Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity. But how long will that peace last? Valerie crouched down on a bit of dry land. So far there had only been some people around her, and none of them looked very appetizing. Sighing slightly she sat down on the ground and pulled out a canteen. Taking a swig of the dark liquid in it she wiped her mouth and looked around. She needed to get some more blood, she was running out. She had found out that it didn't matter how long she kept the blood, as long as she had some in her system she would be ok. So now she was ready to fill up her canteen with not water, but the blood of some unsuspecting human. Seeing someone she pounced, missed, and landed with a splash in the water. Grumbling she felt something grab her leg. Baring her fangs at the monster below it let her go. Even these creatures were afraid of Vampires. Getting onto the dry bit of land again she waited. People would wander around this swamp for days, and not realize that if they were to just head forward, they'd hit the end, but somehow they would get all turned around. She didn't see how someone could be so stupid, but oh well. She was happy with this place. It was the dead of night and still people wandered. Even in the daylight the place was so murky that all she had to do was jump in the water in the shade and she'd be fine with her nose sticking out whenever she needed a breath. It was the perfect place for her to find some food, and no one would realize their disappearance. Jumping out again she managed to catch a man. Dripping the blood into the canteen she sighed. Full canteen's didn't last long. So she pulled the body to her little island and gorged. Eating her fill she looked at the lifeless corpse. Poor man. Sure it wasn't a criminal, or even someone she knew. But Vampires had to eat sometimes too. And this place was full of people who would die anyway, so why not end their misery quickly? Smiling she pushed the body off of the island and watched it sink down to the bottom for the animals to eat. Leaning back against a tree her hair frizzy from moisture, her eyes a dark black from having just ate, with a tint of red in them. She felt content. Smiling she stood up and started to practice her seductive walk. Hips shaking, every curve of her body splendidly shown. It was a good exercise, even though she was wet. |

He had just left the abandoned cathedral, and before that, almost got killed and his friend almost died. The angel was not in his usual mood..he was a little upset and unsastisfied with himself, still. He just did not want Freya to think that he was emotionally unstable..though he really was. As he flew through the air, he wondered if it was even possible to make it up to everyone he was..well..a jerk to. It was almost like he was only a few steps from losing his position and his power, almost letting his anger completely consume and change him. Luckily Freya and his earlier discovery that he was wrong about Valeire changed him virtually just in time. But that was his new mission..he had to at least apologize to all of the ones he did wrong, and reevaluate his purpose. What a coincidence, the vampire was below him in the swamp. He slowly began to lower himself, staying quiet, his expression blank. |

Valerie giggled slightly and then sat down. Putting her hands behind her head she sighed contentedly. She was full, she was happy. She had managed to live through an encounter with the new emperor of this country. She had made a new friend, that Dragon. Ah, he was so sweet. Smiling to herself she closed her eyes. Life was actually pretty good right now. If only that stupid Shien-Zen wasn't always trying to kill her...or whatever he was trying to do. She didn't understand his reasoning behind most things, but if he said she was evil...he had to be right correct? Sighing a little bit more frustratedly she sat up and stared at the swamp around her. Then she heard something. Wings? Looking up she spotted the angel coming down. Aw crap! She looked around and without another word dove into the swamp. Baring her fangs so the creatures of the swamp knew to stay away she watched the surface. Floating down to the bottom gently she stared up at the top. Creatures stared at her but she was able to hold her breath for a long time. She had managed to get this awesome skill by having to feed off of fish for a year in the middle of the forest. After a while you're lung capacity increased greatly. Except when you're under stress. And then it feels like only to quickly you're out of air. This happened to Valerie at the bottom of this murky swamp. Glaring at the surface she kicked off and her head flipped back her now wet hair, it fell down around her shoulders and she looked around for any sign of Shien-Zen. Not only did she not want to see him, but he was probably going to try and kill her! Like he liked to think it was a good thing to do! All because she was a Vampire..She coughed and looked around quickly hoping he wasn't around. |

He saw her float back under the swamp, it was obvious she did not want to see him. He sighed to himself..would he always be seen as someone who did not care, even after he defended her from the evil emperor? He kept himself about 5 feet above the water, his eyes flashing, and he could see her a little better. Maybe she would notice by his expression that he did not come here to hurt her or attempt ot kill her, or condone her for who she is..it kind of made him even more sad that she was scared of him. People weren't supposed to fear angels unless they've done something terribly wrong.. "...Valerie, I just want to talk." |

