SUMMER

Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

WHAT IS ELENLOND?

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

  • CURRENT EVENTS

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

Unter friedlichen Umständen fällt der kriegerische Mensch über sich selber her.

The windows of the Guildhall were dusted and empty as dead eyes and the oaken front doors were chained shut. Once the pumping heart of Soto’s government, the Guildhall was now decaying like a corpse, with a mighty tree growing up from its collapsing roof like a spear sprouting from a defeated chest. The Madrideans had taken to calling it the Great Tree – an unimaginative but accurate name which at the very least distinguished this monstrosity from the Pale Tree of Nemetona.

Since Méadaigh’s defeat, the Great Tree had lost its leaves – a great deluge which had to be carried out of the city by the cartful. Now it waved its twisted branches at the sky which, today, was clear and dusty-blue from the heat of the sun. The sunlight threw skeletal shadows onto the Capitol Hill and the ring of guild headquarters surrounding it, providing little relief from the summertime heat. These scattered shadows danced on the window of the Auberon’s Destiny’s headquarters which, being the most spacious, were the best place for the Council to meet while the Guildhall was out of commission.

(Of course, they were so spacious because they’d needed a bit of remodelling after Aniketos Hesperés and his crew had destroyed the place a little in pursuit of a corrupt general, so that all worked out well in the end.)

Today they crowded into a still too-small room and sat in assorted uncomfortable chairs to discuss the rebuilding effort. Councillor Omeros had enchanted the air to whirlpool around the room, which at least provided them with some ventilation, and Aniketos was doing what he could to lower the temperature of the air with magic, but it was hardly enough to combat the stuffy heat of the day.

“We’ve confirmed that the tree is still alive,” said Councillor Omeros, “It should come back into bloom like everything else when the time comes.” A brief hesitation, an implied ”If the time comes.”

“If we let it,” growled Councillor Ubsirio of the Rediscoverer’s Association.

“How would you propose getting rid of it?” asked Aniketos lightly. He was sprawled in his chair, demonstrating his incredible talent for lounging in even the most uncomfortable of seats.

There was a general sigh around the room. “Surely the Mystic Occult came come up with something,” said Councillor Iridis of Dido’s Children in arch tones.

Councillor Omeros tilted her head, her face falling slack with an expression of disbelief. “I’ve told you – we’re trying. It’s hard to come up with something that won’t crush half the buildings in the hill, other than levitating the tree out of there, which I think is a little bit outside our capabilities”

“Use the damn beetle things you used in Nemetona,” was Ubsirios’ gruff suggestion.

“And set the whole city on fire? I think not.”

“Surely the Mystic Occult could contrive some way to keep the fire from spreading,” said Ubsirio. Omeros scoffed in exasperation.

There was a moment of frustrated silence. Then Aniketos broke it. “If the tree’s alive and healthy–?” He shot a questioning look at Omeros, who nodded. “So it’s healthy, at least for now. Why destroy it?”

For a moment there was no response from the room. Then Councillor Iridis said, “It’s a symbol. A symbol of what they did to us.”

“It changes the face of our city forever,” said Ubsirio.

“It does look a bit like the tree on our flag though,” said Councillor Gyna thoughtfully.

Aniketos looked around at the room, taking stock of the reactions. Iridis’ mouth was contracted into a tight pucker, Ubsirio frowned through the bush of his beard. Gyna looked dreamy, her eyes resting on the patterns on the window panes and Ramsley sat back with his arms folded, clearly withholding position. Then he met Mirahim Vaal’s eye. Her powdered face was stoical but there was a hard look in her eye. When she saw that Aniketos was looking at her she gave him a tiny nod, the slightest crack of a smile appearing in the corner of her mouth.

Aniketos sent a repressed smile back and went on. “There is enough space for us to build a Guildhall around it if we disassemble the old one – though perhaps we could leave some of those nice marble pillars in the meeting room as a memorial. The whole tree is a memorial. Why would we ever want to forget what they did to us? We must live with it.” He paused before going on, and in that moment sentiment worked its way through his veins. “But also – it would stand there as a testament to a lesson.”

    “What lesson?” asked Ubsirio polemically.

“That we are to respect the land we grow on. Respect it from fear of it, but respect it for its own sake.”

