Black, a color he was not used to wearing. He did not wear it usually, as it usually reflected that the one wearing it had something to hide, or perhaps that person had evil intent. He just overall did not like the color, however, the event called for dark colors, and he did not want to disrespect the event by doing the exact opposite. Everyone seemed so happy with whoever they were with. His eyes just looked around the area, seeing who was here. He noticed a lot of different types of people..not just humans, in particular. It made him wonder if this was such a good idea for him to come here..all alone, hoping to find someone who would also be lacking a date. There was an empty table, and everyone looked at him with a slight disgust because of his wings. He gave them the same disgusted look; how dare they look at him in that way. He took a seat in the chair, and leaned back slowly, his wings relaxing. Maybe his date would walk into the door in a few minutes.. |

At around that time, a familiar face wandered her way into the party. She stood by the door for a long moment, simply taking in the grand view of this occasion, far too fancy for her tastes. Women all dolled up with painted faces, men like mannequins, perfect specimens gliding across the dance floor as if they'd been doing it for a hundred years, and planned on doing so for a hundred more. Freya felt terribly under dressed, poured within a simple gown, its color a dulled forest green. It possessed one strap over her right shoulder, crossing over and down to meet the backside of the fabric just at her waist, the dress a backless piece with green satin ribbons in three large 'X's to keep the garment pinned to her. It was a tight fit, displaying her figure wonderfully. A pair of seductive form lines were apparent where it clung to the place just below her stomach, where one could see the front side of her voluptuous hips and the space where her flat abs met her pelvis. Into the room she ventured, warily, seeking known faces. She'd received the invitation wondering why she'd be invited to such an event, but had ultimately decided, why not? It's a party. Like hell she'd turn down free food and booze. There were booze, right? Just a matter of locating it... From across the room, her green eyes flitted to the sore thumb in the room, the one with the six white wings. Upon seeing him, she gave him a familiar sweet smile, and crossed the floor to meet him at his seat. "Hello, Shien-Zen. Funny seeing you here. I honestly thought we'd never meet again. How are you?" |

Yes the figures graced the floor beautifully, something he knew he could not do. And if he tried, he would probably embarass himself. His abs and body structure was nicely hidden underneath that black tuxedo. He saw the one from earlier..the beautiful one, Freya, in the distance. There was way too much competition around, and he was sure that he would go unnoticed by her. Though he was an angel, and beautiful, there were just..too many people around. So you could imagine his suprise when she glided over to him. Her walk was beautiful to him, and his eyes traced the lines in her dress, up to her face. He quickly stood up and bowed once, brushing himself off, making sure he looked his best for her..he felt the need to try to impress her, and it was obvious in his gesture. "Yes..i-it is..quite the suprise." He sighed to himself. "I have been quite alright..yourself? Do you not have a date?" |

His obvious gestures forced a chuckle from her, her arm moving so that that hand may rest on the arm opposite, her thumb gliding over her soft, bare skin there un unease, standing in a place unfamiliar, surrounded by equally unfamiliar people, and so far not a Whiskey bottle in sight. It might be only a half hour before she'd decide to leave... "Oh, I've been doing wonderfully, thank you for asking," she bowed her head briefly to him in return as he had done for her. He'd inquired if she was alone tonight, and to that, she gave him a smirk as if to say 'you really ought to know better', and turned her back to him, her head turned so that her green eyes could keep contact. "With an ass like this? You kiddin'?" she turned back to face him. "Yes, I do have a date. He's behind me... uhm... somewhere. Must have stopped to examine the substance this place is made out of, or something equally as dumb. Haha." |

She was laughing at him. It was obvious he was not impressing her at all..maybe he was trying to hard, however, she did bow back to him. That was a good thing, made him happy on the inside, that they had that kind of mustal respect for each other. When she mentioned her asset and turned around, he took a quick peak. It was then that his face became more read than a fire hydrant. And he looked up at the ceiling as she turned back around. Then their eyes made contact. His blush slowly disappeared when she assured him she had a date. He sighed to himself, disappointment. "Oh..I..should have known.." It was obvious in his tone that he was upset about that, and he sat back in the chair, kneeling his head. In his head, he knew (or thought) he would never have a girl that was as amazing as her. |

