Jazuki had found purchase in a tree, having left his boots and sword on the ground so as to have easier access to the tree’s branches. He wasn’t worried about anyone stealing them, the boots were easily replaceable; although the sword was one of a kind, he wasn’t afraid of anyone taking it. He’d had it stolen once before and because of its uniqueness had had no problem tracking it down. Not too far from him was a small village of tribal people, a village that now burned, and the only sounds of life were those of the few unlucky enough to still be alive when the fire had started. The fire had not been his doing, but many of the deaths had been. He quite enjoyed the chorus of deathly shrieks, and cries for help; not a single person in that small village would be leaving it alive. He settled into his spot on the tree, letting the rain, which had been the cause of the fire; soak his hair, wings and clothing. The sound of the rolling thunder, though he was used to it and far from being afraid of it would occasionally send a shiver up his spine. He watched the lightening as it danced across the sky and waited for when it might strike near him again. He wondered how much longer the fire might last, as the rain seemed to be increasing in its rage with every passing moment. Not that it mattered to him, he liked this kind of combination, the wet of the rain and the heat of the fire; which he could still feel despite his distance from it. |

The tall dark figure lingered in the flames with his rather large weapon drawn. The blade reflected the dancing light that brought so much chaos to the small tribal village. He couldn’t help but smile, grinning with his sharpened fangs that have torn much flesh from both animal and human alike. Though Venge did not start this particular fire, he wished he had, based off of how many were suffering and fading into nothingness as the roasted and charred alive. Small chuckling left his lips and eventually grew into frenzied laughter. His whole body shook with each giant stride he took. Venge’s bright green eyes bounced from burning body to burning body in high spirits. Whenever he’d spot an individual not licked by the flames, he took it upon himself to sever their heads and toss the remains back into the inferno. Cries of help tickled his ears as prodded around the small area. This merely fed the black beasts crave. Wondering towards the cries he spotted a young girl, not fully come of age. She was stuck in a small shack with no way out except for a rather small window. His grin grew to a full-blown beaming smile. “Oh, what do we ‘ave ‘ere? I’ll save ya little one!” Venge threw one of his giant clawed hands through the window and snagged the girl’s head. “I gotcha!” he gave a hard yank and pulled her through the small window. The young girl barely fit, but not without lack of injuries. Her cries simply got worse when she saw what had a hold of her. Her cries turned to blood-curdling screams. Venge only cheered in ecstasy. With his massive paw, he spun her head, snapping her neck. The girl fell silent and limped, losing all senses and her world faded to black. “Getting a bit toasty here, time to move on,” he muttered to himself, dragging the girl in one hand and spinning the scythe in his other. Venge was forced to walk through a wall of fire to get out of the village. The encryptions upon his limbs lit into a fierce bright red, protecting him from the immense heat for the most part. It left him a little singed, but nothing he couldn’t overcome. The rain greeted his arrival to the forest that surrounded him, the corpse still dragging behind held tightly in his grasp. |

Jazuki’s ears twitched at the sound of frenzied laughter. Either one of the tribes people had escaped the flames and had gone mad shortly after, or someone else had stumbled across the macabre scene of the burning village and had found it just as stimulating as the Crimson Angel had. Well from the sounds of it if the latter was true this new individual was finding a lot more enjoyment in it than Jazuki had. He jumped down from his perch in the tree and sitting against it put his boots back on. All the while just listening to the sound of the fire, the sizzling of the rain, and that odd laughter. His ears perked at the sound of a child’s blood curdling screams. It was one of those sounds that could haunt any sane man’s mind, but Jazuki wasn’t quite all there anymore so the sound was nothing more than that of a bird’s chirp or a frog’s croak. Something natural and not at all out of the ordinary. He picked his sword up off the ground as he got up and placed it back in its holder on his back. He turned his attention to the flames and noticed as something or someone emerged from the fire. It was hard to tell who or what it was with the backdrop of flames but they were certainly bigger than the tribes people. Perhaps they were the source of the previous laughter. He wondered if he should approach or wait for the other to get closer so he could better make out their features. For now he decided to wait. |

