Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Chase stared around her. She was hidden behind a crate on the outskirts of town. Humans scared her, so she was ready to just watch them. The forest was behind her, and the hidden city was in front of her. Watching people pass she knew it was a good idea to hide. Chase was a Faun, she had the legs of a goat which ended in two sharp hooves, a tail, and two horns. She had to be about four feet tall, and had long black hair, that also matched the fur on her goat legs. Her eyes were piercing green in colour and she wore a simple pink cloth over her chest. Watching the people in the town she turned around and trotted back to the forest. Doing a backflip, she pounced up into a tree, and landed with her legs hooked over the branch, upside down. Pulling herself up she sat on the branch, letting her hooves dangle down. The road to the town was nearby and she could see people walking in and out. It was a beautiful sunny day today. Not a cloud in the sky, which made it harder for Chase to blend in. Faun's usually stayed in their herds, but the granddaughter to the head of the herd, had gotten tired of it, which was Chase, and she had gone off on her own. Having traveled long and far she was now in this town. Watching people enjoy the nice weather. It sure was nice out today. She sighed and leaned against the trunk of the tree, her tail and hooves hanging over the branch. |

Shien-Zen's wings spread wide as he flew through the air. The sun was out, and high in the sky, nowhere close to setting. He was calm now, well, at least compared to earlier when he was angry and confused. Now, if wanted, someone could talk to him without him scaring them away. His destination was quite far, and he was starting to slow down tremendously. It would take him forever to get there if he didn't take a rest after he already flew for a couple hours straight. So with that in mind, he decided to rest in the forest below him. The glow around his wings slowly faded and he descended rapidly through the air, landing on his feet with a thud. He looked up at his surroundings, making sure that this was a suitable place for resting..but then he saw the fawn sitting on the tree. "Oh, um, sorry for bothering you. I will take my leave.." He started to turn around, and walk away. |

Chase jumped and almost fell out of the tree when suddenly a man, no..an angel came from nowhere. She yelled out and was clinging on upside down on the branch. "Hey wait!"She said doing a flip and landing on her hooves on the ground. "You didn't disturb me!"She said running so she was standing in front of him. Why did everyone have to be so tall? She looked way up to see him, having to take a few steps back, her tail swishing a bit nervously. "Hello, I am Chase!"She said bowing deeply to him. Chase wasn't like most Fauns, she loved to talk to Humans, just not a bunch of humans at a time. Well TECHNICALLY, he wasn't a human. But he was close enough for her tastes. She smiled up at him flipping her long black hair out of her face, barely showing her two small horns that stuck out of the top of her head. "It is nice to meet you."She said smiling at him. |

He heard her jump from the tree, and land. Turns out he did not disturb her at all, he turned to look at her. She was much shorter in stature compared to him. He bowed almost as deeply as she did, it was a general show of respect for her, since he showed the same. However, usually the next thing he does can change a meeting for the worst. Yes..it was an alignment scan. The very thing that could make the conversation go the wrong way. Good thing it turned out it was a good alignment. "Hmph." That was good, maybe he can make a friend. Chase grinned up at him. "What brings you here, to this lonely island?"She asked looking up at him, unsure of what else to say. Of course this wasn't her lonely island either, in fact she wasn't quite sure HOW she had gotten here. But here she was! Spying on humans, and running into Angels! "Oh, and I am a FAUN."She said bowing again to show her respect to the higher power that was Shien-Zen. "So as you don't confuse me with those Satyrs." She said making a funny face and looking back up at him. "It is a pleasure to meet you Shien-Zen."She said grinning up at him. How very odd, she was just making new friends all over the place, first Drake and now this Angel, who seemed very polite, he even bowed back to her! She was sure they would get along right away. Smiling she had run out of things to say so she waited for his response. It was such a beautiful island, she was almost transfixed by the beauty of it. Made her want to take out her flute or harp and start to play. Hmm..maybe she would later in the evening. |

