Failure, something Freya LaShale was still a novice at accepting... It was bred into her that there was nothing worse in the world than losing, thus it had begun to take a fair tole on the pretty re-head. It consumed her mind so wholly that she didn't even remember to find a place to sleep tonight. Instead, she had wandered into the first bar she'd seen, purchased a nice-sized bottle of Whiskey, and commenced drinking it right from its mouth on the busy city street of Ildri. After a few painful swigs, the taste wasn't getting to her as much, and more went down smoothly until she stopped tasting it at all. Her cheeks were flush, practically the color of her hair, and the warmer her body became, the more clothes she was just discarding without regard to the probability of her losing them completely tonight. So, decked out in little more than her shirt, tea-stained with a low neck, the sleeves falling off both shoulders and cut just beneath her bust, and the patchwork pants which were probably her only pair of pants, she wandered drunkenly... Thieves had taken advantage of the situation, stealing the only money she had on her, but the necessity of money was far from her mind. If anything, she was glad to have the weight off her hip. They had attempted to steal Lucille as well, but hell seemed yet to have such scorn as a woman... particularly a wasted one looking to cut somebody. Such a huge city, and the sick feeling of loneliness still wouldn't let her go. She parked herself outside against a wall, turning her face to the sky, and rubbed a hand on her face. It remained there, due to the fact that once that was done, she didn't know really what to do with it, nor did she care. A passer-by mistook her for a beggar and tossed her some charity in the form of coins. They landed in her lap, and directly proceeding, her blade was drawn and being shaken in the nice man's face and he stared wide-eyed at her while she yelled at him in slurrs. He'd run off, of course, but the commotion had drawn the peacekeepers. "Ma'am, you can't be drunk in the streets like this..." one nudged her boot with his. Freya's eyes slowly rolled upwards at him, and she blinked slowly as if she couldn't comprehend a word he was saying. Regardless... "Where d'you s'pose I do this then?! HMM!?" another swig of the bottle. "Thieves stole my money. I have none left for a room..." "Then you can share ours," offered the other. "C'mon. Up you get." He reached down in an attempt to take her arm. "Besides... pretty little thing like you? Some fellows might get the idea to take advantage... Heh..." The guard's partner eyed him, knowing exactly what he planned to do. A moral itch of guilt crawled up the back of his neck, but... who would care? "Sure, why not..." she allowed him to take her arm and, with a little struggle, was finally standing - rather, swaying - on both feet again. "I don't care. Do with me what you will. What use am I anyways?" "You hear? She even consents! You want in on this, Bullik?" Oh, well, if she consents... Bullik, as he was now called, shrugged in compliance, "Sure, but we gatta get her out of here fast before anyone sees..." |

The shadow magician had wanted to visit the city of Ildri; just as he had wanted to visit every city that he heard rumors about. However, now that he was here, he didn’t seem to be paying much attention to the sights. In fact, he didn’t seem to be paying attention to much of any of his surroundings. A small black book was held in his left hand, the cover immaculate and shiny, possessing that ‘new’ look. His head was bowed; face much closer to the pages than need be considering his eyesight was nowhere near fading. His footsteps were silent and that, combined with his currently aloof demeanor was simply begging for collisions with anyone who happened to be on the road that day. Fancy footwork kept that fate at bay however as he managed to weave through busy crowds and expertly dodge moving carts and stationary food stalls. Only a few people seemed to pay the strange male any attention and those who did shook their heads pitifully as it soon became clear to them that he had no idea where he was going. It was a wonder if he had a destination at all; a good five times he had passed by the same stalls, strolling down the same street; his origin changing with each lap. Once, a good samaritan approached him, asking if he were lost, but Razi merely waved her away, muttering ‘busy, busy, busy’ to himself before disappearing round a corner only to appear once more ten minutes later. Eventually, the magician stopped appearing, his legs taking him in a new direction to explore other areas of the city. Still though, the one on this walking tour paid no attention and as one curious brow raiser remarked to a friend, there was nothing written in the book he seemed so occupied with. After a short while of this, his odd behavior began to end. The magician stopped in his tracks as a conversation seemed to break the spell that blocked out all outside distractions from his ‘reading’. His gaze did not avert from its focus and he very gently flipped to the next, still blank page in his book before he interjected himself into the situation at hand. “Ehhhhh? See what, your shameless display of a lack of ethics? No no, none here have seen that…” The voice of the magician cut through the scene with ease, his tone sharp, curt and sarcastic. The two guards paused in their actions, momentarily surprised by the swift response to Bullik’s comment and neither of them really knowing exactly how to respond at first. The bolder of the two turned towards where the voice had come from, eyeing the tall, robed newcomer skeptically as still seemed to be absorbed with his book. “Hey, she consented! Back off.” The guard barked, his words only seeming to garner a response of dark laughter from the one with the overly bandaged face. Razi lowered the hand that held the book slightly, his mirror-like eyes rolling up to focus on the guards. “Karma is a terrible thing after all.” He mused aloud, his tone tinged with sadness as if what he spoke of had already taken place. “Such fine men such as yourselves… Would be a shame if you fell victim to it.” He shook his head, raising the book back to its original location in front of his face, his next string of words followed by a more subdued version of his dark laughter. “Yes… A terrible shame indeed.” |

