Valerie stared. So much water. So much water plunging straight downwards. Wow. She shook her head and slowly crept forward. She was bent almost double. It was raining so she was clear to come outside. No sunlight anywhere. Thank goodness. She wanted to see these falls for herself. She had been hearing rumor of them being cleansing. She reached down, and still standing up, touched the ground with her hands. Almost like a monkey. She glanced up and slowly crept into the light of the day. Whoa. She hadn't been outside during the day in so long. Even in the half twilight of the rain she felt exposed and open. It felt to light, to nice. She blinked a lot and looked around the rain having no affect against her tough skin. Sure she was pale, sure she was beautiful. She was scared half to death. Standing up straight she looked around and slowly walked towards the falls. Trying to make it look like she belonged there. Striding confidently she kept her ears and eyes open for any sudden movements. This was crazy! What was she doing out here? In the daytime. Anyone could see her! Except for the fact that she was deep within the forest. She shook her head and felt her bushy hair start to straighten out. How odd, she didn't even know her hair could do that. Crazy. She shook her head again and walked forward once more. She felt so...exposed out here in the open. It was just so scary. Finally scared to much she crouched down again and looked around. Her fangs gleaming in the reflections splashed off of the falls. She kept her fangs bared in case she saw anything. Luckily she was full, like, really full. She had just found an elk, and even though it didn't taste that great, she was stuffed. Her eyes lighter then normal, a more grey then a black. But she was content, so the fangs were only a precaution if someone decided to sneak up on her. |

With a half grin plastered upon his face, Drium strolled through the rain, his head tilted back and mouth open to taste the falling water. A medium sized sack of stolen goods swung freely in his left hand, while in his right he held a single large, golden coin. He was quite pleased with his ‘finds’ for the day. They had actually taken some crafty planning and a large amount of time remaining still in an uncomfortable position to get, so the sudden cool downpour was very much appreciated. His hair was matted down the back of his neck, the dark ears atop his head soggy and twitching every few seconds in reaction to the heavy drops of liquid. Having never actually been in this particular area before, the thief had no idea where he was going, but the smell of the forest combined with the enticing gray of the moment convinced him to explore. As he walked, flipping the coin in his possession into the air and catching it with a practiced movement, a roaring sound beneath that of the rain caught his attention. Without even really realizing it, he began moving in the direction of the noise while wondering when or if, the wealthy noble would notice he’d been robbed blind of various small, albeit quite expensive belongings. When the tree line parted and the river rapids met his gaze, he stopped. Turning, he took several moments to watch as the water rushed over the side of the steep cliff and began freefalling into the large basin below. From his position on the cliff, the view was incredible, so much so that he actually let loose a content sigh, a part of him wishing there was some way to immortalize the scene so he could keep it with him. Moving over to the precipice and looking down directly below him, he flicked his gaze over the area and immediately decided to go down there. Taking a moment to secure his sack of goods to his belt and placing the good coin between his teeth, he backed up a few feet. With a deep intake of air into his lungs, he rushed forward, and when reaching the very edge, pushed himself out as far as he could. The jump created a good amount of distance between him and the jagged rocks at the bottom of the falls and as he began to fall, he straightened himself into a dive. With eyes shut and a loud splash he hit the water, disappearing from view beneath the blue. Drium stayed submerged for about a minute before rising to the surface and gently poking his head out into the open air while treading water. |

Valerie froze. Something had just landed in the water. Quite hard, she moved down and hid behind a clump of grass. Peeking up over the grass she saw...a head? She moved up a little more to take a better look. What..was that? She crept forward. It must have fallen from the top of the cliffs. It looked like a head, but..were those..ears on top of its head? She moved forward so quietly she barely made a noise. She sniffed the air and was startled. She couldn't tell..what it was. She could smell, gold, and some other things. Hm, how odd. Creeping almost up to the side of the little lake pooling around the waterfall the roar was so loud she couldn't hear anything else. She peeked up very carefully ready to make a dash for it if the person..thing saw her. Staring she moved her damp hair out of her face. The rain had let up some, a scary thing in case the sun peeked out from behind the clouds. Glancing up at the sky she was happy to see that the clouds were so thick and dark no amount of sunlight could peek through them. And by the expanse of them it'd be this way long into the night. Glancing back down she ducked down quickly. Her pale skin and dark hair didn't make for