Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

The seraph had got a chance to see quite a bit of the new world that he was dropped into. He covered the lands of Soto, mostly. The ocean, the temple, the plains, and now he found himself at the island of angar, the suicide cliffs, even. He was high in the air, looking down to take everything in view. There was very little life around here, and he began to wonder why.

Shien-zen was very high up, and he started to lower his altitude a little. Maybe he just could not see anything because he was so high up, but he wasn't sure. He would find out though, the closer and closer he got.

Drium assumed he must have had a thing for cliffs because recently he had found himself upon them quite often. He stood on the edge, looking down at the waves mercilessly crashing upon the jagged rocks. The demon wondered what it would feel like to fall from here and land down there, but he shook his head, deciding he didn’t really want to know.

Having been there for some time after wandering in curiosity, he decided it was time to leave and turned. The sea wind blew through his hair and he took a deep breath, noting how much he liked the smell of it. Drium had only made it a few yards from the edge before the hairs on the back of his neck began prickling upwards in an all too familiar irritation. He stopped mid step, eyes darkening as he tried to pick up where the feeling was coming from. He knew exactly what it was he was sensing, memories he had buried from before he decided on a life of thievery poking at the forefront of his mind. There was no place to hide though and tensing himself wasn’t going to help anything so he sighed away his anxiety.

He simply stood there now and waited, eyes narrowed slightly. If the feeling went away, he was fine. If not, well… He’d deal with whatever happened as it happened.

He lowered his level in the air only so much, and he felt comfortable where he was. He looked down below him, focusing his eyes so he could see clearer. Yes, everything was much clearer now. He folded his arms, actually finding the view to be much prettier than before, now that he was that much closer. It relaxed his mind, put a small smile on his face.

There was a familiar presence about the mountains, however. Something or someone who he encountered before, though he was not quite sure who yet, exactly. And then he saw it..the familiar figure. It was the theif from quite some time ago..known as Drium. Shien-Zen and Drium did have an altercation a little while ago.

In fact, Shien-Zen was pretty sure that he killed Drium. Apparently Drium survived that last attack, and he was wrong. But, maybe that changed Drium for the better. He slowly lowered down, closer to Drium, so maybe Drium would see him. He kept his arms folded, and his gaze stern and serious. He would not say anything first.

He waited patiently for the being to reveal itself to him. He knew it would, they always did; it was only a matter of time. That heavenly lot, he grimaced, always poking their upturned noses into affairs that had nothing to do with them. His assumption seemed to be fairly on track as the presence of the celestial creature got stronger and stronger, causing the prickly feeling that was tickling his nape to become irritatingly intense.

Eventually it stopped and the demon thief knew that whoever it was had spotted him and was probably watching him. His ears twitched and he looked up, turning all about until he spotted the thing. Drium seemed surprised when he saw Shien-Zen. “Oh.” He stated drily, turning completely to stare with eyes narrowed. “It’s you…”

The demon sneered at the seraph. He was a fairly young one as far as Drium was concerned and though he had a run-in with the angel earlier; it was nothing worth making note of. As far as he was concerned anyway.

“What, are you stalking me now?

The seraph shook his head shamefully at Drium when Drium looked back at him. He was much closer to Drium, moving closer to him, so he now was in the air, about ten feet from Drium. If there was something that had to do with stealing from another, as far as Shien-Zen was concerened, it was indeed, his business. Suprisingly, after the punishment, Drium treated the seraph the same.

Still had a fresh mouth, and still, his spirit was tainted. Drium did not learn ANYTHING AT ALL from their last encounter. Then he had nerve to ask Shien-Zen if he was stalking him. It made Shien-Zen a little upset as he clenched his fists at his sides. He felt that Drium was just another stupid demon..who does not learn from his mistakes. His aura flared up around him, not even purposefully.

It was a reflection of his emotions, and showed how he felt about Drium.

"No, Drium. I am looking about the area..and I happened to run across you, I have better things to do than to stalk a lowly, heartless, evil, vile, filthy theif, such as yourself." Based on the way he said it, one could tell he 100% met every word he said.

Drium laughed at the angel’s words and sentiments about him and he grinned. “You forgot murderous, uncaring, greedy, and arrogant.” He said sarcastically, ears flicking idly. He knew the angel didn’t like him; the feeling was mutual. Drium wasn’t fond of any angel really; they were all very annoying and for some reason he could not understand always wanted to jump into business that was none of their own. Just a bunch of joy kills was what he thought they were.

“Well, stop looking around this area.” He couldn’t really think of anything really worthwhile to say, so he was just going to say anything. “Actually, stop looking around any area and just go back to that stupid sky world you came from.” Though it surely didn’t show on his face, Drium inwardly winced; his words even coming off to himself as being stupid and childish.