At the interruption, Freya's eyes lazily found their way to the new party, instantly fascinated by his appearance and the way he entered the business of others with hardly a batting lash. Peculiar indeed. She would have wanted to know the man were she not so distracted at the moment by the word 'failure'. Yeah... what good was she? What was her use being here, if not to play to the fancies of the city guards, or really anyone who happened upon her. The bolder of the two seemed to have taken the stranger's comments personally, "Are you threatening us?" He glared. Bullik gave the other guard a tug on his arm, "You've been bested, Havard. Let's go. We ought not to have thought such things in the first place and you're gonna get yourself hurt again like last time." Havard's glare re-directed itself to Bullik, and finally eased up. Bullik was wearing that 'you know I'm right' expression. And he was. Ildri's guards were among the more sensible kind of forces. Without a goodbye, they left to assume their duties. All anyone had had to do was acknowledge their conversation. Now, back within the thralls of nowhere to be and nothing to do, the girl sank back down to the ground. It was more comfortable there. She said nothing, half embarrassed at her own display, half... not really caring about anything, so why speak? Instead, she drank a little more. Tasted like water now... Still, from time to time, she would glance upwards at the man, straining to see the strip on his face without bandages. She couldn't help but be curious... |

Inwardly the magician smiled to himself as the guard, Havard’s partner, talked his friend out of starting what would most certainly have become just more trouble and a very big inconvenience for everyone involved. Razi didn’t look up as they left and merely waited for them to vanish from sight before actually moving. Now that the situation had been defused, the little black suddenly wasn’t as interesting as it had been only minutes prior. With a barely audible sigh he closed the book using the hand that held it; the object seeming to vanish in a small display of puffs of shadow. He clapped his hands together, the remnants of the book’s disappearance falling from his gloves. Now that he no longer had his nose stuck in the book, the magician seemed quite fidgety and restless with hands at his sides, fingertips drumming against his thighs. His foot tapped silently against the ground as he rapidly flicked his gaze around the square, looking for something. In truth he was trying to decide if the space would be good enough to hold a show. He moved around to view what was before him at various angles before the side of his shoe brushed up against something. Sharply he lowered his head to see what it was, putting the drunken red head square in his sights. He couldn’t help but chuckle quietly at her, his broad shoulders bobbing as he did so, mirror eyes glinting. “Why hello there poor, unfortunate soul!” He greeted her with way too much enthusiasm. “What has gotten you down on this fine day?” He paused then, moving a finger to his chin, looking thoughtful. “Other than a lack of balance that is.” |

Indeed, back beneath the wings of self-pity's glorious embrace. She took another long drink when she felt the distraction finally fade and the pain set back in. She couldn't seem to escape it, and as she looked at the bottle, she wondered how exactly getting plastered had helped her escape. It really hadn't. Eventually, she noted the air in which the strange fellow had once occupied. Because there wasn't anything else to watch, she began to watch him through the unkempt tesses of her bangs which hung messily down into her face. Odd bird. She wondered what he was trying to do, but didn't ask. Then soon, he found his way back around to her, nudging her accidentally with his foot. She batted at the air where it used to be as if that would help anything. When he laughed, he gained her attention fully, green eyes flicking up at him in a dead stare. She was not as amused as he was. "I'm not unfortunate," she corrected him angrily. "Don't you dare call me that again. It's your only warning." She didn't state why her face was long, or laugh at his joke, which she knew was funny. It was. Because she was tired of looking up at him and straining his neck, and she knew this would turn into some kind of conversation, she put her hands to the ground and pushed herself up back onto two legs, her curvy hips swaying fluidly as she did until she found solid grounding. With that solid grounding, she found her back leaning against an outside wall. The alcohol was left at her feet. Freya crossed her arms over her chest and stared at him shamelessly, now able to see him in better detail. It was no mistake she was staring at his bandaged face in fascination. "What do you want?" she asked sharply. "Did you get rid of those guys just to have me to yourself, hmm? You feel like taking advantage of me as well? There's..." her eyes dropped. Her arms unfolded. She sighed,"...such a shortage of good men these days... Good people, period, really." |

“Oh! Well I’ll be sure to maybe not do that. Today.” He responded to her angry correction, sounding offended though from the words themselves, it was clear that he truly wasn’t. They stared at each other in silence before she finally stood and crossed her arms, leaning against the wall. She wasn’t as incapable of balance as he thought much to his disappointment; drunken people falling all over themselves were instant gold in his mind. Razi was fully aware of the fact that she looking at his face, and he stared back at her, attempting to mimic the look in her eyes as he took to examining her hair and features. Curiosity was not something that he would ever encourage people to shy away from so he was actually kind of happy that she was so unabashed. Normally people only attempted to catch a glimpse of his visage in short, quick flick of the eyes as if being caught staring him in the face was a sin. “Oh how true.” He agreed with her about the lack of good people in the world, lament in his voice. “And sadly I cannot say that I am one of them.” He shrugged. “What I can say is that I am a lowly magician, traveling this land in search of a few spare coins.” He paused then, looking upwards at an angle as he continued. “I could also say that I’m searching for treasure and way back to where I herald from, but I digress.” A light chuckle followed. “Now as for taking advantage of you… Hmmm…” He seemed to consider it deeply for a moment, tilting his head and giving her the once over with his eyes. “That depends, what can you do for me?” He asked, poking the ends of his forefingers together idly. “Can you juggle? Sing? Dance? Anything that would inspire the people to toss coins at you?” His hand returned to his chin, this time stroking it. “If so, I’d love to take advantage of you if that was what you meant.” Edited by Guess, Jun 16 2009, 01:13 AM.