hiding during the day very well unless she was tucked somewhere among some roots or hidden in a hollow tree deep in the forest. Right now she felt so exposed she couldn't even turn around in fear of something hearing her. Like the thing in the water. Glancing back over to the person she shook her head. This was weird. She had never smelt nor seen anything like this. Taking another deep breath she sure was happy she was full. Though this person still smelt appetizing, she didn't have the need to attack it. Shifting forward she decided that she was never going to know unless she made her presence known. She stood up fully and looked down into the water. "Hello." She said staring at it. "Are you okay? I heard something fall, but didn't expect to see..umm..you." She blinked painfully aware of her fangs and pale skin all of a sudden. She always was aware of this whenever she talked to someone. It was so annoying to stand out so hard simply because of the way you looked. Sure, she had pointy white fangs and pale skin that looked almost translucent. Though there was hardly any blood underneath the skin to see. At the moment she actually almost looked like she had a pulse because of the elk's blood still circulating through her veins. Of course that would all get dried up sooner or later because of the venom. Smiling without showing her teeth, because at the moment they were so sharp she could almost feel them cut her lip, she said, without opening her mouth more than needed of course. "I'm sorry if I bothered you, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Her accent was odd, like she had been living away from people. Way from civilization itself. It was slightly outdated. She didn't know many of the "New" phrases said by humans these days, she didn't normally hang around and talk to people who looked her age. Smiling again, without the teeth, she bowed her head again, her hair clinging to her face. This..person didn't look to good though. Looked like that robber she had heard some travelers talking about. Sure she was a vampire, but she had to let some people go, or no one would enter the forest and she'd starve. It had taken a lot of planning, because she had to make it so some people WANTED to come see if they could find the mysterious girl of the woods, she had made the name for herself by crossing the path in front of bands of people. Or hiding in the shadows, only her silhouette visible to anyone around their campfire. Suddenly realizing that the roar was so loud the person might not be able to hear her at all, she beckoned to him. If he got away safely he could tell the story of the mysterious maiden too, and she'd be full for a month from the visitors coming to see the maiden of the woods. The maiden who dressed like a man, and didn't have a home. She smiled again, accidentally letting the tips of her teeth show slightly. She covered them up quickly, seriously hoping he hadn't seen. Had he..well, she had just lost some advertising. It happened, even Vampires make mistakes. In fact, she made far to many to count, she was a new Vampire and mistakes were common, she wished she could find a nice elder Vampire to teach her the ropes. But NO, she had to be left out in the middle of nowhere bleeding, and dying. Just to wake up and find herself immortal! Great. She smiled again but hiding her teeth well this time. To much thought, not enough action. Beckoning again to the..man...she turned and walked away, hoping he would follow. She could barely hear her own words, let alone his, and she prided herself on her hearing. She would have to come here more often, if there were people here, and she could strengthen her hearing more then ever. Smiling with her back turned to him she looked across the plain, to a spot where she guessed she'd be able to hear again at. Good thing it was raining so hard. Or else she'd have never met this...man. |

As Drium treaded water under the shadow of the waterfall, the spray from the water crashing along the rocks misting over him, he cracked a smile. The scene he had immersed himself in and the successful events from earlier in the day had very much elevated his mood. Just when he was about to close his eyes and simply enjoy what time he planned on spending by the watery wonder, something caught his attention. Drium’s ears twitched and he sank down into the cool liquid up to the bridge of his nose so that only his eyes and top of his head was visible above the water. The sound of another’s voice had caught him off guard and his natural reaction was to hide, but after a split second of thought, he realized he had no real reason to hide from anyone out here in the middle of nowhere. Casually he turned in the water towards the basin’s edge and the sound of the voice. He could clearly hear everything the female was saying, but offered no reply for it would’ve been futile against the overly loud roaring of the falls. Drium wasn’t a particularly loud person, and he certainly wasn’t going to strain himself against nature for pleasantries. Instead, he simply stayed in the water and stared at the female intensely. She was definitely an interesting subject to look at and he wasn’t particularly sure that the figure standing on the shore was human. The very pale skin contrasted against her dark hair presented a very curious sight for the eyes. The more that the thief stared at the female before him, the less convinced he was becoming that she was human, not that her being anything