As the rain continued to grace him with their blessings, he moved deeper into the forest. The trees grew thicker and taller with every passing moment. He stopped at a fallen oak, glared at it for a few moments as if it were a stray dog stealing his lunch. With a sudden rush of his left arm, he threw the lump of flesh into the side of the log. “Stay put, dun go wonderin’ off anywhere,” he said with a pointed finger, knowing the corpse would do nothing anyways. Venge wasn’t necessarily retarded or insane…in the way of corpses springing to life without someone pulling the strings, its just that he has nobody to talk to. Venge starts scrounging around the ground for dried branches, gathering them together in a rather large pile. He pushed the heap of dead logs and branches a few feet from the fallen tree. “Ya know something? Before all these damned towns were settled, people were savages. Much like myself, I assume. When they killed an animal, they utilized every part of the creature ranging from food, to shelter, to blankets. Much as what I should do with you, ya know?” He turned his thick skull and nodded at the corpse, his ivory horns bouncing with the nod. Venge turned again to look for a rather large stone to help with this fire he was going to attempt to make. “This is no good, no good! I was never really good with starting fires like this… Should I go back to the town and light a branch or something? That would be the easiest way I guess, yeah.” Venge continued muttering to himself unaware of the winged man that seemed to be near. He got back to his feet and stared in the direction of the town, not yet budging, staring in a dream-like state. |

As the other got away from the glare of the fires Jazuki started to notice just how red the individual’s aura was. It was probably the redest aura he had ever seen, more so than his own or those of his people. He was intrigue by that aura and crept towards where the other was headed. He stood behind a tree near where the other was gathering tender and wood for a fire. He tilted his head to one side listening as the other talked to someone, though he didn’t see or sense another being present. He peeked around the tree to notice the corpse of a young girl, well that answered the question of who he was talking to. Jazuki shook his head slightly amused by the other. He stepped from around the tree as the other seemed to be getting ready to head back to the town to get a burning stick. “Need a light?” asked Jazuki bringing up his right hand which was now engulfed in an unholy green flickering flame. It was a sort of peace offering, a way to break the ice between the two and hopefully a way for him to avoid a fight. Unless the other was skittish about such shows of magic but the Crimson Angel doubted that. |

Venge continued to stare off for a few more moments before turning his head slightly to get a view at who had hastily approached him. The green fire caught his attention as if it was a new toy that had yet to be handed to him. Just as his attention was caught by the fire, he lifted his head and turned the rest of the way to get a full feel of who he was looking at. “You offer a helping hand to someone who just killed a child and possibly is planning to eat that so-called child? Either you’re incredibly stupid, you think you can bring me down, or you’re just strange and bloodthirsty like me…” Venge outright stated. His words were plain and obvious. If it was a fight the man wanted Venge would very much oblige. He liked when he had a disadvantage in a fight, made it more worthwhile and fun. If he was just plain stupid, Venge would probably cook and dry him for meat for later on the trip. Simply for someone to offer a ‘light’ to help cook a corpse seemed strange as nobody has ever done that before. “What is it you want?” he cocked his head to the side like a dog seeing something he didn’t recognize, his horns weighing down a bit. Venge stood in his spot, not moving, but watching for his opponent or friend make his. Venge may not look it, but he is incredibly cautious when it comes to people who chose to approach him rather than flee at the sight of him. |

“The third one,” said Jazuki with a light shrug of his shoulders, “after all I’m the one who started the killings.” He had to qualms about sharing that information with this man; after all he certainly wasn’t a good person judging by the degree of red in his aura. It wasn’t like he was bragging either just letting the other know that he indeed was bloodthirsty. “Nothing much,” said the Crimson Angel kneeling down to stick his hand into the pile of wood, holding it there until the flames caught the fire. He then pulled his hand out the flame extinguished from around his hand. Oddly the green flame now sparked orange in the wood. He wondered if the fire would have a chance to take hold before the rain could drench it. “Company perhaps,” he said lightly, “not many share our special kind of attitude.” Though he knew he wasn’t nearly as bloodthirsty as this other being, after all his own aura was probably only two thirds as red in coloration. He looked back up at the other as he crouched on the ground in front of the fire. It wasn't that he didn't fear the other, because he was quite aware that the other might attack him at any moment, he just wasn't too worried about it. |