She never asked him who he was or where he came from. Those were specifics she never asked anyone, didn't care to ask. Telling it all out-right made it no fun to hold a conversation. She wanted to figure these things out for herself. Regardless, the damage was done. So he was a magician. Might explain the whole mysterious appearance thing. Yet, it didn't do anything to quell the need to see beyond those bandages... especially when the only glimpse she got were a pair of outright odd eyes. She couldn't recall seeing any two that were stranger, or nearly as hypnotic. "Hmm..." she pressed a finger to her lips, humoring him by thinking. "I could take my shirt off. That'd be a sure fire way to bring in the gold... But," she gave him a wry smile. At least she was smiling. "...playing toy poodle for you seems too troublesome for a hammered lil' girl like me to do. So I suppose not. And you know very well what I meant, don't pretend that you didn't." He green eyes flicked back to the mesmerizing mirrored ones, holding within them a certain spell of their own. "I hate it when you fellas play coy. Always playing games..." Her attention fell to the odd place between his gloves and the sleeves of his shirt. "So, why the bandages? Are you anything at all under there besides one big shadow, Magician?" she gave him the same look-over she had given him. She wasn't dumb. The space where his eyes were, added to the phenomenon along his arms, it was her best guess. And of course, a mysterious wandering magician would be some kind of weird creature. It didn't seem to deter her any, though. His body was more than average. She wouldn't mind gripping those shoulders of his for a night of drunken forgetfulness. ...Or maybe it was the booze talking? |

When the woman humored him, he swelled with happiness, though he didn’t laugh. If there was one thing that Razi enjoyed more than putting on a performance, it was when the audience participated in said performance. The general unpredictability that audience response usually brought with them was what the magician thrived on. It was much more fun to do a show that way compared to ones filled with silence and ‘cold fish’ types. He sighed heavily, letting his head fall and slowly sway from side to side at the revelation that she would not actually take off her shirt for him. Peeking up at her from beneath the brim of his hood he would have grinned if she could see it. “I suppose it is for the best. After all, we shouldn’t go around corrupting the minds of innocent children.” A smile, no matter how big or small was still a smile and meant that he was doing his job, so even though the one she had wasn’t stretching from ear to ear, it was indeed a start. “True.” He said plainly in regards to her calling him out. “But at times I do like to fancy myself a gentleman who wouldn’t be so quick to take to ravishing a woman not sober.” His eyes cut her a look as he straightened himself, brushing his hands over his chest. “No matter how much she may want the opposite. He laughed then. “Oh? And here I was under the impression that it was the women who were the game masters… Are you sure you would want to relinquish that title? It will surely come in handy at some point.” Listening quietly as she asked about his various garb, he chuckled quietly, bringing the side of his hand to the place where his mouth would be. “Ah, wouldn’t that be… Predictable… A giant shadow playing with shadows…” His words were quiet and wistful, but then he made a clicking sound and a dismissive hand gesture. “Though I am not fully at liberty to disclose to you what exactly lies beneath the layer of masterfully woven fabric you see before you, I can assure you quite honestly that a giant shadow is what is not.” He laughed at his own words before beginning to lean his shoulder against the wall. “So, who do I have the pleasure of speaking to might I ask?” |

"At times, not always? So then it's not out of the question entirely? God, I love that word... ravishing..." "My name is Freya," she told him, her head following to where he chose to land on the wall at her side. She did the same, turning to face him completely, that sway in her hips again. Soon, the small grin was turning into a wider one. He certainly had a knack for keep her distracted. Probably a good magician, if his stage performance was anything like his casual conversation. She simply wanted to hear more from him, any words would do. It wasn't what he said, but the way he said them. "And the pleasure is mine. Not to flatter you, but it's only been half a minute and you already have my full attention. Probably the most interesting person I've met in a long time. Though..." she hiccuped, and stared longingly down at the bottle by her feet, "...that might be the booze. I think I got half the bottle down already." She lifted her head back up to him, "I'd be willing to share if you would be a gentleman and take me someplace safe, so I don't accidentally pass out here in the middle of the street tonight. That is, if you are willing to take on that responsibility... I complet-" she hiccuped again, "-ly... completely understand if you don't wanna." Freya waved her hand in dismissal for greater emphasis on how much she supposedly didn't care. Her vision blurred for a moment, and when she realized it, she also realized she was staring again. Slowly, her eyes still locked on him, she wiped her lips with the back of her hand. She almost seemed bewildered, even still, at the bandages. They were driving her insane. |

