Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

Chase stared at the door, she had made it across that stupid bridge thing, and here she stood, ready to enter the ball, thing. She could hear music playing inside and she took a deep breath. A long time ago she wouldn't have even THOUGHT of going to a dance surrounded by humans, but now that she looked like one. Well she thought she'd take the opportunity to meet some people. She had managed to get hold of a nice gown with a white cape down the back. She glanced around for a moment and then stepped into the room.

Gasping slightly she walked in and heard the door shut behind her. It was crowded, loud, with lots of people dancing formally in the middle of the room. Men and women alike were standing around the edges looking at each other as though looking for a date. Chase rubbed her shoulder and slowly walked in, taking her place against a wall, slowly falling into a chair. She was just happy to have survived getting INTO the room, now she had to survive the evening.

Chase had used to be a Faun, but she had found out she was a shape shifter and now she couldn't bring herself to go Faun again, she had eaten meat, been kicked out of her valley, and she knew she didn't belong there anymore, so she stayed human. A human with short brown hair, and was much to skinny and pale to be healthy, but she had a very beautiful frame, and her hair was pulled back into a bun with a braid around her head.

Glancing around she messed with her white cape silently waiting for something to happen. Women were being pulled off the walls like crazy, and it was only a matter of time before someone caught site of her. When that happened, she would have to explain that she didn't know how to dance, simply because she didn't know human traditions yet.

It was impossible, it couldn't be done! There was no way in all the planes, he was going to be able to cross that bridge. but i HAVE to he mentally whined to himself. Tzel did not want to make the entire terrifying voyage all come to nothing simply because he could not cross a stinking bridge. He had already preformed for days to get the money to ride out here, then forced himself to climb aboard one of the most dreadful and dangerous modes of transit, a ship, to cross the wretched sea. Tzel had spent the entirety of the trip blind folded, gagged, and tied to the mast for his own safety (though not of his own volition). That disturbing ordeal behind him, the kitsune was ready for the sights of his first ball. However that was when the cruel cruel univers had played it's final joke.

Some twisted individual had the lack of sanity required to hold the ball on a building actually ON the dreadful sea! What's more, a building to which the only access was a glass walkway barely inches above the water! What evil mastermind would construct such a horror!?

Come on, its just one bridge, its not even wet...but damn the sea! It will get me the second i get on that glass sheet. Tzel looked longingly at the building on the other side, when he noticed a single figure standing outside. A woman with brown hair styled in an intriguing fashion Tzel couldn't remember weather or not he had seen before. Tzel knew, the only way to get closer to the pretty figure he had just seen vanish inside, was to make it into the building. Pacing in frustration, his tails flicking behind him in aggravation, Tzel glared at the structure.

He would not be turned back, not now after putting himself through the hell that existed to get him this far! Knowing there was only one way to get inside, Tzel aimed himself as straight as he could, folded one arm over his eyes and held the other arm straight out in front of him.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" the kitsune cried out as he ran blindly across the length of the glass walkway. At his full out run, it did not take long. However, now across, Tzel was still screaming and running straight ahead, unaware that he had crossed.

He bolted straight past those standing at teh doors still hollering all the way. Finally, at the top step of the entry stairwell, his foot snagged on a rug and Tzel went hurtling through the air, down the staircase and sliding across the dance floor. He slowed to a stop in the middle of the room and everyone stared at the odd creature in black pants and an open vest, as he looked dizzily up at the ceiling above him.

Tzel's vision slowly came into focus and, upon realizing what had happened, his face turned scarlet. His tails moved to hide his face and he climbed up to his feet, scampering to the edges of the room, wishing he could go die in a dark corner.

Chase looked surprised when a boy made a rather.. spectacular entrance shortly after she had sat down. He ran into the room screaming at the top of his lungs, tripped, fell down the stairs and slid across the dance floor. She stood up quickly watching as he ran straight for her. "Hey are you ok?" She asked gently rushing to him. She checked him over for any wounds cuts or bruises. "That was some fall you had there!" She said gently touching his arm. "Hey calm down, I think you got a cut on you're arm." She said holding onto his elbow gently and looking for the cut.

She sighed seeing the cut. "It's not deep but it'll need bandaged." She said looking at him carefully, her bright green eyes staring into his. "Oh, I'm sorry how rude of me." She said backing away and curtsying to him. "I'm Chastity Moor, but everyone calls me Chase." She said bowing her head to him hoping he wasn't offended by her rude behavior. She bowed her head to him as though waiting his permission to stand up properly. She smiled at him and then looked up winking.