Venge’s tense body relaxed slightly. The man apparently wasn’t here to fight, but that wouldn’t mean Venge would drop his guard. He gripped his scythe and walked to the fallen oak. Once more he lifted the woman up by the head and eyed her. He never really did take a good look at the snack he had captured. Not like it was all bad, she would have died in the fire anyways, right? He did something he didn’t normally do, he saved her from suffering. It probably wasn’t a pretty sight for her, but she most likely didn’t feel any pain when he snapped her neck rather than burning alive. Now she was going to burn after she died. He grabbed the scythe and cut away the clothes carefully not to spill blood and make a mess. She wasn’t wearing any shoes, so that helped out a little; Venge wasn’t so good with shoes. Tiny strings to grab on and untie, most of the time it involved chopping off one or both feet. The girl was rather light, he picked a branch that would fit her size, pulled open her mouth and aimed it straight down her throat, then stopped. “Did you want any special part?” Venge was not sure on the man’s taste. It caused him to wonder if he preferred the soft organs, blood, or just flesh. |

Jazuki looked up from the fire, which had captured his attention for awhile, at the question. “No, anything is fine,” he said lightly, though he was partial to blood he tended for his victim to still be alive when he took it. Though he wasn’t a vampire he tended to have some tendencies of one. At least he did not need blood to survive, but it was helpful when he needed to heal his body. When he ate flesh, at least that of a human or other such similar creature, he preferred it to be cooked and have the skin be crispy. He did enjoy crispy skin it reminded him a little or the dried frog jerky he loved so much. |

Venge simply shrugged at the reply and proceeded with what he was doing. With a fierce jerk, he shoved the branch down the girl’s throat like a pike, then propped her against the tree waiting for the fire to get a bit hotter. Strangely the conversation he just had slipped through his head, he just realized he’s never offered food to another individual, or even thought about having a ‘polite conversation’ with ‘company.’ Heck, he’s never even had company, no friends, no relatives left, no masters, nor slaves. The bulky demon was alone in this world, killing and eating as he pleased. Taking what joy he could from the helpless and the weak. “I’ve haven’t had someone to actually talk to and get a decent response, at least that is still alive. Did you come out for just simple conversations out of boredom and curiosity, or was there something else? Creatures like me aren’t use to these kinds of gestures,” his eyes sort of narrowed as the small fire licked the wet air. The fire was growing steadily and was almost ready to be roasted. |

Jazuki watched as Venge shoved the branch down the girl’s throat. He almost cringed slightly, it seemed a little excessive but he wasn’t on to complain. He picked up a stick that was next to his kneeling form and used it to poke at the fire slightly. He had a certain fascination with fire, one that came from the genetic background of his race. It was almost a pyro’s fascination, though he’d never quite picked up on his people’s fire magics taking to being an unholy warrior, or Shadow Knight as it was deemed by many. “A bit of curiosity drove me out yes,” said Jazuki pulling the stick out of the fire the rain instantly quenching it. He bit the end of the stick that had been in the fire stripping what little bark remained from it. “Everyone needs a little companionship,” said Jazuki trying to think if there had been any ulterior motive for him approaching this dangerous man. |

In the process of gallivanting around the new Elenlond, Angkar was a definite must-see, it being the last county he planned on attacking. If there were to be a band of wayward heroes planning to thwart his master plans, this would likely be the place they would flee to in order to regroup and plan. He would have no home field advantage, so as much as he could absorb of the landscaping, the better. It was the King that kept this place safe for now. He was, undoubtedly, a force he, as of now, still did not know how to deal with. If his dream were to be ruined, Razarod Evermore was likely to be his ruiner. Hopefully, by then, his armies will be so amassed that taking the King down will simply be a fatter of brute force. Sitting in his carriage, cursing every bump in the road, the wheels began to stop turning beneath him. He drew himself away from the corridors of his mind and his plans to throw the door open. "What's the meaning of this?" he inquired, venom in his voice. A summon arrived at his door and bowed for forgiveness. They could not speak, so instead the creature pointed in the direction of an orange glow from above the tree canopy. "Alright. Move towards it. Stay hidden." The summon gave a bow and did as it was told, stopping before the tree line. A maniacal cackle drove the mage out from his carriage. This seemed like an opportune time for recruitment. The possessor of that laugh was surely the kind of monster he was seeking for his employ. Carefully, he haunted the forest, moving silently around for a good while until coming upon the hulking demon and its catch. He remained in the comfort of the shadows just a while longer, long enough to see another come into the scene, a winged thing. They sat and conversed amongst themselves, and the more they spoke, the more he was sure these could be the right men for the job. At last, he slipped the mask of a buck on his head to hide his face, and approached the firelight. "Ah, excuse me for interrupting, Gentlemen, but I couldn't help but notice you cooking a child. My name is Andromalius. I have a proposition for the both of you." His black eyes shifted between the two. "Do I have your attention?" |