“I try to avoid absolutes. Believing that things in this world are made in simple black and white contrast is the ideology of fools.” He breathed a sigh of pity, shaking his head as the faces of several he had met and had the opportunity to speak with personally popped into his mind. “And not the fun kind.” “Ah, Freya…” He repeated the name slowly, sensually, rolling the ‘r’ off of the tip of his tongue. “I am Razi, shadow magician extraordinaire.” He introduced himself with a bow and a chuckle before returning to leaning against the wall. “Whether it be the booze or just my impeccable charm, I am glad that you find me of interest, Freya.” Razi himself had run into his fair share of bores around the world already, though he had to admit they were majorly outnumbered by the people of interest he had met. ”I’m pleased to let you know that you’re in the same boat!” He leaned in just slightly after that. “And that’s saying a lot considering I could be making some money right about now.” He winked at her. The magician listened and watched as Freya offered him some of her drink in return for a safe location to ride out her inebriation. Her hiccupping was vaguely charming to him, but not to the extent that he’d automatically agree to such a prospect. “Hm.” He thought over her proposition for several long moments once she finished, turning his head away from hers to look out over the square. When he returned to gazing, he had decided that he might as well. After all, his intended performance venue wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon so he’d have plenty of opportunity to make a few pounds of gold. “Alright, Ms. Freya, I accept your offer!” Razi then reached down to snatch up the bottle of liquor before looking back at Freya with a glint in his eye. “Now, hold on to something!” He warned her with a dark laugh. ”This might be disorienting…” The magician snapped his fingers and a large black shadow took shape on the wall that was being leaned against by the two of them. Since he was expecting its appearance the magician corrected his posture and stepped through the gate with ease, a moment later stepping out in a new location. Not having forgotten about his sudden companion, Razi assumed that the sudden lack of leaning support for Freya might be a bit detrimental to his gentleman act if he didn’t intervene. He stepped over to where he assumed Freya would come tripping through the gate and held his arms open to catch her. |

"And you are quite charming," she added in the middle of his ranting and let him continue. As he smile began to fade, another popped up when he told her she was just as interesting. She wouldn't have imagined that. She was nothing special, although the girl would love to think so. And he was even forgoing the chance to make some cash for her. How sweet. She did hope this wasn't the booze. She hoped this feeling of excitement would last. It had been such a long time since she'd even felt a glimmer of that lost emotion. Freya knew he would accept. Not that she thought he wouldn't pass on spending more time with her, but for mostly the same reason he held his arms out to catch her, and that was that tonight he was going to be a gentleman. It could have almost been a test, to see just how far he was willing to go with that. And oh, the tests would not end there, partially because it had also been too long since she had found one of his kind. "Hold on to something?" she blinked. "What is there to hold on to?" Too late. Her support vanished and down she went, coming through on the other side exactly as he had planned it, landing face-first into his chest. It took a moment for her to register what had just happened. Eyes darting around, she was in another environment. Inside somewhere. So he wasn't just a performer with cheap tricks, he was also the 'mage' sort of magician as well. She could almost shiver at the lack of control she had over this situation. Oh, but really, who cared? She was drunk. He was nice. ...Or so she had gathered from the first moments of meeting him. She could also be completely mistaken. "Mrf," she said into his shirt, then slowly, rose her head to stare up at him, blinking like an oblivious child, still very flushed already from the alcohol. But the expression soon vanished, and her eyes, which seemed to have aged much faster than the rest of her, retained their sleek, seductive nature. "So I was right. You're firm." A dumb smile spread. |

Razi laughed whole-heartedly at her joke. “So you were!” His eyes glinted with amusement. The magician was grateful that Freya was as free and receptive to his antics as she was; and fun in her own right as well. She certainly received kudos from him for that. Another thing that he was grateful for was that he hadn’t miscalculated and stood in the wrong spot when she fell through the gate. Though there was no doubt that he would have been upset and apologetic, the thunderous laughter at the situation probably wouldn’t have done much in his favor. He grinned inwardly at that, a light rumbling moving through his chest to go with the small laugh. The magician couldn’t help be move a hand to lightly stroke through that red hair of hers before helping her to her feet completely. “You can walk fine, yes?” He asked curiously, tilting his head just slightly. If she could, that was great, but if not, that was fine too; she wouldn’t have to travel a very long distance anyway. He hadn’t taken them very far, only a couple blocks away from where the square was located. Razi looked up at the sign above his head, craning his neck to the side to read the words “Muddy Duck” which were painted on the side in sloppy brown and black paint. He nodded at that, satisfied, before bringing his attention back to Freya. “I thought this would be a quaint little place.” He said to her with a pleased nod. “Never actually been here myself, but I’ve heard some good things.” The magician moved to open the door to the building, holding it so from outside so that Freya could enter first. The inn wasn’t the most glamorous and chic, but it was homely, comfortable and the people who worked there were very accommodating. Most importantly however was that it was cheap, something that was actually the deciding factor in coming here. Now all he had to do was hope that what word of mouth had passed on to him as valid. |

