Valerie stared ahead. It was so open, so..so sickening. How could anyone walk out there like that? And in those clothes? She slowly slid out of the shadows of the forest and felt the moons light hit her. She recoiled but found it didn't hurt. Staring ahead she could make out people. Her nostrils flared and she took in all the smells. Hundreds of people. How they got there she wasn't sure, they certainly didn't walk through the forest much. She slid out into the crowd and found herself carried away to the center of the city. Pushing back away she found herself along one edge of the city. And in front of a temple. A very nice looking temple. Glancing around she realized no one was watching. She slowly slid into the temple and found her way to a room made for Water people. Sitting down on a cushion she closed her eyes. The sounds of the people outside weren't so bad now, and the incense in the room overpowered the smell of humans. She smiled slightly and closed her eyes. It was really late and she was just waiting out until morning. She had recently found some stray travelers who had lost their way. And lets just say she was VERY Full now. Smiling contentedly she leaned forward and let the incense carry her thoughts away. But one thought haunted her, and would always haunt her. Waking up, in the middle of the forest. Still in her dress, still mostly human, and turning into a vampire. The sun had burned her then. Her hand had been laying out beside her and hit a stray ray of light. Leaving a burn that had never gone away. Opening her eyes she looked down at her hand. The burn clearly visible, the path the light had taken. It had been her wake up call to the fact that she wasn't human anymore. Not to mention the sounds, the smells. To a human it would have been dead quiet, but to her, there were rustles, animals, and she was hungry. Her mind was a blur of hunting after that. Grimacing she turned back to the alter. Water, her favourite element. Soothing, helping the pain, not causing it. She had been in fire for to long. Shaking her head, she pulled the leather strap out of her hair, letting her crazy curls to fall down her back. Staring ahead she slowly set an incense on the tray and closed her eyes again. The breeze was light this night, and it was getting dark. Though he wasn't tired, he wanted to secure a place to rest. Ahead of him there was a small town. He raised his head, the hat tilting backwards scanning the town that was only a little ways ahead of him. Nodding to himself, he made his way toward the front entrance. Now he was in the middle of a bunch of people. He seemed to fit in rather nicely, and he tilted his hat forward so no one could see his oddly bright blue eyes. A little kid tapped the sheath to the katana that rested on his back. He turned around, looking at the kid and smiling lightly, just before turning back forward and stepping away. Ahead of him he noticed a pretty temple. Its not like he had anything better to do, and he went forward toward this temple. |

Valerie opened her eyes and glanced around. She stood out to much here. Her skin was deadly pale, her hair to dark, her eyes to dark. Her cheeks had no blood in them. She had no veins in her wrist. She was wearing mens clothing because of the harsh conditions she wore in. She stood up carefully and closed her eyes once more. Water, fire, Earth, Air. She whispered something softly and bowed her head once more before turning around. She couldn't just stay here. People were to observant these days. She wasn't able to fit in as nicely as before. It just wasn't plausible. She left the room and glanced around once more. A few people had come in, but there was one person who got her interest. A man standing outside the temple. He had a katana on his back. She slowly walked forward and stopped her eyes on him. |

She should also notice the katana on his side. His vision was very sharp, and he could make her out somewhat easily at the entrance to the temple. He lowered his head so that the hat would cover his eyes and half of his face, only revealing his mouth. The woman obviously was not human, but that only piqued his interest even more. He started to take brisk steps toward her, being not too far from where she was as it is. His sandals made low noise; he did not tread very loud. |