Valerie jumped and looked up quickly. There he was. Just floating over her. Wanted to talk? This was new. Stupid Angel, couldn't he just leave her alone? Couldn't she just live out the rest of eternity in peace? Why did it all have to happen at once? Sighing she pulled herself out of the water and rung out her hair. "What do you want Shien?"She asked coldly. "Come to take another hack at me?"She asked not looking at him. "Try to convince me that I'm evil? What do you want?"She asked looking up at him angrily now. She hated the fact that she was scared of this angel. But she was considered "Bad" because of her need to survive, her fight for life. She didn't want to die, she wanted to kill the one who had changed her, and then she would be happy. Then she might even let herself die. Maybe she'd come find this loser of an angel and get him to think he was being all purposeful and kill her. But Ninshi..she couldn't leave him. She sniffed slightly tasting the air of the Angel. Ahh, the beautiful smell of holy blood. She pulled out her canteen and took a quick swig. She didn't want to lose her cool around him. He'd probably push her against the tree and cut off her head or something. Her mind still on Ninshi though. The one day where she had felt...dare she say it, loved. Even though she was just a stupid lowly Vampire to almost everyone on the earth, to Ninshi...she wasn't. She was a person, who had feelings. Yeah she might be dead..yeah she might feed off of people to survive, but she still had the feelings of a human. The habits of someone who just wanted to be loved. She looked away from Shien-Zen and concentrated on something else. Like the thousands of different way she could approach him and drain him of his blood. It was a good way to keep her mind off of him anyway. To keep her from smelling his blood. Just thinking about all the different ways calmed her down and kept her from attacking. |

She finally rose to the surface of the water and looked at him. Her voice was cold, and filled with anger..much like his used to be, before all of these things happened to him..and changed him. She did not even want to look at him, she looked away from him, not trying to even look in his eyes. No matter how soothing he tried to make his voice, or no matter how hard he tried to make it seem like he was nice now, the image of him still being a wrathful hateful seraph was still embedded in her brain. But that would be his mission for today, to get her to forget about all of that..to get her to forgive him. "..Valerie, I was wrong about you..and..I am here to sorry..y'know, extend a sincere apology for the way I treated you earlier." |

Valerie was still ringing out her hair and wasn't paying much attention when the last thing she had expected to hear came out of Shien-Zen's mouth. Apologize? Wrong about her? She looked up at him shocked but then let her face cloud over. This could possibly be a trick to gain her trust, maybe he had gotten smarter and realized the only way to kill her was by becoming her friend. Well she would not let him trick her that easily! "I don't believe you."She said turning her head away from him. "You treated me like scum simply because I'm a Vampire..."She said turning her head towards him again. "It's like me looking at you and saying, 'oh he's so great because he's a freaking angel dude.'" She stared at him her eyes cold and hard. "Even though you try to kill those who are only trying to survive!"She said glaring at him. She shook her head and turned her back on him. "I don't want to hear you're fake apology!"She said crossing her arms across her chest, her wavy hair already drying out and becoming frizzy again. "You'd have to actually prove you meant it before I'd even go near you!"She said over her shoulder. |

The old Shien-Zen would have immediately attempted to destroy her! In his head he would have thought, 'How dare she not accept my apology! Who is she to deny me?!' But, now, he had actually..matured. He put his pride aside, he HAD to make it up to her somehow. Well, technically he did not have to, but he felt so bad and so horrible for treating her the way that he did, that he felt he had to apologize. He floated back a few feat, and his wings spread, glowing to keep him levitated. He knelt like he was on one knee, as if he was on an invisible platform, and he bowed her head to her. If this did not work, then surely nothing would. "..Please, Valerie...forgive me." |

Valerie glared ahead of her and when he spoke she turned and saw him on one knee. She stared at him for a second before a small smirk flashed across her face. "You are no different then before Angel."She said her arms still crossed across her chest. "Is all you care about yourself? Have you ever thought about how you treated me affected MY life?" She asked staring at him. "I'm not going to give into you so easily."She said shaking her head. "not that easily that's for sure."She turned her back on him again purposely. His apologies were starting to annoy her. He actually thought that after everything he had done, she would just accept his apology and be friends? Sure he might have helped her with Andro. But he had also set a Dragon on her! Who, she had to remember, had burned her arm, which was still painful to the touch. She shook her head silently for a moment. "You're going to have to work harder than that to get me to trust you."She said turning to stare at him again. |

