Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

Thank the Gods, Bael had managed to fit her up with supplies. Caring for both herself and the new animal in her responsibility, trudging through the desert was no simple task. She'd managed to find a caravan the first time, but this time she was all alone, and the sands seemed to go on forever. For company, she would talk to Fledge, ask him questions about how his previous owners had died. He could never respond, of course, but she certainly pretended he could. Before long, she was asking him about his favorite colors... whether he actually liked carrots as the stereotype suggested, or was he more of a fruit salad fellow? And eventually, she began to talk to him about another male, a magician, a mysterious and charming person who also doubled as a wonderful lover. And, because the horse couldn't oppose, she went into various details that nobody wanted to know...

A day and a half passed. The first patch of greenery revealed itself beneath Fledge's huge hooves. Then came the trees, where both of them spent a well-deserved rest. The mare even went so far as to lay down, where upon Freya rested her back and marveled up at the canopy, and the streams of light floating down to dot the leafy ground. Lizards were plentiful here on the Soatian border. She would pluck a wood lizard from a tree and play with it on her arm. She'd told them there would be no escape, that she was their executioner, then let them go where she'd found them.

"C'mon, you Cursed Warhorse!" she tugged on his reigns until he stood again, then mounted and proceeded. The rest of the trip was very pleasant, coming to pass many freshwater streams that the both of them could drink from. The shade was, likewise, very welcomed. At last, they entered the thriving city, and she set to finding her reason for being there immediately, inquiring all around if anybody had seen a mummified street magician. At a tavern, she was able to get a straight answer, and walked beside the steed this time as opposed to riding. He'd had enough for today.

When Freya found the small, gathered crowd, she tethered Fledge to a post and worked her way through, hoping her man was in the center of it all.

This was currently the magician’s second visit to the capital of Soto and what he hoped would be a more pleasant one. Not that his first visit was terrible per se, it was just that things just didn’t turn out as he would have liked. He hadn’t run into the swordsman or that vampire since, though he couldn’t quite remember either of their names, but he wondered how they were fairing. Last time he had left them a bit of a surprise following his departure, and though he stuck around long enough to know that they hadn’t been captured, he had been assured that the city guards would be on the lookout for them.

He shook his head, putting the thought out of his mind as he prepared to begin what would be his second performance within a time span of three days in the city. His first performance had been staged within the poorer area of the city and though he didn’t receive much in tips following, the general pleasure his audience had gained sated his desires.

Of course money was, sadly, an important aspect of living nowadays which was the reason he was now performing once again in the more wealthy section. He stood outside the side of a large building, along the side wall and waited, arms crossed, toe impatiently tapping the ground, his gaze directly slightly upwards.

This by itself drew a couple people to stop and stare at him, also turning their heads to see what exactly he was looking at. He needed the sun to be in a particular position for his opening act and when it was only moments away from being so, he wasted no time in garnering the attention of everyone nearby. When the crowd he had gathered was large enough he began.

He moved to the side and began making shadow puppets against the wall behind him. At first he simply cycled through an array of objects and amusing caricatures to gain a few laughs before beginning to show various animals. The creatures’ outlines were so realistic and lively that they looked like they would simply come alive. And come alive they did. The shadows stepped off the wall and onto the stone ground, parading before the front row as tiny two dimensional replicas of the real things. An elephant, a rabbit, a satyr, a crocodile upon its hind legs, a dog, an eagle, and myriad of other creatures joined in the parade; all silent and all very well behaved. Until the crocodile ate the dog.

From there, the shadow zoo he had created began to run wild, the small animations running at random and attacking one another. He feigned a look of surprise and futilely attempted to calm the creatures with soothing actions and silent words, his motions over exaggerated in order to elicit more laughs. Eventually he simply gave up and hung his head in shame before waving his hand. This dismissed the creatures and they began to mist away into the wind, but he stopped them, merging their forms into a smoky vapor which he then manipulated into a variety of large aerial shapes and designs.

The shoe continued after that, the magician breezing through a number of acts that either had people laughing or gasping in surprise. Soon it was time to be a bit more interactive and he surveyed the faces before him in order to decide whom to choose. He paused, but only for a split second as he shared eye contact with an extremely familiar red head before finally speaking. “Now… I’m going to need a volunteer from the audience.”

A number of people had raised their hands, curious to see what he was going to do. He seemed to have a hard time deciding, stroking his chin and looking hard at the gathered crowd. “Ah…. You!” A gloved finger shot forward, aimed right at the woman with the fiery hair, a spark of black erupting from the tip and dissipating in a tiny, firework like display.

”If you would be so kind…”

She'd arrived just in time to see his zoo, grinning with delight as all others around her had been doing since the beginning. She laughed, too, when they ran amok, sinking down into a squat to attempt to catch the rabbit. Her hand had no effect on it, of course, and nobody had noticed but the little boy at her side, who'd wanted to do the same. But, instead of running after it, his mother hooked her finger into the back of his shirt, predicting the child's excitement.

