Drake was getting a bit tired. He had really just been flying rather aimlessly to be truthful, just because he felt like it. He decided to rest a bit. That forest down there looked like it would be good. Drake flew down toward it while wishing he could tell Shien-Zen why. That was the only annoying thing about dragon form, he didn't seem to be able to talk. When he tried, it came out as weird growls. Drake landed on the forest floor, and then there was a flash of light, signifying that he was transforming again. He wanted to be in human form now, mostly because he was annoyed with his inability to talk in dragon form. Drake looked around. The trees were rather thick together, and the light was dim. It seemed a bit creepy to Drake, rather than peaceful. The faint breeze going by made the leaves of the trees rustle. Something seemed slightly odd about that set of trees over there to Drake. As he looked closer, he realized that they weren't trees at all, but different colored wooden boards. Drake walked over a bit closer. "A house?" he wondered aloud. Why would there be a house out here? Someone who didn't want company? |

They had flew for a while, and Shien-Zen was not getting tired. It was obvious that his dragon friend was, as he landed below. Either that, or Drake saw something. Nonetheless, his wings spread and helped him glide downward after Drake, before he landed beside him. He looked around ahead of him, this place had a distinct look. He nodded one time to Drake's observation, it was indeed, a house. He walked foward a little to stand next to Drake. "My my..you sure did pick an interesting place to take a rest, Drake. This house does look abandoned, however." He stood up straight, he was a little tired, not having a chance to get any rest recently, but he did not show it. |

Damn it all to hell. Why couldn’t people just leave her alone? This would make it three visitors in less than a week now; more than she had had since the beginning of the year and longer. She had first spotted these two from the air, and now here they were, right in her front lawn. It had been such a peaceful evening as well, what with the light breeze, the wispy clouds surrounding the pale moon, and the occasional hoot of an owl. Now her night would be ruined. She could see that they were talking to each other, yet it was still difficult to hear what they had to say. Likely the pair were marveling at how anyone would live in such place, or maybe even guessing that no one did anymore. It always amazed her how people could see a perfectly passable living space and just assume that it wasn’t nice enough or fancy enough for anyone to live there. She’d heard that plenty of times before. The place had four walls and roof. What more could anyone ask for? She sighed heavily as they seemed to come just a bit closer. Of course they would come closer; everyone did. She had thought that she had done a fairly good job at camouflaging the place when she built it right into the very trees of the forest. She had even had the help of one of the priests at the Temple of Nature so that it blended in better. Apparently it wasn’t ‘blended’ well enough. She would have to see what she could do about that. Well she may as well go and greet her guests. She picked up a large basket that already carried a few plants and herbs, using the guise that she was merely going out to pick more plants to weave into her magic. There were two of them; she might as well bring company along as well. She whistled low and from the bedroom walked her familiar of sorts; an overlarge black panther. Pyra walked right up to the door and pawed at it briefly, knowing full well to keep her claws sheathed so that they don’t leave a mark in the wooden door. She pushed the feline out of the way with her foot and turned the knob on the door. Pyra was out like a flash, acting more like a puppy than the carnivorous jungle cat that she was. She chased a firefly briefly before she noticed the pair standing in the clearing. Immediately Sphynx stepped out onto the porch and, feigning surprise, she placed one hand to her chest and jumped slightly at seeing the two pair practically on her doorstep. For a moment she simply stood there, basket in hand, staring at them both. When she finally seemed to remember herself, she stepped off of the porch and went to stand next to the panther, placing a hand upon her neck as if to hold her back. “May I help you?” |

Drake replied to Shien-Zen, who had evidently landed after him, "I seem to like forests for some reason. Although, this one is a bit dark..." Then, Drake realized that they weren't at the wall of the house. As he started looking more closely, he realized that they weren't just staring at the wall of the house. This was a porch. Drake was able to make out a door, and railings, and even a rocking chair, that rocked with the gentle breeze of the forest. Drake remarked, "If it was abandoned, I'd guess they left in a hurry..." Then, suddenly, the door opened, and a... An extremely large black cat ran out. Drake let out a cry of surprise, and began to draw his swords... When he then realized that the cat wasn't attacking. It was... Chasing a firefly. Drake sheathed his swords again. Then, a woman came out of the house and appeared surprised. "May I help you?" she asked. Drake said, a bit uncertainly as usual, "Er... No. I'm sorry, my friend and I were just wandering a bit, and we ended up running across your house." Drake said, "If there's a problem with us being here, I'm sure we could go on and leave..." |