He was just taking a break, nothing more, but it looks like it's turning out to be more than that. The faun seemed very friendly toward him, and it's very possible that this was the nicest life form he's run across since his arrival on this very world. At least that is what the first impression gave off. She seemed to be very respectful, and that was something Shien-Zen could come to appreciate. Cause when someone respects him, he respects them back. Her funny face made him smile, not quite laugh. This fawn may be nice, but she is a little hyper. "Faun. Right..well, I am a seraph. I landed her as a break on my long journey to the library. How about yourself? Is this where you live?" |

"Oh no, I don't live here!"She said giggling. "I'm one of the only wanderers of my kind, usually we sit around and play music and live in herds, but I became a wanderer to help add information to the knowledge of our kind."She said smiling at him. He was very nice. She immediately liked him. "Could we be friends?"She asked very directly. She didn't care about beating around the bush, it wasn't her personality. And she never found things awkward, it annoyed her when people thought she was awkward, so she learned to ignore that. Smiling at him happily she tilted her head to the side, her long black hair falling into her face slightly. She smiled up at him. "I do have a camp around her, simply because Humans scare me.."She said glancing at the town. "They don't usually like Fauns, so I stay away from them."She said shrugging. "I respect their own place, they usually respect mine."She said grinning at him. "Would you like to join me at my camp?"She asked her eyes sparkling. |

Ah, so she was just a wanderer, and the only one here. He kept the smile on his face, to keep the mood the way it was. The way she jumped into things, not quite his style, but that does not mean that it was necessarily a problem either. His mind was on other things, like figuring out what feelings and emotions were. This was only meant to be a short break, but it seemed as if it'd be longer. Well, what the heck..it's not like he had anything better to do. He nodded to her when she asked him to join her camp, "Yes, I think that would be nice, but I will only spend the night there." The sun began to set in the distance; it was getting dark. |

Chase smiled at him and, taking a hold of his pant leg at the knee (Seeing as she couldn't reach up much farther than that) she pulled him along the trees, her hooves making a soft clip clopping sound on the dirt. Her hair swayed back and forth on her back, as it mingled with the black fur on her legs. Grinning she led the way to her small little camp in a clearing. "Yes, but don't let me being a wanderer give you any impressions, I am simply looking for knowledge."She said grinning. "We have run out of it recently, learning the same old things over and over, and boy have I learned a lot."She said sighing as she walked into her little camp. There was a tiny tent that was big enough for her only. A fire the size of Chase was in the middle of the clearing and a little line ran across the place little shirts that could only fit Chase hanging off them. "Welcome to my little makeshift camp."She said smiling at Shien-Zen. "Don't let the clothes bother you, they're just hanging up to dry."She said giggling. She realized it must look like a faerie must live here, by the size of everything. She was rather small for her age. Even as Faun's were short, she was much shorter by comparison even to them. She looked around. "So tell me about yourself!"She said moving to sit by the fire and looking up at him expectantly. |

He was tugged along by his leg. It was obvious she wanted him to follow her, so he did. Soon, they were in a clearing. There was a small fire in the middle, and a tent. Interesting, the little faun set up a whole camp just for herself, and all by herself. That let him know that fawn's were at the very least relatively intelligent creatures, and furthermore let him know when she said that her race was looking for more knowledge. "More knowledge on what, exactly?" He took a few steps into the camp, taking another quick look around. Everything seemed normal, and he decided he would rest, and take a sit, sitting with his leg folded in front of the fire. He became a little confused when she asked him to tell her about himself. 'I go around punishing ones who are tainted,' would be a little disturbing to the little innocent fawn. He would tell her that, except word it much nicer. "Well, I am a seraph, which is the highest rank of angels. My job is to protect the innocent from evil." |

Chase grinned. "Well, I'm looking for things like, languages, and dances...and music!"She said grinning. "I love music, and love speaking new languages."She grinned and swayed slightly to her own music. She listened as he described his job. "But I don't want to know about you're job..I want to know about you!"She said leaning forward sitting on her knees. Her tail was out flat behind her and her hair fell into her face as she looked up at him excitedly. "It's neat that you're an angel..but what are YOU like? What do you feel on certain subjects? What is you're response to the growing violence in the world?"She asked sounding much to wise for her age. Which was only 17. She looked at him seriously. Growing up in her herd she had learned to be more mature as each day grew by. She knew how to sing, and dance, but her love for languages had kept her smarter than a lot of people, helping her soak up knowledge like a sponge. Even though she was relatively clumsy, she was a beautiful dancer because of her slender frame and short stature, making her appear like she would blow away on the wind if a gust to hard came by. |