Rising to stand once more, she looked in at amazement at his tricks, smiling subtly, musing at the thought of him being her's alone. She had to admit, his show was endearing, and progressively making her like him a little bit more, every time he snapped his fingers or moved with another sweeping gesture.

At a point, she noticed she'd finally caught his attention. When their eyes met, she gave him a quick little wink and wave, her fingers curling into her palm twice. But... she also hadn't intended on being his first victim. A red blush consumed her cheeks quickly, eyes widening just a fraction more.

"Uhm..." she stared at his finger, then, hesitantly, stepped up from the crowd into the open circle. She was garbed still in Bael's fine fabrics. "O-Okay... but don't make me disappear..." she muttered. "Or saw me in half..." Even this, while the mood was still one of humor, brought a little chuckle from the crowded group.

She came to stand in front of him. "Where d'you want me?" Freya was doing well to pretend she had no clue who this man was.

The magician smirked inwardly when he saw the red go to her cheeks and the widening of her eyes. Other than that he made no outwardly appearance of having any previous interaction with her and he was happy that she was doing the same. Though she had no idea what he planned to do during his performance with her onstage, if it were obvious that he had prior dealings with the chosen member, his tricks would likely be put under more scrutiny. He noted her new clothes with a slight tilt of the head as she approached; they weren’t too shabby. In fact, he rather liked them.

“Don’t worry mi’lady.” He said with a reassuring chuckle as he turned on his heels with a billowing of his cape-like sash, moving back towards the wall. “If I make you disappear, I’ll be sure to bring you back.” He half turned back to her and winked, his voice seeming slightly darker than usual. “Eventually...”

“As for sawing you in half…” He trailed off, obviously thinking before responding with a casual shrug of his shoulders. ”Well, I’ve not done that before, but I’m sure that two of you would be better than one!” He laughed, as did the audience while he began to rub his hands together.

“Before we begin, allow me to introduce myself.” He started while approaching Freya.

“I am Razi, shadow magician extraordinaire!” He announced with a bow. “Pleasure to meet you.” He then offered out a hand for her to shake. If she took it, she would find that he would turn away immediately, leaving the gloved appendage in her grasp as he began to address the audience, detailing out a quick story regarding his travels through Soto.

The bandit absolutely trusted him to bring her back in one piece. The apprehension was a show, as were most of her reactions she gave him to play with. She laughed with the crowd when he did something amusing. She played her role as a faceless volunteer perfectly, giving him what she thought to be the perfect fuel for more.

She stood awkwardly, obviously not her style in anyone knew her, and bowed her head with a bashful grin to his comment about double the pleasure, double the fun. But when he turned to introduce himself, she gave him an over-exaggerated curtsy, taking the hand.

"Good to meet you, my name is - WAAAH!" she stared in horror at the hand that had been detached from the rest of him. Of course, she was really hardly surprised, but it would have made her giggle regardless. The crowd thought the scene to be a laugh riot.

"Uhm... Sir..." she blinked in his direction when he turned to carry on with idle conversation with the rest of the crowd. Freya gingerly stepped up to his back and tapped him hesitantly on the shoulder. "Sir, I uh... think you forgot something..." The lady held the hand out to him, as she didn't know what else to do but hold it until he took it back.

She couldn't wait to see what he was going to do next. This working with him was too much fun, much more than she thought it was going to be. A good performer, it's never just about tricks, but about how you work your audience. She was beginning to understand him a little bit more.

Razi seemed to pay no attention to her yell and simply rattled on to the audience. Though some of them continued to listen to his story, captivated by the odd tale that seemed both never-ending and too fantastic to believe, most had turned to look at the woman. There were gasps as people realized that the magician was handless, but then chuckles as they realized that he was blissfully unaware of his current predicament.

His story stopped abruptly when he felt a tap upon his shoulder. “Yes?” He said in an overly sweet tone as he turned to look at Freya, his gaze dropping to spot the hand that she was holding. “Oh!” He sounded genuinely surprised at the realization and looked down at his own handless sleeve. “Well… You certainly have a grip worth writing about, young lady! He laughed, but then turned back to the audience and continued with his story as if nothing had just happened.

The hand that was in the female’s grasp then dissolved into a chilly handful of thin flakes of shadows from within his sleeve another gloved hand emerged. The fingers flexed as he seemed to finally finish. “And that’s what’s brought me here!”

The appearance of the new hand also seemed to surprise him and he looked at it, apparently running with the new arrival. “Oh my~ See? Good as new.” He said while looking as his newfound assistance. Razi then half turned to face the audience, his hand coming to his face as if telling them a secret to be kept from Freya.

“Always good to have a spare...” He winked and chuckled, much to the amusement of the people before once more returning his attention to the woman and clearing his throat.

