Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

Questions about Morrim; I remember!.....some of them

lol pacifists.

Mkay, so I have a few questions that I remember. They're not huge questions, just me trying to figure out small details. They're mostly about Kinaldi in Morrim.

-Is Tunetown known of outside Morrim? I remember it being mentioned in the Book of Lore that Morrim was an extremely mysterious place to outsiders, but I wasn't sure how much the average person from Soto or Ashoka would know.

-Does the Kinaldi Academy teach music/art? And as a side question, what are the expenses of going to the Academy and how would one enroll (and all that fun school stuff)?

-How long would a journey from Madrid to Kinaldi take, taking into account all the mountain ranges and various other barriers protecting Morrim from the rest of the world? And how do travellers usually get there (horses, boats, wagons....)?

-Is Morrim dangerous at all? And by this I mean usual street crime as well as killings and such. Would there be a big stir if someone was found the next day? And how would the citizens react to a killer? (I think I'm more interested in the reactions in Kinaldi, but all parts of Morrim are relevant at this point.)

Sorry about all the questions. <<; There might be more.

If she were warm and fuzzy she'd be a kitten

1. Possibly, though only in passing because it's a part of Kinaldi, not a city by itself. People might have hear it from someone who knows a thing or two about Morrim and Kinaldi, but it wouldn't be a major discussion topic. The general public probably wouldn't know a lot about Tunetown, if anything.

2. Yes, I imagine so. Being a city of the arts, it prides itself on all art forms: literary, musical, and visual. As with any school in the middle ages (namely universities, academies, and colleges), only the upper aristocracy would be able to send their children to school, as anybody less than the middle aristocracy would have an exceptionally difficult time coming up with the money. Enrollment would probably be via letter and then payment, either before or after the student arrived at the academy.

3. The journey would probably take anywhere from a month to two months, maybe even three depending on the weather and the rate of travel. The only real obstacle, if one were to go from Soto, would be the Erth'netora Forest, possibly a few lakes after that. There aren't any mountain ranges surrounding the western border of Morrim - they're only along the east. People would travel either by foot or by horse, as the forest is too dense to really take wagons, and since there are no actual, defined, even 'paved' paths leading into Morrim, it's unlikely that a wagon could make it through.

4. Depends on the place. Orl'Kabbar, compared to Kinaldi, is much more violent. In fact, Orl'Kabbar is essentially the crime capital of Morrim. Kinaldi, on the other hand, would probably be relatively safe, with the odd mugging, much theft, and very few actual murders due to the volume of educated, well-mannered, aristocratic people residing there. As for other places... You're free to decide that yourself. =)

I hope that helps. There's no need to apologize - I'm here to answer your questions. =D If you have anymore, by all means ask. It helps you to develop a sense of the world and it helps me to flesh it out more, as well.