He took stock of the room once again in the moment before arguments began to fall on his ears. There were several frowns, but Gyna was staring dreamily at the patterns on the windowpane, a smile on her face, and the corners of Vaal’s red-painted lips were bunched up in an effort to keep from grinning while her hands were clasped like two animals in her lap.

    “Lilieth?”

The house was empty enough to echo back the end of her name: ”-ieth?”

He hoped she was home now, otherwise he might have to consider leaving without her. He would really have to find a way to keep track of the girl (for he couldn’t help but think of her as such – for all her age she was still a fledgling), given that she tended to be not where he wanted her to be whenever he wanted to see her.

    “Lilieth? Are you home?”

It wasn’t really home. This house had been abandoned during the evacuation of Madrid. He had been told it had been inhabited by a wealthy family named the Aroeids, but no one knew what had happened to them. One way or another, they had never returned, and now these marble columns, these velvet couches, these wide windows to let in light had been left desolate and unenjoyed for more than a year. Then Aniketos, Shrista, Lilieth and Xanthus had been given the house to live in while they stayed in Madrid. When they had come, the floor had been cracked in places by the aggressive intrusion of stinkhorns, there was ivy growing under the door and the large, fancy bath was full of stagnant water which had been colonised by pond scum, lily pads and more than a few frogs. It was still liveable enough, however – it kept the rain and sun off one’s head. The bath was left as it was – Aniketos didn’t believe it was worth the effort to clean, and, besides, he liked to go sit by it in a peaceful moment and listening to the croaking of frogs and humming of insects as the sunlight and birdsong poured in through the broken window.

Soon enough, he heard movement in the house. So Lilieth was here after all – that was good. “Lilieth!” he said when he found her, “I’m glad you’re here. I’m thinking of going back to Reine today, to my home. Would you like to come?”

If one word was needed to describe Lilieth after this war, is was nauseated.

To say she actually weighted in the battle was big of a word, and this war would have known the same end probably with, of without her, but she did have partaken in a massacre, and not a glorious one.

Sure, this battle would probably be remembered, at some point, as some grand and epic rendez-vous between destiny, bravery and sacrifice. But what story may carry the lines in the futur, the smell of blood and gore will have long been washed away from their elegant letters by time and indiferrence.

Nameless grave in as many empty number, as if statistics could bury the dead a second time, telling the future generation what a grand showdown took place between such a great number of men, women, and fae.

Sure, at the corner of some page you might see the name of the general whose statue offer shade from the sun at the center of the square, or for the lest lucky one, a name that should mean something but you can hardly remember.

As for the other, a mere number accounting for the brave soldier that took an arrow before the fight even began, of the aspiring artist that would lose his best hand, forever condemning him to the dust of history whereas he could have shine and inspire a whole new generation.

Lilieth was suffocating in the manor, so she choose to escape unto the street to vent her gloomy mood. For some reason, the most obvious being none could miss it, she threw her attention toward the great tree. It was withering, and as the same time not.

By this point, her body have recuperated enought to make scaling it a tiring endeavour, and a piece of cake overall.

When finally she got to cast her sight on the whole city of Madrid, she couldn't help but to feel heartstroke by awfull memory. Rubble, bones, ruins. Even if by now people were walking the streets once more, trying to find some sort indication of a past life here, there was nothing here that was ressembling the bustling life that should have been if, at some point, the line of destiny hadn't be cut for this place.

Some that's what her clan stronghold must have look to outsider, many years after, and so on till even dust had forgotten what once existed here.

This tree was the same as this city, neither dead nor alive. Neither healing nor dying. A slow withering. What once was would never be again, and what could have been had been destroyed without its root remaining.

This place was now devoid of past, present and future. As far as she was concern, the better thing to do was to let it to its rightfull inhabitant, the ghosts.

The heart of a country isn't in landmarks, cities of piece of lands, but within the heart of its people, within their hope toward the future, and their reverence toward the past. This place hold none of it.

    Lilieth look down, and jumped.

It was to be told this great tree was hella high, Lilieth closed her eyes as she enjoyed the wind rushing throught her hair as she was free-falling, before hitting the water of a deep pond in a crash.

To a normaly constituted human, such a landing, even in water, would have resulted in some sort of injury. As for Lilieth, she was merely feeling a bit lightheaded, and drenched it somehow this point was clear.