"Mm, but I like it here better," she purred, turning her face back into his chest before he decided to wander off. Freya stumbled a bit as her cerebellum got a chance to catch up with what her legs were doing anyway, but in the end she managed, glancing at the sign above the door absently before stepping inside with a nod and a thanks for his chivalrous gesture of opening the door. Once again, what a sweetheart, and she was becoming more enamoured of him by the moment. She had told herself to stop, to watch herself, for only a moment before deciding that she deserved to wander with him without any knowledge of where they were going or what was going to happen. She deserved to place her hope in someone, that perhaps they were worth the space they took. "Razi, are you coming?" she glanced behind her shoulder, coming to a stop just beyond the threshold. Already, she was accumulating all sorts of attention. By the way she was scantly clad, not to mention the natural beauty she was blessed with, people were beginning to look. But her attention remained undaunted, right on him and his bandages. She seemed to lavish him with it, hanging off his every word. The girl smiled gently at him when she finally realized what she was doing. It was nice... She wanted more of it... |

“Oh I’m sure.” He cooed back playfully as he moved. “It’s a wondrous place to be.” He watched as Freya stumbled a little before gaining her balance and making her way inside. The magician nodded at her question before traversing the doorway himself, having to duck ever so slightly in order to fit within the opening. His eyes traversed the space as he corrected his posture, bright gaze briefly washing over the faces of the various patrons. A couple of them dashed their eyes from his red haired companion to himself and back again, obviously not understanding why one with such an enchanting appearance was with the oddity that was Razi. He snickered lightly at the looks that Freya was receiving; there were a lot of envious males in the room, not that he mind at all. It was not often that the magician had someone on his arm, let alone someone who could soak up as much attention as he could when they first entered a space. Razi noted how Freya paid none of the others even the slightest bit of attention and looked at her with a warm expression reflected in his eyes. “My my, you’re very popular it seems.” He mused with interest before looking around again to find someone who would be of use to him now. “Pardon me for a moment, Freya.” He began, lightly touching the side of her arm as he nodded in the direction of the keeper of the inn. “I shall secure us a room.” With that, he whisked himself off to the bar area and stood in front of it as the keeper who was trying very hard not to look more than only slightly curious and he conversed. It took only about a minute before a deal was agreed upon for pricing. Normally board was a single flat rate, but sometimes the magician had a way with people that allowed for some wiggle room. This was one of those times. After reaching into his rob and withdrawing a few coins that he readily exchanged for a key, he nodded his gratitude before moving to return to his companion. Just as breezily as he had vanished from her side he returned, the key spinning around his index. “Shall we then?” He asked, offering the crook of his opposite arm for her to grab onto before he led her out of the main space. |

She nodded as he excused himself and wandered over to the barkeep. Left to her own devices, she idly tugged on the long sleeves of her shirt, causing more of her left shoulder to be exposed. It was simply idle fidgeting, but in public, doing this was keeping the male potion of the room's eyes on her, enough so that a large, scruffy man tilted back in his seat to ask her, "How much is he paying you? I'll double it." Freya grinned, a rage boiling within her at such an accusation. Regardless, she wanted to play. "Well," she began, nodding at the magician's back, "See those bandages? What used to be there was my payment. And from the looks of it, you probably could pay me double." She gave him a flirtatious wink and ran a hand silkily over her handle of her falchion blade. "Of course, it's an up front payment, so stand up and let me get that from you real quick..." The man blinked at her, looked back to Razi, then to her, and shook his head vigorously. "No? Are you sure?" she smiled shyly, still fingering the sword. Once again, the man shook his head vigorously. "Okay then... Guess you'll just have to leave me be then." When her companion returned, she eagerly wrapped her arm around his, giving the fellow one last little wink before being whisked away. She also snatched the bottle back from him and gave it another drink as they sank away from the public's eye. "You have a ways to catch up, Razi," she snickered, motioning to the bottle she now once again held. "I better see you chug the rest of this thing." |

Razi had missed the interaction between Freya and one of the patrons entirely which was too bad as he most certainly would have gotten a kick out of her words. If it was one thing that he knew was likely to diffuse a situation or put a fool in their place was a joke-themed threat of violence. For whatever reason, those seemed to be taken with a tad bit more caution than if were to just outright say they were going to kill you. With Freya in arm, Razi led her up the stairs to where the various rooms were. He snickered when she snatched the bottle away from him. “Oh?” He gave her a sideways glance as he rounded the top of the banister. “Trying to lower my defenses so you can take advantage?” He asked in his normal jovial tone of voice before laughing. “Naughty girl.” “Now… Which room… Was it…” He wondered aloud while looking at all the doors that were laid out before them, not feeling like stopping the rapidly spinning key ring on his finger to find out. “Ah, here it is!” He announced, stopping in front of a door marked by the number nine. The key that had been spinning round his finger was finally put to a rest as he stopped it with his thumb and unlocked the door. The room was already lit, and fairly large; larger than that of the standard and came with a few extra things like a private, albeit tiny bathing room. A single rectangular window was centered on the far wall and worn furniture dotted the one to the left, across from which was a single, queen sized bed. “Mmmmhmmm…” The magician hummed to himself after the giving the place a once over. It looked comfortable enough, which was all he really needed to be satisfied. “Well, this is it.” |