When she saw the disappointment in his face, she frowned, the frown, in turn, gradually turned upwards with a reassuring grin. She laid a hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "Trust me when I say this. I make a far better friend than a date. I'm a thief of all kinds of things, hearts being among them. I don't think anyone here wants me to break your heart, as I am quite capable of doing. You need a good girl, Shien-Zen. I ...am far, far from a good girl. I might be playing nice now, but thankfully, you seem to keep running into me on the good days." Her hand fell away. She pulled a chair out for herself and took a seat, crossing her legs. The slit in her dress, in such a position, showed a teasing amount of the bare skin of her thigh and leg, the fabric draping around the ankle of the shin beneath. "C'mon, chin up. I won't let you start moping at a party." She reached forward, boldly sliding the back of her hand beneath his chin, forcing it upwards. "There. Now everybody can see your pretty eyes." |

He watched her sit down, and was also a little suprised at this, he thought he wasn't worth her time, and she would just go back to whatever date she had. But she didn't. She mentioned something about being friends..this was great, another chance he had at making friends with someone. But..was he supposed to make friends? Was he allowed to make friends? Then she went on to tell him he needed a good girl. Why was it everytime they met, she said something groundbreaking to him that he never heard before. Him..needing a girl. Her posture was suggestive, but now he was thinking about the topic at hand. His eyes naturally moved to watch her position, shortly before she lifted his chin up, and his eyes then met with hers. "You..you think if I found a good girl..that maybe I would be happier?" |

She knew that the angel held her in high regards. From the violent outburst in the cathedral, she'd been told that he was a naturally violent person. With her, he seemed as docile as a lamb. Not just that, but he asked her questions, the kind he could cry about. In her own world, she wasn't anything special. She just had her priorities straight, and had stopped worrying about who she was or what she was supposed to do. "I think you might be less lonely," she began. "However, you need to find your happiness on your own, and you can't rely on others to find it for you. We all feel the need to be paired up, it's instinct, but the moment you lay that burden on another person is the moment you really betray them. It's okay. You'll get there. You just need to stop worrying so much... It's that worrying that makes you so frustrated, and, in turn, makes you angry." Freya reclined back in her seat, draping her arm over the back. "Maybe you should try watching people for a little while, as opposed to getting involved. Take particular interest in others and analyze what fuels them. Try to understand them without losing your temper. Try to see things in their perspective..." |

"Happiness..." He reapted it to himself, thinking out loud again. Would he ever have the proper chance to experience that? How could he, when the only thing he has been taught..is how to kill..and just being a generally mean and bitter person. It was almost like the word was foriegn to him. She made mention that he was lonely, and maybe that was true. Afterall, he only had 2 friends now, and he nearly lost one of them. Maybe that's what he needs..some friends, some people who he can trust and depend on when things get tough. No matter how strong he became, he would never be able to take on the whole world by himself. But would he ever realize that? "..Okay..so we are friends..I accept that..I appreciate that, it means a lot to me. You probably are not suprised..but you are only 1 of 2 people I can actually call friend. ..Is it important to be liked?" |

Once again, he'd made her laugh a little. She folded her arms across her chest and shook her head, "No, it's not important to be liked. We want to be liked because we, as creatures, are social. That, as well, is basic instinct, but it's not important. Shien," she leaned forward onto the table, folding her arms upon the surface, and laid her head down to rest on top of them. "You strike me as a fellow who has no clue what their priorities are, their place in the world, or that you really know anything about yourself. I know you want to help people and be a good guy, but you really need to figure those things out before you try to help anyone else. It sucks to hear, but if you were to attempt to help in the state you're in now, you'd be just as likely to cause more harm than good. That's not because you're not good, you're just really confused. And you're not alone there. Most people are. Did you know, for instance, that all quarrels between two generally good people are simply a product of miscommunication? Hm? It's that the people involved can't properly translate what they're thinking to the other person, they say it in ways others don't quite understand. That's what I mean about observing people. And observe yourself." She sat back, rolling her head to the side to watch him, apparently restless. "Might do you good to just go around for a little while, indulging in whatever you want to do, just so you can observe yourself and figure out who you really are. Don't put as much thought into things." Edited by Freya LaShale, Jul 3 2009, 09:18 PM.

