| Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members. Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity. But how long will that peace last? As the king enters the corridor, he is greeted by indeed a strange sight. The Water Goddess has her knife drawn, and is pointing it at what appears to be... nothing. The tip has a bit of blood on it, but Razarod decides not to do anything with that. There isn't enough blood to have done any major damage to whoever it was. They're probably quite frightened, but he'll be able deal with that later. Better not to feed her excitement. The grin only confirms that she's up to no good. He smirks as she tells her story about having gotten lost. "Well, perhaps had you not wandered off for no apparent reason, you wouldn't have gotten lost. And for some reason, I doubt it was me he was running from..." Razarod shakes his head a bit and fights back the urge to laugh at Shadow's mischievous ways. Luckily for him, she isn't quite crazy enough to do any real harm.... he hopes. He grins again as she remarks on the general mood of his subjects, although the grin hides a much less carefree attitude about the subject. "Yeah, they were a bit more... on edge, than I would like..." It's true, he would like them to be a bit less paranoid about Elenlond's deities. They have followed many of the things he's said to them, except for this one... that they have a great number of enemies that are every bit as mortal as they are. The king stays with Shadow, but part of him seems to be elsewhere, as he says nothing else. |

"Well perhaps I should leave, then." Her voice was a little too cheerful for one who had just mentioned leaving. It really didn't matter if she left, did it? After all, the vast majority of his citizens were not only paranoid, but in a state of mild panic. At least, if she left the capital of Angkar and the presence of the king, she would be less detectable and they would be less panicky, although perhaps only slightly. If she were to say, romp off to Zedrin, she might have a better time, no longer under the scrupulous eye of guards, nobility, and peasants alike. And, she mused quietly as she walked along the long corridor, very reminiscent of a feline, it wasn't as though she knew Razarod particularly well - less, even, than she had before. How he felt about her, what sorts of ties they had... They weren't deep-rooted enough yet that she might feel bad for abandoning him. In due time, of course, they might become as such, but for now... She had intentions to return to the mainland. That was where her home was, and where she should have been. Glancing back, Shadow arched an eyebrow. She turned so that she was walking backwards and waved her hands furiously in front of Razarod's face. He may have been taller than her, but at least she could still nab his attention. "Hello? Razarod? Are you even listening to me? You really should be more careful with how you act around me. For all you know I might be some sort of radical reformer out to kill you. Would you like to have a dagger in your gut? I think your organs might disagree." She waved her hands again, a frown creasing her brow. "You really should pay more attention, you know. This is how people get assassinated - they stop remembering that the world continues to exist around them. What if I assassinated you right now? It's not as if anybody could do anything about it. I could blow you to smitherines with a thought." |

Razarod slips in his responce immediately after her suggestion that she vacate the area: "Leaving Ankgar so soon? Way back when you wouldn't have let a few thousand angry people run you off." His face, however, maintains a spacey look, despite the fact that he is speaking and responding. He returns from his half-attentive state as the water goddess begins waving her hands directly in front of his eyes, which takes quite a stretch for her. "Yes, I'm listening to you. I'm not an idiot, I can be aware of impending attacks and think about stuff at the same time. And if you were to obliterate me with a thought... wouldn't be much I could do about that aside from cutting your head off first, would there?" He smirks, looking almost as mischievous as the young woman in front of him. He stops walking as a thought occurs to him. "You know, I never asked you the obvious question... You're quite a bit out of your way here, and apparently haven't come for any sort of official reasons so it seems... so why exactly did you make the journey to Ankgar? I have a hard time picturing you just taking the trip for... sightseeing." Not that it actually affects him if her reasons aren't in any way official or threatening, but the curiosity still exists. |

"Pfft, I never said I was going to leave Angkar entirely - just Ildri. Because really, I don't have a reason to stay here, and I have my own place to worry about. Not that you don't give me a reason to stick around, of course. That's not quite what I meant." She had brushed over not only his question, but his claim that he could successfully take her head off without so much as a struggle. "Why do you care? I'm just causing trouble here anyway, making your people feel as if they actually have something to worry about, making those around you uncomfortable and wary. You can't honestly tell me that's conducive to their health." Shadow was walking straight again, as if she'd never taken a moment to wave her hands furiously in front of his face while stepping backwards. She found his question almost silly, as if he thought that there was no possible way that she had just up and abandoned her Kingdom in favour of wandering elsewhere. "Actually, I didn't come here for any reason at all." Her voice was airy, as if trying to draw attention away from that fact. "Do we all need reasons to be somewhere? I've never needed one to go off galavanting to wherever. I have responsibilities, yes, but when you know that the status of the place where those responsibilities lie isn't likely to change within a few weeks - a few years, even - there's not much harm in leaving. Besides, they've gotten used to it anyway. This isn't something new." What he might have thought of her decision to be a 'bad' leader she didn't care: it was her choice to do this, and if her people had accepted it without so much as a minor complaint, she was content to keep doing it. "Why does it matter? It's not as if it changes much. I'm here anyway, aren't I?" |