Shien-Zen did not flinch or anything at all when he saw the cat run out of the house. He only watched it for a second, and then the woman stepped out of the house. He was apparently incorrect with his assumption that the house was abandoned, because there the cat and the woman stood, right in front of them, He began his examination of this person, noticing she did not look most pleased to see them, perhaps even ready to attack them. She held the basket in her hands with flowers, but that would not fool Shien-Zen..her expression and body langauge told the story. He had to know something before he continued. His eyes suddenly flashed at her..and for the first time, he could not see what side she aligned herself with. This disturbed Shien-Zen a little, he flashed his eyes at her once more, and tried again, but to no avail. He really could not see her alignment for some reason. "..This person..apparently has something to hide.." He looked over to Drake. "Be on your gaurd." |

She glared from one to the other as the first one finished his explanation of how they had come across this location. “You are trespassing upon my lands and came uninvited right up to my doorstep. Why wouldn’t that be a problem? Do you enjoy it when strangers wander around your front yard?” Of course; just wandering around and ended up here. That’s what they all said, but it still didn’t validate trespassing. Maybe she should take a leaf out of the Emperor of the Erstaz Dynasty and use illusion spells to hide her humble abode; or just add magical turrets that shot flames at any intruder. She liked the second idea better. It was then that she caught the words that the other man had said. Something to hide, her? She raised an eyebrow as she looked him over, wondering whatever would give him that impression. Perhaps it was the blocked psychic attack that had done it. Her shield had acted well enough; both blocking the attack as well as alerting her that he was trying to see…something. The shield didn’t exactly tell her what he was fishing around for, so she would just have to ask instead. “Doesn’t everyone have something to hide? Maybe if I knew what you were looking for, I could give you a hand?” She practically laughed out loud at the idea. Of course she wasn’t going to just give away her secrets. While Sphynx had remained on the porch during this entire conversation, Pyra meanwhile had crept ever closer. She always had such curiosity, but then again she was a cat. She sniffed at the air before the two strangers, though neither of them really smelled human. The one with darker hair smelled almost like the lizards that she chased around the rocks whenever she went to the desert. The other, with the lighter fur and wings, just smelled bad. He made her sneeze. |

Drake winced at the woman's words, "I'm sorry, I guess we should leave then..." He glanced over at Shien-Zen, who seemed to be staring intently at the woman. "Come on, let's go." he said. However, as soon as he spoke, Shien-Zen spoke as well. ""..This person..apparently has something to hide.." He then glanced over to Drake. "Be on your guard." Drake was surprised, "Er... What do you mean?" What was Shien-Zen talking about? Then, the woman said to Shien-Zen, “Doesn’t everyone have something to hide? Maybe if I knew what you were looking for, I could give you a hand?” Drake really didn't know what was going on. He noticed that the big black cat was coming closer to them, slowly. Then, it sneezed. Drake then put his attention back to what was going on now. He looked at Shien-Zen, still sort of wondering what was going on... |

This woman was full of herself, at least that is what Shien-Zen believed after her remarks to him. He looked at the cat for a brief second, and then back up at the woman. Sure they were on her land without knowing it was hers, but she surely did not have to speak to them like that. His eyes thinned and turned into a bit of a glare, not quite yet understanding who this woman was. "Drake..you may leave if you wish, but I have some questions for this woman.." He flashed his eyes at her once more, surely it had to work this time. But it did not work..so if he wanted to know her alignment, or anything, for that matter, he would have to ask it. But that wasn't even what he was worried about anymore..he was worried about what she could possibly be hiding from the both of them. "The only ones who hide are the ones who do not walk in the light..you must have a tainted soul." |

The smallest hint of a smile crossed her face as one of the apologized. He seemed to want to leave, yet the other apparently wouldn’t have it. He had some questions for her? Her eyes narrowed at the tone of voice he was using. Feeling her shield block another attack only fueled her growing anger. Leaving the basket by the door, she finally removed herself from the porch and stalked closer, if only to have a better aim once she decided which spell to hit them both with. Her voice was low and harsh when she spoke next. “Might I remind you that it is my land that you are standing on? You came here uninvited and unwanted! If anything you should be telling me why you are still here.” But they wouldn’t leave. She did have a right to forcibly eject them from her property if it came to that…didn’t she? It didn’t really matter whether she did or not; she doubted that anyone would be able to find the bodies. She started to wonder exactly who they were with the comment about ‘those who do not walk in the light.’ Who talked like that anyway? And what exactly did he mean by ‘a tainted soul?’ Well she supposed that being a practicing necromancer would taint her soul; if she still had one, that is. She really wasn’t entirely sure on that part, what with having been a goddess at one point only to fall from grace. She merely rolled her eyes at his last comment. “Well then what about the ones who just want to be left in peace? I’m sure they would hide from you as well.” |