He felt that she was telling him that he..shared traits similar to humans. Maybe he did want to be liked, or maybe he did not care. Whatever was happening to him, he made two friends, and it made him a bit more proud of himself..he seemed to be breaking away from whatever teachings he was raised with. It was amazing what a little kindness did to his cold heart.. One thing that stayed on his mind is the notion that she was not a good girl. If not her..then who?! She could probably see in his eyes the uncertainty he had with the past few events. He was having trouble processing all of this information, determining what advice he would take and what advice he wouldn't...trying to figure out what was true and what wasn't. And even worse.. Trying to discover what his overseer would do to him if he strayed too far from the preset path that has already been made out for him. Would he lose his power, or suffer a possibly worse punishment? These are the things he would have to determine before he continued. He stood up, looking over to her. "Thank you. Once again, I leave your presence..with new knowledge. I am sure your date must be wondering where you are..you should get back to him." He stood there, however, waiting for her to dismiss him..which he secretly hoped she would not. |

Razi’s outfit for the ball was his own interpretation of formal. He wasn’t the type to get all dressed up in a suit or tuxedo, regardless of the event. Instead, he wore his usual outfit, his trademark hooded robe and pant ensemble. For this particular event however, there were some cosmetic changes that he had undergone, the end result making him look more like a champion of light than one of shadow. The main fabric of his outfit was pristine silver, while the trim of his robe and pants was a shining gold, the texture smooth, fine, and very soft. He did without the ring of charms and the chain belt he normally wore; going for a simpler look. The long sash around his waist, his facial bandages and his shoes were the only parts about his outfit that wasn’t light; instead being deep, shined obsidian. The sash in particular was entrancing, billowing out behind him and providing a very pleasing contrasting element to his outfit. Like a natural, Razi worked the crowd, participating in a performance that for once had nothing to do with his shadow talents. He fluttered from group to group within the hall, casually chatting it up with the well to do’s as if it was second nature. From the outside looking in, he appeared to even be one of them, so receptive they were to the tall, strange hooded one with the bandaged face. He waltzed with several of the women, his movements light and airy while he subtly flirted, leaving them with a bit more than piqued interest in the magician. As time wore on, he grew tired of paying the others attention. Being a social butterfly had been fun, but now he pined for the one who was actually his date. Pulling himself away from what was actually an engaging conversation with a group of gents, he went searching for that familiar green dress. When he found her, the shadow magician didn’t even seem to notice the company she was in, so happy he was to find her. Smoothly and silently he slid up beside Freya, mirror eyes affectionately falling down on her as he brushed a silver glove down the length of her arm. “Are you enjoying yourself, dearest Freya? Would you care to danc-… Oh.” It was then that he noticed the presence of the angel. He stared at him blankly for a moment or two before speaking, eyes glinting pleasantly. “Why, hello there Shiitezan! What a pleasant surprise bumping into you here!” |

"Hahah. If he wants me, he can come and find me," she smirked. "I'd hate to interrupt whatever he's doing that's so entirely fascinating..." There was a light tone of bitterness in her voice. Freya was an impatient woman, as well as a very jealous one. Had she known that he'd been subtly flirting with other girls, this party would have one massive cat fight on its hands. "You really wanna leave me all alone? In an unfamiliar place? With unfamiliar people?" she frowned, glancing up at the seraphim with large, doe eyes. She could never hold that expression for long though, and soon the weathered hues of green returned. "...Well, m kay, go if you must, and definitely take to heart what I say. You wander too long through life without a light, and you'll be permanently blinded." It was about that moment that she felt the cool softness of a gloved hand running slowly down her arm. She tilted her head back to see who, and landed upon the face of her beau, giving him a bright smile. He had come, and here she was figuring she'd have to go out and frantically search for him. "Hello, Razi," she cooed, then swallowed some of the laughter threatening to build by him calling the seraph a convoluted name, not because she was laughing at him, but rather any of the magician's antics would make her eyes shine. "Oh, so you know each other? Ooh, how awkward..." Freya blinked and turned her head back to Shien-Zen, rising to stand and push her chair in. "Well, Shien, hah, uhm... Yeah, this is my fellow here." |

He laughed a little at Razi's mis-pronounciation of his name. It was only what..the second or third time he did it, and he had become a little used to it. He had to correct him, nonetheless. "Correctly pronounced, it is 'Shien-Zen', Razi." He said, plainly looking at Razi. He noticed he had his hand on Freya's arm, and then Freya stated that this was her date. "Yes, yes..this night has been full of many suprises." He said softly and lowly, without any hostility whatsoever. It was clear that he was not quite willing to fight over Freya. If she wanted to go with Razi and dance with him, then there was nothing he would do about it. He let out another sigh, looking to the side and sucking his teeth. ...What is this feeling? Envy? Jealousy? He would have to find out later, or maybe in a few minutes as he continued into the night with both of them. |