“Alright! Time to get down to business.” He began with a clap of his hands. “Do you know why I brought you up here?”

He paused as if to give her enough time to answer, but then quickly restarted. “Of course not! Next question! Do you like card games, Ms…?”

She snickered at his unattentiveness, raising the arm with the extra appendage to cover her mouth. When he noted her grip, she briefly flashed him a look that might have been saying 'you would know'. But soon, the hand dematerialized, and she attempted for a genuine look of amazement when it did, glancing around her to see if had ended up on the ground or somewhere just as crazy as his antics had been thus far, but stopped when she saw he had a pair again coming from his sleeves. Freya began the applause with a shy little clap. Soon, everyone else was joining her. Her own hands stopped with their sound when she saw she was once again being ignored, and possibly talked about. Her arms lowered in slight distaste. Better have been something good...

He'd asked why she'd been brought up, but hadn't allowed her to respond. Stubbornly, she folded her arms across her chest and lifted a brow. Alright, now the real Freya was beginning to show through.

"You brought me up here to play tricks on me, of course! You better come up with something good before I get bored up here and you lose your voulenteer!" a blatant challenge. Her position changed from the shy city girl to the bold woman, and a wide smirk grew, stretching her full lips. She tapped her foot impatiently.

"My name is Freya, and you would have known that by now, had you not interrupted me!" she took a step forward and poked his shoulder, the grin still playing at her mouth. "And no, I don't care for gambling."

That was a blunt lie, but it also opened a window for him to explain just what cards he had on him.

Inwardly the magician beamed at Freya’s performance. What she was displaying now, that’s what he liked to see; not the easy cookie cutter volunteer, but the one that pressed buttons. His eyes flickered through amusement and another less easily described emotion as she poked boldly at his shoulder, a grin on his hidden face.

“You’d leave me?” He sounded shocked, his eyes widening. “But I thought we had such great chemistry!” His head turned away from her, hand going to his forehead dramatically as if he felt faint before he straightened himself and looked her in the eyes, his own flashing briefly.

“You with your standing there, me with my whatever I’m doing… Do you not see how well we mesh?” He accented his words with a squeeze of his palms; his words, unbeknownst to the audience, hinting at more than just the performance Freya was participating in.

He gave a light laugh. “Since you don’t care for gambling, it’s good thing there’s no gold on the line then, yes?”

The magician then reached into the inside breast of his robe and pulled out his deck of cards. A visible red and black aura surrounded them and he laughed at the audience’s reaction to them. He loved his deck dearly, though he didn’t make nearly as much use of them as he should have; something he figured he’d change eventually as time wore on.

With a wave of his hand he spread them out before Freya, the cards hovering in the air in a slight crescent, their identical backs to her. He turned around then, his back to her and covered his eyes with one of his hands. “Now, I want you to pick a card. Any card.”

As he spoke, the deck shuffled itself, cards zipping in and out from between one another, moving to display random shapes and designs at a speed that had them visually appearing as one solid stream. When they finished, the spread deck spun rapidly while side by side, so fast in fact that the illustrated portion of each was just a blurry haze of vivid color.

“Just grab one, any one. They won’t hurt. Once you have the one you like, be sure to show it to the audience before letting me know you’re done.” He laughed.

“If you win, there’s a special surprise for you at the end…”

"Yeah, we mesh alright, like gum on the bottom of a boot," she muttered audibly, which brought from the crowd one or two persons, who seemed entirely too into the show, a heart attack of laughter and a quiet little 'ouch' from the back. These were the more sadistic folks, most likely, or the ones that had never seen anything like this show. She placed a hand on her hip and swayed into it, lifting a brow. Still, Freya met his gaze every time he took a glance at her.

When he'd drawn a deck of cards from his coat, her saucy countenance shifted to one of intrigue. They rose into the air, and the woman had to take a step back, unknown to her what they were capable of. No doubt he wouldn't hurt her, but regardless... This magic was real, not just tricks. The deck itself was unlike anything she'd ever laid eyes on, each one of them bathed in an eerie radiation.

She'd plucked a card out skillfully well before he'd told her to, sometime when it was making shapes. Until the cards were finished playing around, she once again began to tap her foot in impatience, and idly rubbed her fingernails against her chest in a show to clean them in her boredom. The crowd giggled.

"A surprise, huh? It'll have to be better than your parade of shadow-bunnies." As she said this, she held the card out to the audience, and when they'd all gotten a peak, and the ones who hadn't were whispered to, she took a gander herself.

"Okay, Magic-man. Done."

When Freya chimed that she was done, he turned around without lowering his hand from his eyes. “Hm?! Finished already? That was fast…” He mused thoughtfully before using his free hand to blindly search around for the deck. “It’s better that I keep my eyes closed during this; that way I won’t accidently influence the will of the cards.” He explained while wandering, eventually going off track, and being nowhere near the objects he desired.