The beastly demon let out a quiet sigh as another stranger approached out of no where. He didn’t bother reaching for his rather large and ominous scythe that has slaughtered many, nor was he startled at the appearance of the strange man named Andromalius. As to why the man wore a mask of a much feasted upon creature, raised his suspicions. Was he supposed to be less worried about the man since deer are easily scared and timid creatures, or was it supposed to be fierce as a buck in mating season, battling for his bride and land? A few more moments of silence passed as he seized the child on a stick and wedged it between the trunk and ground, making sure it’ll stay put. The corpse laid over the open fire, roasting slowly, the smell of burning flesh and hair wafting into the rainy sky. His nostrils flared wildly at the sweet aroma, or at the very least, sweet in his sense. Plopping back down onto his log and placing his elbows upon his knees and his head upon his oversized left hand, he motioned for the stranger to take a seat. “It’s common courtesy for a man to feed a guest, correct, no matter if he hides his face or bares ill intent? As to why you hide your face, I do not know, but why a buck of all things. You seem rather puny to be a strong buck fighting for territory, yet I can tell that you aren’t one to be trifled with carelessly. Pardon this last question, hidden one, why is it you smell of death? I might not have the nose of a dog, but I am a demon and I have slain many men,” Venge questions might seem a little rude, not that he’d care, being the murderous creature he was. The proposition he offered could wait, Venge wasn’t the type to follow anyone’s orders unless it involved mayhem and murder, victory and death. His luminescent, bright green eyes gazed over the stick-thin man once more. |

Jazuki had shoved the stick back into the fire, the taste of the charred bark still on his tongue and he was looking to add a bit more of that charcoal taste to his tongue. He looked up from the fire as his ears twitched hearing another approach. He pulled the stick from the fire, the end still aflame before he bit down on the end extinguishing it and chomping down on it quite hard snapping the end off and chewing on it as he eyed the newcomer. His ears twitched again as the newcomer spoke. He spat the chewed stick from his mouth tilting his head to one side. A proposition, is that was he had said? It had been a long while since anyone had come to the Crimson Angel with a proposition. He supposed the other could have his attention for awhile. He started to nod his head but it quickly swiveled to eye Venge as the demon spoke up and asked a series of questions. He sniffed the rain soaked air trying to get past it to the newcomer’s scent. “Mmm…yeszz, I smell dat too now dat joo mention et,” said Jazuki his gaze shifting back to the newcomer. A spark of bloodlust forming in his red eyes. |

"Why, thank you," said the cloaked figure as he took a seat when it had been offered. He sat regally, like a king on a throne, carelessly tossing the edge of his ebon cloak over one shoulder to reveal a hard chest of leather armor intricately designed. He was not as stick-like as his new acquaintance opted, but it was more likely a single, one-sided perspective of the massive behemoth beside him, to which, yes, he could be considered stickly. "The Buck? Hah. Well, no one has ever mentioned it, really. Call it a trophy for spilling the blood of a harmless creature without sport. I know someone who would call it a 'Coward's Mask', but I digress... Weak or strong, they all must die. I do not discriminate. And once I peeled the muscle from the bone, I felt it accommodating for my face." The intense black eyes within the sockets of the mask shifted to the winged one, giving him an unseen smile. "It is death you smell, but not the one of corpses or excrement, rather what happens when a soul is separated from a body. Many fellows these days carry it, it seems. It is the smell of Black Magic. I am a mage." "Now then," he shifted, propping one arm up on his armored knee. "Any more questions?" Edited by Andromalius, Jun 6 2009, 11:15 PM.

Venge craned his thick horned skull towards the crimson angel that sat perched, chewing on a burning stick. A raised eyebrow popped at him with his strange speech, he assumed it was from the burning stick on the strangers tongue. His gaze averted back to the propositioning man with the Buck’s head and scoffed. “Guess I’m a bit use to those damned white magi that locked me away for a few centuries… Black Magic seems to be more fitting. Deal with the devils and playing with lost souls are we?” a hideous laugh formed from the previous scoff. Venge shrugged off the speech about the buck's head as it meant really no difference what the man chose to wear. His left hand fell from his heavy chin to his knee. Visions of the failures that call themselves white magi swept through his hell-torn head, anger seemingly built itself up, then released through his lungs with a deep breath. He knew those who had put him in that tiny, ridiculing cell had already died off. All he could hope to do to get revenge was to destroy the remaining of those families, not like he knew how to find them or even their names making it rather pointless to think about. The black devil spoke again, “as for your questions, might as well get to the point. Killing makes me a bit on the tired side…” Venge really had no intention to listen, nor to accept the proposition given without good reason. |