Valerie stared. He was coming towards her. No! He couldn't get to close. Before he was even close to the stairs she was off down them with an almost inhuman speed. She flew down the steps and went to hide. He couldn't see her! No! She wasn't allowed to get close to people. She didn't allow herself. He seemed intrigued and it scared her. She was a vampire, somebody people were scared of. But SHE was scared. There was no way he could get even close to her. She glanced over her shoulder afraid he was following. She made it to the forest edge and looked around. No one! She sighed happily and slide down against a tree. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail again and looked around. Smiling slightly she closed her eyes. A little nap wouldn't hurt. She had already let down her guard. No one would follow her. He was just a normal person, he had simply been heading into the temple. She had been in the doorway, so he was probably just heading to the temple. Closing her eyes again she kept her ears peeled for sounds. But soon drifted off into a light nap. |

When he saw her dart off, he knew there was something more to her than what he could see. It was now his mission to find out why she ran from him..did he seem intimidating? Was he ugly? Nonetheless, he followed the same path that he saw her run through, and eventually ended up at the forest edge. He slowly moved forward through the grass, wondering if she was nearby. One hand rested on the handle to his katana just in case she would ambush him for no reason. One of the things he rarely did was let his guard down...if even for a brief minute. |

Valerie sat up quickly. Sensitive to the sound of the footsteps. She looked up and saw that man from the temple. Apparently he had followed her. She crouched down and then stood up straight. She stood staring at the man not saying anything. Mysterious even though she wasn't dressed like a woman. She stared at him her wild hair ruffled in a soft breeze the moonlight making her skin look white. She stared at him, her eyes so dark they looked like holes in her head. Looking away from him for a second her eyes wandered to the moon. Her throat exposed to him. She had nothing to worry about. Not even the hand on the katana. Looking at him carefully she let herself smile slightly, not letting her fangs show. "What do you want?" She asked softly, her voice like butter as she looked at him. |

As he walked he heard her sit and stand up. He turned to face the mystery woman, who at first didn't look all too happy to see him, but then noticed her slight smile. Her smile seemed to lighten the situation a little bit. He kept his hat tilted to hide his eyes and part of his nose. His straight mouth turned into a bit of a smirk when she asked her question. "You ran pretty quickly from me..whats your deal? What have you done that would make you want to run?" His words were sharp and clear, he didn't stutter at all. He was fearless, and ready for anything. |

Valerie stared at him silently. "Why did you follow me?" She asked staring at him. This was crazy. Some guy was talking to her. Someone who had followed her. How scary. "Well, you have a sword. You're a scary looking man who stared at me. How was I not going to run?" She asked looking at him her face emotionless. The moonlight flickered and they were cast into shadows. She could still see him clearly though. Looking at him she squinted to make it look like she couldn't see him. "What do you want?"She asked softly. Her voice soft and sounded like she worked hard on it to sound like that. When it was really just her voice. Soft, beautiful, and seductive. |

"Oh come on..." He snickered to himself when she made the notion of him being a scary man. He did not find himself to be the least bit scary. Her voice was nice to him, of course. But the obscenely dark eyes and pale skin were clear indicators that this was no ordinary human. Though it was dark, those features were still plain and noticeable to him. But how much longer would he play along with her little act? "What is a lady like you doing out here in the forest in the middle of the night?" |

Valerie stared at him silently as a small breeze came and ruffled her crazily wild curly hair. She blinked slightly and by the look on his face he knew something was wrong about her. She really needed to learn how to stay dirty, maybe hide the paleness of her face better. Keeping her face straight she shook her head. "Am I not allowed to live in Madrid?"She asked softly. "I do enjoy going to the temple every now and then."She said hoping he believed this. But by his face it would take a lot more then a couple of sweet lies to get him to believe her. They were alone now, and it scared her. Normal people did actually scare her. What if they found her out and no one came to the forest anymore. The moon came out again and washed them both in its light. Glancing up again she shook her head. The night had just turned, and to prove her point a gong somewhere far away sounded twelve times. Midnight. Closing her eyes and sniffing the breeze she was lost in the scent of the humans. Opening her eyes very carefully she looked at him. "Who are you?"She whispered. |