After almost running into the audience and with a little help by way of being pointed in the right direction, he was finally standing before them. “Alright! My turn.” He stated with a chuckle before plucking a card from the air and opening his eyes with a gasp to check the illustration.

“By the way, the object of the game is to get a higher ranked card than the other person. However, getting the six means you lose.” He showed his card to the audience, but it quickly began to spin out of his grasp, as did Freya’s, both emitting a humming sound for several moments before they froze without warning.

A torrent of cool, refreshing water then gushed from the card Freya chose; a volume which was much more than what should be physically possible to hold in such a small object spraying over her. He laughed, eyes flashing, having won the round.

“This is not such a simple game of luck, mi’lady! Though the attribute is an integral part, there are much more mysterious forces at play here.” He hummed as the audience gave a good laugh to what had just happened.

“Heh heh heh… Lucky for you it’s the best two out of three.” The two cards then flipped themselves back into the deck as it once more began to shuffle itself in its speedily, ostentatious fashion, preparing to lay the cards out as it had before. The magician turned around once more and covered his eyes, waiting, but leaving Freya with a last word of advice.

“Don’t be so hasty! Wait for it! Feel the card that speaks to you.”

Oh great. She had rotten luck. This would not bode well for the red-head. Already, her patience was wearing thin. It had been too long since his last trick and the suspense was going to kill her.

Oh, but nothing could cool one's head better than a torrent of water dumping down on them. It'd happened too fast, and when it was finished, she stood shivering, could almost cry at how it'd ruined the fine silks she was wearing.

"...Raaazzziiiiiii...!" she whispered harshly through clenched teeth, an apparent look of anger on her face. He could have at the very least warned her, and now she was left cold and shivering, being laughed at - she was nobody's fool, hands balling into fists, restraining herself from unleashing the full fury of her whip on him, know that if she did, she'd probably be taking this little act in a different direction than he wanted to go. If it happened a second time, though, she would not be able to hold herself back.

Her arms folded across her endowed chest in modesty, where the fabric was now clinging to her every curve. It was at this point that it was very likely only half the crowd was paying attention to the show, the male half, of course, hungrily getting an eyeful.

"May the Gods protect you if something like that happens again..." her words were venomous and grave, painting him a little picture of what might happen to him were something similar happen to her. She did not like water. She did not like being spontaneously drenched, about as much as a cat wouldn't, and this was obvious.

Still with one arm covering herself, she reached out with the other, her digits spreading across the cards to hover little more than an inch away.

"I'll feel my boot in your face, Magician!" she seethed and snatched up the choice beneath her fingertips. With a little fancy hand work, showing off her own slight of hand talent she'd acquired over the years, she showed the audience.

He seemed to ignore her threats and complaints, letting her words roll down his back, though the audience’s verbal reactions of laughter and snickers made his shoulders shake with silent laughter. Truly he wasn’t concerned with possible repercussions from the woman, if there were any at all. This was the magician’s show after all, and though if she really didn’t want to participate and left, he’d accept it; a total derailment wouldn’t be allowed.

Still, he thought she might’ve picked a card a bit too hastily but it was an improvement since the last time so he made no comment about it. Again he reached blindly for the floating cards, this time proving to be much more capable of finding their location than the last time. He paused and slowly waved his hand centimeters away from each before finally picking one himself. “Mmmmhm!” He sounded pleased while eyeing the object.

With a laugh he flipped it and showed it to the audience, eyes opening and reflecting sunlight. Again the cards pulled out of their respective holder’s hands and spun rapidly while humming. Razi gazed intently at them before lifting his gaze to look at Freya, a very amused glint in his eye before he winked at her. The cards then halted; the winner to now be decided.

From the card, a giant trout with scales a metallic black and shimmering shot forth from the small object. With wide yellow eyes and gaping abyss of a mouth, the large fish flailed through the air and then landed with an audible splat against Freya’s chest to send her falling flat on the ground. The trout seemed content with its position against her soggy bosom and didn’t move at first before squirming slightly almost as if it was snuggling against her.

“Ohhh…” Razi purred with disappointment in his voice, the sound back dropped by the roar of laughter given off by the audience. His shoulders fell, but only for a moment before he perked back up, much more jovial in attitude than necessary. “Looks like you lose! Better luck next time, yes?” He chuckled, looking down at Freya.

The cards, having fulfilled their purpose gathered up and then flew back into the magician’s hand before he slipped them back into his robe. “Are you alright?”

She'd seen the glint in his eyes. It registered only a moment before the winner was revealed, as her eyes went large, just beginning to prepare what sort of nonsense could next be heaved at her. However, this was no bucket of water, and nothing could have helped her brace for the blow of a giant wriggling fish. The woman had braced herself, but the weight of the massive thing sent her toppling down. Her back was on the ground before she'd known what to think of it all, staring up at the sky in a daze, the laughter seemingly distant, coming from behind an invisible wall somewhere. Ah yes, the calm before the storm...