"So what made you come in screaming and running and falling?" She asked standing up straight adjusting her cape as she asked a passing waiter to get some bandages. He simply nodded and ran off to fetch some. She smiled at him again happily. She looked amazingly innocent for one who seemed to be around 18. But also a bit hurt, much to skinny for the dress she wore, and she was very pale. She looked at him for a long moment before blinking slowly and bowing her head to him. "May I have the pleasure of knowing the name of the man who I am helping?" She asked giggling slightly

Tzel hadn't realized which way he was running, he had just chosen a direction and fled. When a voice caught his ears and the touch of another living being met with his arm, he turned quickly to see who was trying to throw him back to his pit of embarrassment. Instead of seeing a malicious being, he froze, and grew more scarlet than before. It was none other than the pretty maiden he had seen outside. The one for whom he had crossed that forsaken bridge.

Now unable to move or speak, he simply stared in wonder as such a woman would pay him any mind. She seemed different from the snickering masses. She wasn't laughing at all; but rather looking him over to see if he was hurt. Something about her felt different. He couldn't put his finger on it but she was unlike anyone in this room, and it wasn't just because she was so incredibly beautiful.

She spoke to him, and Tzel thought it was the most beautiful voice he ever heard. He could not respond, all he could do was stare back at her with his mouth half open and his tails still half hiding him. Tzel's hazel eyes were fixated on the green ones that looked back at him. They were so entrapping he was fairly certain he could stare at them forever. When she sent for bandages to help him, Tzel suddenly felt that facing the ocean was entirely worth it if even for this passing moment.

Tzel then realized she had asked him his name and he had simply been staring at her eyes in silence for several seconds. "M-m-m-my name's Tzel." he stated nervously before giving a tremendously deep bow that to all watching it looked quite silly. His tails were still hiding the majority of his crimson face as he continued to speak, realizing he had been asked other questions. "I-it's the blasted ocean...t'aint right to invite someone to a party and not tell them its on the foul ocean. Bout near died running across that madman's delight they call a bridge into this place." Tzel realized he was complaining about this party and this woman might very well be a host. She seemed to thin and too young to be in charge of such an event, and the fact that she was talking to him despite her splendid beauty, clearly countered that fact, but it did not mean she was not related to someone who had decided to host this ball. Once more the kitsune felt his face growing redder than one thought possible.

"Sorry... just a bit shaken...you're very kind."and the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. His mind finished the sentence his mouth had been too afraid to. Silently he stared shuffling his feet unaware of what to do or say next, still feeling completely foolish.

Chase giggled when he blushed and stammered. "Yeah, I was rather afraid of the bridge myself, I could have sworn I was going to fall." She giggled pushing the white cape out of her way as she smiled at him. "I don't know why they made it so hard to get here, but once you're here it really is nice though." She said smiling at him, flashing white straight teeth. For some reason he was growing redder and she was sure her own cheeks were too, just because he was blushing made her blush.

Smiling at him she blushed harder when she complimented him. "Well it doesn't seem like anyone else here really cared, and you ran so close to me I was afraid you were hurt." She said smiling at him staring into his really pretty hazel eyes. She was happy she had someone to talk to though, she felt so awkward standing by herself in a room full of dancing people. Not to mention she couldn't dance and had come here for reasons unknown to her.

"So where are you from?" She asked rocking onto her toes and back onto her heels folding her hands behind her back and looking around the room waiting for the bandage for him. She smiled at him and then shrugged her shoulder absentmindedly trying to think of where she would say she was from if he asked her. She would just say Madrid because that was in the forest, and she had originally come from the forest. Well, partially. Mostly from a valley in the middle of the forest with a bunch of Fauns, but she wouldn't tell him that. He seemed to like this human form more then he would ever even look at her Faun form. She was getting that lately.

It seemed like when she was a Faun, her being so short and stuff made people view her more as a child then as a grown woman. But now that she looked human and looked like a woman, well, an older teenager anyway, she was getting more looks from..males. It confused her, what did they want? Sure her mother and father would kiss and stuff like that, and she knew where babies came from, but she had never heard of Lust before. Or wanting something but not wanting to keep it forever, and it confused her these looks she was given.