She exit the water, letting the warm summer of Soto drying her as she went back.

When she finally got to the manor they invested, she heard her name.

“I’m glad you’re here. I’m thinking of going back to Reine today, to my home. Would you like to come?”

She murmured, in barely a breath :

    " Home eh ... "

She then answered, with a calm and out of character nearly unburden expression :

    " Yeah, I'd love that ... "

Before they left, Lileith casted a gaze at Madrid and asked Aniketos :

    " Does this ... quell your heart ? "

    "Does this...quell your heart?"

Aniketos looked out the window at Madrid, which tumbled down the hill below the manor. The sunlight coming in through the window was hot and a fly buzzed fruitlessly against the glass (which was magically-produced, and the clearest that money could buy).

"Somewhat," he said, his words a sigh. "There is much trouble ahead of us."

He took her hand and led her through the pillared entrance hall to the darkened stairwell, saying after a moment, "It is not what it used to be, and it never will be. War leaves its marks, the most indelible of which are on the people themselves."

He was silent until he reached the top of the stairs. Then, leading her down the sunlit and stuffy hall, he said, "Every city we now inhabit has a history of war, Lilieth. Long before this war, long before Soto became what we know now, there were many kingdoms that war with each other and did plenty of evil to one another. Truly I feel blessed that this is the one great trouble in my life so far – for those people who were not yet Sotoans rarely ever knew peace in their often short lives. Then after that there was the incursion of the Morrimians on the lands of the east, which caused the Sotoans to unite as one. Reine did not join, however, and was placed under siege by the rest."

He pressed open a door and entered into a sitting room with a dust-covered fireplace and several neglected chairs, which had been upholstered in the finest brocade. A fine rug had been pulled aside and left crumpled in the corner, making space for the circle that had been drawn on the stone floor.

"It seems hopeless now, doesn't it?" Now he had to stop a moment to finish his thought, staring abstractly towards the fireplace, the mantle of which was still covered in bric-a-brac: porcelain figures of Sotoan characters, a vase of dried flowers, an enamel and gold egg standing on little legs. "War left its mark on Reine – for every citizen looks upon the mighty Keep and recalls the great siege that occurred years ago. There are even those who were alive during those days and remember that suffering. But Reine became a bustling city once again, a happy city, and the memory, like a ghost, lost its power over the years. It will happen again, with enough time."

He sat in the circle, his legs folded into a broad diamond. "Come, sit," he said to Lilieth, patting the space in the circle next to him. He took her hand once again and looked into her face. "The people will find other things to think of in time, they will breed and the children will be innocent of this terror. On and on it will go." Then, with a hint of darkness entering his voice: "Years will pass, centuries, and once day this city will sink under the weeds and be forgotten; it will return to the non-being whence it came. This is the way of things.

"Now, give me a moment to think."

Clasping her hand, he closed his eyes and brought his mind to thoughts of the study in his house in Reine. How long had it been since he had been there? Weeks, a month or more? Familiar memories bubbled up around him, full of smells and anticipations. He thought of the state of his desk, remembered what paperwork he had last done there, in times when paperwork still mattered. Perhaps a bowl from his last meal there still rested on the table, with a morning sunbeam casting it in shadow...

All at once they both folded into a compressed space where it was hard to breathe. This lasted only a moment, and was so much less a struggle than when Méadaigh's power had been at its height. The next thing he knew, he had ballooned into existence in his study in Reine. First he comprehended the familiar indefinable smell of home, and then he opened his eyes and smile. There was the desk sitting before the window, which admitted some sunlight. The desk had been made tidy by his servants, the chair was pushed in as far as it could go and the bookcase to the side, which was full of lawbooks and records, had been kept clear of dust.

Standing up and grinning, Aniketos offered a hand to Lilieth. "It's good to be home," he said.

You know this feeling when you suddenly feel like there is something you should remember but it don't come back. That was it, until it wasn't.

    " Oh shite ... "

    "It's good to be home,"

As for Lilieth, she took a few step, then grab the bowl and threw up the content of her stomach in it.

