Welcome to Elenlond, an original medieval fantasy forum! We're always looking for new, dedicated members.

Elenlond is composed of two continents: Soare and Esiria. Esiria, a land now isolated due to the efforts of the last remaining Goddess, is inaccessible to all beings and lies in the east. Soare, a continent in the west, is composed of three distinct nations: Ashoka, Soto, and Morrim. Lying between the two major continents are the Scattered Isles. Since the dissolution of the pantheon and the fall of the gods, these countries have existed in relative peace and prosperity.

But how long will that peace last?

Evona, Chaos Goddess

Basics (things you might know if you visited Esiria):

Name – Evona
Age – No one knows.
Gender – Female (some debate this, but almost all literature describes a female)
Alignment – Unknown.
Social Class/Occupation Worshiped, Loved, Feared, Whispered, Shouted, Ignored, Contemplated: Chaos Goddess
Race Different sects argue about this, and many rumors spread like wildfire outside of theological sources. Some depict her as a human woman, others as a six-armed hermaphrodite of unknown species, others as a many-headed monster, and others still as a creature neither humanoid nor beast, and what her "true" form is, and whether she even has a true form, is disputed, with trends differing by region.
Weapons Different Esirian religions, cults, sects, and cultures will describe the God as holding any number of weapons, or of her body becoming a war machine of its own, with claws, scales, and a belly of things fouler than fire. If you met the God, what is to prepare you for what danger she holds, with chaos at her fingertips and any weapon conceivable at her side?

Physical Appearance In depiction, varies (see race). At least once a month, someone comes along claiming to have seen or met the God, but sometimes these meetings were with her as an old man, or a rabbit with a star for its face, or a woman so cloaked and masked that no features were visible, or even with a neighbor possessed by fever and deity. Some dismiss these meetings as imaginings, others take each so seriously as to be driven mad, and most certainly believe the Goddess appears, but when they do not know. Whether the god has a set or "true" form is lost knowledge.

Personality Sometimes the Fickle God, Sometimes the Caring God, sometimes the Shrewd God. Sometimes Merciless, Sometimes Merciful. Sometimes Domineering, Sometimes Uncaring. No one knows what nature the God holds anymore.

Details

Alignment: Some call her good, others evil, and those who know her nature best will name her good and bad, neither one or the other. While it would seem nature to call her Chaotic, some historians and members of her cult dispute this, calling her True Neutral instead. Others go so far as to say that she is Lawful Neutral, but only in whispers: depending on region, such words will be met with a shrug or violent death for blasphemy.

Age: If biological markers were possible, Evona's age would be incomprehensible: this God has wandered where time knows no sway, and manipulated its threads. When she ascended, she was over 40, but even then her body had aged less than it should for a human.

Race: Evona was born human. However, her humanity was cracked before she became a god, tampered by questionable means through lines of magic unknown even to the Goddess. Since ascending, her humanity has become even more unstable, as chaos began to shred her mortality, shift her genetic make-up, and change the shape of her existence. While Evona can still take the form of the person she was when she ascended, the magic of chaos requires that she hold no shape. No one knows what would happen if she wandered into an anti-magic field, or if that would even have an effect: the origin of her power may be outside the arcane arts.

Abilities

Chaos gives the God abilities with little trace of uniformity. The greatest disputes are how far the God's power stretches: whether her command of chaos is infinite or finite, whether the God knows exhaustion, what it even means to have infinite power. No one knows if the God's abilities conform to what is known about the arcane arts or not, or if they derive from a different source and a different set of restrictions and rules. Whether rules can even be applied to chaos is so big a paradox to some that the question is considered circular and hopeless.