She smiled though and pushed a loose strand of hair out of her face. "It's kinda hot in here isn't it?" She asked glancing around and then smiling as a waiter brought back the bandage. "Thank you so much." she said smiling at him and he simply nodded and walked away. Turning back to Tzel she smiled. "Here we go." She said holding it up and taking a hold of his hand, the loose strand falling in her face again. She pulled his arm towards her and looked at the cut. Blowing on it softly she grabbed the gauze and wrapped it around his elbow.

Tearing the piece off she stuck it on and tucked it in tight so that it could stop bleeding. "There we go all better." She said letting go of his hand and rolling up the gauze again. Smiling she turned her green eyes back onto his Hazel. "I hope it's not to tight." She said looking a little worriedly at his arm.

Tzel felt her warm, soft hands on his arm. He never really thought about it; but people didn't really touch him all that often, with the exception of fighting bare handed, or shoving ones way through a crowd, it was a rather rare occurrence. Tzel had to admit, he was rather fond of it. What's more the attention was nice. Feeling one individual talk and speak to him, and actually be concerned if he was harmed was something rather rare for his particular personage. What's more, his last few encounters with people of any species, had all been with males. Female attention was something that perpetually evaded Tzel, though he was not really the kind bold enough to chase after it.

Tzel looked into her eyes as she spoke to him, he realized she was saying words; but for the life of him he could not focus on what they were. They had meaning and although he understood she was asking questions, they did not seem to be of importance as he looked at her face.

The pale skin of her face was tinted pink at her cheeks as if she too were blushing, though Tzel could not imagine why. her white teeth stood out against her thin, light red lips. Her long dark lashes framed her dazzling eyes perfectly, and as he stared, unable to speak for fear of scaring her away, he noticed a lock of hair fall in the way. She brushed it aside before moving closer to his arm, her gentle breath caressing his skin for a moment before she tenderly wrapped his wound. Tzel felt his face grow hotter, she asked him how he felt, and looked worriedly at his arm once more, causing a lock of her brown hair to fall in the way again. As his gold rimmed hazel eyes looked into hers he simply murmured, "It's fine." Then, without thinking, he reached up and brushed the lock of hair back behind her ere,the tips of his fingers accidentally brushing her cheek as he did so. Although it was an accident that left him pink in the face, Tzel inwardly admitted he enjoyed the feeling. "S-sorry..." he murmured looking into her eyes still. "You are very pretty." he added. Yes the statement felt awkward; but Tzel was not sure what else to say, it was the only thought in his mind at the moment and he felt it needed to be said.

Chase smiled and saw his blush deepen, which made her blush deepen. Her cheeks now lightly red, then he reached out and brushed that strand of hair out of her eyes, brushing her cheek as he did so. She felt her cheeks burn bright red as she looked at him. He was apologizing? "Don't worry about it." She said smiling at him as her blush leveled out at a soft red. "Stupid hair falls into my face all the.." She was cut off though when he said she was very pretty.

So she was right! Guys did notice her more as a human, they thought she was.. pretty? She blushed scarlet and looked down glancing up at him through her eyelashes. "Thank you." She said crossing her hands in front of her and looked down embarrassed. "I think you're very handsome, I really like you're tails." She said smiling at him softly blushing again and looking down at her feet. She grinned and turned her attention to the dancing.

People weren't even paying attention to them anymore and she was happy for that. Knowing that his embarrassment wouldn't be continued to be advertised. She turned to him smiling. "Well, it seems you don't have to worry about people laughing at you anymore." She said smiling happily at him, her cheeks still scarlet, but slowly returning to the normal pale shade they normally were. She grinned at him again. "So you didn't answer my question." She said smiling at him. "Where are you from?" She repeated happy that he hadn't complained that the bandage was to tight.

She smiled at him and kept her eyes on his. It was a habit of hers, keeping eye contact, she noticed not many people did, but she couldn't help it, her eyes were always attracted to someone else's, and his were even more attracting then normal. Seeing as they were an odd shade of hazel. She was used to either brown, blue, or green, not the beautiful hazel's that were Tzel's. She felt a blush creeping into her cheeks again and knew she must look silly, blushing over things she said in her head. But maybe that's why he was blushing so hard. Smiling she turned her attention back to the dancing causally.

