Valerie stared at the entrance. What was she doing here? She didn't exactly know. But here she was, sitting with Drium outside a musty old cave. She wasn't smiling, wasn't talking. Just staring. Standing up finally she glanced back at Drium. He seemed angry. She wondered what had happened during that battle that had made him so...angry. Sighing angrily she turned around. "Ain't gonna get anywhere by just sitting there."She muttered angrily. She wasn't very happy with Drium either. He had left her...Andro had just picked her up, slapped her around, and kicked her in the stomach! And he had left! Sure he had left BEFORE that...but the fact is. Andro hated her, and she had been left alone with three possible enemies. Of course the Dragon hadn't been a bad enemy. Oh well. Staring ahead she kept her hands to her sides, barely swinging them. She kept her eyes on the entrance, glancing at the sky out of the corner of her eye to make sure the sun didn't come up any time soon. She didn't even know why she was here. 'Exploring' She glared ahead and made it to the entrance of the prison. She spun around and stared at the distance she just walked. "you coming?"She asked over the sound of the wind. "Or are you just going to sit there?" She growled and without waiting turned around and walked in. Edited by Valerie Strong, Jul 3 2009, 12:25 AM.

The silence and tension between the two of them was intense and neither of the two of them seemed ready to actually speak. He wasn’t looking at her, his brow furrowed as his light eyes stared straight ahead. The thief could feel the vampire’s eyes on him, but he didn’t feel like responding just now. He needed a little bit of time to really gather himself and what he wanted to say without exploding. Though the thought of simply overpowering her with his rage was very tempting, he knew that wouldn’t get the end result he wanted; it would only foster her poor, innocent, defenseless charade. He heard her speak, but didn’t respond though he did flick a cold gaze in her direction. After some more time of ignoring Valerie’s presence, he heard her speak to him once more. It was his time to sigh then and slowly he stood to his feet, turning in her direction, watching as she began towards the entrance of the jail. Drium shook his head, mind going through various things to say or do. Something finally clicked and he growled before moving to catch up with Valerie; soon walking beside her. ”You did really bad back there, ya know…. Even if he would’ve been able to kill you, you’re supposed to not show fear and stand up against him.” |

Valerie wasn't paying attention until Drium was standing next to her. She jumped slightly and glanced at him her face blank. "I don't want to talk about what happened back there."She said looking forward again. "I was just trying to help you."She said her lips pursed looking thoroughly angry. "Not to mention you wouldn't stop attacking Shien! How was I going to get away? You injured Shien, I smelt the blood, not to mention I have a weakness for Dragon blood, and Dragon was also bleeding!"She said angrily not looking at him. She huffed angrily and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Then you just...ran away."She growled her voice low and dangerous. "What was up with that eh? Just leaving me alone with three potential enemies?" She turned to finally look at him her eyes flashing dangerously. "I could have died."She said her hands falling away from herself her fangs bared. |

“Maybe you were trying, but you sure weren’t accomplishing much.” He told her bluntly without a hint of annoyance in his voice. To Drium, Valerie hadn’t actually contributed anything to the fight itself. Well, other than being a minor distraction. Really he thought that if she hadn’t fulfilled that duty, things would have gone more in his favor. The demon scoffed when she went on about how he wouldn’t stop attacking Shien-Zen. With a roll of his eyes, he more or less growled out, “You expect me to not attempt to kill an angel?” The thought was ridiculous to him and he couldn’t understand the logic behind it, nor would he try. “I’m a demon, Valerie. I am going to kill that angel one day. There will be no trying, there will be no making friends, there will be no mercy and there will definitely be no stopping me.” His eyes were narrowed and darkened when he said this with the intent to make the female vampire understand fully that he was completely serious and focused in this endeavor. With a sigh, he corrected Valerie’s assumption, the serious tone lingering in his voice.. “I didn’t run away. I grew bored and calming made an exit.” The demon then raised an eyebrow after explaining himself. With a hard stare he focused on Valerie until she finished speaking. It was clear that he wasn’t really angry anymore, instead just kind of apathetic towards everything though he did want to clear the air. Drium wasn’t intimidated by the display of fangs either and was in fact fairly amused by the show of them, evidenced by the small grin that appeared on his lips. His next few words were spoken rather coolly. “For someone who ‘could have’ died, you sure look plenty alive to me.” Briefly he paused before shaking his head and cutting his eyes to the side. “As alive as a vampire can possibly look anyway.” Of course he realized that the conversation was kind of heavy and that blame and other things were sure to be thrown around eventually, so he thought over what to say next before actually speaking. “Why didn’t you just drink from the dragon? It would have made you stronger.” |