His bow, did not work. She was still as cold as ever toward him. He glared downward, he was losing AGAIN..he was tired of losing these mental battles. He just apologized to her, fell to a knee in front of her, yet she still did not want to forgive him. Something Shien-Zen was not good at was giving up; calling it quits. He would not allow her to leave his presence until she finally accepted his apology and understood that he was sorry, and he really meant it. "I am an angel..I cannot purposely tell a lie. If I were to lie, I would be struck down right before you." His sentence became more drowned out, his voice tightening up and his eyes watering a little. No, not again..why was he so weak all of a sudden? What Freya said to him really affected him more than he would like to admit! Maybe he hadn't recovered completely, and he was just trying to regain composure so she would not think he was weak..though mentally he was still damaged and confused. |

Valerie spun around on the spot. "You don't get it!"She said walking up to him and staring him in the face. "Sure, it hurts you to hear me say I don't accept you're apology!"She said staring at him hard. "But imagine for a second, you live a normal life with you're family, you're prefectly happy! Then you get bitten! You become one of the things that you hate more than anything else in this world! And the only thing you can think to do is to survive." She said glaring at him her jaw firm. "You kill to survive, you're only purpose in life is to kill the thing that killed you! Even though it might be to late for all you know!"She said her fists clenching. "Then someone comes along, and says you're evil, that you're worthless. Like you didn't know that yourself already! They say you deserve to die, because all you want to do is avenge you're family!"She said tears starting to leak down her face. "They killed my family."She said taking a few steps away from him. "The monster that turned me, killed my family...it's the only thing that keeps me going, is knowing that I have to avenge them. But the world yells me down, tells me that I am the monster, that I don't deserve to live. And I know I don't! I don't deserve to even bem talking to you! I'm a killer! A monster! And people act like I don't know that already!"She said taking a few more steps away from him. "You've had it good, you get to be an angel, you're blessed before you even knew what you were..."She said tears continuing to fall down her face. "Sure you made some mistakes...but you don't have to fight daily to stay alive, to fight the people who hate you more than the dirt on their boots..you don't know what it's like!"She shouted at him. "And I understand your pain!" He stood up, standing up completely as his wings spread completely. He folded his arms to look at her, giving her a gaze of burning compassion, the type of gaze someone could only display if they really cared about the situation at hand. The sudden movement of his wings created rippled across the water, and a weak breeze of wind. "Before not too long ago..I used to hate myself as well. I felt I could never be happy..that I could never smile, or enjoy myself. I felt I only had one purpose, and that was to punish, and kill evil people. So that is what I did! I fought endlessly..showed no mercy to anyone for anything. You think it is so easy to be an angel..so easy to have an unachievable goal..to be perfect, but know that you cannot." His wings relaxed behind him...it appeared the only way she would know that he really understood her is if he showed her that he was going through something similar. "So while I have judged you incorrectly..you have also judged me incorrectly, in your own way. And I forgive you, we did not know much about each others race. But..now we do." He looked her directly into her eyes. "Can you not do the same?!" |

Valerie glared at him silently. She wanted to hate him so badly. He was an angel! He had everything he wanted. His only bad thing was that he had to be perfect! Big deal, just say I can't be and blow it off! If that was her expectation she would love it. But people expected her to be evil, and she didn't want to. Though she wanted to hate him..at the same time she wanted to accept his apology. She wanted to really badly. They both had bad expectations, they both had a lot more in common than she could ever admit. Wiping the tears off her face she kept her eyes on his her jaw firm. Her now almost dry hair making her face look wild, her eyes dark black with a tint of red. "What made you change you're mind about me?"She asked softly. "Why do you suddenly trust me?"She asked. She needed to know before she would accept his apology. |

Finally, it seemed as if she had finally put her gaurd down around him, and started to accept what he was saying as truth, which it was. He lowered himself just a little so he would be standing in front of her..and then decided he would just stand in front of her, with is feet just grazing the water. He figured it would help to put himself more on her actual level, so he would not think he was looking down at her. Cause he was not, he was treating her as an equal. She deserved his apology, and he kneeled his head to her. "Because..I was wrong for assuming you feast on the innocents..you have the same purpose as me. And a..friend of mine, she showed me the error in my ways. I was filled with anger and nothing else..but not anymore." He looked up into her eyes, "Please...accept my apology." |

