Amidst the crowd trotted a large creature, of whom, for some, could be difficult not to stop and stare at. But only for some, as a horse was not so uncommon an occurance in the world, and this mare was certainly no different from others that had passed through before. She was a strong and well-tempered creature; her coat a peachy-golden tan atop a pale cream underside that melted down into four white legs. The creature's mane was the purest of whites, her tail reflecting the same hue at her other end. But it was the being that rode her that was truly something to stare at. Riding atop the equine's petite woman, scarcely standing over five feet in height on the ground. She possessed long, blonde hair that fell just beyond her mid-back, which at present was tied back with a single black ribbon. Although pretty enough, it was not beauty that ought to have made the woman an attraction. In fact, the curiousity owed was not for outward appearances at all- save for a slightly awkward gait. The thing that made her an oddity was her soul alone; not a woman's soul, but the soul of a man. Yorishine was rather bothered by the heat, but had managed not to make a show of it. It was little use to yell at the weather, for it had no ears with which to acknowledge such childish tantrums. Far better was it just to go along and let the sky have its way. He was scarcely paying attention as he rode through the city, his mount mostly choosing her own way with little direction given from the woman that sat upon her back. The former male was much too absorbed in his inner thoughts to pay attention to where the mare was headed. Or he was... until a dog upped out of nowhere and started barking its head off. Normally in such a case it would be the horse that would spook, tossing its rider off in order to run away. But not in this case. The palomino was as level-headed as they came. The woman... well... he was a bit high on nerves. A sudden chorus of barks at his side caused Yorishine to jump out of his mind and directly onto the waiting street. He had, indeed, just fallen off his horse. "Oh, of all the damned-!" He cursed the dog aloud, hitting it away as it made for his face. His attempts did not dissuade the dog, as it just started licking at his hand instead. Yorishine was not amused in the least, struggling to get up again despite pain and a heavy animal bouncing around, over and on him. "Get off of me, you mongrel!" All the while, as the blonde woman fought with the overly friendly canine, the mare stood by calmly, just watching. It was clear that the larger animal had not been phased in the least by the dog's antics. Her rider, however... "I'll drive your heart through, you fool dog! Off! Off of me!" Well. The woman seemed to be having the time of her life. One could even ask, she'd say so herself. With the utmost sarcasm intended. After much struggling, the blonde had at last made it upright and even to her feet. But the dog did not relent. It continued to jump at him, eagerly trying to lick every inch of the woman's face. Yorishine, whom had never been much of a dog person, rushed blindly away from the creature- and into the nearest passerby. His body collided right into her- the short glimpse he had had confirmed it to be a woman, though that was little to say given his present state- and the impact found him once again on the ground, in reach of the dog once more. The mutt was on him in seconds, covering his face in happy drool. Voice muffled by his arm due to the way he had landed, Yorishine muttered bitterly, "Some god damn this creature... damn it now." Shielding his face the best he could, he made an attempt to peer up at his victim. She was indeed a woman; as another like he was quite improbable. Her skin was of an uncommon hue and she had dark hair to offset it. His lips parted to give a tired greeting, but only released a heavy sigh as his face was attacked once more. He just couldn't win. |