else would have been too much of a shock to him. In all of his time traveling, Drium had come across more than his fair share of not quite human beings. He could actually pass for human himself… If he could get rid of or hide the ears atop his head or hide them beneath a hat. The concern the woman was showing, was amusing to him, but very much displaced, and he smirked at her from under the water. Had she never dived into water before? If not, he’d most certainly recommend it. A thick eyebrow rose curiously as the female motioned for him to come over to her, but her subject didn’t move. Perhaps she had finally figured that there was no use in trying to hold a conversation at such a distance in front of the falls. Either way, he was about to just sink beneath the surface and hold his breath, hoping that the female would simply figure that he had no interest in being social and go away. But that was before she smiled and he caught a glimpse of her fangs. If there was any doubt in his mind that she wasn’t human before, the sight of fangs surely sealed the deal. She seemed very uncomfortable and unsure of herself for some reason and because of this; Drium figured that even if he was just a normal human, he wouldn’t have been frightened off. There was nothing less frightening to him than a creature unsure of itself. As the female moved away, motioning for him to follow her once more, he slowly approached the basin’s edge, stopping when he felt ground beneath his feet. Drium had figured there was no harm in following the pale, fanged woman. If she thought she was to be a threat to him, he’d definitely have a surprise waiting for her. Of course in the event that she simply wanted company and to talk, he was fine with that too. In fact it would be a nice change of pace from his usual run-ins with people. When he had finally fully emerged from the water, his pants were dripping wet and his boots were soaked with water, but he didn’t care much. In time, they’d dry and be back to normal, and with the steadily falling rain, it wasn’t as if he was going to remain dry anyway. With sloshing footsteps, he dashed over to where the female was, slowing to a brisk walk when he was only a few feet behind her, his gaze still intently upon her. “Where are we going?” He asked in an even tone of voice, not really desiring to venture too far from his current location.. |

Valerie looked around carefully and then smiled slightly. "Right here."She said and turned around to look at him. She smiled slightly, not letting her fangs be known. Not that it helped. The daylight clearly showed she was not of the human race. But clearly a vampire, by the way her skin shone in the light. By the way her hair moved gracefully, without a wind. Even her voice was like velvet, her tool to help lure unsuspecting people to her. She looked at him carefully. "What are you?"She asked softly as she looked at him. He surely wasn't human. She couldn't smell any human near him. She sniffed slightly as the wind turned and blew his scent in her direction. She had never smelt anything to exquisite. What she would do to get a bite of that. Looking at him carefully she smiled, letting her fangs show now. He wasn't human, he would understand. Smiling at him her fangs showed the dangerous beauty of her. How beauty was dangerous, and showed how even the most beautiful flower could be poisonous. She looked down and felt her hair band fall out. Her hair fell down around her shoulders. That was no accident. Things to help lure her prey to her always happened around her. She shook her head and bent to pick it up. It had snapped. Oh snap. She looked away for a second and hoped he didn't think she was purposely trying to seduce him. It was quite embarrassing. Looking at him she kept his eye contact. "I can smell, you aren't human..what are you?"She asked staring at his ears again. It was like seeing something you shouldn't, she couldn't help but stare. Her her mouth was open slightly, her fangs glistening with venom in the light. She wanted so much to get a taste of that. But kept it back. She had just eaten! She wasn't even hungry! This was simple desire, and she didn't like it one bit. Shaking her head she turned away from him and hugged herself. The desire to just attack him was overwhelming. Even though she knew he was probably strong enough to deflect her, she wanted a bite. Really, really bad. She stopped breathing for a second, hoping it helped. It didn't, his scent was all over now, being pushed to her by the wind. She hugged herself tighter. Her inhuman strength would have cut her body in half by now, but she was fine. She finally turned and looked at him a wild look in her eyes. "Please...tell me what you are."She said looking desperate. She needed to know what he was so she knew if it was good to attack or not. If he was stronger, she knew not to. If he was weaker..she didn't want to think of that. She hugged herself tighter. It was starting to hurt, but there was nothing to do for it. She had never felt desire this badly. Never WANTED to kill something, wanted to drink its blood. She had managed before to only eat when she needed to. Now, she WANTED to, and it scared her. She was shaking badly now. Thunder rumbled in the distance and she let out a small growl, using the thunder to mask it up. It didn't help, her growl was louder then the thunder. She could have punched herself. She must look like a rabid animal, prepared to pounce at any sudden movement. Shaking more visibly she stepped back and to the side trying to get out of his wind. She didn't want to hurt him. That was so mean! She stared at him her eyes wide. What was this? She was losing control, she could feel her hands clenching so hard that, had she had blood, they would have been black and blue with bruises. She stared at him, fearfully, like a predator, it was scary. She didn't like it one bit, but this is what was happening. Something most Vampires had to deal with right off. Now that she had to deal with it, she was scared. So scared she ran off a distance trying to get away. |

