see him corrected and restored; but if necessary she thought he would have at least finished falling by now rather than spreading his improper methods.

"You poor child..." She whispered of him. She could not imagine the terrible upbringing that must have ensued at the hands of that man. Atleast it was not a fate he shared alone. Perhaps a mother to ease his pain? Though what kind of angel would have willingly gone to the arms of that violent seraph, she had no idea. Except me, of course... I had fallen for him once...and we too had a son who must have shared a similar fate as this child...The council never told me if they gave him to his father, or to another... I have always prayed the latter was true, before i tried to force the entire incident from my mind...

The younger angel had demands of her, but they were demands she could only uphold so far. "Child, I am an angel from a different plane. One your father was not permitted to enter, for he was not considered pure, or strong enough. I would grant your request for my name if I could; but truly I can not. Not even your Father would be able to speak it. It has been sealed from all knowledge to help restrain me into this mortal body. Still child, my wisdom is sound, you do not have to become the violent creature your father is. There is greater strength, and a fuller life, in ways different from his methods. You can trust me Shien...let me show you." With these soothing words, as she focused looked into his eyes with her own tired grays, she focused on the aura the light had blessed her with. Spreading the feeling of calm, soothing peace making it stronger to show the boy she truly was a holy creature and not some tainted fallen angel.

Well that was not the case, it was obvious that Tatsu was still having his way..and his son is now following in his own footsteps. His arm that pointed at her dropped as he began to think...tf Tatsu would eventually become fallen, then Shien-Zen would also if he didn't change his ways. So..now Shien-Zen had the choice of either becoming fallen from the destructive path that he has been set on, or either die from not following that destructive path. It was a lose-lose situation, there was nothing good that could come out of this..and it made him angry. His fists clenched at his side, again with the anger..again with the hate.

His teeth grinded against each other and his muscles tensed up as he breathed faster and faster. He was ready to burst. She mentioned that his father was not pure or strong enough to enter the same plane as her. Then how truly powerful is she? Is she..stronger than both him and his father? Regardless, a portion of her power would be revealed as the aura filled the immediate area. The anger and hate suddenly disappeared, and he was calmed once again..by her angelic power. His hand relaxed, and he looked at her..

"...You are an angel..like me."

She could see the rage building in him, apparent in his body language, and she knew for certain this was the son of Tatsu-zen. That kind of sudden temper at a her claims, it was obvious this was no Chromiel angel's work, and no true devout of light would be so easy to anger. Only he spread the belief that it was appropriate for one to act such as he did.

Still, she saw her influence come over him and smiled warmly at his words. "Yes, Shien, I am a child of the light. I may not seem like one; but I am. You can trust advice, I will not lead you to ruin. Unlike your father, and your mother, I am from a different Plane of the light, as i have told you. I met your father, in my younger days, first starting my occupation within the forces of my plane. Much has changed since those days; but it seems much still needs to change after all this time. However, at present, I am not fit to change them." She did not like to admit that; but pride was the only reason not too, and pride like that was not befitting of an angel.

She grew silent, thinking of how she could possibly advise this one, to perhaps spare him from the wrath of his father, and possibly allow a voice to Reach Tatsu-zen, attempting to remind him of the proper way. An idea came to her and so she asked this question "Shien, tell me, what does your mother say of your father's ways? Does she agree with them? Or is there a chance that through her you can show him his error?"

Yes, it was true. In all of his years of living, he never met another angel who was as..angry as Tatsu, nor as wrathful. In fact, Tatsu was the only angel he knew who was that violent and that filled with rage. However, she was different. In fact, he would go as far as to think of her as the exact polar opposite of his father. She was what an angel should be like..she displayed that she cared about Shien-Zen's situation, she showed that she truly did walk in the light.

His father just..seemed so un-angelic now. Maybe his father meant it for good reason, or maybe his motives just were not clear yet. Either way..there was a sign of hope at the end of the tunnel, that maybe, just maybe his father's teachings were incorrect. But if that were the case..that meant that everything that he knew was wrong, and what he was naturally feeling was more correct!

She asked him about his mother, and the features on his face softened. His eyes made contact with the ground below him as he made a sigh, "Tatsu always told me..that my mother was weak, and that I would never want to meet her anyway. He told me that..she was not what an angelic being is supposed to be, and that is the reason why they separated. Cause..she was not pure like he claims to be."

The angel with no name, was now without words. Her eyes widened in shock and she took a step back to look at this boy again as if seeing him for the first time. His words had sunk into her like knives. He...had no mother... which could only mean... this was her son.

Not the child she had been cast out of Chromiel for, but the son she had sacrificed to continue to be a Valkyrie. This is what had became of him, tortured, misguided, and confused by her lost ex-love. She had prayed he had been spared that fate; but it was not so. Still, here he was, just in time it seemed, for her to come to him when he needed his mother the most. The light truly did work in mysterious ways.

"Shien... I don't know how I didn't see it." Shien had been an angel of Chromiel called "the Angel of Wrath" he was an idol to Tatsu and the basis behind his warped philosophy. "Shien... poor poor child." tears began to well in here eyes and her heart felt like it was breaking for her son. "I am so sorry, for so many things..." She could not speak more, over come with tears, she fell to her knees weeping.