Valerie's jaw tightened as he talked. "So what you don't need friends? You're just a demon?"She said glaring at him. She moved so that she was standing in front of him so that he was forced to a stop. "I want to be you're friend Drium."She said her jaw hard staring at him hard. She was now standing in the entrance to the prison, her back to it. "Just because you're a Demon..doesn't mean you have to go without friends."She said her chin puckered like tears were coming, but nothing came out. "I don't understand it Drium, I really don't."She said glaring at him hard. "Yeah, so I suck at fighting.."She said moving her head slightly at her words. "And yeah, I'm a vampire.."She said glaring at him hard. She didn't understand him. He was so determined to kill Shien. So determined to strike him down. She spun around without another word and tore off into the prison, disappearing into the darkness of it. "Well are you coming or what? This was you're idea in the first place." Her voice sounded from in the prison but even her pale skin was stifled by the darkness within. She stood off to the side waiting for him to enter. |

To be honest a part of him felt that he did, in fact not need friends. He didn’t say anything in response to that however and instead opted to just stare at her. He was just a demon actually; one who had made, what some of his kin had deemed, a very stupid decision and turned away from the glorious road to infamy he had been forging for himself. He sucked his teeth then, just as he was about to run into Valerie when she stopped suddenly in front of him. Drium heard her words, but they weren’t really registering in his head; what she wanted wasn’t important, not right now anyway. Drium opened his mouth to say a rebuttal, but held back, instead just watching her, waiting for the waterworks to appear and being a little surprised when they did not. For a while he was completely silent and instead just followed her briskly when she asked if he was coming. The darkness that loomed inside the prison didn’t bother him, actually seeming more like a comfort as he headed inside. Before they had walked more than twenty or so paces, he stopped, finally finding his voice as he cleared his throat. ”Ya know, if you had shown this kind of attitude back in the plains, we wouldn’t even be having this issue. Next time someone is messing with you, just channel whatever you’re feeling now and just let them have it.” He paused for a moment before continuing. ”And you didn’t answer my question. You would have been so much more helpful if you had made use of the buffet that had been spread out before you back there too.” |

Valerie stood in front of a cell staring at Drium her arms cross. He had just stared her, not said a word, just stared. Man he made her so angry! He said something about channeling her anger. How was she supposed to do that when he was the only one who made her angry?! Maybe she should just think of him next time she was in a tight spot and she'd be a better fighter. "A buffet?" She gaped her mouth hanging open. "I would NOT make people a buffet just because they are in my way!"She hissed glaring at him taking a step towards him. "Just because they could hurt me..Besides! Shien-Zen has holy blood, that would kill me!"She said glaring at him. "Dragon blood is good, but he'd kick me before I got any out of him! And Andro..."She shook her head. "There would be no point, he'd have me on the ground before I could say opps!"She said glaring at him. "I didn't have a CHANCE! Not one."She said and poked in him the chest, hard. She glared at him her eyes lit up with anger. He just didn't get it! Just because he was a big tough guy. "And I didn't see you getting very far in you're fight with Shien, he pushed you off without even trying! Even though you were hacking away at him!"She said smirking and taking a step back from him. "not a very good demon are ya?" |

Drium looked at Valerie with a perplexed expression. “Yeah… A buffet…” He repeated, not understanding what the big issue was. She was a vampire, he didn’t understand why she seemed to adamant about not jumping at the chance to score a free meal. Hell, if he had been in her situation, he would’ve drained the fallen lizard dry; or at least attempted to. He shook his head at her. “You should at least try.” He sighed when she poked his chest, not budging an inch, the cold fingertip feeling strange against his skin. “Even if it looks futile, you’ll never know your own limits if you don’t try to do something.” Drium figured that he was at least trying to calm the situation. He had been keeping his voice fairly even and without even a trace of anger, not to mention he was trying to not show his discontent on his face. The demon was under the assumption that if he kept himself in check and fairly calm and collected that eventually Valerie would calm down too and not be so angry. Of course that all went out the window when Valerie mentioned the fight with Shien. The demon’s eyes flickered with aggression. Whether she knew it or not, which he assumed she did, the vampire had hit a nerve with her comment. He actually growled as she continued, smirking at him as if she had made some great earth shattering point. Her final question was the last straw it seemed and before she had even finished, he rushed her. With a hand placed firmly around her throat, the other prickling at his side, he pushed her up against the side wall, just a few inches off the ground. It took the absolute last of his restraint not to pull his dagger and shove it into her gut. There was a fire burning in his eyes and his own fangs were bared as he growled at her. “Don’t make me hurt you, Valerie… Don’t… Do it…” The last fragment of a sentence seemed to be aimed at himself as much as it was aimed at the vampire and he lowered her, slightly, but without letting go. He wanted to just move on and discuss things without either of them flying off the handle, but that would only work if she kept from trying to push his buttons. |