Her graceful features twisted into one of rage. Not only had she lost, but she'd been humiliated as well. He'd asked if she was alright. She met his with a fierce green gaze, a precursor to what was about to happen to him.

"You've soaked my new clothing..." she breathed quietly, nudging the aquatic monster off in order to rise, which she did very slowly, never taking her eyes off the Magician. "...You've smacked me with a fish... and you've made me a fool..."

When she reached her full height once more, she held her head high ...with the flopping fish in her right hand by the tail.

"I'm nobody's jester!"

With an wide and evil grin, she reeled back and sent the trout sailing, smacking Razi with full force across his jaw.

"You want summore, Magic Man!? I'll beat the shit out of you!" One again, the fish was held high and came down on his head. At this point, the on-lookers may as well not exist. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and she would not kill him, but by Gods, she'd teach him a lesson!

At first the magician had paid little attention to Freya. Amongst the laughter and applause from the audience, he bowed; his attention to them though he clearly heard her annoyed words. Coins were eagerly tossed into a hat made of shadow that had quickly appeared at the front row of the audience.

He shook his head slowly, his eyes closing for a moment as he turned to Freya, hoping she wasn’t too dazed. Razi had planned to help her up, to assure her that it was all merely for show and there was no mal intent involved. He wasn’t sorry of course, the cards make their own decisions; her drawing the Water and Fish cards were not his conscious doing.

When he had turned to face her however, his eyes just reopening with an expression that seemed to say ‘thanks’, he caught her grin, instantly becoming curious. With no time to react, he caught the swung trout in the jaw, the heavy fish forcing his head to jerk to the side though the rest of him stayed suspiciously in place. Razi was completely surprised by the hit and froze in place, only blinking rapidly in response before catching Freya’s words along with the second, downward swing. He nearly fell, body lurching forward and down before he caught himself, eyes suddenly thinning in irritation.

Razi jumped back then, one hand rubbing the back of his hooded head, mirror eyes blazing. His free hand rose and a small bolt of black fired from his palm and smacked into the trout turned weapon. Instantly, the fish exploded into a thick cloud of darkness that enveloped Freya with the purpose of causing her to stall.

Razi flexed his jaw, murmuring nothing in particular to himself prior to actually speaking. “Now now, Freya… That is no way to treat the performer…” It was quite obvious by the strain in his voice that he was holding back from doing something exceedingly rash and likely violent. “If you didn’t want to be the jester, perhaps you shouldn’t have agreed to participate…”

He straightened his shoulders then and cleared his throat, the air about him lightening immensely after doing so. Suddenly he no longer felt like performing, though he knew that this current ‘act’ would still draw the audience’s interest. He waited for Freya to show herself once more, his hand now rubbing his sore chin, head tilted just slightly to the side.

She panted for a brief moment, so much effort exerted from flailing around such a wily and heavy object. On the third swing, though, her beau countered, turning the fish into a giant swirl of shadow. Her hands lowered slowly, and Freya allowed herself to be enveloped. Sunlight sank away, the darkness giving her a chance to compose herself. The grin had remained, but the burning of her eyes began to subside. Raking a hand back through her hair, she passed the aggression off as her only becoming caught up in a crowd of people, having so much attention on her. Being a bandit, it had made her a bit uneasy. True, heads turned where ever she went, but this was one of those times that playing a role had made her far too excited.

When the dark clouds began to lift, and the sheen of her hair was once more visible, she grinned at him, nothing behind it but joy now. Her feet carried her forward. As she passed the magician, her hand rose to cup the side of his face, tilting her head at him in return.

"If you weren't prepared to get hit in front of a group of people, you shouldn't have chosen me in the first place. You think I would have backed down from that little challenge?"

"No worries, Razi..." she continued past him, glancing over her shoulder. "...You can get me back later, m kay?"

The red-head made a quick beeline through the crowd, taking more time in coming out the other side than it would normally take a person. However, when she had emerged, she was re-tying the satchel of coins on her belt, headed over to her leashed steed nonchalantly.

Freya mounted Fledge and let him loose, steering the beast back towards the performance arena, waiting patiently for the happy people to dissipate.

...The chance to whack someone with a giant fish didn't come along so often. How could she have resisted?

When Freya disappeared into the crowd, he grinned inwardly, shaking his head once more. There was something about that girl that just tickled the magician in a way he couldn’t describe and hadn’t felt in such a long time. He had watched her as she left, mirror eyes glinting as she sashayed her way between bodies. Eventually he caught himself and with a small laugh focused back onto the audience.

It didn’t take long for him to draw a close to the show. A couple small and fast shadow illusions to act as a finisher and he was done for the day. Some more coins found themselves falling into the shadow hat; along with some murmurs from some regarding having apparently misplaced or forgotten something.