Valerie took a big long deep breath. She closed her eyes for a moment and counted to ten silently in her head. He had come down in front of her over the water, even though there was plenty of room on the island for him to stand. She wanted to punch him in the face so badly right now. Her hands even clenched into fists. She kept her eyes closed counting up higher trying to even her breathing. Why did she suddenly feel so angry? Why was she suddenly feeling violent? Why was his blood alluring her even more than it should seeing as she was full. Every time he said Apology she wanted to bite him. Make him see how it felt to be on the top of the world and then fall. Fall down hard. Keeping her eyes shut she pulled her arms around her stomach. Crossing and hanging onto her hips, like she was hugging herself. She slowly opened her eyes and stared at him. Felt the blood lust and closed them again quickly. Rummaging in her pocket she pulled out her canteen and took a long drought from it. "I don't think you should trust me Shien-Zen..because, the reason I'm so angry with you..is because you were right."She said her hands shaking as she held the canteen. She put the stopper on it and looked up at him. "I am just a killer...I don't know why I keep pushing that away from me...You were right in the first place about me..which is why I can't accept you're apology."She said her hands shaking noticeably now. "I try my hardest to not kill innocents, but I do! Sometimes there just aren't enough criminals in the world, or I go days without eating, and lose control."She said tears sliding down her cheeks again. "It's then that I can't stop myself, just like now you're angelic blood lures me...even though it would cause my death."She said taking another step back. "Reason I'm here is to fill myself, plenty of helpless souls for a Vampire to gorge on."She said closing her eyes tightly the tears falling down her cheeks. "you were right about me..I am just a mindless, feasting Vampire, and I don't deserve you're apology, any more than I deserve.."She stopped, gulped and said it aloud for the first time. "Ninshi's love."She said her voice shaking. "Yeah..I do love..I love someone a lot, his name is Ninshi."She said still shaking. "I don't deserve him though, I tried to tell him that, we got in a fight and I didn't see him for a long time..but I love him!"She said opening her eyes and pleading with him. "I'm a monster..but I still love, I still feel. People don't realize that!"She said clasping her hands in front of her looking up at him. "But I don't deserve to love! Or be loved, I deserve to just be taken out of the world!"She said her shoulder shaking with sobs now. "So...just kill me now! I don't deserve you're kindness for forgiving me! I don't deserve any kindness or compassion at all, especially Ninshi's." She fell to her knees sobbing. [OOC: Please don't kill her XD She's just being dramatic] |

Now she has contradicted herself. Earlier with their encounter with Andromalius, she told him that she kills bandits and that they were fighting on the same side. And now, she tells him different? She tells him that she kills innocent people..a confession! Tells him she cannot be trusted, but yet she does not have the feelings of a monster, and that she loves a human man..this Ninshi she speaks of. As if his mind wasn't already messed with enough, she then asked her to kill him! He could feel the anger swelling up inside of him yet again, something he had to fight within himself to stop himself from losing his mind. "....So, you admit to killing innocents and you admit that you deserve death. I, on the otherhand, think differently of you. It is not your fault you are this way, however, you must repent for all of the innocent people that you have murdered in your time." |

Valerie looked up at him tears still falling down her face. "How?"She asked watching him carefully. "how do I repent?"She asked moving forward on her knees to look up at him. "Please, tell me how!"She said sobbing. "I can't do this alone! I'm not made to be a Vampire! I'm not made to kill people! I can barely think for myself! I'm dumb, and I don't know how to fix it!"She said looking up at him tears falling down her face. Struggling to her feet she looked at him pleadingly. "Why was it before..that you would have killed me right on the spot for saying that...but now..now you are helping me live!"She said looking at him. "I can't be purified, I'm a creature of the night, I can't be bathed in holy water, I'll die!"She said looking at him tearfully. "How will you help me? Without killing me?!" |

He put his hands on her shoulders and looked into her eyes. She was talking nonsense now..they both knew she was not dumb, she was just hysterical or scared, he thought to himsef watching her fall into her knees and cry in front of him. He hated to see someone upset, and not know what to do. "To repent is to feel regret; not delight in what you do..similar to self punishment. But..you seem to already do that, much like the other vampire..Nicholaus. But you cannot just say you feel bad, or say you regret what you have done..you have to show it in your actions." He tried to pull her to her feet, "Furthrmore, Nicholaus also showed me that a vampire does not need to drink ALL of the blood from a single human..maybe you should practice that so every person you feed off of will not die." |