Valerie glared at him. "If I had done that I wouldn't have made any new friends."She said shaking her head. Then suddenly she was up against the wall, her feet dangling. Her hands flew up to her neck trying to pull his fingers off. She didn't look scared though. She simply stared at him, her eyes cold. "So what.."She gasped for air. "You think just because you are a demon means you think you can kill a Vampire? Normal daggers won't kill me you know."She said gasping for air. "I can hold my breath for longer than normal too."She said staring at him angrily. She felt herself fall a few more inches, but her feet were still hovering off the ground. "Are you afraid to hurt me now?"She asked laughing dryly, her voice catching in her throat. "Do it then! You couldn't even hurt the stupid angel!"She said glaring at him. "What makes you think you can hurt a Vampire?"She asked her hands still up around his hands trying to make room for air to get down her throat. |

Ninshi was just walking through the area when he saw the entrance to the cave. He decided it was time for a break, and he made his way to the entrance. What a surprise! Valerie was up against the wall, Drium holding her by the neck in a threatening way. His eyes thinned, how dare he.. He knew Valerie wouldn't do anything to deserve that. The swordsmaster begin to walk forward, grabbing for the handle of one of his swords. His footsteps were almost stomps, "I told you, Valerie. I told you that you can't trust him." He unsheathed it, pointing at Drium with the sword, holding it with one of his hands. He, himself, knew that if Drium so much as reached for the dagger, that he was fast enough to make it over there and decapitate him. He was ready to do so, definitely. He would go above and beyond to protect her from Drium. "You let her go, demon. Or I'll have your body split into 6 pieces.." |

“Ew, you made friends with them?” He asked disgusted, easily able to keep her hands from prying his fingers away. The more she talked; her idiotic reasoning, her very misguided thoughts on what he could or could not do to her was pissing him off, and not just because she was all wrong. He might not have known much about vampires when he first met her, but the demon had done a lot of research regarding their strengths and weaknesses; what they could resist, what they could not, how to kill them. Mostly it was all so that he could help her train in the areas she needed work in, but if she wanted to bite the hand that fed her, he could very well use his knowledge to cause her to suffer. In response to her continued prodding, he couldn’t help but squeeze his fist tighter around her throat. Regardless of whether or not she could breathe, he knew that his actions were causing her discomfort and that was enough for him. “You wanna play that game Valerie?” He growled at her, his anger rising, though a sadistic grin now spread across his face as his voice grew much darker. “Let’s play…” Without any hesitation, his dagger was pulled from his side, the blade suddenly enchanted with the most unlikely of elements for a demon to make use of: light. He snickered when he did that, sure that the vampire would be surprise by his enchantment, though deciding not to explain his use of it to her. Taking his time, he stabbed her three times in the stomach, the serrated edge of his blade ripping at her flesh each time he pulled the weapon from her. On the third stab, he twisted the blade inside of her, letting the light enchanted weapon linger for a little as he watched her expression with narrowed eyes. “How does that feel?” With an uncaring jerk of his arm, he yanked the blade away, letting his arm fall to the side as he grinned toothily at her. “Eh?” His ears twitched. “A visitor….” Drium was aware of the human’s approach before he was even within eyesight; the sound of his footsteps against the stone easily being picked up by his sensitive feline ears. When Ninshi approached, he was still holding the battered vampire against the wall though he was now just looking at Ninshi. This was a bad time for the human boy to stumble upon the demon. Lately, nearly everyone he had run into had annoyed the hell out of him and now Valerie had pushed him to the point of wanting to make her suffer. Drium said nothing to the swordsman when he made his threats, instead just smirking and shaking his head. He knew the guy was fast, but he could react in kind when pushed to that point; which he was currently. Almost instantly he nonchalantly willed the voices to start worming their way into both Valerie’s and Ninshi’s minds. If she wanted to see what he could do to her, he’d show her the only way he knew how; by turning everyone around her against her and vice versa. She was sad and alone when he found her and she’d be sad and alone when he was done with her. “You want to protect a vampire?” He asked incredulously as the whispers continued, growing louder, speaking of Wrath and Envy to both of them. For Valerie, the whispers hinted that focus and cause of all the negativity was Ninshi, while for Ninshi it was Valerie. |