Seeing the mocking gaze of Aniketos, she angrily stared at him and answered :

" Easy for you to keep your countenance, you merely feel some pressure and you get here, as for myself I get to everything there is to see during the flight, starting with tears through space, warped reality, piece of landscaped from devil know where mixed between themselves ... It's like a visual overdrive each time. There is some pretty messed up thing between the cracks of our reality you know ... "

Back in her time there was a race of creature, the void walker, that specialized in spacial travel. Her own race, throught their ultimate vision, had some understanding toward this branch of magic, even if it was merely a minor ability awaken by warriors at their apex.

" I'll grant you it's handy, but I feel like each time that the slighest miscalculation could send us somewhere messed up, or multiple somewhere messed up in pieces for that matter. "

Lilieth then proceed to imagine, in a distant future, her different body part ending up in different place and then trying to travel on their own toward the main body to reatach themselves. She wodnered if at some point that's would be something she could survive, being dismembered that's it.

The horror with slowly awaking new level of immortality was also the multiple new kind of of painfull situation it could land her into. Sure not dying from most things was a nice bonus, but the pain was a bitch each time.

She proceed to look around the room, and toward the window.

    " So that's your home ... "

Aniketos could not hide his mirth, despite Lilieth's admonishment. He was too viscerally reminded of the journey to Angkar with Shrista, who spent almost the entire trip heaving over the railing of the ship.

"The alternative is a weeks' long journey that could end with assault by rogue bands of fae, darling," said Aniketos humorously but kindly.

"So that's your home," she said, looking around.

"Yes," he said, then added, musingly, "So it has been for almost a decade, but even my first night here does not seem like long ago. Of course, that time is a blink of an eye to you." He hooked her arm with his and led her along, not going too fast for fear of troubling her nausea. "Come now, let's get you some water and maybe something to help your stomach. Some peppermint tea? Some bread? Whatever suits your fancy."

He led her through the study door and out into the hall. It was empty, the wooden floor neatly swept, little magical lights in sconces lighting the way. The hall was lined with doors, leading to rooms which Aniketos knew well but Lilieth would not know at all. "You'll be staying in one of these rooms," he said, gesturing to the left.

At the end of the hall was a window, through which Aniketos caught a glimpse of the devastation that had once been his gardens. Nevermind, he thought, It shall all grow back in time.

He steered Lilieth down the stairs at the end of the hall (the ones going to the left, since the ones on the other side went up to the roof) and out they came into the downstairs hall, near a door leading to the back of the yard. The floor here was tiled, reflecting light, and one of the servants, Ione, happened to be crossing the hall as they came down. She did a double take and said, with a grin, "Aniketos! You're back!"

"And glad to be so!" he said.

She came up closer to them. She was a young thing and had been part of the household for many years. There was no pretension between them and there never had been.

    "Who is this?" asked Ione.

"Lilieth," said Aniketos, "A friend I made on the road. Is there anyone in the kitchen?"

    "Yes," said Ione, "Nephele."

She went on here way, smiling, and Aniketos took Lilieth through the door immediately following the stairs. The kitchen was warmer than the rest of the house, and fragrant. On the opposite wall was the fireplace and in the middle of the room was a sturdy wooden table, which Nephele was wiping down with a wet rag. She looked up and her aged face cracked into one of her rare smiles. "So you made it back. Showed them fae bastards what you're made of?"

"We did," said Aniketos, though remorse stirred in his breast. He blinked away the images of battle that had poured into his mind and turned to Lilieth, making an effort to focus on her face. "Well, some peppermint tea then? Perhaps you don't want to eat right after that."

Me? Not eating? Who are you taking me for ? I got the metabolims of a 450 pound beast. A girl need to eat !

And so she did. At some point, even the maidservant started looking at her with fright, wondering if they would be next on the menu.

The most bewildering part was she probably had filled herself with more than she couldn't physically contain, but instead of show sign of inflating, her glow just got stronger, as is her whole body was just sighting in relief.

During the campain, as the food was evidently rationned, she had to run in energy saving mode. Safe garding her energy when her explosive strenght was actually usefull. What she just ate was way over the top, but it was vengence after millenia of starving, and months of rationing.

" Believe me when I tell you I haven't felt this good in, and I mean ltierraly, ages "

Lilieth was contemplating what she knew about her new situation. She had a home, and at least some thing as close as it could. War was over, and the Sotoan people were preparing themself for an age of rebuilding.