His aura calmed when Drium laughed. Drium obviously did not care what Shien-Zen thought of him, even if Shien-Zen was telling the truth. Shien-Zen folded his arms at Drium when he mentioned the other words. "Yes, yes..I know I forgot. I will remember next time.." Just like Drium was not fond of any angel, Shien-Zen was fond of no theif..especially a demon theif.

"You know..for someone who got beat nearly to death..you sure do talk. And I mean, a lot. At any given time, I could kill you..and the worst part is, you actually know this. What is it that makes you continue to defy me and not follow the rules that have already been set out? Is it just because you are a demon and it is in your nature to be an idiot? Or maybe..you enjoy it when I beat on you?"

“You called that incident near death?” He scoffed, shaking his own head in amazement. “I’ve been near death once and that was not it. If anything, I just let you get that aggression out of your system so you’d leave me alone.”

Most of what the angel said, Drium simply let roll off his back. He knew the angel was only bringing up that incident to make him angry so there was no way he was going to show it. Taunts and verbal provocation was something he considered himself quite adept at so when it was used against him, he wasn’t very often affected.

“Regardless of what I am, my nature is to make myself happy.” He said coolly with a raised eyebrow.

“All you angel types do is the opposite. Tell me of one thing an angel has done that made someone happy and I’ll tell you of ten one did to make others unhappy.”

He sighed, lowering his head for a moment. “Why am I even talking to you… What do you want?” He asked finally.

"Yes, it was near death...do not lie to yourself. I burned you so badly..that you passed out in my grasp. Yes, it is true that us angels make more people unhappy than we do to make them happy, because there are more evil people in this world than there are good people. We do not make criminals happy."

He said these words coldly and cruely, cause that is the type of person he is..a person filled with anger. He could tell that what he was saying was not affecting Drium too much, but it did not matter, since they both knew the truth. Shien-Zen was most likely not as good with trash talking as Drium was, however, he was much better than Drium at telling the truth.

"Yes, that is your nature..a selfish, selfish nature..to make yourself happy at the expense of others, and you have no shame whatsoever, theif. As for why I am talking to you, I am here to warn you that unless you change your ways immediately, your day of judgment will approach swiftly..and this time, there will be no surviving."

“Blah blah blah, angel, blah blah blah…” Drium rolled his eyes at Shien-Zen. He knew there was no point in arguing with him about whether or not he was or was not about to die during their last encounter. He’d let the angel believe whatever he wanted; if it made him happy to think that he only almost killed the thief, good for him.

“If you don’t get it by now, you’re not going to get it…. I’m not changing for you.” Drium stated, mocking the ‘oh so serious’ tone of voice the angel possessed.

He laughed, unable to keep it up fully as it simply wasn’t his personality before giving Shien-Zen a toothy grin. “All you angels and your idle threats… If you’re so sure that you can deliver, you might as well strike me down now.”

He challenged Shien-Zen with his arms outstretched to either side. Despite his words, he hoped that the angel would just ignore him; Drium didn’t really feel like dealing with the trouble at the moment.

Shien-Zen listened to Drium attempt to talk like he was the seraph, and it did not make him smile, he found no comedy in any of this at all. He was actually convinced that Drium may possibly be..unintelligent. For who else, who was beaten against a tree with closed fists, and then held and burned to unconsciousness, would dare challenge the person who did it to them to do it again.

Shien-Zen was curious if Drium was really serious about asking for a rematch with Shien-Zen. He extended his hand out toward him, so that Drium would be looking at his palm. An orb of light formed and swirled on the palm of his hand. His eyes thinned at Drium, and he showed his teeth just a little. The energy he focused created a weak wind that would blow past Drium.

Drium stared at Shien-Zen incredulously when he held his arm out and formed an orb of light in his hand. The demon’s hands dropped to his sides and he tilted his head to the side, his eyebrow raising. “You’d attack someone who’s defenseless?” He asked curiously. Drium didn’t truly consider himself as such, but he wasn’t holding his weapons and had limited access to magic; much less strictly offensive magic, so he didn’t think it a stretch to make his statement.

“You suck as an angel.” He sneered, showing teeth. Drium wasn’t intimidated by the angel at all and he actually took a little bit of pleasure in messing with him. Still, he was ready. If Shien-Zen were to attack him, he would snap into action. The angel was holding their last encounter over his head he knew, but he didn’t care. Only if the angel had actually killed him, would he have conceded bragging rights to him.

He saw Drium drop his arms. His smile widened a little when he saw Drium's stare. To him, it was possibly a look of fear..in combination with surprise. But he should not be; and it made him wonder why Drium is acting like this is his very The orb of light disappeared, and his arm dropped to his side. He pointed at Drium with the pointing finger on his other hand.

"If I was such a horrible angel, would you not be dead when we first met?"

His smile turned into a bit of a smirk. On top of that defense against how he was such a great seraph, he even lowered his attack. He just wanted to see Drium's reaction to Shien-Zen taking the open shot.