Valerie glared at him feeling his fingers get tighter around his stomach. Then he pulled out his blade again, and she saw the light that was on it. "no!"She growled angrily, but then, slowly he pushed that dagger into her stomach. She gasped in pain, feeling it go in three times. It tore at her skin, the light irritated it beyond belief and she cried out in pain. Her eyes fogged over when the last time he twisted the dagger in and sat there, the light enchantment making it hurt more than anything else. She gasped loudly her head falling over his hand, her hands still gripping his hand. She sat like that for a long moment the pain running through her body. Then she heard a voice. A very familiar voice. She gasped when she saw who it was. Ninshi..she had to be dreaming. But then the voices started up. Whispering about how it was Ninshi's fault. Everything was, it always was! She had forced him away and he came back again! Stupid idiot! The dance had proven that he had made fun of her, making her believe she was special. "Get..get out of here Ninshi."She whispered filling her voice with as much hatred as possible. "I'm..I'm fine on my own."She said struggling to get down and kicking out at Drium in hopes of getting him to let her go. Her foot heading in the direction of his stomach. "I SAID GET OUT OF HERE NINSHI!"She yelled more in fear then hatred. She didn't want Drium to go after him to. She wouldn't be able to live if that happened. Even if it meant making Ninshi hate her...she had to save him. If he was alive, she was happy. "I hate you Ninshi! I can't believe you believed that I could actually love someone!"She said laughing cruelly, her eyes glinting red, her foot placed against Drium's stomach. "I've fooled you all!"She said her eyes on Ninshi's. "Laughs for me eh?"She said gasping for air, the pain still running through her body. But in her mind she was sobbing. "Oh Ninshi, my love, I'm sorry! But I have to save you! If you stay any longer than Drium will kill you, please, do not hate me to badly. If only you could hear what is going on in my head! I love you Ninshi! I am so sorry!" It sobbed. She struggled to breath hoping she could actually take care of herself. |

He took more steps foward, actually preparing to attack. It was then that Drium poked her stomach with the enchanted balde. Ninshi reached out when she saw her in pain, and took a step forward. It was then that her voice reached her ears. It was filled with anger. But why would she be mad at him? He thought that they patched things up at the dance, but what was going on in front of him..showed otherwise. Drium must be doing some sort of mind trick, he thought. He shook his head, there was no way that she could hate him after that dance. He stepped forward once more, and she shouted to him to get out! Then the heart breaker..she told him she hated him! His knees felt weak and he stumbled backward on his bottom. It was obvious that it was too late..the swordmaster had lost her to the evil demon. If he jumped in and tried to save her, they might both end up attacking him, he thought. And there was no way he could bring himself to hurt Valerie. He let out a heavy sigh, using his sword to help him rise to his feet. "F-Fine!!" He turned around, running as fast as he possibly could out of the cave. He had to get out of there before she or Drium so him crying. It only took him a few seconds to escape, and be out of sight. Ninshi was a broken Swordmaster. What's the point in being a self sacrificing hero when no one believes in you? |

