Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

D= Last year I didn't really plan anything because the forum was still getting off the ground after a long absence, but this year we have plenty of activity and a lot of great people (not that we didn't before! XD). Soooo, I'm wondering: what should we do? I don't really want to create a mass thread, or if we do, I don't want that to be the only thing. And I don't really want it to be a festival, though some sort of ball might be kind of nifty. Scavenger hunt? Some sort of contest? Awards? If you have an idea, throw it out there and we'll see if it's doable. Member-driven things would also be lovely. For those who don't know, Elly turns 5 on June 17. =)

Birthday. =O I kinda like the ball idea (since Kit's introduction was supposed to be a ball... way back when on TW before it keeled). Not much for other ideas on my part, though. XD Though I did tell Val last night that I wanted a thread with dancing horses. Just for no reason at all, really. Would want the thread to be logical, but the desire itself is just out of nowhere. Well... aside from being Carlisle's fault. Silly dancing centaur. I did have a thought a long while ago about IC games... like squirrel fishing. XD I don't have my list of games I figured would be possible IC anymore, but it was a fun idea while I had it. Juuuust... tossing out thoughts.

Oh jeez, that's pretty old. UMMMM. The ball thing sounds cool. will actually post in this one....unlike last time I think it'd also be interesting to have a contest of some sort, but I have no idea what the contest would be about. I am not good with ideas like that. IC games would be amusing too. Anyway, those are my non-ideas. If by some miracle my brain happens to think of something halfway decent, I'll let you know.

Another way I've seen that I think works well is to create an entire new board for the celebration, then anyone can create a thread and it is easier to have several different conversations or groups of people hanging out at the same party. You can read other threads and use that info to describe what your character sees and such. As for other things to do, some sort of contest or tournament would be fun, but they can sometimes be difficult to judge, and sometimes work well to have more than one person be the judge. What about a bonfire building contest? I bet Yori and I would tie for first!

Just play the good ol' coin flip and dice roll for most of it, I guess. Problem though is length, and I uphold that tournaments should be banned from pretty much everything. >.> Unless it's like... a chess tournament. has a bias against tournaments

I like your idea Sphynx for the ball, Sphynx, and I'm sure that it really couldn't hurt, since the massive threads typically aren't all that successful, anyway. I think we'll with with that, as an IC sort of thing. As for OOC, I'm thinking we should create a few games, have some IC-OOC stuff (as in, OOC character posting, just for kicks), and I'm considering a scavenger hunt sort of thing, or some other contest, that will end with someone gaining an extra ability slot. I think that'd make a good prize, for those who need them. I'd rather not put on a tournament, since they always seem to end in disaster... Could always do something like character trivia... or something. Yeah, I'll need help setting this up XP.

Or... it was either because of that or because at the time I had a habit of reading every thread just so its forum wouldn't be lit... Elly isn't as obvious about it though, so that hasn't been as much of an OCD problem for me. XD

It's actually my other site's birthday as well, and they have a couple of things going on, though of most of them wouldn't really be applicable. One of them could potentially be interesting though. Not sure if it would work, but it's an idea if you want to look at it. But anyway, the idea was to do a character switch, meaning, we'd switch characters and roleplay as someone else's character. None of it would count (unless you really wanted it to......). I'm not sure how much appeal that would have to people here, but I felt like I would list it anyway. And what? Steer riding? xD

I heart event planning, that's why I'm a mod!! I like the idea of IC-OOC games and such. Maybe if we did the scavenger hunt, we could even do two person teams, and once you sign up, you are randomly put on someone else's team and have to work together, or in Sphynx's case, forget about your team memeber, do it all yourself, then lose for the lack of team work. Elly trivia could be a lot of fun too! We could post a series of questions, and everyone who wants to has to submit their answers by a certain day/time, and whoever gets the most right, wins a prize. I love prizes!

But it would be done completely randomly, so you'd end up having some random character (after everyone's thrown them into a pool). And it wouldn't be like... anything too serious, I don't think. I really like that idea. =) I meant OOC scavenger hunt, lolz. TW actually did it once, but I don't remember if anyone actually found the answer. Though we could do an IC one O.o; Except I wouldn't be planning it >>; Or running it. My activity and attention span don't really work for that. Glad you both volunteered >). Yes, I want both your help, as I think it'd be lovely.

Extra ability slot + a picture by you for first place, just one ability slot for 2nd or something. I'm not sure where else you could do it, unless you wanted to do it for the ball. As in, best thread (as judged by someone). Or... something.