For the first time since she awoken, she had the time and the leeway toward thinking what would come next. And as far as she was concerned, for now she had no idea exactly.

She still lacked way to many information about this new world. She might as well start by exploring and trying to awaken her bloodline back to her previous self at least.

Lilieth ate and ate, and at some point Nephele said something along the lines of, "It was that bad out there, was it?" and then, when she continued to eat long after Aniketos had finished, she said, "She'll eat all of Soto's food and then polish off Morrim's too, I wager."

Thankfully, she finished before the larders were completely empty. She said she felt a lot better and, in truth, she looked it as well. Her skin, usually ghostly pale, was flushed with life, and she held herself straighter, her stance belying energy and excitement. Even her hair seemed more lustrous, her clothes more arranged, her whole manner a little less decrepit.

Aniketos smiled, his chin resting in his hand. "Yes, I can tell," he said in response. Little things like this gave him hope – he had to admit being heartened at seeing one so long close to death doing so well. "Well," he said as Nephele clattered away with Lilieth's dishes, "What would you like to do next? I could show you around the house. I should probably sort out your room in any case. And the cats are surely around somewhere – you must meet them too."

Lilieth face bearmed as she answered with a straight face :

" See the cats? How did you know it's my favorite kind of desert? "

Seeing the looks, borderline to horror, she received in return, she cracked a smile and added :

" Just joking, I kinda like this cats too, they're furry assholes, but they're kind of cute anyways. Did you knew the far, far ancestors of cat were of demonic lineage, while wolf and dog come from heavenly one? Even if their bloodline have thinned until nothing remain of it, it's still in their instinct to hate each others. Funny isn't it? "

One of the maid servant suddeny cast a pretty conflicted gaze at the cat that was currently roaming around the kitchen trying to steal food.

" Anyways, yeah, I'd pretty much like a tour of my room, and your home facilities "

While the others in the room responded to Lilieth's first remark with looks of horror, Aniketos was more or less used to this and merely smiled sardonically at her, his chin in his hand. At that moment he felt a cat winding along his leg. He looked down but the cat had escaped under the table, out of sight. Soon she came back into view, as Lilieth explained the demonic lineage of cats: it was Lady Bae'qualnylene, distinctive for her tortoiseshell fur and habit of wreaking havoc.

"It doesn't surprise me," said Nephele, watching the cat warily, "They cause enough trouble – knocked over a whole stack of dishes the other day, and that with crockery being the prices it is these days."

"Soon they will force us to eat off trenchers of bread, like Raenas and his companions on their journey," said Aniketos. Lady Bae'qualnylene came close to him and stared up with green eyes, meowing pleadingly. He swooped down and picked her up. She was smaller than she used to be: he could feel her ribs through her luxurious fur. The famine had affected her too, but at least they'd managed to keep the cats off the streets so they wouldn't be eaten by hungry refugees. "This," he said, showing the disgruntled cat to Lilieth, "Is Lady Bae'qualnylene Luna Illiamna'stin Moist Aubergine Agrippa Piddles Hesperés. Don't ask about the name. It's a long story." The cat struggled out of his grip and vaulted across the room, trying to land on one of the counters. Unfortunately, she misjudged her landing and wound up slipping to the ground instead. She gave herself a few agitated licks on the shoulder, as if to say, "See? I meant to do that," and then exited the kitchen in shame.

Aniketos shook his head, smiling as the others laughed. "Never a dull moment," he remarked. With that he stood and gestured that Lilieth should follow him out of the room.

They went down the hall, and Aniketos pointed out the locations of the store room and servants' quarters, but actually showed her the bath – of the fanciest sort, set into the ground with murals adorning the walls – the dining room, the sitting room – which he explained as his and Shrista's favourite haunt – and the great chamber, where gatherings were held. He led her out the front door to what had once been the gardens.

"They used to be quite beautiful," he said, strolling around the wreckage of broken stems and decaying leaves and brittle vines still twined around lattices, "But I had to have it dug up to provide food for the war. Then the cold froze them when we least expected it. Sometime it will be fixed, but as nothing is growing yet..."

He did little to explain the darkhouse to her, other than by saying that that block of a building over there was where he kept certain precious specimens. It would take too long to explain all that it meant to him, so he moved on to pointing out the privy to her, given that she would likely need use of it before long.