With the female’s answer, Drium stopped approaching and took a more relaxed standing posture. His eyes began to wander to the general environment around the woman and then the canopy of the trees. The scene wasn’t much of a clearing at all, but it was an alight place he supposed. When she posed her first question to him, he looked at her curiously, his right hand idly going to massage the side of one of his furry ears. He held off on answering just yet, simply because he could, the edge of his mouth curling upwards into the slightest of closed smirks. “I could ask you the same question.” He replied slyly, shooting her a mischievous glance. When she smiled and he got a second, clearer view of her fangs, it dawned on him that she was a vampire. He mentally scolded himself for not figuring this out sooner. It was so obvious now that he put the rest of her physical traits together. With that, he mimicked her smile, letting her get a good look at the razor sharp tools in his possession. She wasn’t the only one with teeth that could cause some damage. Admittedly, his was sometimes a bit of hassle when trying to interact peacefully with skittish people because he was unable to hide them at all when his mouth was open. Not to mention the fact that he had three pairs when a single pair was usually enough to send people on edge or running away in fright already. He followed the falling hair band with his eyes, but took no real interest in it. It didn’t look like it was anything worth hoarding or trading for money, so it quickly left his thoughts. The woman’s hair was a completely different matter however, and was indeed very attractive to him. It seemed rather silky and soft to the touch and Drium found himself looking at it for some time before her stare drew his gaze. At her second question, he shook his head slightly. He could feel her staring at his ears, and he made no movement to get her to stop. He had long since gotten used to being stared at for the ears, though in recent times he hadn’t happened nearly as often. Experience had taught him that once people got their fill of staring at the ears, they wouldn’t really pay them too much attention in the future. Again an eyebrow rose in interest as he watched her next couple of actions. Something seemed very wrong with her and he was tempted to ask if she was alright, but held back, hoping that she was simply having a spell and would quickly recover. That really didn’t appear to be happening when she turned around, pleading with him for an answer in regards to what he was. Truthfully, he would have just answered her, but the transformation she had undergone had completely surprised him. The shaking, the look in her eyes and face, the whole feral aura that was suddenly pulsed from her; it had him speechless and just when he was ready to finally answer her, she took off away from him into the woods. For several long moments, he stood there in stunned silence, unsure of what he wanted to do. A part of him said to simply back away slowly back to the waterfall, but the other, more adventurous part of him wanted to delve a bit deeper into this most curious situation. It was that part that won him over, and with a quick lick of his lips, he took off after her, not taking long at all to catch up. “I…. Don’t really understand.” He started slowly, his tone soft and calming. He didn’t particularly want to agitate her any further. “Are you ok, what’s the matter?” He asked, taking only a few more steps forward, before stopping. |

Valerie was visibly shaking as she ran, but then he was there. Next to her. She fell down with an "Omph." And looked like she was scared. "Whatever you are!" She snarled her fangs bared. "It's making me want to bite you! I've never wanted to bite anyone like this before! And I don't want to start now!"She said looking up at him before looking away again quickly. Her eyes darted around her. Trees, trees, and more trees. She could climb one, but she knew he would follow. He had caught up to her on the ground, he could probably catch her in the trees too. So she took a deep breath and stopped breathing for a bit. It helped some, but the wind was still there, getting stronger as the worst of the storm passed overhead. Branches swished and snapped, some falling quite close to them, but never hitting. Valerie was sitting on the ground, her hands covering her face. This was so bad. She didn't want to hurt him! Not at all! He seemed so nice, so willing to help. But it was that blood of his. The very smell of him made her want to just get up and sink her fangs in. At that time they felt like they were growing a bit too. A little longer, like they did when she had a particularly large kill. Her fangs got so long she couldn't hide them with a closed mouth anymore. She whimpered and hid them with her hands instead. The elk's blood was like Tofu to a normal human. Sure