A dancing faun who spoke different languages, how rare was that? She was really smart, perhaps even smarter than him. The questions she asked..these are questions he was almost never asked. He was a little confused at first on how to answer them, without sounding as cold as he really is. She just seemed so warm and fuzzy, she showed almost no anger at all. But his inside was all rotten and empty, especially when compared to her. He might not be able to see into her mind, he could just tell she was warmer inside than him. Years and years upon years of being angry did this to him. Maybe the damage was unrepairable.. "Well, I am lacking many essential emotions. That is why I am on my journey to attempt to find them, and discover what they are. The growing violence is because of al the tainted ones that inhabit the world, and I feel they need to be punished for their dark deeds. Which they will be.." He might have accidentally let the coldness out in his voice. He hoped it wouldn't scare her. |

Chase stared him aghast. "Lacking emotions?"She asked standing up and moving closer to him, setting a small warm hand on his arm. "I can help you!"She said looking up at him smiling. "Ok, now do you know how to smile? I haven't seen you smile once since I met you well, that I was looking."She smiled and looked up at him placing both hands on his arm. "So you have a lot of anger in you, now I want you to sit down and listen."She stopped and turned around. Running to a little bag she kept with her at all times she pulled out a small hand held harp. Looking up at him she moved over to his side again and pulled a few strings, adjusting the tune on them. "ok, now I'm going to play you a song and I want you to tell me what emotion you think it is."She said smiling. Pulling the strings, one after another her hands flew across the instrument playing a very cheery tune. Looking up at him she smiled when it was done. "How does that make you feel?"She asked, now sitting on the ground have the almost three minute long song. She watched his face expectantly wanting to see how he felt about the song called King of the Faeries. [OOC: Click on tune after cheery and it will give you the song] |

"Well I know how to smile, yes," he watched her put her warm hand on him. "But..I cannot do it at will. It just happens, something happens that makes me smile. I might chuckle sometimes.." She noted that he had a lot of anger in him. Was he that obvious that he was angry? Or maybe Chase was just that smart and sensitive to how another was feeling. He was even more impressed when she flawlessly played the song with her instrument. Though it was a good song, no doubt, he did not feel anything when he listened to the song. His face twisted and turned when the song finished, trying to think of what emotion he felt..nothing, or at least, nothing he could clearly pick out. Not happy, sad, appreciative, joyful, anything. But maybe, just maybe a hint of anger. It was not definite. "I..I am not sure. It was a very good song, though. I liked it." |

Chase looked aghast and ran up to his side putting her hand on his side. "Nothing at all?"She asked looking at him seriously. "You didn't feel..happy? Or joyful?"She asked looking at him carefully her eyes probing his. "What makes you..not angry then?"She asked both hands on his side again leaning up so that she could look him in the face, even though he was so much taller then her, even sitting down. She looked aghast still, confused, but more over concerned. She had never met someone who couldn't feel any other emotion but hatred, anger, and sadness. She looked at him sadly. She couldn't imagine not knowing how to smile at will. She smiled at him calmly, hoping to make him happier. She spun away from him, and tapped her hoof on the ground her hands out to the side. "How about a dance then?"She asked bowing to him, her tail swishing out to the side. "Stand up, I am going to teach you an old traditional Faun dance.'She said smiling at him. She tapped her left hoof to the ground and swished her tail. "You can substitute the tail with flapping you're wings once."She said smiling up at him. "Please dance with me?" |

"Nope. Nothing..well, maybe a little small hint of anger." He shrugged at her. If he could have lied, he would have. He could tell she was greatly disappointed in the fact that he did not feel happiness or joy in the song. She was really trying to make him smile, and he could tell this by the body language she used toward him. He met a few that touched him in a certain way, that he could tell they were attempting to make him smile or feel better about something. "A dance?" He was a little hesitant, he was not a dancer. He did not understand why she was being so nice to him. It was not something he was used to..it made him think..what if this was a set up or something? What if she would just betray him later? His mind, it was so messed up. But that's why he needed to find his emotions so he wouldn't be like this! "..Why are you so nice to me?" |

