Liron
lol pacifists.

((Sorry, it’s kinda bad. =/ Not sure if this is acceptable or not for Raz, so let me know. ))

Liron couldn’t remember the last time he’d been to Ildri – or indeed, when he’d ever been to Ildri. A fairly sedentary creature by nature, Liron had never really been consumed by the urge to travel the length and breadth of Elenlond for the sheer joy of it, preferring instead to remain in Soto unless business required his presence there. And, being a musician, he rarely had any business anywhere that required his presence. Occasionally, when he was bored, he’d go visit some neighboring towns and cities, or perhaps go see a particularly famed landmark – Elenlond had those in spades – but those visits were generally few and far in between, perhaps once or twice a year. Though, considering how long he’d been around – nearly a lifetime for the average human – he’d certainly seen his fair share of places. Yet he hadn’t actually been to Ildri, despite it being the capital of Angkar, and thus a fairly important place. It was probably the fact that Angkar was an island, and thus only reachable by boat. Liron was most definitely a land creature, and liked to have his feet firmly underneath him rather than have them wobbling on a boat’s surface.

But, it had been high time he paid the city a visit. There’d been a new ruler placed on the throne recently – though only a long-lived creature would ever call five years recent – and the city seemed to be blooming under the rule of the new regent, some man called Razarod. Liron had no idea what the man was like, didn’t even know what he looked like, but if the city was doing well, then he probably wasn’t all that bad. But Liron was no politician, despite having a knack for mediation, and in truth, his visit to the city had been for pleasure rather than any deep inspection of the new ruler and all his ways.

His particular location at the moment was a large square, filled with entertainers and merchants and street vendors eager to sell their wares. He always ended up being drawn to plazas, and particularly the performers. Other talents he might have, but at heart, he would always be a musician, and most comfortable around his fellow musicians. It wasn’t a glamorous calling, nor a well-paid one, but he enjoyed it, and he was good enough that he had a regular place at an inn back home. Of course, he helped out with other chores and did odd jobs as well, but it allowed him to do what he enjoyed, so he was hardly going to complain.

Finding an unoccupied location, he pulled out his violin from its case, and did some quick tuning. He had nothing better to do that day that to play a few songs, and he was a bit rusty as it was. This place, large and filled with people, was a good place to practice, and a place where he would also hopefully go unnoticed. Settling the instrument on his shoulder, he closed his eyes and launched into a quick fast-paced folk song.