Drake stared at Shien-Zen as he talked to the woman, not wanting to really leave without him. After he spoke, and the woman did, Drake interrupted, "Shien-Zen, this is ridiculous! Why do you think she's hiding something anyway? And why does it matter? Some people may just want to be left alone, like she said. People don't walk around announcing their entire lives to everyone they meet." Drake honestly didn't know what was going on, but he found this completely ridiculous. He continued, "And it sounds almost like you have some reason to think she plans on harming people. I for one, have seen no reason to believe that there's anything going on here except her wanting to be left alone, and you refusing to leave. This is ridiculous!" Drake was getting rather frustrated. He didn't want to be having an argument, nor witnessing one at this point in time. He had only stopped in this forest to rest a bit, and he was failing to do that. Drake was honestly at that point in frustration where he felt his eyes change. The irises of Drake's eyes became golden, while the pupils became slit, and appeared almost to be windows into worlds of flames. Drake became more frustrated now. He didn't need this. Shien-Zen hadn't seen his eyes change yet, and would probably be surprised. If the woman saw, she would probably freak out a bit... Why did crazy situations always happen? Was there a reason his life was completely insane, or was he cursed by chaos? Or was it actually some stupid, against-all-odds set of coincidences? Drake sighed in frustration, this was just stupid! He'd probably be in a bad mood for the rest of the day now... |

Something was not right..Shien-Zen noticed a faint glow ahead of him. He looked over and saw that Drake's eyes were glowing. He was angry; Shien-Zen must have done something to anger him. He did not show his concern, though. What he was more concerned with was the woman in front of him. He did not flash her eyes at her again, he carefully examined her appearance.. "...This woman..she is vaguely familar to me.." He held his chin as he thought to himself for a few seconds, his gaze all over her, much harder than before. Something about her rang a bell in his mind..but he could not put a finger on what..was it her weight? Her hair? Her eyes? Her attitude? "I mean..I have heard stories.." Shien-Zen took a step backwards from her. His emotions were slowly developing into more than just anger..now he displayed a bit of fear on his face. "But..t-this.." But this was no time to be frightened, he realized one thing. He had to get out of here and now. Though he wanted to punish her so badly, at his current state, he is unable to. He looked over to Drake. "Let's leave." |

She couldn’t help stop the smirk she felt as one of them tried to call off the other. Of course she had nothing to hide; technically there wasn’t anything illegal or even unethical in her shack at that moment in time, though that doesn’t mean that there never had been. But she was getting the benefit of the doubt from what she was now beginning to consider the smarter of the two. “Oh, that is the smartest thing you’ve said since fell at my doorstep. I wouldn’t dream of hurting a fly.” There was no way that they could prove any of her words false. There was only one other present at her last murder, of that annoying little mouse girl, and she knew that he wouldn’t talk. One necromancer never gave up another; besides she figured he probably would have felt grateful for being rid of the creature, if he dealt with feelings that is. She motioned towards the one with the darker hair while directing her speech at the more stubborn one who had tried several times now to break through her shields. “You should really consider listening to your friend there.” She raised one eyebrow at the mention of stories. She certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he had heard the tales of her life as goddess and eventual downfall. But few people actually made that connection, and actually decided to leave, when they first met her. Normally she had to give some show of her power before that happened, but maybe today was her lucky day. “Now you are starting to see some sense.” They had finally both decided that the right thing to do was leave her in peace. It was almost disappointing; they could have added a little excitement to her otherwise routine day. But it was probably for the best. There was no need to draw too much attention to herself at this time; at least none more so than usual. She didn’t want to alert anyone to the plans being laid. She walked back up the porch step and picked up her basket once again. She would continue on her task of collecting herbs as soon as these two had taken off again. |

Drake was relieved, if slightly confused, when Shien-Zen suddenly said, while looking slightly afraid, "Let's leave." Drake said in an exasperated tone, "Finally!" and then he looked at the woman, (with his eyes still changed, since he couldn't really do much about that) and said, "Sorry we bothered you, I guess we'll be going now." Drake actually didn't feel tired anymore, so instead of walking to another place in the forest, he decided to just fly off. Drake went into his dragon form, with the flash of light that always accompanied his transformation, and began flying away. After all, how much harm could it do if a woman in the middle of the woods who only wanted to be left alone saw his eyes, and his transformation? ...Why is it that whenever I wonder something about "how much harm could it do?" I suddenly get a very bad feeling? Drake thought to himself. He glanced back to see if Shien-Zen really was following. |

Drake flew off, and he contiued to stare in amazement at the woman he finally had to meet. This was the first time in a while he was actually scared of anyone. But still, he was also angry that she hid her alignment from him, as now, he did not know what to do with her. But based off of what he heard, she was indeed evil.. ..And she would be taken care of later. He turned around with Drake, rose up into the air with him, fists at his side. It was aparent that he was in actuality, upset that he had to leave, and upset that he made a fool of himself. But he knew he'd be back. |