Freya bashfully lowered her head and grinned at his accusation of her naughtiness. "You see right through me, it seems," she laughed, giving him her own sideways glance. When they reached the door, she slipped through first, stepping all the way in and crossing to the bed to test its comfort. It was nothing like her own bed in the bedroom she had long abandoned, but it was much better than the ones she'd slept in for the past months. It must have been some kind of special suite. "Mm. Looks like you and I get to share," she purred, glancing up at him as her hand glided against the covers. The other hand lifted, stretching out a coiled index finger that beckoned him. The look on her face was nothing if not bedroom eyes with a subtle smile that could be described as simply Cheshire, as if she were doing her best to keep the beast inside of her caged. Freya bit her lower lip, giving him another look-over. This stranger had come out of nowhere, stopping what he was doing to prevent her from making a terrible mistake, scaring away the fiends, then given her a place to stay to wait out her drunken stupor. On top of that, his disposition was so charming that she had damn near completely forgotten why she had been upset before. He had completely taken care of her, selflessly. Certainly, her pride had been a bit damaged in the process, having had to be taken care of in the first place, but she needed to let him know how much she appreciated him. It was her turn to take care of him in just about the most effective way she knew how. "...Come here, Razi. I need to tell you something very important." Lucille and her whip were cast aside, discarded on the floor beside where she sat on the edge of the covers. |

“It’s all in the eyes, my dear, all in the eyes.” He joked with her, winking in response to her glance. The magician was fully enjoying the company of Freya and he thought himself lucky to have run into someone who seemed to truly appreciated his strange mannerisms and sense of humor Razi hadn’t moved from the doorframe when Freya eased out from under him and into the room. He crossed his arms against his chest and leaned against the aging wooden side, one leg placed behind the other, balancing on a toe. He watched as she made herself comfortable on the bed, inwardly smirking to himself at the sight of her. “Hope there’s enough room. I’m kind of big, don’t’cha know.” He replied, mimicking the purr of her voice. His eyes reflected the light in the room, flashing whenever they shifted as he gazed at Freya and her flirty mannerisms. He snickered, enjoying the sight she presented to him. The feeling inside of him that responded to her wasn’t something he disliked either. “Very important you say?” He asked, righting himself before actually beginning to move. He watched as she tossed away her whip and sword and he grinned to himself. “Do you always carry a whip with you, or am I just lucky today?” He was joking, but the husky, flirty undertone was still there and was quite fitting with the rest of the current events. With a stride that rivaled royalty he entered the room, knocking the door shut behind him with the side of his foot. After, knocking the billowing end of his sash to the side so he wouldn’t wrinkle it, he flopped on the bed beside her. The magician laid his head back on the mattress, sighing comfortably at the softness of it while closing his eyes. To be honest, he hadn’t had an actual bed in only little more than a week; having been traveling in places where the comforts of an inn were a rarity. When he reopened his eyes, he stared up at Freya, curious, his voice a tad softer than usual. “Yes, Freya?” |

"Yes, your size may be a problem... but we can worry about that when we get there," her grin widened even more, if at all possible. Vision incredibly distorted at this point, she strained through the blur to watch him saunter in casually. Of course she would find his humor enchanting. It wasn't a far stretch from her own, or rather, more similar to the things she thought and never said. His wit was one of his more endearing qualities, she decided. He seemed so careless, not in the ignorant way, but rather the sort where he didn't mind because he knew he could figure anything out if he needed to. Once more, she felt she shared a similar case. "Haha. No, I always carry it with me. It's my main weapon, you know. The sword is just a backup. But... if you like that sort of thing, I'd be glad to show you what I can do with it sometime." When he fell beside her, she bounced a bit from the sudden impact, gripping the covers as not to lose her balance that was already so very impared. When she eventually had his attention in a more serious fashion this time, she reclined so they might not have to strain their necks to speak with one another. She laid on her side, propping her elbow up to rest her head upon it. Soon, her free hand was setting itself on his chest, but remained in motion, gracing his form upwards until her fingertips touched his wrapped jawline. Her thumb ran gently along his throat. "I want to tell you how thankful I am that you would go out of your way so much for me, a perfect stranger. It's a very special thing, and I won't mistreat your charity. So... once again," she leaned forward. It was blatantly apparent what she aimed to do as her eyes became seductively half-lidded, the hand along his jaw rising to the side of his face where she pushed to turn it. Her hair was falling around the both of them, creating a vivid curtain of crimson. "...Thank you." Freya whispered this at an almost inaudible tone when she closed the distance the rest of the way and kissed him through his peculiar wrappings, biting down gently on what she assumed was his lower lip. Her thumb spread across his chin and she closed her eyes, moving into a slow and delicious rhythm. |