Tzel had not expected to be complimented in return. He blushed back at her and when she complimented his tails, he unconsciously began to sway them a bit more. Grinning broadly he didn't even mind when she brought up his earlier embarrassment. While she watched the dancers, he never removed his gaze from her face, watching her profile as her blush faded back to pale. She was cute when she blushed too.

Once more came that question. That dreaded question people he met always seemed to want to know. Tzel got a sad feeling in his gut at the thought of lieing to this beautiful creature. So he decided to take an alternate route. "I've been to many places, all over the place. I'm a wanderer." Although not a direct answer he hoped it was close enough that she would not inquire further. As beautiful as she was, beauty did not ensure that she wouldn't accidentally slip his real identity and whereabouts to someone who had connections to his home.

When she looked to him again, he flushed once more at her eyes. They were like two emeralds glinting in the light. She looked at the dancing one more and he tried to do the same but could not. It made him feel a little guilty. Tzel wanted to ask the lovely girl to dance with him, but not only was he afraid she would turn him down, he did not know how to dance. Still as the silence continued, he did not want to see her walk away leaving him alone to pine for her, so instead he spoke this time.

"S-so are you a princess? I-i only got to come here because a friend of mine is one of the musicians. They told me there would be noble types here and i was just curious. W-where are you from?" He asked, hoping he didn't sound too ridiculous. Tzel flushed and looked away from her again as his tail moved to block his face again.

Chase looked at him happily. "I know what you mean, traveling all over." She said smiling at him. Then he asked if she was a princess. She laughed a bit rudely and blushed. "No I'm not a princess, I don't really remember where I heard of the party, but it was just going around and I decided to come." She said smiling at him. "I'm just one of the party crashers I guess." She said looking around at the dancers wondering how many of them were of noble blood.

Chase smiled at him. "I think it would be weird being of noble blood, I mean, you're always being watched, and no one leave you alone." She smiled and looked at him carefully. "I mean, imagine never being left alone, and always being judged." She said shaking her head and leaning against a wall, pulling her cape out from behind her.

She looked at him and smiled flashing her pearly white teeth. "I mean it's cool to see them, and you realize that they are important people, but I would never want to be one of them." She shook her head and looked at them around her. "I don't know." She said looking back at him and pushed herself off of the wall. "I'm around.. everywhere I guess too." She said shrugging. "I mean, I was originally from around..Madrid." She said smiling slightly looking at the people again to hide her lie. "Around that forest, but I move around a lot now." She said softly and turned her gaze back on him.

She laughed and his face turned deep red. Tzel sulked a little, hiding behind his tails a little more. He knew he'd sounded silly; but at least she was laughing and still talking to him, that was what it had been for. He unhid himself a little and continued to listen.

She spoke of her perception of nobility, and it rang all too familiarly to him. That was what he was running away from. What he hid from, the life he hated. He was a runaway to keep his freedom and enjoy his life how he wanted to.

"Well we're in luck, party crashers are my favorite kind of guests. You know what's best about crashing a party? No one notices when you are gone." He grabbed her hand, not thinking about it, and tried to get her to follow him out of the room. "Lets go exploring!" Tzel wanted away from the dance floor. He felt guilty about not asking her to dance; but there was nothing to be done about it.

Chase smiled as he hid behind his tails again. He was so cute! She loved his tails, and wondered why she didn't get them. She probably could, she wasn't sure though. She'd have to try later when she was alone. Smiling she glanced around the room again listening to him talk, suddenly he grabbed her hand and pulled her. She giggled and let him pull her out of the room.

She wondered what else could possibly be in this place. She looked around her seeing him head towards a hallway she kept up with him, not removing her hand from his, simply because she didn't know that it could be considered awkward. She didn't even know the meaning of the word awkward, nor had she heard it, so she was perfectly content with holding onto his hand as they entered the hallway and stood looking around. No one noticed they were gone, no one had noticed they had arrived, so it wasn't like it was a bad thing.

Of course she had been wanting to dance a bit, but this was a lot more exciting then dancing. To think that they were crashing a party, and now they were exploring the place, it was all fun, and she was happy. Tzel was such a nice guy, and she was having fun with him. She looked down the hall for a second and then took the lead, pulling him down the hall and away from the dance floor, to where it was much quieter, and even the waiters weren't down this way. "Hmm, I wonder where this hall goes to." She said slowly stepping carefully still gripping Tzel's hand.