To be honest, Drium didn’t take any pleasure in harming Valerie the way he was. He would much rather it was that stupid angel in her place and not the girl he was attempting to teach. However, he knew that he had to teach her a lesson; she couldn’t just get away for speaking to him like that. His pride simply wouldn’t allow it. He knew he was having an effect on her when she started speaking to Ninshi, attempting to sound as if she really hated him. Drium wasn’t fooled, but that didn’t matter, as long as the human left, or died, he’d be alright with her actions. She kicked at him, her foot hitting him in the stomach, but he didn’t budge, instead just taking the abuse. He was tempted to tell her to stop before he cut her legs off, but figured that was too much to do to someone he didn’t particularly dislike. The entire time Drium watched the human, seeing him continue to step forward as if he was actually going to do something to save the day. “Not this time…” He muttered to himself as Ninshi fell on his backside. The look on the human’s face caused a sadistic grin to appear on Drium’s own. Oh how he wished he could frame that expression; that look of complete devastation, and keep it with him forever. It sent pleasant shivers down his spine. He smirked to himself as the swordsman ran out of the cave, his voice cracking. When it was all said and done, Drium turned to Valerie, smirking at her as well. “Nice going.” He commented before roughly swinging his arm to the side and sending the girl flying down the hallway and subsequently towards the stone stairs that led deeper into the prison. He hoped that his display of violence would be enough for Valerie to just shut up and listen to him. Hurting her wasn’t something he wanted to do, though he didn’t know why, but he would if he felt that she kept forcing him to. |

Valerie stared after Ninshi looking devastated. He had..run away. And she couldn't do a thing. Not a thing. She struggled and looked at him angrily. He complimented her! Then she felt herself flying through the air. She yelled out hitting the ground hard, rolling, and falling down the short flight of steps. She fell down and landed in a heap on the ground. She lay in what felt like a bit of water from the last rain. It smelt horrible, and tasted even grosser because it had gotten into her mouth. She grunted trying to get to her feet and slipping on the slippery ground beneath her. She fell back to the ground, the wound to her stomach pained her worse now that she was moving. It felt like a hole..in the middle of her stomach. More then one hole, three holes. She stumbled to her feet now and looked around at the musty cells around her. It was dark, damp and smelt nasty. She looked around and up to where she could see Drium outlined. "What.."She said her hands shaking hard. "What do you think you are doing?!"She yelled at him. "That was Ninshi!"She said slipping again and falling to her knees. "Drium what happened to the person I thought was my friend!"She said glaring up towards him. "I used to trust you!"She said standing in the puddle her clothes wet and now smelt like the bad water she had landed in. She doubled over feeling the pain in her stomach hit her like a train. She fell to her knees clutching her stomach. "You.."She gasped out her hands around her stomach doubled over in pain. "I...you..how could you?!"She said looking up at him, small tears falling down her cheeks. "You are enjoying this aren't you?!"She said glaring at him. "I can NOT believe you!"She said shivering in pain and fear of what else he would do to her while she was wounded. |

After Valerie took the tumble down the small flight, Drium casually walked over to the edge of the stairs and stood at the top, staring down at the vampire coldly. He watched her struggle on the ground without even a hint of regret or sympathy, his entire being just giving off an air of apathy. He listened to her for only a moment before tuning out the sound of her voice. She should know by now that he didn’t give a damn about Ninshi. She should also know that he wouldn’t hold himself back from putting her in her place either; Drium was the one in charge here and if she was going to continue to agitate him, he would just have to beat the resistance out of her. “Shut up, Valerie.” He commanded curtly, his voice sounding uncharacteristically gruff and demanding, an overwhelming sense of impending violence lacing his words. It echoed through the cavern, allowing him to speak without raising his voice while retaining an imposing attribute. “One more word and I’ll carve that face of yours to beyond recognition.” He threatened, a part of him kind of hoping that she was dumb enough to make him actually do it. ”Think you’re a monster now? Test my patience again and I’ll give you the appearance to match your feelings.” He let that set in for a moment before moving sit down on the topmost steps. Drium leaned forward resting his arms on his knees and holding his still light enchanted daggers between his legs. His rust colored eyes were locked on the female, burning with violent intensity. “This is your own fault.” He told her bluntly, staring at her without blinking. “I told you to drop it, but you just kept pushing and now you the audacity to act like I’m wrong for reacting.” Drium scoffed before continuing. ”I am here to help you, Valerie, but I will not tolerate your bullshit. If you want to become stronger I’ll be glad to help, but you’ll have to listen to me. However, if you want to make an enemy out of me…” A sadistic fang filled grin crossed his lips, his eyes narrowing. ”Then I’ll take full pleasure on killing everyone you care about before crushing you and leaving your broken body in the town center for the sun to take care of.” Again he paused, letting that all sink in before sighing softly, his voice returning to normal. ”Now you may speak.” |