He watched her take a step back in surprise. When she did that he raised an eyebrow at her, asking himself what was going on. Her aura was getting weaker for some reason, his wings relaxed when she told him she did not see what. He was a little more confused now, having no idea what she was talking about. How was she to know that he never knew his mother before she asked.

She apologized to him, and then fell to her knees. He rushed forward to her, kneeling at her side as she wept, resting his hands on her shoulders. He wanted to hug her almost, seeing such another holy creature cry made him a tad upset on the inside. Not the angry type of upset, but the type of sadness. He closed his eyes briefly, and reopened them, trying to understand why she was so sad.

"Why..why do you weep? Did I say something wrong?" His voice was soft, he was trying his best to make her stop crying.

When he placed his arms on her shoulders and moved closer, the angel only felt worse for the compassion he was unknowingly extending to one who did not deserve it. "Child, forgive me." SHe repeated looking up with her tear stricken gray eyes. "You have said nothing wrong; I weep for I know now that I am, in part, responsible for the plight you face." Her body shook as she continued to sob. Weakly she placed a hand on his cheek, tears flowing from her eyes and down her face she expected to see the anger of his father flare up in his eyes upon hearing what she would have to tell him. "Shien, your mother was a weak being at the time she gave you up." Once more a sob broke her speech before she could collect herself. "She was weak and made a quick decision believing it to be a necessary sacrifice for the light... She did not know... she did not know you would be given to your father to raise; for she thought that her superiors would see the same flaws in him that she did and know that would not be in the best interest of the child. " She paused and fought another sob from bursting forth, knowing that he deserved the right to know the truth before any more sympathy be spared on the one who sentenced him to life with his father. Tears streamed from her eyes an she bowed her hooded head in shame as the final words weakly tumbled from her lips in almost a whisper. "Shien...forgive me...Shien...I am your mother." with those words, despite the fear and shame at the harm she had done him, once they were spoken her tears streaming eyes looked up into his sky blue ones to face whatever his reaction might be.

The angel looked him in his eyes, and let him know that he wasn't in the wrong. He noticed her body was shaking mildly, she was really breaking down. What kind of angel was he? He couldn't even make another angel feel better about herself, even though he did nothing to make her feel bad. He tucked his tears, however. They couldn't both be emotionally weak, one of them had to be strong for the other. As she explained to him what exactly his mother did, he then understood..why he is the way he is.

In essence, at least to him, it was not his mother's fault that he was like this. If Tatsu wasn't such a horrible angel, then he could have turned out less harsh than he was, and maybe..more angelic. When she told him she was his mother, he let out a gasp of surprise. ..This..angel..was his mother. He stumbled backward from her, falling to the floor, reaching up for him. It made so much sense..she was not lying to him. He could just feel it..for the first time, a mother and son connection. He reached out for her with one hand, and made his way back to her, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"..Tell me..what happened to you? Where have you been, mother?" His face was drenched with the tears that ran like streams out of his eyes. "I..I want to know everything."

Tatsu-Zen decided that it had been long enough. It was time to check up on Shien once more. Now, the seraph was flying to see if that miserable son of his had finally grown a spine. When he finally found Shien... "Hmph." he said. The weak and miserable fool was crying, and appeared to be trying to comfort someone.

Tatsu lowered himself closer to the ground... And then deliberately dropped, with a thud that would probably startle Shien. Then, his voice boomed, "What do you think you are doing?! Are you crying?!" His face was contorted with both disgust and rage. Shien had disobeyed him again! "You are a failure!" he shouted, "I told you, you are only to feel anger, destroy! You are merely to pass judgement on the worms that inhabit this world, not pity them!"

Tatsu then said, with only pure scorn and disgust in his voice. "I suppose it can't be helped. Once a weakling, always a weakling! You'll never be anything but a miserable, pathetic failure!" Shien was not worthy of the duty of cleansing this world. At this rate, perhaps Tatsu would have to do it himself...

The nameless angel was without words in that moment. Her son held no scorn for her, he was a greater man than she had given him credit. He put his hands on her shoulders and asked questions as tears flowed further from her cheeks. In that moment she wanted to embrace the son she had sacrificed for the work of the light, and explain everything; but the time for this was not to be in that moment.

When she lifted her eyes to look into his again, she felt it. The oppressive force of another creature not of this world. His words boomed out to chastise the weakness he perceived, and the voice from her past resounded within her ears. The angel listened to every word feeling the sadness and pity she had for Tatsu-zen. He truly was lost, and had learned nothing in all these long years.

No more... It was time to make up for all the ages past. All the years her son had had to suffer beneath this warped father, were to end now. She would not let his incorrect beliefs confuse her child any longer. Pressing a gentle hand over the lips of her son to silence him, she stroked his cheek taking a loving look into his eyes before turning to face Tatsu-zen and rising to her feet.

The nameless one pulled back her hood to fully display her face that seemed every bit to belong to a feeble mortal. "Tatsu-zen!" she snapped in a tone both cold and commanding, like a mother scolding a child. "I am ashamed to see you have yet to change in all these years. Despite guidance you were given from so many, you still believe that anger and condemnation are the only ways of the light!? It is you who is the failure Tatsu-zen."

Her gray eyes locked with the eyes of the angel and her aura of peace continued about the area, announcing to all who felt it that she was more than what she appeared. Silently, she waited for recognition to enter his eyes.