Razi stared blankly at the angel when he corrected him on the pronunciation of his name. “Right….” He responded somewhat dryly. The magician cared not about the names of those he wasn’t particularly interested in for one reason or another. No matter what a person’s name was, they were still just a random body until he decided that they were a permanent or long lasting fixture in his life. He turned to Freya then, tilting his head in question. “Awkward? Why so?” As far as he was aware, Freya and Shien-Zen had only just met here at the ball so he had no reason to believe things would be anything but lovely. His perplexed gaze flicked to the angel, who suddenly seemed upset. “Ehhhh?” How curious that things seemed so unbecoming of a joyous occasion here in this corner. Then it dawned on him that the angel was probably sitting alone before Freya came over to accompany him. “Why the long face, Scham-Zam?” He asked with genuine concern before moving over and draping an arm around the other’s shoulder. “Cheer up! This is an evening for jubilation and celebration!” He laughed for a moment before an invisible grin appeared on his bandaged face. “There are plenty of lovely ladies here for you to dance with!” The magician paused for a split-second, head tilting in thought. “And handsome gents as well if you’d prefer one less petite to press up against.” A cackle escaped him before he glided away from the angel and returned to Freya, gently taking her hand in his own, his focus on her. “And of you? Are you enjoying yourself, m’lady? I fear that I have neglected you.” |

The seraph was convinced that Razi would never pronounce 'Shien-Zen' correctly. He did not care, maybe it was too hard for some to pronounce, or he just was not smart enough to say it correct. Either way, it would be stupid to start a fight over something so simple, even though Razi did just imply that Shien-Zen might prefer a male to dance with. Shien-Zen looked out on the dance floor, there were not any females as desirable as Freya. He just was not the type to go out, and start talking to some random female, let alone grind against her in a suggestive fashion. It just..was not something he did to someone he did not even know. He may not know Freya too well, but he knew her better than all of them. "I would much rather not. It seems as if this is the part where I..exit?" |

"Well, yes, I am feeling a bit neglected," she frowned, glancing down to the hand of her's that had been taken. In response, she gave it a squeeze, and took a step into the magician, but even on her tip toes, she would not be able to give his cheek a kiss as she so desired, so instead, she settled for wrapping her arm around his waist for a brief satiation through embrace. "Where did you wander off to, anyways? Other girlfriends?" A challenging grin displayed upon her features before returning her attention to Shien. She wouldn't be able to explain to Razi the angel's obvious infatuation without embarrassing him, poor guy. He was such an easily readable fellow, even now as she felt his hopelessness radiating. "If you want to leave, nobody's stopping you, but I like I said before, I wouldn't mind you hanging around. Razi over here apparently doesn't give a good gods damn about me, so why not?" She smirked, her eyes drifting off to the dance floor where all of their attention seemed to be wandering. "I'll dance with you, too, if you like." Maybe she was attempting to instill a little jealousy in her date as well, just to see how much he really cared. It was a pure woman thing to do, to test a man in such a fashion, but it was effective... Usually... |

Razi tilted his head, eyes falling as he made a downtrodden noise in response to Freya saying that she felt a bit neglected. He squeezed her hand back before letting it go to return the embrace, his arms lingering around her even as she spoke and challenged him. He laughed in response to her questions. “Other girlfriends?” He mused curiously, hidden eyebrow pitching as he hummed tentatively in thought. “Well, they are girls, and they are friends….” He cooed at Freya while simultaneously his gaze flicked to the angel as Freya addressed him. Razi understood the angel’s discontent with not having a date, but he didn’t approve of the way he let it take control and dictate the angel’s entire night. The magician refrained form saying anything about it though; he had already offered all the advice he had to give regarding the situation. He knew the angel had confidence in there somewhere; he just needed to apply it to meeting someone out on the dance floor. He gasped when Freya spoke again, mirrored eyes fixating on her suddenly. “You wound me!” He explained while moving a hand to cover his heart, eyes fluttering as if he were suddenly taken by death. The magician did not know of jealousy; everything could be flipped and spun into a joke or made trivial. He was on to Freya’s game, and his eyes flickered playfully when he looked at her next, his voice a whisper as his hand brushed ever so gently across her cheek so that he may tuck some of the red locks behind her ear. “If you want me all to yourself, my dearest Freya… All you have to do is ask nicely….” |