As her hand trailed its path up along his features, the magician made a very pleased purring sound in his throat. Due to his natural tone, if one had happened to have their eyes closed at the time, one would swear it belonged to that of a lion. The physical closeness that Freya was showering him with was something that Razi had not experienced in almost as long as he could remember. Her touch elicited a shiver and for once there wasn’t a thing going through his mind that he figured he could say. His speechlessness was something that both worried and intrigued him and he was curious to explore the reasons behind it further. The way she said her next words made him gleam and once more he purred, much more softly this time. Razi finally found his voice when he was about to assure Freya that she had no reason to thank him; that his actions had been as such simply because he enjoyed her company, but the words died on his tongue. She leaned in towards him and his eyes widened a fraction, but he made no attempt to resist her manipulations, almost, though not quite completely enthralled. Razi was only the slightest bit tense when she kissed him, his mind a little hesitant for reasons that he would simply be unable to explain in words. After only a second though, the hesitation was forcibly pushed aside as he too gave in to the moment and lightly closed his eyes, returning Freya’s kiss. It took a moment to adjust and get into the rhythm of things, but when he did, it was the only time, ever, when the thought occurred to him that his performance could be better without his bandages. When it finally ended, and he pulled away just the slightest, his breath was held, holding the sensation of what had just happened inside, if only for a few moments more. Finally he exhaled and looked at Freya, an unidentifiable look in his eyes as he began raising his own gloved hand to affectionately cup her cheek. “It’s been a long time since I’ve last shared a kiss with someone.” He whispered to her, a sincerity and normalcy in his voice that was almost foreign to even him. “Much less one so…” He paused, thinking of the correct word, then gave a very slight chuckle. “Well, you know.” |

Once again, she could not comprehend whether it was the alcohol or the real situation, but when he finally managed to fall into the delicate dance between their lips, she gave him a long, full sigh of absolute pleasure. Her surroundings grew hazy and finally disappeared until there were only two things in her world: him and her. Freya allowed her lips to part a bit more, but the wraps restricted just how deep into it she was able to go, so it remained shallow, but she accepted it. Mysterious figures like him - they generally wouldn't take off such veiling things for a first kiss, but maybe... if she could sober up enough to work her magic, she just might be able to see what was beneath... At first, she resisted the break, following his head considering it had nowhere to go, trapped by the bed on which he laid, but for only a moment. Then she allowed him to have his way. Freya's deep emerald eyes fluttered back open, an apparent dizziness in them as she re-met with his, able to see the same green in their reflection. Feeling the glove against her cheek, she turned her head to nuzzle her face into it, kissing the palm of his hand. "That surprises me," she murmured in response. "If you could charm the pants right off of me as easily as you have, I'd assumed you'd be swimming in women." With another long, luxurious sigh, she fell back and rested, clutching the hand her face had abandoned to gingerly play with his fingers, feeling along each as if she were searching for something she could only feel. "You don't need my permission anymore if you feel you'd like to kiss me again. I think I'd enjoy as much as you could give me." She turned her head to him, running her nose along his throat, "You've astounded me, Razi, a feat that is more difficult than taming an adult dragon. I've been on a non-stop search through the world for anything that could give me that spark of excitement again and it's been quite some time since anything has worked. You work. For that, I... have even more to be thankful for. ...You know what I mean. Don't pretend again that you don't." Her free hand slithered down his gloved forearm, nails delicately picking at the hem beneath his elbow, itching to strip him of the cloth that separated her from the touch of his skin. |

Her nuzzling into his palm left a warm feeling in his chest as he now simply stared at the ceiling, not thinking at all and simply enjoying the time he had with Freya. He laughed in response to her thought, but shook his head to either side, closing his eyes once more. “A lot of men around here would call me crazy, and I don’t believe their words to be far from the truth… However, being surrounded by a plethora of women has never been something I aspired to.” He snickered. “One is enough; any more and I’d be afraid my performance antics would be outdone by the drama of my personal life.” Razi’s hand readily became submissive to Freya’s, allowing her to explore as she so desired. Her words made him open his eyes once more and the feel of her along his neck earned a twitch. There was no doubt that he would greatly enjoy being able to freely kiss her whenever he pleased, but a part of him was already feeling a tad bit guilty. She wasn’t sober, this he was aware of. No matter how smooth her words were, or how she made him feel, the shadow magician wasn’t going to move much farther in her current condition. After all, that would make him no better than the two guards from earlier; in his mind anyway. When she sobered up though, if her mindset hadn’t changed, he’d probably be a lot more forthcoming with his affection. He could very easily cast away the bandages that hid his visage from her if doing so would allow him more access to her mouth. In truth, the pieces of cloth held no personal value to him; they were not ritualistic nor were hiding any shame inducing mutilation. They were simply a prop; something to enhance the shadow magician’s mystique when he was performing. The reason why they were never taken off was because in Razi’s mind, he was always performing. To the shadow magician, the world was his stage and life was his running time, he could take a break when he had vanished from this plane. With that said though, he was not a man of absolutes, so of course exceptions could be made with the proper conditions met. As Freya’s hand slid along his forearm, his eyes glinted mischievously. As she picked and pulled at the fabric, she would find that it offered no resistance. In fact, the entire section of him, glove and all that was beneath it would easily give in to her motions, sliding out until she held it freely in her own hand; the index finger wagging at her as if to say ‘no no no’. |