it was food, but you never felt quite full. His blood..she could already imagine the satisfaction. The quenched thirst, but she knew, if she started killing for desire now, it would never stop. She covered her face with her hands and stood up quickly. "Are you strong?" She asked, her velvet voice muffled because of her hands. "Are you strong enough to hold me back?"She asked fear filling her voice. "If you are you better prepare yourself or run."She said starting to shake even harder. "If you don't leave..I'm afraid I may just attack."She whispered and felt something like a punch in her gut. She doubled over and fell to her knees. She had NEVER had a thirst like this before. One that was physically hurting her so that she would bite him. It wasn't right, she should have control, not this desire. She could just imagine, had he not known she was a vampire. Her fangs hidden, her seduction in place. She probably could have gotten him to the point where all she had to do was bite a bit harder and she'd have him. She would have been able to bite him, and not worry about it. But if he had the power to defend himself, like he could now. She felt horrible. She didn't want to bite him! Had she been hungry, then yes she would have. But now? NO! She convulsed again and then looked up at him, the wildness in her eyes. She had warned him, she really hoped he was ready, because her body locked up tight, and she prepared herself for a lunge. Her fangs open to the world, sticking out below her bottom lip, the wild blood thirsty look in her eyes. "I don't want to hurt you! Run!"She pleaded one last time before she lunged. |

Drium reached out a hand to help the woman back to her feet, but quickly pulled it back when she snarled at him. He stared at her with a bemused look on his face, having no idea how to take the comment that followed. He was greatly intrigued by this revelation and what it could mean, if anything, but was also hesitant to explore it any further. He watched her as her wild looking eyes darted around looking for what he could only assume was a way out from the situation she was currently in. He figured he could just as easily leave her to her own devices, but the allure of dealing with an on edge vampire was much too tempting. The cold blowing wind against his skin combined with not being completely dry from his earlier dip in the water made him shiver and he rubbed the side of his arm uncomfortably. He tilted his head back and looked at the swirling debris coming off from the surrounding foliage due to the wind and hoped that it would let up sooner rather than later. When she whimpered, he looked down at her again, his brow furrowing in thought. As she got to her feet, he sucked in his bottom lip, watching her cautiously as she questioned him and gave him a sort of ultimatum. Drium wasn’t one to second guess his own strength; he was fully confident in his ability to defend himself when need be. With that said though, he had no idea how to gauge himself against the might of a vampire, let alone one that was frenzied with hunger. When the female vampire finally lunged at him, he tensed and reacted without even thinking. Grabbing her wrist, he pulls her forward, twisting and holding her arm against the small of her back as he spins behind her. His free arm moves so that he is using his gauntlet to press against her throat, pulling her back up against his bare chest. After the initial movement and sucking his teeth, Drium relaxed his grip to keep from choking or causing her any major discomfort. “Calm down.” He commanded into her ear, his voice an almost whisper. “Control yourself. You can’t really live your life a slave to your impulses…” The thief’s voice trailed off after that, his mind wandering to analyze the terribly great statement of irony that just flew out of his mouth. |

Valerie snarled when he grabbed her wrist. The shock of him touching her lasted just enough for him to get complete control over her. She yelped and struggled hard. This wasn't right! He was HER food! Her food! Not his! Thinking he was going to eat her instead she struggled harder, until, a whisper in her ear she felt her strength leave her. She didn't want to eat him. Not at all! She fell limp in his grasp, her arm behind her back, but not hurting that much, up against his extremely warm chest. Had she blood her face would have been red with embarrassment. But as she didn't she only went limp. This was just wrong. He had gotten the better of her in seconds. She really wasn't that strong. But she realized that maybe she hadn't been trying. She could easily turn around and break his arm right now. Snap it in half and lunge. But his touch had calmed her down. Enough so that she was only panting, her head to the side, inhaling his scent deeply. "I know."She whispered and whimpered from the pain of desire that hit her again. The smell was so close now. But she didn't struggle. Her arm was staring to hurt, and she was getting a little dizzy from his scent, but she knew it was the only way she wasn't going to try and bite him. She blinked a few times trying not to let tears fall down her face. She had almost bit him. Thank goodness he had stopped her! She would have felt SOO bad after wards. She whimpered softly to let him know she was uncomfortable now. He was so hot. So much blood circulated through him. So much hot, wet..blood. She gulped and whimpered again. She had to be distracted. He had stopped talking and her mind was