His voice echoed through the prison loudly, hurting her ears. She sat on her knees looking up at him her hands around her stomach. She listened to him talk her body trembling. She felt her gaze fall and she stared at the floor in front of her wincing every so often from the loudness, the imagery she was getting from his words. Her body torn, and broken sitting in the sun, people laughing and cheering for Drium who had killed her. The burning pain of the sun slowly and tortuously killing her. She whimpered softly and looked back up at him. Rage burned in her very being. He could hurt her all he wanted, but if he hurt her friends. "What makes you think I want you for my teacher anymore Drium?"She snarled baring her fangs at him and stumbling to her feet holding her stomach. She may not be able to die from such a wound, but it sure hurt. Her own fault he had said. Her own fault, well he was right about that. She had been stupid and egged him on. But he had brought up her friends. She set her face hard and thought of something she could do to act it out. "Drium, you really think I have friends?"She asked her voice cold and hard, unwavering. "I've abandoned them all, they are NOTHING to me now!"She said her voice echoing all around. "You can't hurt me that way anymore, in fact I'd help you kill them, they are nothing but a bunch of cowards, I should have killed them when I had the chance, but I didn't realize how much they disgusted me until after that stupid fight."She lied staring him in the face her eyes locked on his. She had to play this right though, or she might end up actually killing her friends. "Drium, I don't want you for my teacher, I know enough now, It's easier for me to control my bloodlust, I can fight better, and I'm quicker with my killing, that is all I need to know."She said her eyes dark. Pain rippled through her body and she gasped slightly doubling over. It would take a lot of blood to heal that wound. She knew the only way to heal it was to drink Human blood too, or else it'd stay there for eternity. She'd have to find a guard somewhere. But for now she kept her eyes on Drium's fury pouring out of them. Had she been able to she would have breathed fire, like Drake. Oh Drake, the poor guy. She kept her face hard, thinking of no one but herself for now. "Go away Drium."She hissed taking a few short breaths through her nose. Edited by Valerie Strong, Jul 8 2009, 12:42 PM.

Valerie was a terrible liar; so much so that Drium actually cringed whenever she talked. He didn’t say anything in response to her lies though, instead just thinking that it was another issue added to the list of things she needed to work on. If she was going to lie to him, she would have to at least lie about something that she didn’t just say or display as truth less than hour prior. His eyes closed lightly when she told him she didn’t need him as her teacher anymore. How terribly wrong she was, as was evident by everything that happened. If she really didn’t need him, she wouldn’t be in the pitiful situation she was in whimpering at the bottom of an abandoned prison staircase. If anything, she needed him more now than ever. Whether she knew it or not, he was still trying to toughen her up some. To Drium, the girl had only improved slightly since their last set of lessons in the city. He’d admit that she had grown a little, but at the same time she was still a sniveling little girl who couldn’t truly defend herself. Even now, she was only standing up to him because she knew him. If he were someone else who had no real intention on letting her leave here alive, he was sure that she would just be begging for her life. His ears twitched in her direction as she gasped and doubled over. Likely she didn’t know it, but he did, on some hidden level like having her around and wasn’t enjoying having to treat her so terribly. He sighed as she told him to go away. “I’m afraid I can’t do that, Valerie.” He stated dryly. “Whether you know it or not, you made a pact with me and the conditions of that pact have not been met.” He shook his head, finally opening his eyes to look at her again. “If you want me to go away, you must either finish your training.” |

Valerie gasped softly holding onto her stomach. "What pact? I do NOT remember making a pact with you!"She said glaring up at him. "All you said was you'd teach me..I didn't sign anything there was no pact!"She said forcing herself to her feet and taking a step towards him. There was no way she'd let him near her anymore. No way in Hell. He had his eyes closed and he didn't seem to care at all. He didn't care she was in pain! He didn't care that she was hurt..he didn't care about her, so why was he trying to help her?! It confused her, and sickened her. That someone could be that cruel. To just sit there on those stairs staring at her, while she doubled over in pain from the wound he DID HIMSELF. She fell onto her left knee but kept her head high, the light he had infused in that dagger was terrible. It was like being burned from the inside. The very tip of the dagger was worse, because the light seemed to have pooled there. Burning her stomach. She whimpered and fell onto her other knee. "Is there anything you can do about this damn dagger wound?"She cried out suddenly pounding her first on the ground. "I think it's trying to eat me alive."She cried out tears falling down her face. It was to much! She couldn't barely stand it! The pain felt like she was sitting in the sun, but the sun was inside of her. Working it's terrible magic against her body. "Or you could just kill me, get this pain over with."She said looking past him to the light of the day beyond. She wanted to just run out into it. But she thought of Ninshi, and Drake. She needed to stay here. She needed to. Whimpering she stayed in her position, one hand tucked around the wounds, the other hand sitting palm down on the ground. |