The breeze caused his hat to tip backward, and would finally reveal his soft blue eyes to her. Her voice was sweet, perhaps a bit too sweet to be genuine, to him at least. The gongs sounded, and he looked over to where the sound was coming from, before looking back at the lady. When she asked who he was, he smiled at her.. "I am Ninshi..Ninshi the Swordmaster. And...who are you?" |

Valerie looked at his eyes stunned. So blue. She let her mouth drop open a bit and her fangs sank into site. She stared at him stunned and then smiled, hiding her fangs again. "I am Valerie Strong, of Soto."She said softly. This was really laying it on thick now. He had seen her, she had to make a quick getaway and make sure he never saw her again. "But, I am terribly sorry, it is Midnight, and I must be going."She said slowly staring to back up. The look of fear on her face was plain though. She hadn't mastered hiding her emotions yet and the fear of being caught was plain on her face. Plus, because she was scared she fell back into the old human habit of being clumsy. She tripped on her own feet and fell down hard on the ground. "Ouch."She muttered and then looked up at him really quick. "I'm fine, don't worry about me!"She said jumping to her feet to quickly. This was getting bad, she was tripping all over herself, and making it more obvious that she wasn't human. |

He watched her carefully, and he just could barely make out her fangs before she closed her mouth again. "Valerie strong, you say?" The name sounded like a name that belonged to a movie star or an actress. But at the same time, it was a believable name. The fear in her eyes was visible to him, and it puzzled him. Did he look scary? Was there a monster behind him or something? Of course not, the girl was just putting on an act of some sort..but the next question was why? She started to make her way away from him and fell to the ground, very hard, even...but quickly got back up, like it was nothing. Something wasn't right. "So tell me..what kind of demon are you?" |

Valerie stared at him. Did he say...demon? She had never met one in her life. She shook her head slowly. "I'm not a demon, just a girl, trying to have some peace and quiet."She said softly staring at him. He must have seen her fangs! Oh no! There had to be an escape route! She glanced around her, of course when she had moved backwards she had moved away from all the branches. She couldn't jump up onto one! Looking back at him she kept her mouth firmly closed now. She knew he had seen them! Her ugly fangs that helped her pierce through armor, helped her tear at flesh. Even though she didn't want to! But she had to to live. Blinking carefully she crept to one side. If he guess she was a vampire she would make a dash for it. She couldn't be discovered! If she was the last meal she had may be her last. She didn't want to die! She was to young! Well..she wasn't really THAT young...but she was still so young! She shook her head silently. "I'm not a demon. I'm just a human."She said gritting her teeth as she said this. Saying that was painful for some reason. Calling herself a human..a stupid, desire prone, killing, human.

His eyes watched her carefully as she edged backwards away from him. Yes, he was indeed sure that she was at the very least not human. He could also tell she was still just a little frightened of him. For what, he wouldn't know. She went on to tell him firmly, that she is not a demon, but she is a human. The way she said it..did not fill him with confidence and did not prompt him to believe her. "Look..I am not going to kill you, if that is what you are thinking..as you have not presented me with a reason to..just calm down." His voice was a little lower, he was trying to make her less scared of him. |

Valerie looked slightly startled. Is that what he was thinking she was afraid of? "I'm not.." She stumbled. Then she let herself smile, accidentally showing her fangs but not really caring. "I'm not afraid of you killing me, I'm more afraid of me killing you." She said with a small soft giggle. She must look crazy, she knew that he would take it the wrong way. But what the heck, he seemed to know she wasn't human by the look on his face. Why not have a little fun? She would disappear afterwards, and he would never see her again! So why not play a bit. He wasn't her food or anything. She loved playing with her food, but when they were just there, she usually left them alone. So this desire to play with him made her worry. But she pushed that worry to the back of her mind. She giggled slightly and would she have been able to, she would have blushed. She forgot about finding a route away and walked closer to him. His scent burning in her nose. "I'm not a normal..person."She said softly as she looked up at him. Maybe he would get scared and run? Who knew.