free to wander. "Please...keep talking, If you let you're guard down, I will break you're arm and bite you, keep talking and I think I'll be ok."She whispered her head turned to the side to smell in again. It seemed to help her when she was close, but aggravate her when she was near. A few stray tears slid down her face. What was she going to do? He had her locked in his grasp, the only way to calm her down was to keep his scent in her nose. If he moved to far away, she would most likely break his arm and bite him. But could she? If she got close enough to bite, wouldn't she stop because his scent would calm her down? No, she didn't think so because it would be to quick, her fangs would be in him by then, to late to calm down. Then she would become a vampire on the frenzy. Drium grimaced when the woman snarled though that was to be expected. No one enjoyed being gripped up and held at the mercy of another. He held her securely as she yelped and struggled against him, unwilling to let the vampire do as she wanted. When he felt the woman cease her struggling, Drium smiled to himself, pleased with his ability to avoid and diffuse a conflict; even if it was only for a short span of time. This also made him wonder about the general strength of vampires. She didn’t appear to be all that powerful when she lunged at him; only a bit stronger than a normal human male. Were they all of similar strength as this one? And were all of them prone to these fits of desire? His mind then wandered to what exactly it was about him that caused such a frenzied reaction. He hummed to himself in thought, feeling as the woman panted to catch her breath before responding to him in a familiar whispery tone. He nodded and took a deep breath, weighing his current options. Now that he had her in such a prone position, Drium actually wasn’t quite sure what else to do with her. He had subdued her for now, but should he completely release her? He had no intention of holding her captive like this forever after all and if she was just going to attack him if he did, he’d have a problem. When she whimpered again, he too began to grow uncomfortable. He didn’t like to hold people against their will unless it was absolutely necessary, or he planned to kill them shortly thereafter… But that wasn’t in his mindset in this instance. The vampire spoke again and he listened, hoping that she was going to say she was ok now and he could let her go, but that wasn’t the case. She wanted him to keep talking, but about what? “Uhh…” Was all he could come up with at the given moment and he scowled at his inability to converse normally, wracking his brain for something to say. “I don’t think you could really break my arm.” He blurted out suddenly, unaware of his words until he echoed them in his head and mentally kicked himself. “I mean…” He began again, more slowly this time. “Who are you anyway?” |

Valerie snarled when he said something about not thinking she could break his arm. Sure she had seemed weak, but really, did he think she was that weak? She leaned back slightly, enough to make her own arm hurt, but it wouldn't break. She leaned some more so that her head was practically on his shoulder. Her lips inches from his neck. "My name is Valerie."She whispered her lips almost pressed against his jugular vein, her lips shaped themselves into a smile. She was almost humming with pleasure. She had never felt this way before. He had gotten her into the perfect position. Her back arched against him, her head on his shoulder, almost kissing his jugular vein. The blood pounded beneath it, and it was so close. She let the tip of her fang touch his neck softly. This was to easy. One small push and she got it. But his scent was keeping her strangely calm. She wasn't frenzied, but the desire was still there. The desire to bite his neck was so strong she put a small bit of pressure on his neck with her fang. She couldn't believe it, he hadn't moved. Perhaps he was to scared? Yes, that must be it. She felt strength surge through her body. She twisted hard, and was out of his grasp, but in another second, was pushing him towards a tree. Her lips up to his throat. Her fangs bared. "Now, do you really think I can't break you're arm?"She whispered her voice deadly. Something had taken over her. Something unlike anything she had been before. The desire to bite rushed through her. They were up against a tree now, her hands on his shoulders, her fangs to his neck. It would be only to easy to push her fangs in and taste the hot sweet blood beneath. But she didn't. She got him in this position, but she wanted to suspend it. She had never been this close to another male before. Unless she was drinking his blood. So being close like this, to someone who attracted her so much, was her own personal torture. To see how long she could stand the smell. While, unknowingly, giving him equal opportunity to get advantage over her again. |

