Sweet, revitalizing blood coursed down her throat; fangs shredding into the bloody, fleshy pool with vigor. Each torn tendon, each pulled muscle... ripped from the limp body and chewed in a mouth that only hungered for blood and meat. Carnivorous, and proudly so; worn on her face like a crimson flag of death and gore. So stated danger, and so hinted ferocity. She was every bit a horror that the wild so proclaimed- the darker side to nature's beauty. Like packs of wolves and the soaring eagle- naturally dangerous and naturally hungry. She fed like a wild beast; no mercy and no restraint, and certainly no manners. Face in, rip, and tear. No conciousness for the gross act in which she divulged. Any could see her kinship with beasts from this angle... but could they see the other side? Tamed, and domestic; at any other time, none would guess her to be like this. Not wild and uncontained. Not her. Yet here she was- every bit the monster she appeared. But it weren't as though she were hurting anyone- except the chicken- or destroying everything in a senseless rampage. So why then was it that her meal was interrupted by a series of nets dropping upon her, pinning her to the ground and, consequently, knocking the hen from her hands? "Gah! Ah... hh..." Minno's eye was open wide, her body dropped to all fours as her wings spread out to support the net now digging into her back. The attack had taken her entirely by surprise, and a whir of stunned thoughts now rushed through her mind. What was going on? What were these things? And, more importantly... who was attacking her? Minno's body trembled, realisation that she was caught flooding her heart with fear and panic. She had to do something... had to get away. They wouldn't catch her- not again. Not now. Not after so many escapes before. The unnatural solid blue iris of her only eye nearly engulfed her dark pupil in her wide-eyed panic- until her gaze at last set on the men that approached her. Heart still beating fast, her lone eye narrowed, and she greeted them with a warning hiss, followed soon after with a deep-throated growl. Not now. Not today. With a deeper growl and an even greater snarl, she pushed back against the cutting weights holding her down, and then, without any warning, shrunk in size. What the nets held was, in short time, no longer a strange creature of unknown race, but an all-too-familiar animal about as threatening to society as the dead hen. A rabbit- a grey rabbit of the same hue as the beast; with a darker grey cottontail and darker grey ears. The band of cloth that had covered the female's eyes now lay over the rabbit's head, too large to still be worn. A short moment passed before the creature moved, crawling out from under the nets with the cloth still over its body. Freed from its confinement, it peered out from under the cloth. The left eye- the same unnatural blue- was no greater eye-catcher than the place of its absent companion; her right eye revealed, all that could be seen was an empty pink socket. The rabbit's ears twitched irritably at the men. But then the animal was off, the cloth wrapped over its back and held between its teeth. No... they weren't going to catch her this day... they most certainly weren- She squealed loud, like a trapped swine, and backpedaled back in a different direction, as the path she'd chosen for escape revealed more guards. Surely these men weren't everywhere! There had to be some sort of escape! Panicked still, and further more, Minno rushed around in zigzags and circles, dodging hands that tried to grab at her. Yet no matter how much she raced, there didn't seem a route to even squeeze through to reach freedom. 'No... no! They won't catch me... they won't!' |