Tzel didn't feel her pull away from his hand, instead following him down the hall. The longer their hands held, the more he thought about it and hoped his palms didn't start sweating. He liked the feeling of her hand in his. It was soft and warm and delicate, her fingers not as long as his he felt powerful and protective as he lead the way. The trust given him to be allowed to continue to lead her through unknown terrain was something that made Tzel feel special.

Tzel felt his face turn pink again and tried to ignore it as she asked where he thought it lead. "Only one way to find out...but where do all these doors go?" Pausing in front of one he opened the door and looked inside. The room inside looked like the typical bedroom for nobility's guests. The bed looked large and comfy and Tzel absently wondered what it would be like to stay here. Still, something about the way the servants seemed to glide about, and the way into this place, made Tzel feel that perhaps this was not the best of ideas. "Boring, lets try the next one!" he said closing the door and running down the hall to the next door in the series to see the same thing within it. "Ok, maybe they are all bedrooms? Which one do you think we should try?" Turning to Chase he smiled and waited for her to decide, curious to see what here adventurous side would lead them to.

Chase followed after him silently her hand in his still as he opened a door and she peeked over his shoulder. A bedroom, how.. not exciting. She ran with him down the hallway and looked in the next room. Another bedroom? This place was no fun at all! She turned around looking over her shoulder before gripping his hand again and going farther down the dark hallway, the dance noises becoming more and more muffled as she walked. "Maybe there are stairs or something, I mean, it's not like it can go down or anything, well maybe it can.. I don't know." She said shaking her head and gripped his hand a little tighter as it started to get very dark.

"Do you have any light?" She asked glancing back at him and only being able to see his eyes shimmering in the dark. She flushed bright red and was happy that it was so dark. "Wow, it's so dark, I don't know if I've ever seen it this dark before in my life!" She said holding up her hand in front of her face and waving it, the only thing she noticed was the darkness over his eyes that she could just barely see.

Glancing around the hallway she held onto his hand tighter and moved a little closer, feeling a bit scared. Anything could be in that dark, she wouldn't know. Not unless she shifted into an animal that could see in the dark, but that might freak him out a bit to much. She had feeling it would, so she'd stay in the human form for now. She kept close though, her shoulder brushing his, both her hands gripping his as she slowly kept walking forward into the gloom. "Can you see anything?" She whispered in the still darkness. The music had long since faded and she wasn't even sure if they were even above the water anymore, it seemed to have tilted down as they walked.

Tzel continued down this hall feeling the dark grow. Alone, he would be terrified; but as she stepped closer to him, her hand still in his, he felt braver and stronger. Tzel's tails, which were swishing about confidentially, wrapped themselves around her, like one would place an arm over someones shoulder to comfort them. He was thankful for the darkness as well, his face turning scarlet at his own boldness.

She asked him for light and spoke of the darkness being the blackest she had ever seen. Tzel smiled and felt proud that he could be of service in this moment, while she gripped his hand tighter. THough, he hesitated, part of him felt like keeping the dark, just so he could continue to be her security. That didn't feel like the right thing to do though, so he finally spoke aloud. "One light, as you wish m'lady" Raising his free hand, a small ball of blue flames appeared hovering just above it. It gave off heat; but that was all part of the illusion he created.

The blue ball of fire created wavering light in a radius around them and they could see the dark stone walls of this hallway, turned tunnel. Ahead it looked lke the pathway might split off like an intersection. The possibilities of exploring such a place filled Tzel with wonder and excitement; but despite all the potential that lay ahead, his mind continued to thoughts of the girl at his side. "Do you want to keep going?" He asked, looking into her eyes with his and waiting. Not noticing that her cheeks appeared to be just as pink as his. The blueish firelight danced across their faces as he waited for her answer, still holding her hand protectively.

Chase's blush grew even darker when he wrapped his tails around her back. She smiled at him and moved a bit closer in the dark her cheeks bright red. She gasped softly as the light came up in his hand. "Wow." She said softly staring at the light. "That is so neat!" She said turning her head to look at him and grinned, her side touching his, his tails wrapped around her. She gripped his hand and looked down the passageway. He asked if she wanted to keep going.