Eventually the crowd began to disperse and Razi sighed contently with their departure. A few stragglers still lingered however, curious to speak with the magician and ask where he came from and when he would be back. Graciously, he engaged each of them, not seeming in much of a rush to get rid of the attention and actually appeared quite happy that some found greater interest in him. As he spoke to a rather short gentleman about some of the intricacies of shadow magic which Razi was sure was going right over the man’s head in terms of understanding. Continuing his in vain explanation, he spied the familiar redhead atop a horse a little away.

His eyes flickered before tearing them away from her to focus on the man. It didn’t take long to make up some excuse about having somewhere to be to send the man on his way. Razi was alone now and he chuckled softly to himself before moving to pick up the shadow hat. He slipped the object inside his robe, the hat, seeming to simply stop existing once it disappeared within the confines of the fabric. The final location of the money it contained was unknown to all but him, but was readily available should he ever need a few coins for something.

Stretching his arms above his head he began to walk towards Freya, stopping beside where she was seated atop the large creature.

“Look at you, my dear Freya; last time I saw you, you were so… Not as you are now.” He laughed. “Seems you’re doing pretty well for yourself... Would you be so kind as to tell me what has brought about this wondrous change of luck?”

She would be watching him every time he passed a glance at her. She was unabashed in her staring, and smile a little every time she caught the reflections of his eyes. She'd mused they were acting a lot like teenage lovers, floundering around in that honeymoon phase where you couldn't help but look at one another and feel all warm and squishy on the inside.

"That's the fellow I was telling you about," she leaned down to whisper into the horse's ear, which flicked at her close proximity. She then sat back and relaxed her shoulders, slumping on the saddle. "I haven't seen his bad side yet... Hopefully it's not too much for me to handle. Haven't met many who were, but he's fairly unpredictable. In fact, that's why I like him so much!"

The horse bent down and began munching on the soft grass absently, which prompted Freya to give his sides a little kick, "Hey, are you even listening?!" Fledge whinnied back.

By the time her one-sided conversation had ended, she perked up to the sight of the magician making a path towards her, and turned her attention down to the side when he came to stand beside her.

"I'm not out-of-my-mind-drunk, if that's what you mean." With a little smirk and a head-tilt, she added, "I'm always fairly well off when I want to be, Love. The horse and the clothes, specifically, were gifts from a Morrim Military General. Apparently, Fledge here is supposed to be cursed, but we've been getting along fairly well I'd say. Oh, here."

She turned to untie the money bag, tossing it over to him. "Some spectators gave me this to give to you. Apparently they thought the show was worth a good amount of dough. Maybe they thought it'd get stolen if such an amount was put into a hat? Haha..."

Freya trailed off, eyes rising to the sky suspiciously, trying to pass off something of an angelic appearance and failing.

"So, where to, Hot Stuff? I'll be your chauffeur for the evening."

“Yes, that’s exactly what I meant!” He chimed with a clap before lightly tapping his chin with the tip of his index finger. “I quite liked it.” He chuckled, referring to and fondly remembering the time they had spent together. Razi breathed a sigh while listening to her explanation on how she had come across the new clothes and the horse. She seemed very well connected if she could receive gifts from a person of such standing; and from Morrim too, he had met someone from there a bit ago as well. They must be doing some scouting in other lands or something.

He caught the bag of coins in cupped hands before glancing up to look at Freya curiously. “Heh.. heheh…” He then erupted into laughter, tossing his head back, shoulders shaking enthusiastically.

“Oh!” His laughter was cut off as his head jerked back to level; eyes flashing as he quickly deposited the very generous offering into the opening in his robe. “How very useful you are my dearest Freya!” He crooned, very thankful for her use of skills to bring in more gold. “You should pop into my shows more often…” He purred at her.

Razi glanced at the horse, Fledge she had called him hesitantly for a moment before speaking. “A horse? I am not truly familiar with such transport I must say.” He admitted, a tinge of sheepishness in his voice. He looked beyond the horse now, beginning to lightly stroke the side of its neck in absent thought. “Even less with how… Two… Could fit on one.”

“As to where to go…” He sighed and shrugged, leaning forward lightly against the side of the horse, eyes half closed in thought. His finger ran gently in small circles along Freya’s knee as he spoke. “I dunno. Was going to wander around here a bit and go where the wind takes me.” There was a pause before he continued.

”Is there any specific place you’d like to see, or would you like to simply explore together?”

"I bet you did," she laughed back, quirking her brow and shaking her head. "Oh, and I do remember everything about that night, up to and including the part where you said you wouldn't take to ravishing a drunk chick. That didn't work too well, did it?" A smitten sigh escaped her lips as they curled into a pleased little grin of fond memories.