"Ah, yes..." she nodded subtly. "Girls tend to come with a lot of drama, particularly if you're such a sweet guy as you are and care about them..." Her eyes began to glitter as flesh was revealed, in such a strange color, too. He certainly was an oddity. Freya moved slowly, pulling the garment away as if diffusing a bomb, when really she just relished that feeling of delayed gratification, something she should dabble in more often as opposed to giving into all of her impulses just as they commanded her. At last, the glove was tossed over her shoulder and her attention met with a wagging finger. She couldn't help but laugh at such a gesture. Even now, when most other men would wither at her touch, he was as spry as when she'd met him, making her feel like nothing but a little girl. This guy was a nut. She couldn't predict him, even though she had been trying her best. She supposed it was the chaos in him, and it was more refreshing to her than a cold drink of water after a day in the desert. She put her lips to the tip of the wagging finger, still unable to keep herself from grinning, then moved it around to force its fingers to spread across the connection between her bare neck and shoulders. He was neither warm or cold. In fact, his hand could have just been an object, but regardless, knowing it was his hand set the butterflies in her stomach loose. The feisty red-head noted that he hadn't responded to the last bit of words she'd said, about how she wanted him, and didn't quite know what to make of that. Personally, right now she couldn't think of anything else. She had given him her leash and he hadn't taken it, so the only other option now in order to get what she desires, was to make the moves. Rising up, she swung one leg over his waist, settling down on him in a straddle. Her left hand found his chest once more, the right reaching over to strip him of his other glove. Her head jerked, swinging her long locks all over one shoulder before she lowered her top half down, resting her forehead on his, though it was an awkward stretch - he was so tall. "Show me yours and I'll show you mine," she whispered playfully. |

“You flatter me, Freya.” He cooed when she called him a nice guy; it was true. Kind of. He tried. Sometimes. The magician had a rather nasty streak too, but she needn’t know nor care about that for now. She had him in a place that he hadn’t been to since a time long lost and he wasn’t eager to leave it. Razi felt the glove begin to slide away from him. He smirked to himself when Freya laughed, amused still by his antics. The finger stopped its movements immediately when the feel of Freya’s lips touched them. The magician turned his head to watch as Freya smiled behind his finger before spreading out his digits. The look in her eyes caught him and he breathed deep; his mind was suddenly second guessing all the resolve and righteousness he had only just put forth. “Curious…” He hissed while exhaling, hoping the word got lost in the rush of air. While Razi himself didn’t seem to have any particular temperature to speak of, Freya certainly did. He could feel the warmth and softness of her skin radiate out against the palm of his hand and he quite enjoyed it. The feel of her enticed him, and he wanted more. Razi took a bit of control then and began to use the lone hand to explore the area that was bared to him. Slowly he moved, tickling his fingertips across her shoulder and then back to scroll up the side of her neck and down her nape, drinking in the feel of her. Physical contact like this had been fleeting; not that he had been actively seeking it out before, but now… His eyes flickered just slightly as the various forces that dwelled within him began to come to a final conclusion about what to do. When Freya threw her leg over and straddled him, he blinked, not really surprised, but not having completely expected it either. His remaining gloved hand willingly allowed her to remove the article of clothing and engulfed her own once released. The magician couldn’t help but chuckle at her words. He purred at her, figuring now that he might as well indulge the both of them. After all, what was life if you were going to live it… His eyes rolled down then, focusing on what was below and between the two of them, breaking the connecting stare they were sharing. “From the look of it, you’ve already done your part….” He mused, with a hum. |

The word hadn't escaped her, but she didn't much care what the meaning behind it was, such was her nature, not to specifically question out-right, but instead to simply wonder... She generally liked her version better, in any case. The hand that was grasped, grasped back, weaving her fingers in between his, pinning the limb to the bed. The one on his chest rose, finding itself once again spreading against his jawline, her thumb sliding across his chin. She showered him with another quick kiss through the mask before she, too, re-directed her attention to below, blinking. "Oh no, Hun," she grinned a sly smile, glancing back up at him. "You haven't seen anything yet." Using her elbow for leverage, she took the hand that was in her's and pulled it back around her bare waist, releasing it there to allow him free control of the exploration of her exposed skin. With the same hand, she reached down and plucked the belt off from around her pants, discarding it in the accumulating pile on the floor of the side of the bed. The fingers along his face crept up to his lips, a nail separating one ribbon of cloth from another, peeling it back to allow a window through which she kissed him more. Gotcha, she thought to herself, feeling the pride of the acquisition of her desire. On the other hand, she still had a ways to go. He wore so much ...junk. It would take damn near a century to rid his body of it all, but it wouldn't keep her from trying. She gripped the sash around his waist and gave it a sideways yank to get to the knot, meanwhile attempting to keep him distracted up north with her hungry lips, a mouth that seemed to have been starving for him, pressing so hard, moving with such a ravenous intent it was only two shades away from being a little painful. "Ravi, please," she begged into him, her words muffled. "You don't know how badly I want you right now. Help me make this easier." Apparently, she was having trouble with the knot. Her blood was boiling, her body was flushed and bordering on tremors of anticipation. The ache was so severely intense that anything standing in her way in fifteen seconds would have to be cut off. |