“I’m a demon, Valerie. All you have to do is agree with a long term suggestion and there you go.” He told her with a simple shrug of his shoulders. “When you agreed to have me as your teacher, you agreed to a pact.” Again he shrugged at her, his explanation complete. There was really no more to say about the matter as far as he was concerned. Though he was sure she was going to have questions and he would happily answer them if she asked. He looked at Valerie with a slightly sympathetic look in his eyes, noting the immense pain he had caused her. Drium didn’t really feel ad about what he had did, it wasn’t as if he just maliciously attacked her out the blue. On the contrary, he had warned her not to make him do that to her, but she persisted and forced his hand. Now she was going to have to suffer through the pain until a solution was come upon. “You wouldn’t even have those dagger wounds if you didn’t insist on being stupid and testing me.” He said to her plainly, beginning to stand up now. Making his way down the stairs, he stood a little bit away from Valerie, just watching her curiously. He wasn’t completely sure what to do for her; the prison was completely abandoned and there wasn’t a person around at all. The demon sighed. He had no intention of killing Valerie; he had charged himself with teaching how to be tougher after all and a pact was a pact. Drium couldn’t keep the grin from tugging at the corners of his mouth. If Ninshi was still here, he certainly would’ve made a good meal for the vampire. Drium hummed in thought, only just now dispelling the light from his daggers and putting one of them away. “I think the problem is because you don’t seem to understand that ‘I’m a demon’ thing I keep telling you about…. Maybe I could carry you to the nearest village or something…” |

He was a demon, that was his explanation. A pact was made the second they agreed to that?! If she had known THAT she would have never made the stupid deal. She stared at him her arms around her middle her fist on the floor. He actually looked kind of sorry for her. She wouldn't let that happen. Clenching her teeth she pulled herself to her feet. The pool of light in her stomach grew bigger every time her hand wavered from the entrance to the wound like it was sucking up the light from outside. She gasped in pain but kept her mouth shut otherwise. Her fault?! She thought back and then realized, yeah it was her fault, but this was a little extreme! Sticking daggers in her?! That was just crazy! She hissed in frustration her arm covering the holes in her stomach. It was almost to much, she stumbled and fell into a cage door, leaning against it she let a small cry of pain escape her lips. "I can't go outside right now Drium."She said gripping the bars of the cage. "The sun is out, how could you carry me anywhere?"She asked feeling her feet across the floor, her hands slipping down the cage bars. She lay on the floor of the prison, her hand covering her wound. She turned her face away from him staring into the depths of the prison. The sun from outside made her skin itch, and she could feel the heat of it. She stumbled to her feet and took a few steps towards the back of the prison. "I have to get away from the sun Drium."She hissed. "It's really bothering me."She said staggering down the hallway into the more secluded darkness that just got deeper as she went. |

He watched her as she pulled herself up, the action obviously causing her much discomfort. There was little he could do about that and simply looked at her with his head tilted slightly to the side as she hissed in pain. Normally he would probably clamor to help her and to make her feel like she was safe and ok, but her wounds weren’t inflicted by some random attacker. Since he was the one who had done this to her, and he felt truly justified by doing it, he didn’t really know if it would be appropriate to help her now. With a flick of his eyes away from her to the side, he shook himself, attempting to get rid of the awkward feeling that he prickling at him. Drium put his daggers away as she fell into a cage door and leaned against it, the sound causing him to look back at her. He nodded at her when she said she couldn’t go out because of the sunlight. Drium sucked his teeth as he scanned the darkened area for something to cover her with though his attempts were futile. She was moving away from him as he turned to look up the stairs back towards the entrance. He could very well just leave her here to die in the prison and the thought was very tempting, but he decided against it. With a roll of his eyes and a shake of his head he figured he might as well stick around for a bit longer. This could turn into a learning experience for her or something. “Come on.” He said before running towards her. Easily he scooped the lightweight vampire up in his hands, carrying her like a load of laundry in outstretched arms. It didn’t take long for him to carry her deeper into the prison where the sun couldn’t reach before stopping. Gently placing her on the ground against a cell, he sat down against the opposite wall and just watched her in silence. He didn’t know what to say at the moment and because of that he didn’t say anything, waiting for her to break the silence. |