The seraph listened to Freya seem to suggest that he stayed. He held his chin for a second within his fingers, closing his eyes briefly to think about this. He was sure he'd embarrass himself in front of the crowd of people, and that would end up making him angry and he'd do something he regretted. He just simply was not a dancer. There was another problem he had with this. He already made peace with Razi, and from what he knows on how dating and relationships work, interfering with their night would most likely ruin what little peace he already established with Razi. He took a quick glance out onto the floor, his eyes quickly shifting from left to right, as he quickly surveyed the women that were actually available. None of them seemed..quite as appealing as Freya did to him. There was just something about Freya that made her stick out tremendously when stacked up against another woman. Maybe it was the fact that Freya was one of the people who had an effect on his emotions, and she could trigger something else that was not anger. There were simply not many people who could do that. It almost seemed as if the best idea would be for him to exit. He bowed to both of them quickly.. "It would be better if I departed, Freya. I am sure I will see you again." He nodded to Razi. "You too. Have fun." With that, he turned and made his way toward the exit. |

Of course no other female in the room held the same appeal as the buxom red-head! It seemed to be the air about her that set her so far apart from all others, and the truth was that she was indeed very peculiar, but it was more a trick of the light than anything else. Take away her manipulative charisma and the great endowments of her chest, and she would seem no different than any woman gliding across the dance floor. She gave the magician a cat-like grin when he pretended to be shot in the heart, doing her best to keep her eyes off of him and play as if she wasn't concerned, when actually she hung on his every word. But when he moved to touch her face, she couldn't help but turn her head up to stare back, eyes softening the longer his touch was upon her. Her devious grin faded. Any on-looker would be able to see her, see the pair, and know there was far more in her mind than lust when it came to this strange, tall fellow. By the blush on her cheeks, she was completely smitten. Freya had nearly forgotten about the angel, starting when he spoke again. She briefly glanced back at him to see him turn to leave, calling out a quick 'goodbye' before returning to her current suitor. "Mm, alright then. Will you be all mine, please?" she batted her lashes at him coyly. "Else you might have a catfight on your hands if I see you courting another lady tonight... and that would be terribly rude to our hosts." She turned away long enough to scan the room, her body moving to where her backside grazed against his front subtly. "Hmm. Wanna start a food fight?" |

The angel’s departure was inconsequential to the shadow magician. “Bye bye.” He nodded and waved politely at Shien’s decision to leave however, it was not the magician’s place to tell someone to enjoy themselves. He would have to save his feelings of pity for the angel for later though, there was too much visual stimulation and of course Freya to keep him thoroughly distracted. He turned his head in the angel’s direction as he left, but was quickly distracted by the form of another lonely attendee, a woman. “Tch.” He shook his head. “So many people to mingle with, it’s a wonder he doesn’t put himself out there…. Ah! Well!” That would be the last he mentioned regarding the matter and he focused his full attention on his beautiful date. Now that they were only in the company of each other, Razi grinned from under his bandages at Freya. “Rude, yes…” He mused aloud, eyes flicking to the chandeliers of the ceiling as he began drumming the tips of his fingers against each other. “But oh so entertaining….” He chuckled after that, shooting Freya a teasing glance. Razi was half tempted to put that thought into motion; it wouldn’t take much. A few quick words, a joke, laugh, light touch of the shoulder… What he would give to see the red head get down and dirty with another female in the ballroom dress. He laughed inwardly, shaking his head free of the idea. It wouldn’t work. Freya would likely see through it and not go along with that plan now that she saw his mind working at how to pull it off. Oh well, he always had his imagination to fall back on. Feeling her graze against him drew his attention and he stepped forward, pressing himself against her back. He took her hands in his and lightly hugged her to him while starting to sway to the music. The magician hummed pleasantly in her ear as he mulled over her idea. “Ah… Yes, but would that not be just as rude to our hosts?” He asked while looking over her shoulder towards the dance floor and the couples on it. He didn’t know what he wanted to do at the moment, there were several activities to choose from, some of which would lead to making a bigger scene than others... Of course, if Freya really wanted to have a food fight, he’d have no choice but to oblige her. |