The demon watched the winged other blandly. He looked so proud of himself and the smirk on his face made Drium’s stomach hurt; what he wouldn’t give to wipe the floor with him. “That was your first mistake.” He responded curtly, the sneer on his lips twitching in mounting irritation. Even if Shien-Zen hadn’t said anything, the simple fact that he was angel in the demon’s presence would have eventually annoyed him.

His eyes narrowed though he was no longer looking at Shien-Zen, seemingly more interested in the view of the ocean. His voice was fairly serious and dark. “If the roles were reversed, I would have made sure to complete the job.” His eyes then cut back sharply to Shien-Zen. “You’re an angel. If I was in the perfect position to end your life, I’d take it without hesitation.” He paused, studying him for a moment.

“I’d be sure to make sure you were dead too. There would be no mistake.”

He did not let the demon's words sway him or change his emotion, he had gotten all the satisfaction he needed out of making Drium annoyed and angry. Shien-zen felt he already proved his point, and that Drium was just another loser talking trash to him. He put his hands on his hips and laughed at Drium, leaning back a little, and then back foward. He was really laughing that hard. It took him a few seconds to stand upright.

"Mistake? Why..you should be greatful!"

He continued to laugh at the pathetic demon, who was honestly powerless against him. It had been a long while since Shien-Zen found humor in anything, so he tried to enjoy this as much as possible.

"But the roles are not reversed, are they? Oh, and by the way, your friend, the vampire..the one you snatched from the swordsman. Thanks in part to your teachings, she is also on my list of people I will be passing judgment over."

He shrugged at the statement that he should be glad that Shien-Zen had mistakenly let him live. He didn’t understand the sentiment. If your enemy survived an encounter, it was considered a failure that was to be rectified immediately. At least, that was what he had been taught.

“Guess I’m just ungrateful then.” He responded easily. It was taking all of the demon’s willpower to ignore the angel’s laughter and not simply lunge at him with intent to kill. He was about to say something else, but then Shien-Zen said something about Valerie. His feline ears flicked as his expression softened. How did he know about her? More importantly, how did he know she was his friend? If you could call her that… Drium wasn’t too sure where exactly the two of them stood in that regard.

After the initial surprise of Valerie being thrown into the conversation, his eyes narrowed once more. “So?” The question was simple and held his true feelings: Apathy. Regardless of whether or not Drium was sure he considered Valerie a friend, she wasn’t a good enough friend to warrant him getting even in the least bit upset because of a threat against her. Especially if she wasn’t currently in immediate danger in front of him.

“Am I supposed to beg for her life or something? Or maybe you want me to jump to her defense and fight you for her honor.” He glared. “Valerie isn’t evil… You attacking her just is just pathetic.”

And that was the difference between an angel and a demon. Shien-Zen did not see it as a failure, and did not want to kill him, so much as teach him a lesson. It was more and more apparent that he should have killed Drium when he had him burning in his hands. But, regretting something never proved to be beneficial in any kind of way. He shook his head at Drium.

"Yes, yes..you are an ungrateful fool. If you dislike living so much, you should just off yourself, demon."

The mentioning of Valerie did not even seem to phase the demon..this was unexpected. But, then again, this IS a demon, afterall. As far as Shien-Zen was concerned, demon's have no feelings and have not the right to walk this world. He raised an eyebrow at Drium when he noted attacking Valerie is pathetic.

"She kills people, you imbecile. So I may attack her as I please. However, I have other things to attend to. So..enjoy your days on this planet."

With that, his wings shined, and he slowly rose backwards into the air, looking down at Drium with a smile that seemed..somewhat triumphant. He knew Drium was just so angry with him..his tone said it all.

He rolled his eyes at the angel, he just didn’t get it. This had nothing to do with whether or not Drium disliked living, which in and of itself was quite to the contrary; Drium was quite happy with life. With that said, it was of the thief’s opinion that if you plan on killing someone, that you should make sure they’re dead and not try to play off your failure as mercy.

The more that Shien-Zen spoke, the more convinced Drium became that this reject probably wasn’t ‘sent’ from heaven as he’s been claiming, but probably kicked out due to idiocy. The thought made him shake his head. He didn’t think it would be much of a stretch to believe that this winged wannabe would’ve been tossed to earth so that those up above wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore.

“Wow.” Was all he could say in response to the angel’s statement regarding Valerie before he began flying away from him. “Just… Wow.” The irony of this situation was hitting him hard and the corner of his mouth was twitching into a smirk.

“I’d explain how stupid what you just was, but I really doubt you have the brain cells necessary to process it.”

Drium just watched him leave, raising his eyebrow. He didn’t understand that angel, or the reason why he had that stupid smile on his face. Didn’t matter though; soon enough he’d put him in his place… Right when he was ripping out those wings and stuffing them down Shien-Zen’s pompous throat.