Judging by her responding snarl, she didn’t think very much of his assumption about her strength. He smirked at that, amused as she began to lean back against him. He wondered what exactly she was up to with her head against his shoulder, but did nothing to stop her. “Valerie…” He repeated the name quietly, his voice quickly degrading into a single haggard breath as he felt her rather cool lips up against his throat. He wanted to push her away then, but for some reason he couldn’t. The sensation was vaguely familiar, like something out of a dream he couldn’t remember, but desperately wanted to. He closed his eyes and gently searched his memory which didn’t take long. He gave a long sigh as the corner of his mouth rose into a calm smile. His brow furrowed in response to the pressure the fang applied to his throat. That wasn’t familiar and he opened his eyes while returning to the present. Valerie twisted away from him and he obliged, letting go of her and expecting her to put some distance between them, but she whirled around and did the exact opposite. Her sudden pushing against the thief surprised him and there was nothing he could do besides stumble backward until his skin connected with hard wood. He flinched at the sudden impact of his back against thick tree bark, it didn’t really hurt, but it certainly wasn’t the most pleasant sensation. Drium could feel the brush of her lips against his skin and his gaze fell to the forest floor, his breathing a little faster than normal before his eyes closed. The tables had turned it seemed, but that wasn’t really a main concern of his. That feeling was still lingering inside him and he kind of wanted to explore it further. There was a closeness in the memory that he hadn’t experienced since its creation, so the touch of the woman against wasn’t unwanted. Drium heard her voice and responded with a faint, somewhat dreamy “No”. With a sudden jolt after that, he came back to his senses, his eyes still a little glazed, but now narrowed. Moving his hands, he grabbed her just beneath her own shoulders and began to push her away from him. |

Valerie saw him close his eyes and put a tiny bit more pressure, before suddenly he was shoving her back. She gasped slightly and felt herself get pushed back to an arms length apart. He sure was strong. She stared at him silently and wanted to push herself back but couldn't. There was no way she could, he was so strong she couldn't push at all. Snarling slightly she stared at him, but couldn't move. She didn't want to move away, so she stood there. His hands on her shoulders, pushed back as far as she could go. For some reason, she didn't want to bite now. She didn't want to bite, but she wanted to get at him. She stared at him, her eyes searching his face. He had said her name, and not with fear. But with another emotion. She stared at him wanting to know what he was thinking but having no way of knowing. "Why didn't you stop me?"She whispered her breathing hard. She was leaning into his hands hard. But he wouldn't budge. She whimpered with the desire to be nearer him. But the only touch she got now was his hands. Staring at him still she kept her eyes on his eyes. "Why?"She demanded. She was breathing so hard she couldn't move. Just stare at his face. She kept her body tense, still pushed against his hands. She looked down at his hands on her shoulder's suddenly and her body relaxed. "What are we doing?"She whispered and slowly, very very slowly, moved back away from him. She shook her head, the wildness dying down in her eyes. She stumbled backwards and fell hard, and didn't get up. She was shaking really hard now. She whimpered and pulled her knees to her chest, trying to get his smell out of her nose. But now his smell was on her. She gasped slightly and flung herself to her feet. She stared at him before darting away into the trees. She didn't care if he followed. If he did she would attack again. She needed to try and get as far away as possible. The desire scared her. She wanted him to be safe. She wanted him to be happy, for whatever reason, and to be happy, he could never get to know Valerie Strong. |

Drium raised an eyebrow as she strained against his arms to get close to him, but he didn’t let up. He watched her face closely as she stared and snarled, her breathing hard. He was sure that if she had the capacity to be, she’d be flushed right about now. He didn’t answer her question and was quite unsure as to what to do, but knew full well that he didn’t want to go back to what was just happening. In fact, Drium didn’t understand why she was so intent on being close to him. Well, yes he did. By now he just figured that she was just trying to get close in order to get something to eat. That was probably her intent the entire time, but then… She had plenty of chances to go through with that agenda so why didn’t she? His brow furrowed and he let the thought go; it was simply too much to think about. Finally he felt her relax and begin to very slowly move away from him. He let his arms drop to his sides as he watched her, a held breath only just now escaping his lungs. She fell, and the previously serious expression he had broke, the corners of his mouth twitching as he struggled not to burst into laughter. He restrained himself though, with some effort and a brief shifting away of the eyes and remained composed. He heard her whimper and looked back, wanting to help her up, but she gasped and very quickly got up and ran off. The thief made no attempt to stop Valerie as she darted off into the forest. He just watched her in a sort of stunned silence, a mostly confused look in his eyes. When she was completely out of sight, he slid down the length of the tree, leaning his head back against it while closing his eyes. Easing his hand into his pocket, he pulled out his gold coin from earlier and flipped it into the air with his thumb. As the coin spun in the air, he opened a single eye to look at it while his mind began to traverse the events of this very full day. |