Chase looked a little surprised at his question. "Why wouldn't I be nice to you?"She asked tilting her head to the side. "Oh, sorry I just answered a question with a question."She said grinning slightly but looking curious at the same time. "I have absolutely no reason to not be nice to you...."She said watching his reactions carefully. "So why wouldn't I be nice?"She smiled and stomped her hoof on the ground. "So do you want to dance?"She asked softly looking up at him. "You really don't have to if you don't want to."She said looking away ashamed. "I shouldn't make you do what you don't want to do."She said looking up at him smiling again. It was odd how Chase worked. As long as you were nice to her, she would show the kindness back by being nice to Shien. She looked up at him as the revelation hit her. "You can't be all angry Shien-Zen!"she said smiling at him. "If you were all angry, then the first thing you would have done is run away from me! You wouldn't be here, sitting with me by the fire, listening to songs!" She said grinning at him. "See you're nice! You just have to learn to be happy with what life gives you!"She said smiling. "I mean, look around you!"She said spinning in a circle. "It's a beautiful day! The Sun is out, and it warms you're skin! The wind is fresh and keeps you cool!"She grinned at him. "If you look at the little things in life, then you'll learn to be happy, just enjoy it while you can, for you don't know how long it will be around."She said smiling at him happily. |

"Well..umm..you do not necessarily have a reason to be nice to me either." He replied back, a little icily. He was doing terrible, his voice was so cold, and he did not seem to bend to any of her attempts to make him smile. "Well, thank you. I really am not a dancer, sorry." He looked down, his eyes closing and mouth turning straight, angry with himself for not being able to dance. He felt the need to try to make her happy since she was trying especially hard. "Well..I may be angry, but that does not mean I have to be a jerk to you because of it. I try not to take my anger out on other people, unless they deserve it. And truthfully, you do not deserve to feel or know of any of my anger." He sighed to himself, and reclined backwards, resting on his wings as he looked into the sky. "I apologize for not responding as you probably intended. It is...just the way I am." |

"I have this theory Shien-Zen."She said moving closer to him and sitting on the ground. "That everyone is nice unless proven otherwise, and I never let first impressions cloud that vision."She said looking up at him. "I think you are a very nice person Shien-Zen, but you need help seeing the little things in life."She smiled and walked over to her tent. Disappearing inside for a little bit, she came out with a stick and some mushrooms. Sticking the mushrooms on the stick she put them over the fire. "Do angels eat?"She asked casually as she honestly didn't know. In fact, she hadn't known Humans ate either until she saw one through a window eating dinner. She smiled and looked up at him. "It only takes a little bit and they are juicy..maybe you need a good taste to help bring your senses to life."She said undeterred by his apparent lack of emotion. She would make him smile weather he wanted to or not! She had to see him smile, or else she had failed. Well, not failed, but she would be very sad. She had one night..so she had to work hard. Smiling up at him she pulled the mushroom off the stick and held it up to him. "Try it."She said warmly hoping he would take it. |

Nice? He was never called that before, not even by those with a good alignment, and especially not those with a bad alignment. And rightfully so, he generally was not a nice person. Being angry all the time did not make a nice Shien-Zen. "Well..thank you. I appreciate it." He watched her go into the tint and come back with mushrooms. He watched her put the mushroom on the stick and over the fire. "Yes..everyone must eat, even angels." The mushroom was hot after just coming out of the fire, but not hot enough to burn Shien-Zen's tough fingers. He took it, examining it for a second..it could have been poisoned. But it looked like a normal eatable mushroom. He ate the mushroom, chewing on it for a few moments before he swallowed. "Hmm.." |