With the eruption of laughter coming from the magician, she blinked and found her way back presently, eying him like the mad man he was, but not without losing her smile. His antics were wholly welcome, as everything he did threw her off her game. There was no predicting him. The feeling was somewhat similar to how a person with uncontrollable telepathic abilities found someone they couldn't listen in on. A breath of fresh air, for certain.

His sudden return to his previous non-cackling state gave her a bit of a start, as did the steed, taking an awkward step forward away from the crazy man, only to be forced back to his previous location by his rider.

"I'd love to pop into your shows more often, among popping into other things... But no more surprises!" she chuckled. "I could hardly control myself with everyone watching. I get a little limelight and I wanna take it too far. How could I not whack you with a fish, Razi? How often is there a giant trout available for bludgeoning?" She presented him with a pair of big, irresistible doe eyes.

"Exploring sound nice..." she said finally, glancing around the square. "Two people fit just fine on one horse. This one, in particular is used to lugging around burly men in full suits of armor. He'll be just fine. C'mon, get behind me."

Freya held and arm down to help him up. She'd prefer not to leave Fledge alone for fear he'd be stolen, similar to the way she stole horses, and she'd grown too attached to lose him already. Not to mention, after the last shadow-traveling experience, she'd rather not. Not that landing in his arms was a problem, but she hadn't much cared for the spinning her head was doing afterward, nor the directional confusion it'd provoked.

If he were capable of blushing, he certainly would have been in response to her words. “Well… The best laid plans of mice and men…” He murmured mostly to himself as memories of the night in which he first encountered Freya came to his mind as well. Indeed it was not his initial intention for things to go the way they had, but that wasn’t to say he was sorry about the end result, quite the contrary actually. “I’m glad things turned out the way they did.”

His eyes seemed to brighten at her desire to be in more of his shows. The magician had never really thought of a performance that had two main stars, but now the idea was in his head. “Heh… I’m afraid surprise is the name of the game; the best I can do is to go through, with you, some of the possible outcomes.” He laughed then, not as crazed as usual. His mind had moved on now to the various things he’d have to share with Freya if she were to truly decide to become a part of his shows.

He loved that he had presented her with something that she had not seen or been able to experience before and he loved even more that she appreciated it. “Not very often, not at all.” He answered with a shake of his head, smirking inwardly at her large eyes. His hand absently went to rub the side of his face where she had whacked him with the fish; the animal packed a wallop after all.

The magician paused, humming to himself as he looked the horse over. In his mind he was fiddling with the idea of just using his Shadow Gate skill to transport the three of them to wherever they needed to be. That thought, however needed to take into consideration the horse itself, which the magician was sure would cause it a great fright. From his experience, animals very rarely took kindly to feeling disoriented and confused.

Razi took Freya’s arm graciously and gingerly, with her assistance, managed to get himself onto the horse behind her. He chuckled, seemingly a tad uncomfortable being on top of the creature. “Now…” He wrapped his arms comfortably around Freya’s waist, thinking now of how he had seen horses being controlled by others.

“Giddy up!” He gave the horse a good kick in the side, hoping to get it moving.

"Mm, I'm glad too," she looked down on him in adoration, and possibly a bit of lust in there somewhere. After her first love, no man had yet been able to get even close to this point, where she would return to them for as long as they wanted her. The feeling he gave her was both excitement and terror, terror because she knew that if things continued in such a wonderful way, she could see herself handing her heart over to him for the breaking.

"Well, tell you what," she grinned, breaking her chain of thought. "You supply the magic and pick someone else to volunteer for your little game, and I'll sift through the audience, working my own magic. I'll come up to the stage only when you really need a body that needs trust in you for something. I don't wanna steal your thunder and end up hurting you again."

She used her arm to pull him up, allowing him to slide off once he situated himself behind her. The animal took a step to the right, adjusting himself to the added weight. All seemed well ...until Fledge was kicked in the side. Yeah, he'd gotten the horse moving alright.

The warhorse reared up with an angry whinny and bolted off into the crowded streets of Madrid, caring little for the patrons in its way. Freya gasped and wrapped the reigns tighter around her arm, giving a good tug on them to keep him from going out of control and smashing into someone's stall, or worse, trampling a child.

"Knock it off Fledge!" she hollered. The horse's ear twitch and, eventually, he came to a clattering, displeased trot.

"Uhm, Sugar-lips?" she glanced over her shoulder at the taller male. "Why don't you let me do the driving, okay?" With an index finger, she curled it at him, beckoning for him to lean down and come closer.

Meanwhile, Fledge got his head back, and continued in an easy pace down the street towards the outskirts of town.

“Awww…” He sounded disappointed at first when she said she would rather not be in the show itself, but instead work the audience. It didn’t take long for him to reconsider his stance once she hinted that she’d be able to provide a little extra income to the shoes.