Back inside they went, and up to the second floor. He led her down the hall first, showing her the andron – for the drinking parties he would be unlikely to have any time soon – pointing out the location of the study they had emerged from her and leading her into the library. "It's a modest enough collection," he said demurely, "But should you ever take an interest in reading, this is a good place to start."

He took her into his bedroom, which was bedecked in purple. "If you ever want me and I'm in here, you should probably knock first. You never know what you'll find. If you don't follow that rule then you can't blame me for what you'll see."

Finally, he took her to what would be her room – the very last room on the right before the stairs, which Nephele had mentioned was the one in the best condition after the rooms had been used to harbor those who tended to the garden during the war. "Here we are," he said, pushing of door. Looking around inside he said, "Oh, of course."

Both of the other cats were asleep on what was to be Lilieth's bed, lavishing in a spot of sunlight. "Well, you'll have to fight them for this space I am sure. That one–" he pointed to a puddle of fur the colour of marmalade, "–is Lord Elagabalus Albatross Agrippa Blowchunks Valentinus Mildew Shar Hesperés. He's a nuisance. And the other one–" a thickset gray tom who was stretched out on his back, soaking up the sun with his belly "–is Lord Hieronymous Vasilius Sputum Avocado Theophylaktos Agrippa Hesperés."

Lilieth eyes beamed when she saw the bathing room.

" You mean you have like private bath with clean water and everything? ... "

She suddenly felt like a whole millenia plus one military campain worth of filth accumated on her.

Waving good by at the bath, she add before following Aniketos :

" See you later my dear friend ... "

She then proceed with the tour. If not an actual complex made to house both servant and vassal, Aniketos manor was not too shabby, with quite a few interresting facilities. She especially got interested in the library. It's not like she was a passionante bookworm, but the fact remained she needed a whole millenia worth of update on pretty much everything, and mankind had made heavenly progress in the area of storing and transmitting knowledge.

She was by far advantaged compare to other since, with a bit of training, she could use her sight to flip by books way faster.

At the mention of knocking before entering for saving her the pain of seeing him in light apparel she merely raised an eyebrow. It was merely out of sympathy, she didn't went into a long explanation about what it meant to have a long range full peripherical vision that couldn't miss anything at any time. We lived in a camp for weeks dude ! What do you think I didn't saw yet?

When they finally reached her room. it was a simple room, well tended, with a view on the sea. Lilieth rushed to her window and took a look at the gigantic amount of water.

She had heard of it, from other Sotoan soldier, but no tale can prepare you to the vastness of it, to the waves, the boats ...

She turned to Aniketos and just said :

" We're definitely going to see that next "

She then casted a glance at the cats on "her" bed, and released her demonic aura in form of raw hostility.

It is to be known that usually, animals feared her. Demon were much closer to the animal reign than heavenly being, relying mostly on bloodline and powerfull body, therefor when she was trying to pass the message "piss off" she was instinctively understood.

But instead of the fear she intended to see, the cat merely casted her back a smug face and then rolled on his side, mocking her. She squinted her eyes, but didn't pursue it ... for now.

" I can deal with territorial skirmish, i've dealt with much larger cousins of his back in the day, and they made awesome coat. You wouldn't fancy a new pair of warm underwear would you? "

Unter friedlichen Umständen fällt der kriegerische Mensch über sich selber her.

Aniketos could feel the aura rising off her, but he could also feel that it was not directed at him. He laughed a little when Elagabalus stretched out in response. He was named after a king after all – he could hardly be expected to stand down.

"You know, I've often thought of it," said Aniketos, settling down for a moment to scratch Hieronymous under the chin. "They're lucky they weren't skinned and eaten during the war – you know that, don't you, Mister Sputum?" He poked Hieronymous' fluffy gray belly with his fingers. The cat's body snapped like alligator jaws, trying to snare Aniketos' arm with his claws. Aniketos was quick and was well out of the way of any damage. "Hah!"

Hieronymous set about licking himself in the "well I meant to do that" sort of way and then circled on the bed, resettling himself.

Aniketos' eyes travelled to the view out the window, and for a moment he stared out vaguely, distantly. Then he said, "So, that's where you want to go next?" He stood up. "Would you like to do that now?"