Glancing down the hall for a second and then she turned her head and nodded. "Yeah! This is to much fun to pass up!" She giggled and then pulled on his hand going down to the split in the passageway. "Erm.. which way?" She asked staring at the split. "What if we get lost?" She said slowly moving closer to him and shivering slightly, but not from cold. "Do you think we're underwater?" She asked looking up at the ceiling half expecting to see water dripping from it.

Chase grinned slightly and looked at him wondering which way he wanted to go. She looked from one pathway to the other before looking back at Tzel and holding his hand tightly a bit from fear, more for comfort. She wasn't very fond of the dark, things hid in it. She had learned that after leaving her valley, things hid in the dark, picked you up and flew off with you. She shivered again and looked at Tzel keeping close to him.

Tzel would have ansered her many concerns right away; but he was all too focused on the fact that her side was against his. It turned his pink face, a deep scarlet, which looked purple in the blue light. Turning away, his face half shielded by his fourth tail, he fought his nerves to speak again. Only then did his mind register the fact that they might be under the ocean. That thought made the color drain from his face. Tzel had to fight not to shiver as well in terror. "N-no, I'm sure we are just under the castle. Yeah, definitely..." he trailed off and just before the thoughts of being within the chilly salt water of the vile sea, he felt her warm arm against his as she moved a little closer still. His fears were beat back and he smiled at her again. "Don't worry, I know how to keep us from getting lost. If we get all turned about, I've got a few tricks to find the way back." Looking at their options he spoke again. "I read a story once, about a labyrinth in a palace. TO escape the..." Tzel had been about to say monster; but something about the look in the eyes of his companion told him it would be best to skip that detail of the story and continue on. "Maze, the hero would walk along only going right at every turn, knowing he might have to go through the whole maze, eventually he'd find a way out. So, let's go right, just to be sure we don't get lost." Tzel decided cheerily. "Besides, I'm right handed, I'm more partial to that side." he giggled a little and began to lead the way. Still, remembering the look of fear hidden behind those green eyes, turned teal in the light of his fire, he thought there was more for him to do. "Hey...would you like a light of your own?" He asked trying to be considerate without letting on that he knew she was scared. He didn't want to offend Chase, she had been so nice to him, and he rather enjoyed holding her hand.

Chase smiled and listened to him talk about a story he had heard once. She liked it when he talked, just because then it didn't seem as quiet in the tunnel. "Ok, but wouldn't we want to turn left on the way down, and then on the way back always take the right way?" She asked tilting her head to the side to look at him noticing that he was blushing. She blushed too and moved a bit farther away afraid that he was embarrassing him. She wouldn't want to do that, because he had been so nice!

She smiled at him and without really thinking, hooked her arm around his middle, moving closer. A sideways hug as she looked at him, her hair coming a little loose from it's nice hairdo and a few strands fell into her face as she looked at him. She smiled and glanced down the tunnel again to look at it. Then he offered her a light. She shook her head. "No... I don't really like fire." She said softly staring at the light. She had learned that fire can hurt you, and thinking of holding it scared her. So she'd let him hold it for as long as he wanted it.

But it would make her a bit happier for it to just go away, she really didn't like fire, what if it fell and hit her robes. She shuddered and stared at the fire in his hand. "Actually.. I'm kinda afraid of fire.." She said gripping him, one hand around his middle, the other hand on his shoulder staring at the fire. She kept her face close to his but was almost wanting more to move away from him. But he had been so nice to her. So nice, she thought he deserved a hug. So letting go of him she moved away from the fire going to the wall letting go of his hand.

Tzel's emotions were truly getting a run for their money. One moment, as she stepped closer and suddenly had an arm wrapped around his side, he felt like his heart was about to explode with glee. It took everything in his power not attempt to hug her in one of his over-exuberant ways that often was misconstrued as a tackle.

However, just as he was feeling almost on top of the world, his ears heard those terrible words. His ears drooped as he realized he had been making this special girl, who had been so kind and friendly towards him, terrified by his attempt to help her. "I'm so sorry!" Tzel stated as she stepped back to the wall away from the flames. "I didn't know." Swiftly, Tzel swished his free hand around the fire and where blue flame had once been, a small orb of the same color light floated in his hand.

"See, the fire is all gone... I'm so sorry Chase...I didn't mean to scare you." he paused for a second, and stepped back hanging his head a little. Then he looked back up to see her eyes. "Maybe I can make it up to you by telling you something I'm afraid of?" Tzel didn't wait for her to answer. "I wasn't just scared of the path out there... I'm afraid of the ocean. Something about it doesn't sit right with me at all. All that murky saltwater, things swimming about. The idea that i could be under all that right now..." Tzel didn't finish the sentence but instead just shivered and looked away. He was quiet still and hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry Chase... really I am." he murmured feebly.