Valerie was pretty much limping down the hall as best she could when he had picked her up and was taking her farther into the prison. She gasped and yelped with pain. When he set her down she collapsed, the pain overbearing. The light was pooling, it felt like it was burning her from the inside out, and she had no idea that could happen! Whimpering softly on the ground she used the bars of the cell behind her to lift herself up into a better position. He was staring at her, sitting, just staring. "What?"She asked glaring at him. She stared back, able to see perfectly fine in the dark, she was so used to it. She held onto her stomach and sucked in air through her teeth as she used one hand to straighten herself back up. Whimpering softly she sat up and looked at him. "Is there nothing you can do?"She whispered her head falling to the side her eyes partly closed. She lifted her head and laid her head back, resting her head between two bars and closing her eyes, her hand still covering the wounds on her stomach. "It feels like..it's burning me..from the inside."She whispered her legs stretching out straight her foot tapping his. She pursed her lips and pulled them up to her chest, putting her hands on her stomach and sitting like that in a defensive position. She could tell it was going to be a long day, she couldn't sleep with this type of pain burning her inside out. She would sit here, all day, waiting for the sun to go down, the pain burning. It seemed to just be getting worse too. Like usually you got used to pain after it's been there for a while, but the pain increased as she sat there. Moving her hands she looked down at it and let out a soft yelp putting her hands back over it. That hadn't helped at all! |

Drium thought for a moment, trying to come up with something that could help Valerie and take away the pain of the light damage. She was lucky that he didn’t do anything more; when he was angry, he had been tempted to cut out her tongue and stab her in the heart. That was something he was sure she would’ve been completely destroyed by. He drummed his fingers along the cold ground in thought for a remedy before something clicked in his head and his eyes brightened. There was no guarantee that what he was thinking would actually work, but seeing how the alternative was just to let her sit there and suffer, he figured it was worth a shot. Pulling a single dagger from his side, he moved, going on his hands and knees and crawling over to Valerie. He placed his hands on her legs and gingerly pulled her legs away from her body, trying to cause her as little irritation as possible. The demon straddled her, sitting on his knees above her legs and being sure not to put any weight on her. When she was ready and no longer blocking his access to the wound, he looked up at her straight in the eyes as he enchanted his dagger with darkness. “Stay still.” He commanded her, though his voice was gentle as he looked down at the damage. With that, he very gently placed the very tip of his dagger just on the inside of each of the three wounds. The purpose for this was simple; the light that was bothering her was merely residue so the dark enchanted dagger should be easily able to absorb and negate the light energy inside of her and stop a portion of the pain. |

Valerie whimpered when he crawled over and pulled her legs from her body. She didn't know how to respond to this sudden physical contact. She looked away from him quickly as suddenly he was straddling her. Her hand fell away from the wound and he put the dagger to the wounds. Feeling the dark spread through her she gasped as the light was consumed and she looked at him her eyes burning. "It doesn't hurt as bad now..."She whispered staring him in the eyes. Her hands were at her sides, keeping herself up, her legs straight out, and Drium was straddling her. Had she a heart it would have been pounding. Had she blood, her cheeks would have been flaming. All she could do was LOOK embarrassed. She stared at him silently and felt a small smile twitch her lips. He hadn't moved yet and she was afraid of all this physical contact. Especially after Ninshi..she froze her eyes locking his. He was her teacher, he was only fulfilling the pact. That was it! But if that was it why was her head spinning. She could almost feel her heart racing, even though it had still long ago. She stared at him and turned her head away quickly. Man she was such a flirt! Why couldn't she go three minutes without looking at someone's body, flirting with someone else. The man who had just caused her so much pain had her back against a cell door, straddling her with a dagger against her stomach and all she could think of was how close he was! She kept her eyes away from his face thinking hard of Ninshi, but she knew he probably hated her now. She turned her thoughts to something else. Blood, yes, blood. She took a deep breath and held it, making sure she was concentrating on something else besides this very awkward situation. "Drium.."She said softly glancing at him. "You can get off now, it feels better."She said her voice strained from keeping her breath in. |