Chase watched him excitedly. The mushroom was one of her favourites, juicy and almost sweet, but not to sweet, a soft taste, that didn't explode but tasted great. She looked up at him waiting for reaction. She looked down at the fire for a second and then grabbed another mushroom, putting it on a piece of seasoned bark and laying it next to the fire. The smell of cooking herbs wafted from the fire, as did the sound of the sizzling mushrooms. "This is what you eat if you want a more...POP in you're tastebuds."She said smiling. Sitting and staring at the fire for a second she looked up at him. "What happened to you that made you so angry?"She asked suddenly. "Maybe if you come to terms with what made you angry, you will figure out a way to push you're anger aside."She said sitting on her knees her tail swishing behind her, her hooves clicking together unintentionally. "I mean, if you feel upset, come to terms with what is making you upset. Sit down, close your eyes and clear your mind."She said sitting cross-legged on the ground. She closed her eyes and smiled putting her hands on her knees. "Then you think back through your past and pin point exactly where you started to feel anger, and if you don't remember, push back farther, to see if you can feel a reason behind the anger."She said softly. |

"Yes, it was..good." But it did not make him show any emotion, but at least it was not anger this time. She was so happy. Happiness..something he would never understand. Her smile was so warm to him, however, a small smile appeared on his face. It was hardly noticeable, there were no teeth, and his mouth may have moved just a little. But it was a smile none the less. Then she asked him why he was so angry, and it disappeared quickly. MAYBE she saw it if she was paying very close attention. He sighed, looking over to her plainly. "It is all I was ever taught, it is all I have ever known." |

Chase looked happy all of a sudden. She had seen it! The thing she wanted to see since she had met him! A smile! She grinned happily up at him. "You smiled!" She said clapping her hands excitedly. She listened as he said it was all he was ever taught. She gasped her grin disappearing. "You need to come and visit my herd, they would bring you and teach you all the ways on viewing life the right way."She said grinning at him. "Teach you ways I can't teach you, I've seen to much, know to much to help better." She looked up at him smiling. "Would you come meet them? I have someone I need to see in that forest anyway, so it would be good if I got in contact with them as soon as possible...if I can find a way off this island."She said glancing around. She had just come from being on the run from a psychopathic killer, she wasn't quite sure how to get away from this island now. |

Tatsu-Zen had come down to earth because Shien wasn't doing a very good job. Apparently, he was developing more emotions, sympathizing with the ones he was supposed to be judging. Going soft. Tatsu growled, thinking about that weakling. He was leaving too many of those vile creatures that lived in this world alive. Tatsu walked out of the forest, and came across a ridiculous scene. Shien-Zen was sitting and talking with a creature, it looked like a faun. No, not just talking, eating food it provided! Tatsu walked up and growled, "What is the meaning of this?! Shien, why are you fraternizing with this..." He glanced at her and practically spat the final words of his sentence "Creature?!" Tatsu's face was contorted into a mix of rage and disgust. "Why aren't you judging and slaying the worms that live on this world? You shouldn't be sitting around and taking bites of mushrooms! You should be condemning, killing, slaughtering!" |

Wow, she actually saw the smile. It could be a good thing, but it made him turn red in the face a little. The little fawn was kind of cute, and it actually..warmed him up on the inside a little to know that he made her happy. She was just so cheery. He wanted to reach out to hug her, but she might have taken it the wrong way. No one was ever this nice to the Seraph, known as Shien-Zen. And at the same time..he was never this happy before. His smile widened a little more when she offered to show him to her family. It was a great opportunity to meet new friends. He stood up and stretched, "Sure! I would like to-" But it was then as he spoke that he heard a familiar voice. It was not too long ago he heard this very voice..it was the one who sent him here. His father..he slowly turned to face him, his eyes widening, as he took a step back. Apparently his father did not like the fact that Shien-Zen was developing other emotions. He had to think of a reasonable response quickly. But he could not think of anything that would not make his father more upset..the only thing he could do was tell the truth. Before he spoke, he bowed very politely, "Well..umm, Father, someone taught me that.." He cleared his throat, it was obvious he was a little fearful. "..That I should be able to feel other emotions besides anger. And I do feel these emotions from time to time, so I mean, they cannot be wrong! Right, father?!" |