Valerie got to her feet slowly tears still falling down her face. "But how do I show it?!"She asked staring up at him. "I don't get it!"She said shaking her head letting him hold onto her shoulders. "But.."She said slowly looking up at him as he explained about Nicholaus, but what if they turn into Vampires?"She asked staring at him hard. "I don't know how I got turned, but whatever that Vampire did, it left me alive long enough to turn me into one!"She said staring at him. "I don't know if I can NOT turn someone into one of..me!"She said shaking her head again not looking him in the eyes. "I'm afraid if I leave them alive..then they'll become a Vampire."She said her hands shaking as she brought her hands to her face to wipe her tears. |

He sighed to himself, she was right, and his hands dropped from her shoulders. His fists clenched at his side and his aura shot up all around his body. His wings relaxed, however, this was making him angry..again. Cause she was telling the truth, and now he thought of her like he used to..just another mistake. His eyes closed, and the anger could be seen on his face. "But it is not your fault.." He said to himself, out loud, about her situation. So he did not know what to do. "Repent also includes not comittting the act again..but you do not have a choice, do you?..DO YOU?!" He pointed to her again, now his eyes were glowing whitely. This was what he did not want to happen..the anger had resurfaced once again. "You do not have a choice in wether to kill or not, you so therefore, you cannot repent. Would it not be better to just kill yourself to avoid the harm of others? Are are you too selfish for that and only care about your survival?!" His body slowly floated up in the air again, and away from her..yes, his anger, his rage had return. |

Valerie watched him get angry again. She stumbled backwards away from his rising figure. She didn't want this to happen. "Wouldn't you do that same thing!?"She sobbed looking at him. "My parents DIED because of people like me! All I want to do is kill the one that killed them, then I'll let myself die! That's it!"She sobbed falling away from him. He looked so angry. He had tried to apologize...and now he was getting angry again. He wasn't a very good Angel. Wasn't he supposed to have a cure for all sorts of problems, from the little ones to the small ones? But here he was, basically saying the same thing as Andromalius said all the time. "You're pathetic Maggot Feed" She knew she was. Then she stood up straight holding her head high, tears still falling down her face. "Yes.."She said loudly and firmly. "YES I AM SELFISH!"She yelled at him. "I am seflish! I want to live! Is that a bad thing?!"She yelled angrily her fists clenched. "I am a selfish person and I hate that people feel the need to CONSTANTLY remind me of that! What kind of angel are you?!"She yelled at him tears falling quicker. |

He listened to her plea, and watched her cry, it reminded him of what he was supposed to be doing. He isn't a God, he doesn't have the cure for every single thing, but he has the next best thing; which was advice..or so he thought. "NO I would NOT do the same.." He moved his hand across himself, like he was smacking something in front of him to the side. "If I were in yuor position, I would realize I am a danger to anyone and everyone around me and destroy myself. But you do not care about that..all you care about is getting your revenge! Why did that vampire choose YOU as a target? What did you do?" He let his anger take over again. It was no longer about him being too prideful or him being stuck up, now he was just enraged. He pointed to her once more when she asked what kind of angel he was. "An angel that is letting you make your own decision. If I was as bad as you think I am, you would be dead..right now." |

What if I played you this entire time, played the snivveling child like I can do so well huh?"She said glaring at him. Without another word she fell backwards. Landing in the murky waters behind her, the creatures of the deep grabbed her around the arms and pulled her down. Protecting her from the light of good that was Shien-Zen. She had decided right now. She would no longer be pathetic. She would no longer be nice, or even worried about who she killed. She would kill!! For the fun of it. |

His aura disappeared and his wings relaxed at amazement..he was lied to this whole time. This whole time she was playing him for a fool! He hated her..hated her so very much and would kill her if she did not just disappear from in front of his eyes and into the water. He was right the first time! She just decieved him into thinking she was an actual good person who deserved his mercy. But she was not..now he had to rely on his own abilities, though it was odd..if she said she was bad but her alignment was good. It did not matter..she was a fool, and he would kill her next time he saw her, right on the spot. Everything Freya said to him was just erased by the vampire who he tried to help. He was the light of good, he had to be..cause no one else is. He turned away from the swamp, and he blasted into the air, soaring away like a missile. But then again..maybe everyone is not like her. |