The fire disappeared and suddenly he looked so sad. She looked at him sadly and smiled moving closer and hugging him as he finished his last apology. "I'm sorry, I didn't tell you." She said softly hugging him, hoping she wasn't pulling on any of his tails as she hugged him around the middle. "I"m sorry." She said her blush leaving from her cheeks as she hugged him simply cause she felt so bad of him.

"I thought the bridge was scary too." She said taking hold of his hands as she pulled away from the hug. She smiled at him holding onto his hands. "Ok, come on, lets go down a passage." She said grinning at him. She let go of one of his hands, but kept the other hand in hers, and then she started down the left side tunnel. "I think we should go left, so that if there are more tunnels down there, then we turn right, and we get out." She said smiling at him. "Just thinking." She said smiling at him happily and she pulled on his hand his hand so much bigger then hers so it almost swallowed her as she held on tightly.

"Come on!" She giggled pulling him down the tunnel leaving that intersection behind. Then turning to look at him again excitement shining in her eyes. "This is awesome, look at this passageway, I wonder.. are we going down or what?" She asked seeing the tunnel turn up ahead. She blinked a few times and turned the corner looking down the never ending passage. "Wow, this is a long passage." She said softly.

Once again, Tzels emotions were jerked around once more. She apologized to him now? However, he hardly heard her. Tzel's heart was busy pounding in his upward-pointed ears. His world was spinning and it all felt unreal. Chase had wrapped her arms around him in a close embrace. Tzel had no idea how to react; and felt panicked. He did not know what to do, and he did not want to offend her. At the same time, Tzel was afraid that he might overstep his bounds. Finally, he swallowed his fear and hesitantly placed his arms around her gently, just as she released him.

It seemed to have vanished all too quickly; but they were once again walking hand in hand. He grinned madly, at what had just transpired more than the events at present. However he soon caught himself back up and ran alongside her saying "Slow down, slow down! We cant go running down strange hallways, we might...trip or something. " Tzel had been about to say, run into a trap, but he realized that might worry Chase and wanted to avoid that at all costs.

"Look!" he pointed ahead at doors that looked old and dusty ahead of them. Keeping chase in one hand, he let the little ball of light float up by his shoulder as he tried to open the door. "Darn... it's locked." Tzel thought about trying to get in anyways; but didn't want to anger whoever owned such a place. "Well, maybe there's something farther ahead." Tzel began walking calmly ahead down the tunnel with Chase at his side. However, his tails didn't return to their place on Chase, he was nervous that he might be going too far to do that again without any indication from her that she was scared.

Chase grinned and looked at the doors. Smiling at him she watched as he tried to open one but it as locked. Shaking her head she glanced down the hallway. "Wow, this entire passage is lined with doors!" She said softly walking up next to him so that she was holding onto his hand reassuringly. She wasn't quite sure she liked this place and moved closer to him glancing at the doors on either side. She could just imagine something popping out at them while they passed and her heart rate accelerated just thinking about it. Moving as close as she could get without tripping him she walked along next to him.

"What do you think is in there?" She whispered almost afraid to make a noise, it was dead silent besides their feet on the ground, and somewhere far off was a constant dripping sound of water. She stood close to him and jumped at random things, the light wavering on the wall, making her grip his hand with both of hers. She had learned a new emotion, fear from the imagination. She didn't normally get scared, and had never really imagined things on her own, of course she had never been down a creepy hallway in a beautiful dress, with a fox boy.

Swallowing she walked close to him and glanced at the doors again gripping his hand in both of hers, actually holding up his hand so that she could grip it better, holding it to her chest she glanced around her eyes landing on him and his little ball of light for a few seconds before passing on to the doors around them. "Hey look I think there's another split up there." She said pointing with one hand before putting her hand back on his holding his hand tightly, but she loosened it afraid she was hurting him.

Once more, she was up against him and although Tzel felt bad that she was afraid, he could not deny that he was a little happy for the excuse to wrap his tails around her once more. What's more, she was now holding his hand even closer, tightly with both her hands. Tzel smiled warmly blushing once more. "Don't worry, whatever is out there is nothing I can't handle. I traveled with a Dragon once." Tzel didn't mean to sound too cocky, he was just trying to reassure her while, hopefully, making him sound a bit interesting thanks to his adventures.