She claimed she wasn't, and she gave him a smile, and showed her fangs to him. He smiled back at her, showing just a little white in his teeth. And he smiled even more when she implied she could kill him. Her light giggle made the whole scene less tense for him, and he even chuckled himself. His hands dropped to his sides, almost completely letting guard down..keyword, almost, for his guard was nearly never completely down. He raised an eyebrow at her when she denounced that she was not a normal person. "Well obviously," he said, folding his arms and smiling even wider. "But now I'm curious..what's so not normal about you?" The wind blew just a little against his robe, making him look cool as the tail of it bellowed behind him. |

Valerie looked at him carefully. "Well, for one I have fangs." She said softly, getting to the point that she was to close for comfort. "I'm not you're normal girl." She said softly looking up at him. She was smiling a bit to wide for comfort. "If I wanted to, I could bring you down right now, and before you know it..." She let her sentence trail off as she slid her finger across her throat. "Of course, I also have the powers of seduction." She said smiling again. She didn't mention that these powers were still a work in progress and she wasn't that good at them yet. "I can do magic, and kill with a single swipe, but I worship the water." She smiled again. "As you can see, I'm very different." |

"Yes..very different.." He raised an eyebrow as she gave him the rundown of all of her powers, and all of the things that made her different from your average girl, and it made him even more interested in her. It was a challenge, to him, and a challenge is something that he liked..it made things fun. "Hah..well, I have no magic or special powers..just your average samurai." Obviously he did not trust her enough to tell her the bulk of his abilities. But the way she looked at him..she must have wanted something..but what is it tht she wanted and was he able to give it to her? "Very..very different.." |

Valerie felt a pang of fear run through her. He kept talking to her. She could kill him right now, and he just..stood there. She backed up slightly. Why was he not running? He should be scared out of his mind. He should not just be standing there, agreeing with her. Now she was feeling scared. He must have some confidence in his abilities, enough confidence that he could take her down. Taking a small step backwards she fell down again. "Why does that keep happening?!" She said angrily and looked at her feet. A root was sticking up right where she had never seen it. Staring at it she looked up at the samurai. She was scared, and it showed on her face.

He watched her step backwards, and fall once again on her bottom. He put his hand on his hat, laughing at her, laughing out loud. This was probably the loudest he had laughed the whole time, she was starting to become entertaining to him. "Oh yes, you are quite..different! Haha!" He reached out with one of his hands, as to help her up of she would grab on to it. |

Valerie snarled at him and stood up on her own. "Why are you laughing at me?!"She said danger in her eyes. "Just because I'm more..clumsy then most doesn't give you reason to laugh."She said staring at him hard. This wasn't right. She was supposed to be Dangerous! Not funny! She wasn't very good at this whole...being a vampire thing. She shook her head and then sighed. It was kind of funny, seducing at one point, to falling flat on her bottom the next. She really needed to work on becoming more stealthy. She sighed again and looked up at him, her wild curly hair fanned out across her back as the moon came out and bathed them in it's light. |

She didn't take his hand. What a total diss to him, he thought to himself as he quickly yanked his hand backwards. She must really not like him at all for her to do something like that, or so he thought. But what did he care, it's not liked he liked her or found her attractive..or did he? He knelt his head a little, and the hat covered his eyes again. His smile disappeared, and it turned straight again. She just reversed the mood back to being..serious again. "Well..I laugh at things that are funny." |

Valerie felt a small grin tugging at her lips. Then she started to laugh. She snorted loudly and bent over laughing so hard she felt tears fall down her cheeks. He had gotten so serious so suddenly. She didn't know what was so funny. But suddenly everything seemed hilarious. Her futile attempt at seduction, her very existence was making her laugh. She finally stopped after much snorting and giggles. She had a cute laugh, besides the snorting, which had made her laugh even harder. She looked up at him tears falling down her face from her laughing. |