“On second though, I’m liking that idea…” He smirked, his mirror eyes flashing mischievously when she added that she didn’t want to hurt him again. “Oh don’t worry about that… You can hurt me whenever you’d like.” He laughed at his own joke, though the offer was actually a genuine one. The magician appreciated the fact that Freya didn’t want to come off too strong during the performance and garner all the attention, though in truth he wouldn’t mind that to happen every once in a while.

As the horse bolted through the city, the magician threw back his head and laughed like the crazed madman that he was. As the wind blew into his bandaged face, he held onto Freya with one arm, the other waving above him in the air; a resounding ‘wee!’ echoing through the air. The whole thing was exhilarating and he was fully enjoying himself as people jumped and dodged out of the path of the runaway warhorse while Freya desperately tried to regain control.

When Fledge finally did become calm, his laughter had died down to only a lingering chuckle. “Yessss?” He hissed pleasantly at Freya, batting eyelashes at her innocently. He smirked inwardly at her request, leaning downward to affectionately nuzzle the back of her neck.

“Okay.” He murmured against her, breathing in her scent. “Heh heh… You control this mount so well, I’m impressed with your reaction time.”

When he came down at her call, she bent back in an amazing show of flexibility, arching away from him until she was able to lean her head face back enough to comfortably look up at him.

"I'll control your mount," she grinned, reaching up to catch the back of his neck and pull him into a kiss through the bandages. It was never just a peck with Freya. She opened her mouth to him and bit gently on where she found his lower lip to be, slowly closing her eyes before they rolled back into her head. His loony antics drove her wild, her attraction towards him exploding into flames every time he did something she never would have predicted, up to and including the stunt with Fledge. It was getting to a point where she couldn't control it.

Eventually, the severe back-bend was becoming uncomfortable, and she broke it in order to sit back up. When she did, a quick glance around revealed many men with their mouths gaping, and a mother covering the eyes of her small child. She smirked at herself and gave Fledge another kick, much lighter than Razi's, and the horse broke into a slower gallop until they exited the population, whereupon the gallop grew to the warhorse's fast pace, arriving soon where stone turned to dirt, and dirt turned to grass. Once they broke into the treeline, the steed slowed.

"Razi, I have this itch..." she began, seemingly very concerned as she tilted her head to the side. "And I was hoping you could lend me a hand in scratching it."

They'd traveled far away enough from the city to be fairly alone. The danger of being found though, she admitted to herself, was something she could say she didn't wholly dislike.

“Mmm… No doubt you could.” He cooed before being lowered into the kiss, enjoying how much fervor Freya always put into it as he responded in kind, despite the small barrier between them. He found himself simply adoring the redhead more and more the longer she was around him; loving not only the affection she showed him, but also the way she was genuinely interested in

When the kiss was over, his eyes glinting as he took to fanning himself with his hand. “Oh, how you woo me dearest Freya…” Razi then too noticed the surprising amount of attention that their act had drawn and couldn’t help but erupt into laughter as Fledge began running once more. He enjoyed making a scene with this one; never before had he had so much on a level like this with someone without it being a conscious, preconceived effort.

“I think I rather like this horse riding business.” He noted aloud as they raced across the land. The magician merely viewed the changing the landscape as they continued onward, eyes narrowed in contentment. He was leaned forward, arms wrapped around the one in front of him while he gazed over her shoulder.

“Oh?” He asked, perking up suddenly at Freya’s statement. “Where is it? Here?” He began lightly tickling at the woman’s upper back, attempting to soothe a literal itch. The magician continued this, randomly moving down Freya’s spine to tickle at a spot, accenting his movements with a chimed ‘Here?’

“Or maybe…” His hands then trailed down to her knees, cupping them with his hands. His fingertips began lightly drifting upwards along her thighs while he leaned in slightly and gave the softest of snickers in her ear.

As usual, his antics never went unnoticed by the red-head, cracking a smile at each cheesy joke. In the woods, bathed in streams of sunlight darting through the impressive canopy, she grinned as she continued to watch him over her shoulder. Freya giggled quietly as he attempted to find the supposed itch, playing along with him by shaking her head 'no' each time her asked. That is, until his hands reached her thighs, compelling her to suck in a breath of excitement. Magicians had wonderful hands... At least this one did.

"...You've almost found it," she purred. "But... I don't think Fledge would appreciate you scratching me while we're still sitting on his back..." She reached behind herself to caress the back of his head before daintily hopping off the warhorse, taking steps backwards to wanderer further and further into the brushes. A seductive index finger curled forward, calling for him to follow as the other hand expertly unfastened her belt.

"Come here, Magic Man. I think I might need both of those detachable hands for this..." She was quickly disappearing, and just might if he didn't hurry it up.

Freya once again reflected on how she couldn't recall the last time she felt this way, particularly because of it being the influence of the opposite sex. No, she remembered, and it had been a long, long time. He likely had no idea what a gift he was giving her, and how much she would protect it.