Looking ahead at what she pointed to, he squinted a little harder. "Yeha it looks like that might be a split, lets go check it out." leading the way he walked further down the hallway. When they entered "the split" it was no intersection at all. No, this was another grand ballroom. One that, in days long past, must have been many times more splendid than the one they had left. To get a better look at the place, Tzel tossed the little ball of light up into the air and it burst. The fragments became new orbs of light, the same size as the first, and they spread up above them like stars in the sky. The large chamber was now bathed in the dim blueish light; but what caught his eyes, was the floor of the room. It was not a floor of stone or tile, rather one gigantic mirror. "Wow Chase...look at that!" Tzel gasped in awe and wonder.

Traveled with a Dragon? He had.. traveled with a Dragon? Did he mean Drake? She watched him but was soon pulled off to the intersection before she had a chance. But what she saw knocked the breath right out of her. It was beautiful, one big mirror on the floor. She gasped and let go of his hand walking out onto the floor. Standing in shock in the middle of the dance floor. "Can you just imagine.. how beautiful it must have been here when it was used?" She asked softly turning to look at Tzel happily. "Wow, it's so amazing." She whispered staring back at him.

She spun in a circle looking up at the lights he had made hovering over them. It made the entire place become illuminated, throwing her in a soft light, her reflection bouncing back at her. She looked down at herself and smiled. Getting annoyed with her hair she pulled it out, her hair falling down around her shoulders, the short hair sitting around her chin in some spots. She turned to look at him, her hair slightly wavy from the braids.

Chase smiled and turned back to look at him smiling. "This is so beautiful." She said smiling spinning in a circle. It was even bigger then the one upstairs and much more beautiful. "I wonder why they used the one upstairs, this one is so pretty." She said softly turning to look at Tzel again.

Watching her excitement, was worth the pain in his chest caused by her letting go of his hand. Tzel smiled warmly as he watched her, looking about the magnificent chamber in as much wonder as he felt. While she looked up at the light above, he was bathed in blue flames that gave no heat for an instant. The result was him now dressed in long black pants, tucked properly into soft soled leather boots. White tunic was worn above, and draped over his shoulders was an ebony cloak. Tzel had made the change swiftly, to this guise, to seem more fitting beside Chase, rather than his nearly shirtless real clothing.

Tzel heard her ask him if this place was beautiful, and not intending to flirt in such an obvious way, he simply spoke what he thought in that moment. "You are beautiful." As he strolled out onto the floor he waved his hand and suddenly the light grew warmer. The dust in the place seemed to vanish, and the lights rested in the unlit chandelier. It began to look as if it was ready for guests. Tzel looked about the massive chamber and realized what this was missing. Instruments appeared, floating in midair, and began to play the same music they had heard in the distance before they vanished down the hallway that had lead to this labyrinth. "There, now you can see for yourself." Tzel said looking away pretending to admire his work rather than hide the red flush in his face. And the room is now pretty enough to be graced by you...unlike me.

Chase blushed deeply when he said she was beautiful. She watched as he made the room look so beautiful. Music started to play, and the dust seemed to disappear. She was left standing in the middle of the beautiful dance floor and she felt the blush creep onto her face. He was looking around the room as he came nearer to her. It was all so great. She smiled at him and walked up to him curtsying in front of him. "May I have this dance?" She asked a deep blush set into her cheeks but she didn't really care at the moment.

It wasn't like she even knew the meaning of the world flirt. So she just thought they were friends. Like she thought all of her guy friends were friends. She smiled at him and stood up straight holding out her hand to him. She giggled slightly and waited for him to accept her dance or decline it. She wouldn't mind if he did, she couldn't dance anyway. "I'm afraid I can't dance, so I might step on you." She said blushing her hand still held out to him.

She felt her now loose hair flick around her shoulders softly, the soft hair in small curls due to braids, and hanging down the sides of her face framing it. She felt so weird though, normally she had at least ribbons in her hair, but now she had her hair down it fell down lower on her neck, it tickled her eyes and she smiled at him having to push her hair out of her face often because it fell into her eyes and made it hard to see him even though it had gotten much brighter.