Jazuki eyed Andromalius as he took a seat. The crimson still crouched near the fire, not moving from his spot; he’d yet to be given a reason to move. This newcomer didn’t pose an immediate threat but he could tell by the red aura the other gave off that if he should choose to attack either Venge or Jazuki…well the crimson was not stupid he knew quite well when he was outmatched. He might have been able to take the demon out but against this new being he was unsure, the aura was a little strange, it kind of faded in and out. He wondered what that even meant, if anything; perhaps the other knew how to mask their aura? But last he checked that was impossible. His ears twitched slightly as the other confirmed the scent and he nodded a bit in perhaps what could be considered appreciation. “Mmm…jes, ‘m wit de big fellow,” said Jazuki in something of a hiss, “wat be dis proposal joo ‘ave fo’ us?” |

"Hah!" he bellowed, holding his stomach for his diaphragm's jarring jerk. "What a coincidence. The White Magi had imprisoned me as well! We have even more in common than I initially thought." He was oblivious, for once, of another's actions as the winged one attempted to read him, but he turned his attention to both and cleared his throat before continuing on with his intentions. "My proposition is this: In the near future, I will be conducting a competition of body counts. You see, I am a very ambitious man with large dreams, and although I wish I could, I cannot acquire those dreams all on my lonesome. I need soldiers. I need souls as corrupted as my own to spill the blood of any and all opposition. I need your help." A gloved hand rose to take the mask, gently peeling it from his face to allow himself to at last be seen, a tendril of hair drifting between his eyes. "I saw what the both of you have done here. There is no doubt in my mind that either of you would be plenty for my forces. I have already amassed the pawns, a queen, a rook, and a bishop... I need a couple of Knights now." His eyes drifted to Venge, his brows raising as a wicked smile graced his features. "What do you say? Help me sink the world into a sea of blood?" |

Venge was left a tad wide-eyed at the shared past they held, both sealed away by the light and managing to get freed, though that thought quickly left his rather thick skull as the bloody proposition was appointed to the both of them. A contest of killing, he had never imagined someone would throw such an idea out into the open. The thought of it, he was quite open to. The murdering in mass numbers, releasing the souls of the dead to their makers, drenching this wretched land in blood, it was almost poetic. “A competition, is that to suggest that there will be some sort of prize? And you speak of us as chess pieces, moving to your will. I’m not one to follow other’s direction without a fairly good reason behind it.” His chin fell upon his left hand once more, his gleaming green eyes narrowing in on the speaker and a wild grin growing, showing off his moderately pointy teeth. The cryptograms upon his body glowed dimly as his interest was peaked. His right hand was spinning the branch which the child was roasting on. Her skin was near the brink of crisping and sweat dripped into the fire, sparking ever so slightly. It was nearly feasting time for him. |

Jazuki almost rolled his eyes slightly as the coincidence was revealed. Perhaps he was lucky not to have run into such foul creatures as white magi; actually his whole race was quite fortunate for that. Again his ears perked at the other’s words. How very intriguing, he thought. His gaze turned to the fire the light dancing in his eyes as he gave the words a thorough pick through. It was an intriguing proposition, just one problem; he wasn’t one to be tossed into a game without knowing what the stakes were. And by stakes he was of course thinking about what benefits such an endeavor would yield for him. “Again ‘m wit de bulky one,” said Jazuki his gaze falling upon their new acquaintance, “what be in it for us?” |

"Well..." he began, placing the discarded mask beside him before he wove his fingers into one another. His eyes went to the child on the spit and the flames beneath her, becoming mildly hypnotized. "Besides the ability to massacre without worrying about a global hunt for you, considering you're part of a powerful regime, besides the fact that when we have Soare, you may begin to help re-shape the world in your image... Think about it. You will be in a place of so much power that you could pretty much get anything you want. Land, servitude, riches... whatever." His hands gestured with open palms, "There's really no reason not to do it, save a moral code, but unless I am a horrible judge of character, I doubt that will be a problem with you fellows." His eyes darted up to Venge, the intensity of them boring holes through his head and shredding the night sky behind him. "This will happen. I guess the real question is, do you want to be with the winning team, or do you want to be just another wanderer forever and miss out on this new-age revolution completely? And yes, I will always think of people like chess pieces. But that doesn't really matter, does it?" |
